I write for Seventeen, ATEEZ, NCT (not Chenle or Jisung but I do write for Lucas, Sungchan and Shotaro), TXT (not Taehyun or Huening Kai), EXO (OT8), DAY6 (OT4), Monsta X, SHINee, BTOB, Twice, SNSD (OT8), EXID, GFriend, Mamamoo, 2NE1, ITZY (not Yuna) and Red Velvet (not Wendy)
IF I DON'T WRITE FOR A SPECIFIC IDOL, it is either because l they're too young for me to comfortably write about OR I just simply don't like them and don't care to talk about them. That's it. I'm no longer answering why or why not in individual asks.
I BLOCK BLANK ACCOUNTS. If you have no profile picture, no blog title, no bio, no posts, no visible likes, no visible following, etc., I will assume you're a spam account.
Though I'll occasionally answer simple asks about them or include a random member in an answer to a list ask, I no longer write for BTS or Blackpink. (more on that here!)

1. List 3 positive things about your current fandom(s)
I guess I'm gonna organize these by fandom lol
Pokemon:
- Diversity! Since it's been around for so long, there's tons of fics to read. If you can think of it, someone has probably written it. There's a Mewtwo fic I found in college that's basically a retelling of the events of the first movie, but holy shit it's written so beautifully it made me cry in front of my friends rjrhdgde. It's a dense read, but still one of my absolute favorite fics to this day. That's just an example of things you can find!
- Sub-fan bases. Basically, if you're a big fan of a certain Pokémon, a type of Pokémon, one of the games, etc., you're going to find your people very easily. Kind of falls under the first one a bit but ya know lol.
- Some of the cutest and also the most badass fanart comes out of this fandom. I have both art of a Sylveon with a lollipop and art of Mewtwo breaking out of their armor from the first movie. The duality of man djrhdgs
SoulsBorne
-Maybe I've gotten lucky and just found really nice people, but so far my experiences in the community have been largely positive! I've met some of the loveliest people by posting my Dark Souls and Bloodborne fics, and it really got me back into writing OCs again (you know that's my lifeblood lol)
-Character and lore analyses. Not that I agree with all of them, of course I don't, but if you want an analyses of anything in these games, there's some mad lad out there that's done it, whether it's a post or through an entire fic. Gives you tons to think about!
-ART!! Holy shit there's so many amazing artists in this community. We don't talk about how much SoulsBorne art I've snagged at conventions (I got more of it and Elden Ring stuff at Magfest don't look at me fjfhdhd)
Lies of P
-I haven't been in this fandom for long, but so far everyone I've met has been very sweet! They're also super OC-friendly. I can't tell you how many Stalker and Puppet OCs I've seen, among others, it's really amazing!
-Probably gonna say this for all of my fandoms but the ART OMG. There's so much gorgeous fanart floating around for this game it's insane. Still on the hunt for more Romeo pieces tho rjrhehe
-Headcanon diversity. Do you want a totally mute P? One that talks sometimes? One that's Had Enough? What I'm getting at is there's a P out there for everyone! People have been exploring all the different character angles on him and it's wonderful to see.
Ultrakill
-THE HYPE. Since this is an early access game still in development, the hype that cranks up every time an update is announced is INSANE. I don't think I've ever seen this level of it for an indie game. I got in just in time to witness this for the Violence update and the rush it gives you seeing everyone so excited is amazing!! It helps that every single update has just been an absolute banger. We have reason to be super excited, the devs do stellar work!!
-LORE. Do you wanna feel like Charlie at the corkboard in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia? Because that's where I'm definitely at right now. Since we're in the last act of the game, there's so much speculation and so many theories about how the game will end. On top of that, people have been playing in the lore sandbox ever since this game started. I know I've def been up at night wondering how the hierarchy of Heaven works and what certain layers of Hell were like before Certain Events TM (I'm being vague because I know at least one person wants to play this bear with me lol). Basically there's tons to explore and the community collectively goes insane about different bits, we have fun here lmao
-I'm bundling art and memes into this one because oh my GOD. The tonal whiplash is a rollercoaster ride. You can go from the most heart-wrenching art of Gabriel you've ever seen to a piece that goes "V1 is a shrimp now" and sometimes you just need that snap back to some levity. The memes are absolutely top-tier. It helps that the voice actor for Gabriel already does memes and shitposts on his YouTube channel, so he just carries that over for Ultrakill stuff sometimes and y'know what? This game is dark, I'm gonna need these memes for when the ending makes me bawl like a baby. The Violence layer already has me feeling the creeping sense of dread (if you know you KNOW).

Welcome to the blog!! The name is Alex, 30 yo, and any pronouns are acceptable! I made this blog specifically for my FFXVI OC by the same name. Minors DNI.

Now, onto the rules (I'm sorry)!
1. Communication is key! If you don't like something happening in the verse (or you don't agree with something), please let me know! I don't mind talking things out and fixing things here and there if need be (plus, we don't all like the same things).
2. Multishipping is perfectly fine with me, especially when it comes to my OC's! He's a little guy full of love (He's also happy with friends and found family as well). There will be exceptions (he's not going to love everybody, after all), but always feel free to ask!
3. I tend to write a lot (multi-para) but please don't feel like you have to match my length! I can make a mountain out of a molehill, after all. If the reply is going to be extra-long, I'll more than likely put it under a read more for others scrolling satisfaction.
4. I'm fine writing with existing characters or OCs! Don't feel shy! I can also easily throw him into any universe (he's not a new OC for me) so you don't have to be a FFXVI (or FF in general) blog to interact with me! As long as I know what I'm throwing him into, I'll be fine. I'll update his verses as they're created.
5. Please don't rush replies! Life outside of tumblr can be hectic sometimes (everyone has lives outside of the internet) so please be respectful! I will never rush replies in return. I would rather you take weeks to months to put out something you're satisfied and happy with than you rushing a reply and hating it. Mental health is key!!
6. I will post ooc, but I'll tag appropriately. I will also try to tag everything else appropriately (please feel free to tell me if I don't. I am, unfortunately, only human).
7. Alex is my blank slate. He's the first OC I ever created (back when I was a young teen) and he's followed me into every game/fandom I've ever enjoyed (either as the player character or a random NPC). If you have an rp idea in mind and need me to change his backstory a little, I don't mind! He can be anything I need him to be.
8. Any ask I get (with an rp meme/prompt) is left open-ended! This way, if you enjoy the direction I take the meme/prompt, you can continue it in a thread with me. (If you answer an ask I send, I'll ask if you want to continue before turning it into a thread, though, unless stated otherwise)

Those edgy, grimdark Pokémon fan theories and jokes (“it’s like dogfighting!!!”) amuse me deeply not just because they’re so try-hard but because they’re embarrassingly weaksauce compared to a little number I’d like to talk about called Pocket Monsters: The Animation.
This Japanese-exclusive but VERY official book is written by Takeshi Shudo, the first showrunner/writer of the Pokémon anime, essentially filling in the blanks of the Pokémon world and showing Shudo’s ideas about how it all works.
It is a nightmare. And in a much more disturbingly down-to-earth, in-depth, and realistic way then all the dumb fan jokes:
The Pokémon League is a broken and toxic system portrayed in much the same way as real world college sports, luring young men and women away from home to commit to a corrupt, exploitative sports system that the vast majority wash out of badly. Gym Leaders lose their licenses after too many losses, so most times they just bribe challengers to go away so they can keep their comfy positions. The washed out trainers are often left poor and desperate, many turning to crime (implicitly explaining where groups like Team Rocket get all those recruits from).
Speaking of trainers, Ash is the unwanted bastard child of one. His dad accidentally knocked up Delia when they were both just 18, then subsequently used wanting to become a Pokémon trainer as an excuse to abandon his pregnant girlfriend. Delia, for her part, loves her son, but also somewhat resents him for “robbing” her of her youth and derailing the modeling career she hoped to have. When Ash leaves to become a trainer himself, Delia is - on some level - happy to be rid of him.
Ash’s hometown of Pallet Town is a poverty-stricken cesspool with few jobs and rampant crime. It’s hugely affected by the aforementioned “kids ruining their lives to run off and try and be Pokémon trainers” thing.
The reason there are Pokémon instead of normal animals is because all the real world animals are extinct. Pokémon outcompeted them into extinction.
Pikachus will die if they use up too much electricity too fast. Also, Nurse Joy tells Ash to NOT use a Thunderstone to force-evolve Pikachu because using stones to prematurely evolve Pokémon causes health problems, such as force-evolved Raichus accidentally electrocuting themselves into cardiac arrest. Meaning when you use evolution stones on Pokémon, you’re functionally pumping them full of steroids or growth hormones.
The reason for all the Officer Jennys is because nearly all of Kanto’s police force is funded and run by a single family, with all the nepotism that implies.
Brock has so many siblings because his mom is a super-mega-turbo-slut. Her kids come from NINE different fathers.
Ash being able to leave home at 10 years old to become a Pokémon trainer is because 10 year olds are considered legal adults. Think about the implications of that.
There probably would’ve been more but the books ended at volume two because Shudo died in 2010. All of this is decidedly non-canon as Shudo wasn’t allowed to include any of it in the show (wonder why 🤔). But it IS horrifyingly hilarious how an official Pokémon writer outdid nearly all the edgelord internet memes.

Photo of me hijacking the next Pokémon Staff Meeting:
(This isn’t just a way for me to get your attention with a popular meme, lol)
This is something that’s been bothering me and I’ve only seen a few other people say it, but I feel like it should be more widespread:
If you wanna do a story-focused Pokémon game, then you gotta have actual protagonists. Not just nameless blank canvases!
While the blank-slate player character worked for gens 1-4, where the main focus was the mechanics and other playable features, things started to get a bit more dull for gens 5-6, where weaker characters came in and got a lot more focus.
Gen 5 at least had Bianca, who had a really good arc for me and other memorable characters, such as Elesa and Lenora, who both played some part in the story. I’d consider this the transitioning point for the series. N was pretty good as well.
Gen 6 itself was fine, since it introduced mega evolution and kept the focus on the battles. However, most of the characters were as dull as dishwater. Not good for a game that had quite a bit of more and story.
Gen 7 has the biggest issue with this. The protagonist barely emotes and they’re basically dragged around by the other characters who also barely get any development. Hell, there’s no fossil pokemon and the story is extremely boring. You’re more like an audience member to other people’s boring stories than anything else.
I’m not gonna go into the Ultra Games, as while they do fix some of my gripes and add some neat feature, the same criticisms apply.
Exceptions go to Lillie, Hau, and Gladion, who had pretty compelling stories and character arcs. So, why not just put us through either Lillie’s or Hau’s story? They both live in the same starter village and a different story depending on whether they’re a boy or girl would give people reason to replay the game.
Kukui could reccomend that Lillie takes part in the island trials. She then goes through a story of defying her mother, finding herself, and learning to take care of Nebby. On the other hand, Hau realizes that he doesn’t have to be like his grandfather and he forged his own path. Both ending in defeating the evil and becoming the first Pokémon champion. You can still dress them up and change their “nickname”, but they’re still their own character that you play as. (And you still get to pick their team and battle, of course)
I don’t wanna do a whole rewrite of Sun and Moon (right now), but just shine a light on how these games had two protagonists ready to be player characters and that it was kinda wasted.
Basically, take a note out of Mystery Dungeon’s book, Gamefreak. The protags don’t have to be fully named and pre-designed characters like I used, but at least give them some dialogue and some personality. Why do they want to go on this journey? Are they being pressured into it?
I’m not gonna go into Sword and Shield, since it’s a can of worms on it’s own.

Huh.. none I think. The only games in series I really play is from Pokémon and Zelda and I’m definitely not tired of them lol
11. Do you prefer ‘blank slate’ main characters you make yourself or otherwise project onto, or characters with a set personality and backstory?
I like both! It’s fun making characters in a game (I have so many for Skyrim) but it’s also fun playing with established characters.

1F-1I - Eevee & Co.: these may be the most iconic pokémon I did the worst jobs on. Trash across the board. C- for effort.
1J - Psyduck: I think I’m gonna give myself one verbal deployment of the Pam-Beesly-they’re-the-same-picture meme per post and this one is it for post number 2. This is what photorealism looks like.
2F - Golduck: I think where I went wrong here is that I went for sort of a simmering, seething fury as opposed to the more external explosive rage that should characterize Golduck.
2G - Jigglypuff: Stunning. A model.
2H-2I - Clefairy and Clefable: I think these guys would do fairly well in some sort of clefairy-and-clefable impersonation contest, like they could pull these characters off for Snatch Games on Drag Race for sure, but there is no denying that that is not clefairy or clefable.
2J - Farfetch’d: Turns out I'm almost as bad at drawing leeks as I am at drawing birds. Who knew. Also I’m very sorry for the blatant unibrow erasure in this image.
3F-3H - Abra, Kedabra, and Alakazam: Sooo... none of these guys are...... great.... (Abra gets points for cuteness but not for accuracy)
3I-4F - Machop, Machoke, and Machamp: Ok, I got off to a rocky start on this one, I’ll admit it. But I think my hideous machop grew into his looks with each evolution. I’d go so far as to call my machamp “pretty ok”
4G-5G - lady nidos and then dude nidos: on the one hand, yes, they’re hideous. But on the other hand, I am SHOCKED at how recognizable most of them turned out. I will admit, however, that I totally forgot what nidorino looked like, specifically that he is not bipedal.
5H - Venonat: genuinely nailed it.
5I - Venomoth: nailed it, but like how they say it on the show “Nailed It!” every time they reveal the ugliest fucking cake you have ever seen in your life.
5J-6G - Geodude, Graveler and Golem: admittedly there isn’t much to remember for these guys, design-wise, but I’m still proud of them. Might be my most consistantly successful evolutionary group of three other than starters.
6H-6I - Growlithe and Arcanine: they may be derpy boys, but they’re still good boys.
6J - Electabuzz: Frankly way way better than I expected. Might in fact take the prize for biggest positive discrepancy between expectations and reality.
7F-7G - Voltorb and Electrode: Yeah, so.... the fact that I remembered a) which of these came first and b) which had white/red on bottom vs. top was pure dumb luck. I absolutely did not remember which name goes with which, that I had to look up. Sue me for being a fake nerd, I dare you.
7H-7I - Sandshrew and Sandslash: my perfect lil guys. (I am bummed I forgot the giant claws on sandslash though, given that... you know... “slash” is in the name.)
7J - Zubat: *sigh* I mean, not bad per se, but I know I could have done better.
8F - Golbat: objectively worse than zubat, but something about her delights me
8G-8H - Koffing and Weezing: I probably should be less proud of these two considering how simple they are, but aside from flipping weezing around and forgetting that koffing is smiling, I think I absolutely nailed them both in accuracy and in....... I don’t know... gestalt?
8I - Lapras: I truly, deeply expected better on this one. How did she end up so fucking long????
8J-9F - Mankey and Primape: I’m pretty happy with these, especially with remembering primape’s jewelry and lil popped vein. Unfortunately I remembered that they don’t have mouths only after looking at the mouth I drew on mankey and thinking “wait, fuck, no”
9G-9H - Krabby and Kingler: I’ll be the first to admit that I suck at drawing claws, but otherwise I honestly think these lil dudes came out perfect?
9I - Tauros: Perfect, no notes.
9J - Magmar: up there with electabuzz in the “shocked at how well I did actually” crew. I was definitely drawing a blank for a minute before my mind spontaneously supplied the words “duck face butt head” and it came together pretty well after that.
10F-10H - Dratini, Dragonair and Dragonite: proportions are far from perfect, but I’m mostly happy with these three. Dratini is adorable, as well he should be.
10I-10J - Staryu and Starmie: okay so it was probably a little fair that when I showed this to my friend and said I was happy with these two, his response was basically “yeah, congratu-fucking-lations, you know how to draw a star” but....... I’m happy with these two, fuck you.

Leaf from Pokémon!!
This is gonna be an interesting one, because she’s a “blank slate” protagonist, but here we go!
Sexuality Headcanon: Gay as FUCK. To the surprise of nobody
Gender Headcanon: Okay, this is gonna be a hot take, but... Red is just Leaf, pre-transition. Look at Red:
And now at her:
They have the same haircut and hair color, Leaf’s is just longer in the back. They also have the same eye color and face. They even have the exact same color pallet in their clothing, the colors are just arranged differently! The only colors that aren’t mapped from the other’s color scheme are the VS Seeker’s, which they get during their adventure. I like to imagine that Leaf isn’t a “forgotten” character because she IS Red, just a depiction of him as a trans girl.

A ship I have with her: See, shipping her is a bit awkward because the ages of Pokemon characters are often hard to pinpoint (though we know Leaf is 11 during FRLG), so I’m gonna say May from RSE! I like to imagine they met when Leaf helped fix Celio’s machine and connected to Hoenn.
A BROTP I have with her: I have a few characters I like to imagine she’s friends with, namely Blue, who I like to think eventually apologized to her for being such a dick during their adventure and not even being a good sport when he lost the champion title, Lance, who upon her becoming champion realized “Wait a minute, this is a baby” and did his best to mentor her on her new responsibilities and where to go forward from there, Erika, who put two and two together when she saw how shy Leaf was around the girls in her gym, and let her in on the little secret that Celadon Gym was a haven for girls who liked girls, and Blaine, who was sort of like her weird but smart grandpa. Oh, and her Pokemon of course, but that goes without saying!
A NOTP I have with her: Uhhh... any boys, I guess, but particularly Red since I think of them as different depictions of the same character, and shipping the female protagonist with the male one feels... I dunno, forced?
A random headcanon: I’m gonna give a handful, seeing as she’s a blank slate protag: despite most depictions of her choosing one of the other two, I like to think she chose Charmander. (And that her Charizard maintained a reddish hue even after evolving from Charmeleon, hence the Smash alt). Her favorite NES games (because you have an NES in FRLG) are Kirby’s Adventure, Super Mario Bros. 3, and The Legend of Zelda. (Blue really likes Mega Man, but she doesn’t enjoy that sort of difficulty in her games, which he used to pick on her for). She caught a Dratini in the Safari Zone, which she raised despite suggestions that she wait because of how difficult it is to raise dragons, and her Dragonair evolved into Dragonite during the Elite 4 battle against Lance.Oh, and she envies Lorelei’s Pokedoll collection!
General opinion of her: An extremely good gal, who has the misfortune of standing in the shadow of her male counterpart. (Something Lance also suffers from, Red is kind of an overpowering presence) I knew Smash Ultimate was going to be great when she and Dark Meta Knight were playable as alts!
