I just have a feeling that they would be good teachers for some reason! What subjects do you think they’d teach and what grade?

Ok, so I do have a strong bias toward Gon in the sciences, specifically biology. It gets to tie in his love of nature and animals and I think he’d be so cute infodumping about different animals with unique adaptations to anyone who would listen, plus he could fill his classroom with tons of plants and colourful posters. He’d be a really approachable teacher and I’m going to give him… let’s say grades 10 and 11. I think he’d coach a sport too, like maybe soccer. Gon is also super perceptive and I see him as the teacher who notices if his students are tired or feeling off, and sends them into the cafeteria to get a muffin or something. Honestly 10/10, his classes would always have a great average, and I think kids would respect him a lot because it would be so obvious that he cared.

I sooooo badly wanted to give Killua English (because it was my favourite subject) but I actually think he’d teach something tech related. Do high schools still have computer labs? Is that a thing anymore? Because mine had a graphic design class (that I retained zero knowledge of) where you could learn photoshop and illustrator, and the teachers that taught those classes also did photography electives. Anyway, that’s the type of thing I think Killua would teach. I just love the idea of Killua as a design snob, and I see him being the type to keep up with trends in tech and art and showing up for class looking like a college art student. I’d give him grades 11 and 12, and there would always be at least ten students with a crush on him at any given point in time (he’d have no idea). He’s got such a great sense of humour so I see him making dry things really entertaining and making his students laugh with stupid jokes.

Maybe Killua helps out with yearbook, and he’d run into Gon when his students had to take pictures of the soccer team or some sort of biology project that won an award

OR maybe Gon is in the teacher’s lounge and Killua’s just been transferred to the school and he walks in with a massive iced mocha latte and a really tight turtleneck, and proceeds to complain about the terrible parking in this place and Gon is sort of smitten immediately.

Literally so many options I could go on forever, but I’ll try to be chill and restrain myself. I loved this ask and thinking about this au!

why jay/leia is the intended endgame: an unnecessarily long post

the very obvious answer to this is the whole legacy argument. who didn't know when the character descriptions dropped that those two would be a couple just for the whole "haha the kelsos are still driving the forman women crazy" joke? (which they haven't even made yet, which also makes me think we have in no way seen the last of them. we are DEFINITELY getting an eric freakout) kelso was a joke character nearly his entire stint on t70s. they never portrayed him as a good bf or caring ab . . . well anything other than sex, and then eventually betsy (trans!jay kelso theory?). jay, however, they make a big point of showing/saying that he is not like his dad. there is an entire episode dedicated to red realizing that jay is a good boy and that is not kelso just bc he is a kelso.

this is the jay defining moment for me. i think if they had cast a lesser actor than mace this could've come off as 'haha jay trying to get into leia's pants' but mace delivered it so genuinely and sincerely that it is very clear to me that leia is not going to be someone that jay gets over easily. he's this "reformed playboy," yet we never see him be anything less than a gentleman to leia. i am pointing out this line in particular bc of it's OBVIOUS parallel to eric saying that he needed to go to africa so that he can deserve donna.

i have trauma from the gmw fandom debating to death who the corpanga was supposed to be (as if that was a good thing lmfao) but there is literally no debate that jay/leia is the new donna/eric. jay is the cool hot love interest who centers the neurotic dorky protagonist. plus, i mean, the car scene within the first three episodes? be so serious here.

the show spent sooooo much time on jay and it would be so weird to me if they suddenly were just like "actually nate is the male lead now!" i think he probably got the least amount of screentime of any of the kids.

i know the showrunner came out and said leia needed to find a ~deep connection not built on lust~ and that's where nate came in. i do agree with that to an extent, but nate/leia is clearly just to throw off the viewers. also, nate is the kelso archetype more than jay is, lbr. (i could do an entirely separate blog post on that). yes, nate and leia connected. they were able to confide in each other about their relationship issues. does that mean there's romantic chemistry there? no. it just means that they were there for each other in an important moment.

is a big proponent of leia/jay's relationship built on lust? i would argue moreso on leia's side than jay's, but also, leia didn't like jay bc of his looks. she liked him because he made her feel special and treated her with respect. she liked the kind, sensitive part of him. it was only once they had that moment where she began to ~lust after him. and for anyone to argue that jay's feelings for leia are lust related is fucking stupid because

like jay could get any girl he wants canonically. he likes leia for leia. he likes her for all of her little quirks and flaws. plus there is ANOTHER episode dedicated to her feeling she needs to put out and him saying he only wants what she is comfortable with. c'mon man.

this is not some lust related fling that was built on nothing but mutual attraction. i'm not gonna act like their convos ever get super deep or anything (mainly because we only got ten episodes in season one), but nate/leia rly didn't either. like. they were both just upset about jay and nikki. and then they almost kissed.

are nate and leia probably going to be a focus in season two? oh, for sure. but the obvious endgame is jay and leia.

ok so swifty anon has inspired me to write some angst headcanons for the papas and their views on relationships and their sad girl song if I know a good one off the top of my head (I don’t know if these would count as sad girl song but they have good angst and crying potential so I’m calling them that).

primo: is single and likes it that way. He spent most of his young life looking after and mentoring his little brothers because nihil was absent and never got around to actually dating anyone as a teen/young adult since he basically had to be a father since age 12+. When he did get around to it he simply couldn’t stand having to care for yet another person if they were emotionally demanding and he realized that romance just wasn’t for him. He does have a few siblings of sin he regularly hangs out with in his garden or around the abbey and considers them better then any romantic relationship he could have and they make sure to invite him to as much stuff as they can so he doesn’t feel left out (even if de declines most of the stuff). It's disappointing to nihil’s eyes that he ended up like this since he would’ve been the best son to carry on the emeritus line but that ship has sailed and it’s directly his fault and he knows it.

Sad girl song: The Bug Collector by Haley Heyndrickx

secundo: craves unconditional romantic love and attention from someone sooooo bad. He never grew up with a real mom to teach him the ins and outs of what being in love is like so the next best thing he had was nihil and you can guess how that turned out for him. It’s not that nihil didn’t teach him to be respectful or kind to his partners but more so that nihil only really showed him the sexual side of relationships and never the work or romantic part of it so when he tried to seriously date people it didn’t go too well. The thing is though that at the beginning of the relationship when it was in a honeymoon-like phase he found that being around his partners and seeing how happy they looked when seeing him or how fulfilled and happy he felt when he could hold their hand or cuddle with them made him develop a craving for a serious romantic relationship and vulnerability with someone. Eventually all his relationships ended in disaster due to his inability to deal with harder times or strains on the relationship (plus a short temper to stressful situations) and eventually he gave up and just resorted to sexual relationships to dampen his loneliness. Bonus: he actually would’ve actually loved to have kids (either with a prime mover or a legitimate partner) but was terrified that they would hate him and he would end up being just as bad of a father as nihil was so decided against it.

Terzo: enjoys a good night out with some temporary partners but generally feels like he’s unloveable. It’s not that he doesn’t think his family or friends don’t love him but that if he opened his heart to someone they wouldn’t like what they saw. “He’s the most charming and charismatic one right? People would fall in love with that and not who he truly is, most people already do that anyway so what’s the point in trying?” He already puts up a mask in front of most people so to bring that down and be vulnerable to someone outside family is t e r r i f y i n g to him. He’s mainly worried about ending up loving someone and then losing them once they realize he’s not all that he’s chalked up to be. So in the end he has his reputation, his family, and his indulgences keeping him company.

Sad girl song: either The Night We Met by Lord Huron or All I Want by Kodaline

Copia: He’s open to a relationship with someone some day but is probably both the most jaded (and hopeful) out of his brothers that he’ll find the right person. He has undiagnosed autism due to the time period he was born in and the pressures of his job not allowing him to be/show himself as “different” in a way that might hinder him even though he it just does stuff a lil differently. Because he never learned about his condition and how it might affect how he acts in social situations and how to deal with that, he had a very hard time connecting with other kids his age (or even other adults later on for that matter). He was always seen as off-putting or strange for having unconventional interests (stuff like keeping rats or ballet and dance even though he’s a boy) and body language and sometimes speech. All of this put together meant that he had few to no friends for a long time and if kids asked him out it was as a joke or prank. Even as an adult, he’s never anybody’s first or even second pick for a date and unfortunately knows it. Over time, he learned what was making his body language seem so off and “corrects” most of it during social situations so he has more friends and more accepted now though his speech patterns can make him come off as awkward.

I was so happy when I noticed that Neil, all cute, good-hearted and clumsy was sometimes a bit of a savage, especially with his brother in the manhua (deserved ngl, even if Nick was just trying his best and thought he was helping, he sucked at it).

Same for Lily, i loved the fact that she's a battle angel, and mischievious, and not only the straight A student little miss perfect. She's no perfect cutie pie and little me would have relate to her or Neil SOOOOO much.

Neil and Lily are really a nd4nd ship lmao.

And Lynn !! I love that even if he doesn't approve the fact that Neil is crushing on his sister and he's protective, and that he's tired of the mess of Neil and his brother are doing, he doesn't hate Neil. He even likes him, bc he likes young people and Neil is so sweet and full of good.

And same with his relationship with Nick !! I thought this ship was going to be a bit too cliché for me but. They fight and bickers but- Lynn gets genuinely touched when Nick didn't forget his birthday and even gave him a good gift like. It's smh realistic ?? They can tolerate each other (from what i saw in the manhua too) and even spent good time with each other but they are both adults and dumb as fuck with feelings.

hiiii today's reminder is baggy jeans!! i stand by my first impression from seeing it performed at the concert: fun, Ten's rap verse is my favourite bit, pretty good. i also stand by what I said about the t7s reunion being wasted on the song, but hearing a clean studio version made me appreciate the vocals a lot more, the harmonies are very very good, and definitely tie the track together for me. also i find it really funny that this unit debuted with the seventh sense, a song that's still widely praised for its lyricism and I've heard a lot of people say it was the first song that made them realise that k pop can be deep. and now those same people celebrating seven years of a song about drowning in reality and opening your eyes to a higher world by singing about pants

alsooo we haven't talked about key's new album here yet but the teasers look so good. definitely a switch up from his retro series, but I like how he's defined his style so well that it's so clearly his universe despite jumping from fantasy sci-fi to a grey minimalist office

Hii, I feel kind of the same way I feel about 2baddies where I love everything but the chorus, but I can tolerate baggy jeans a little more cause it's just kinda silly. And I like it more than I thought I would just from glazing over the performance.. But honestly I think just Doyoung's time was wasted. Like its supposed to be a reunion but they wasted that man's time. Because it suits everyone else quite well especially Jaehyun, he was center for me. Doyoung's voice is too rich and soulful and he can't pair it down as much as Jaehyun can. Jaehyun can go full throttle or bring it down plus he also raps. Like Ten also raps so that is in their wheel house. Doyoung just always gives everything and he didn't have room to do that. And it was a waste of his voice. Ten and Jaehyun could have carried vocals alone they didn't need to waste Doyoung's time like that. Like I agree it was a waste of a reunion, and most importantly Doyoung's time.

I actually think Bat should have been the main track cause oh my god it's sooo good. The fact it's pretty much just deeper voiced rappers and they blend seamlessly and Yuta and Jungwoo brighten everything up and it's perfect, amazing wonderful, And the music video!!! and they all looked so good. I can't quite say the version of what I said to my friends but pretty much the whole team can pass me around respectively. But especially Hendery, he really brought it. And that is all I will say. But yeah. Oh I didn't even know Key was releasing a new album yay!! We love a versatile king. He really does have his own style cemented. Also Kangaroo was sooooo cute I was squealing and awwing and it was just so cute. Kun and Taeil baby sitting the kids. And Seeing Renjun and Yangyang together just brings me so much joy.

X) And YES those gifs by whumpypepsigal are literally what got me here; I had no idea there was a whump community until I saw those amazing ‘Raising Dion’ sets and I found you all through that! I’m so thankful for that person for those sets. I had actually wanted to start writing fanfiction again for ‘Raising Dion’ specifically to whump Jason and to fix what they did with his character. XP Ahhhhhh and yes ‘The Event’ whump is sooooooo good I love Jason in there like AHHHH!!!!! His whole storyline in that episode is so fantastic I watch it over and over again and just live in content. XD Gosh but I could go on and on about Jason. :P

My sister is the only one that knows about me too, and she doesn’t fully understand it either, but she doesn’t judge me for it for now so I’m just holding on to that. Okay, so I’m a little confused; I looked up ‘Sexual Attraction’ and everything I read says it means ‘you find someone hot or pretty or attractive’, so I definitely have that with actors, but then other sites say it’s ‘wanting to have sex with that person’, which I definitely do NOT have. So am I asexual or am I not? That definition of sexual attraction always confused and bothered me when I see it on sites because I feel like that's not exactly it. So I think I'll start with a few definitions and explanations which I think might help.

For starters, sexual attraction and arousal/sex drive are two separate things. One can feel arousal without any sexual attraction and vice versa. Your sex drive and arousal is just your body going "I want sex". Sexual attraction is "I want sex with that person". Arosual can happen when your body is stimulated and doesn't have to have anything to do with attraction. Just like you can be attracted to someone but not have the drive to sleep with them.

Secondly asexuality is experiencing little to no sexual sexual attraction. That's it. That's the only "requirement". You might have a high libido/sex drive or no libido. Doesn't make a person any less or more ace. Personally I have a fairly high libido but absolutely zero attraction. So I just take care of myself and I'm good. Some asexuals choose have sex without feeling sexual attraction.

And there are different types of attractions. Sexual, romantic, sensual, aesthetic, and more. Sexual attraction: I want to have sex with that person. Romantic attraction: I want to date that person. Sensual attraction: I want to hold their hand or cuddle with that person. Aesthetic attraction: that person is pleasing to look at. Platonic attraction: I want to be friends with that person.

The hard part, at least for me, is figuring out which of them you are feeling in the moment. And a lot fo times these overlap with each other too which makes things confusing as well. I most often feel aesthetic, platonic, and sensual attraction. I do not feel sexual or romantic hence why I identify as asexual and aromantic.

Sexual attraction makes zero sense to me to be honest. I don't get it. People have described it to me but it's not an easy thing for people to describe cause they just feel it and know what it is. The best way I can describe it as when allos (people who are not under the asexual umbrella) see someone they find sexually attractive then those feeling like we get with whump. Like they'll look at someone and "think damn that person is hot and I would like to have sex with them" and the physical feelings happen at the same time. The word hot is used literally because attractive people make them feel hot. Which I definitely don't get lol. I don't know about you but that has literally never happened to me in my life. So sexual attraction is the "I want to have sex with this person". The "finding someone hot or pretty" is much more aesthetic attraction. You can find someone beautiful and not want to have sex with them. My whumpees are all people I find hot aesthetically. Any time I say a character/actor is hot I mean aesthetically. I like to look at them like I enjoy a nice sculpture or painting. I do not want to have sex with a painting. That sounds like you too.

As for sadism, I can't speak too much about this because I am not one but as I understand it, sadists derive sexual pleasure from inflicting pain on others. There's nothing wrong with that as long as you and your partner are both consenting to whatever you do in the bedroom. Lots of people enjoy that. It's not bad. If you wonder if you're a sadist ask yourself and reflect on whether this fits with you. For example, with myself cause I also wondered the same thing, in my actual life i do not like hurting people, I don't find anything sexually pleasing about hurting others so I am not a sadist. But I do want to make it clear that there isn't anything wrong with being a sadist! It all comes down consent. If you and your partner are consenting amd happy then you're good! You do you!

Honestly when it comes to whump, the way I see it is if you view it as a sexual thing than it is but if you don't think of it as sexual then it's not.

So me personally, I do not derive any sexual pleasure from whump at all. My feelings and sensations seem to be similar to what people experience with sexual attraction but I don't view whump as a sexual thing to me at all so in my head what I feel is not sexual attraction. What exactly it is I honestly don't know. I think that's why I love the term whumperflies. It gives this feeling it's own thing and I love that. There's no element of sex with whump to me at all. For some people there is though and that's totally cool! We all have our likes and dislikes and none are bad so long as we aren't hurting others (without their consent anyway ;) ).

In the end it's totally up to you how you view things. Based on what you've said it sounds a lot like me in that whump is not a sexual thing for you but rather you enjoy the aesthetics of it and the whumperflies ot gives you. But I'm not gonna tell you for certain because ultimately it's up to you to decide what you feel! I can offer advice and definitions and my own experiences though which I hope helps some.

A new muse means a new chance for me to get back into my love of costume analysis so here is Tina’s time to shine!

First off this girls dresses like the background character in a Bible story on VHS from the 80′s that’s been collecting dust on a shelf at your church for years and I adore it.  I’ve also said the same thing about OG Marth but he looks specifically like he would be David of the And Goliath fame whereas Tina would be like idk laying palms down for Jesus.  Idk why but I’m all about this aesthetic for her.

Now for the serious business.

If you put the three Tahran girls in a line up it’s so easy to point out which one does not belong.  Safy and Linoan both wear long, elegant, flowing robes.  You see them and immediately go Healer.  Safy looks more clericy which makes sense to me since Linoan is also Big Important Noble.  But this ain’t about them this is about Tina.  She looks sooooo drastically different and I think it’s pretty easy to figure out why.

She gets her lil outfit when she’s with the Dandelion Gang!  Think about it.  It makes sense.  It looks very much like oh we just had a big t-shirt lying around and now we’ve got this little kid here who needs something clean to wear.  I think that Tina was probably shown a pile of clothes like here grab what you want.  And then she gets to kind of explore her own personal Tina style for the first time and she loves it.  She craves freedom to follow her whims and being stuck in a nun in training habit does not really allow for this.  I love this lil accessories too.  A gold bracelet, a headband.  She’s teen girling it up.  She totally stole that bracelet btw.

Then she’s got this outfit for cipher art.  This is what she would wear normally in her lil convent with the girls.  Not quite as flowing and elegant as what Safy wears but Tina is still in training.  She’s not a full fledged cleric and boy does she not really actually want to be.  

Then I’ve had a lot of specific thoughts about TOA Tina and her Officer’s Academy uniform.  I wanted something that felt very Catholic school and young.  I also really just like 80′s vibes for her.  It’s the hair.  So Fodlan Tina would wear something like this except, you know, not plaid and with the golden designs on the skirt.  I think she’d rock some yellow knee socks and like black loafers.  Heathers vibes to pull in the 80′s some more.  Plus she’s a funky kid who is not afraid to experiment with color.

And that’s my thoughts about Tina.

I actually really don’t care about other peoples opinions, the new Avatar: the Last Airbender could have been SO much better. For them to change KEY storylines was so disrespectful to all of what Avatar even is. The fact that they changed Aang running away from the air temple the night of the attack to him flying away to clear his head and randomly getting lost that night feels so offensive to me. Like they changed history. I always felt like the story of the Avatar was about staying true to and respecting history in that universe. I just feel that the respect for the story is not there. And what really killed me was the lack of feeling behind the actors eyes. Pretty much all of them but especially Katara. I felt like I might as well have been looking at the Mandalorian mask. Her eyes were dead. Everyone’s lines were delivered sooooo flatly. And the fact that they made Bumi some old fuck and took out that he challenges Aang, plus they don’t even flash back to them together as kids, weak weak weak. They went to all that work with the costumes and CGI and relied so heavily on that that they forgot the thing that actually matters…theeeee storrrryyyyyyy.

Hunter X Hunter Is Sooooo Good

I normally don't particularly love shonen anime, it's by far my least favorite genre, and outside of a few specific shows, it's just not really a genre for me. I don't entirely hate the genre as a whole, I like One Piece decently enough, I used to like Dragon Ball as a kid, and there's a few shorter ones that I enjoy, like I thought the first season of My Hero Academia was good (I have not seen past the first season and I likely never will, knowing that the 2nd season is a tournament arc completely kills any interest I have in continuing), but the typical genre tropes of shonen just don't really do it for me. I started rewatching Hunter X Hunter recently, I never actually finished it on my first viewing around 2015, but I remembered enjoying it and I was looking for something that I could watch while just barely paying attention while doing other things. Plus, I won't lie, I am 100% mostly interested because I want to see Alluka, and she doesn't appear until the very end, she was probably the first trans character that I ever really took a liking to, long before I identified as trans myself (I'm non-binary), I never even got far enough to see her as a kid, but like, she has such cute clothes, and for 12 year old me that was all I needed for a character to become my favorite, even if I hadn't seen a single episode with said character and knew almost nothing about them :). Honestly that's still all I really need to like a character, yes I am shallow and I am proud >:). I know it's one of the most highly acclaimed anime ever, so I expected to be good, but like, I expected it to be good for a shonen, which means for me personally it would probably be like, a 6.8/10 at best, but like, no it's genuinely just really good. I just finished the Hunter Exam arc, which is only the first arc, but I'm already completely entralled, everything about it is just so well put together, the characters are fantastic, it looks so good, I even noticed the great sound design, and like, I normally don't care about that at all in anime, so it's gotta be really good for even me to take note of it. It's not very often that I watch large chinks of episodes nowadays (I used to almost exclusively binge full anime, but not anymore, not enough attention span sigh) but my first session was 10 episodes, and my 2nd was the entire rest of the first arc, and I wasn't bored for even a moment the whole time. I know the later arcs are way better, so I'm really excited to get to those, but I also remember the 2nd arc is a tournament arc, which is where I dropped it the first time years ago (I really don't like tournament arcs) so I may be coming up on my first major wall, but like maybe it won't be so bad.

I'm also watching Cardcaptor Sakura right now as well, I'm not nearly as far in it as I am Hunter X Hunter, but I'm still very thoroughly enjoying it. I'm watching it in pretty much the exact opposite way as I am Hunter X Hunter too, I am 100% paying attention at all times with all of my focus on Cardcaptor and it's for the dumbest reason imaginable. Before watching it, I was told by a friend that in every episode Sakura has a new unique outfit, which immediately piqued my interest, like how can I not watch something with potentially countless cute outfits, like that's the easiest way to get me interested in anything ever. Therefore I am judging EVERY new outfit and writing my own personal little review on all of them and it makes watching each episode take like 50 minutes, but it's worth it, and maybe once I'm done I'll put a doc with all of them on here. I'm only 5 episodes in so far but like, damn, Clamp absolutely knows how to design nice clothes, like in one episode they gave Tomoyo an all bright yellow outfit and it is genuinely probably the best looking outfit in the show so far, like how do you even do that, bright yellow is such a difficult color to make look good. Truly the power of oomfie teamwork drip knows no bounds. Oh and also the show itself is really good too, very typical magical girl stuff but like, I like that so it's good, but like who gives a fuck about stuff like characters or plot just give me cool looking clothes and character designs.
