please how did you come up with her design I've been trying to make a design for my poppy playtime oc but it always ends up looking like rubbish please give tips😭😭

Hello, thank you for asking! Truth be told is that it took me a bit to figure out how to do LoolaLamb in general, she didn't come out too well on the first try xD I had to tweak a couple of things in her like the hair, colors or snout.

Initially, I wasn't quite sure of what animal picking for her, but then I went with the lamb idea for a few reasons:

- When I was little, I used to have a lamb plush I used to love dearly. Sadly I don't have any pictures to show since I no longer have it with me so I tried to look for one that looked similar on the Internet- But that was the main inspiration for her character. And since the Smiling Critters have their own plushies as well, I thought it would be interesting to make one of them after a real toy. I also took reference from other characters in media that were based on sheeps, like in Pokémon (Flaaffy & Whimsicott).

I would always recommend using references if you ever don't know where to start with a design. And in the case of a Poppy Playtime OC, you can look for references if you desire as well, or even turn a beloved toy of yours into a character, anything works!

In many cultures, the lamb is a revered symbol of innocence, purity, and sacrifice. It is often associated with religious connotations, particularly in Christianity, where it symbolizes the embodiment of Christ's innocence and the sacrificial lamb offering redemption and atonement for humanity's sins. I simply liked the symbology of this because I'm always a sucker for that when it comes to creating characters;;

This was mainly due to lore reasons, her association with Catnap, a follower of an entity, the Prototype, whom he workships and would do anything to get its blessing. LoolaLamb "sacrified" her voice for the Prototype (well, it actually was that Catnap took away her voicebox with that excuse).

Her name "LoolaLamb" is a word play for "lullaby", given the role she was going to have in the Smiling Critters line, a replacement for Catnap who would have a similar role as his, except that instead of using a gas to make people fall asleep, she would use her voice. Sheeps and lambs are also heavily associated with sleep and dreams, given the advice: if you can't get to sleep, just “count sheep” until you drift off into a peaceful slumber.

Sheep are wanderers. It's their nature. Even in the best and safest of places, places that provide protection, water, and food, sheep are known to wander off, get lost, and sometimes eaten by predators.

Her color pick was mainly because even if the smiling critters have more or less the colors of the rainbow and there are already two blue colored critters (Bubba Bubbaphant being more of a neutral blue or azure and Craftycorn cyan or aquamarine), I noticed that there were no dark blue or indigo colored ones. My first idea for LoolaLamb was to give her more violet colors, given her correlation to Catnap, but at the same time I wanted her to stand out amongst the others, being a little more of her own character, so that´s why I ended up picking a different color pallete for her.

And those are pretty much the basic things I had in mind when creating LoolaLamb! Of course it doesn't always have to be so elaborated with all characters, but I'd always recommend to find references, information, symbolism, anything that might help you with the creation of your character in case you don't know where to start or are simply stuck!

Always hate when people talk about Team Plasma cause it almost always leads to "ugh Team Plasma is so dumb they're hypocrites and their grunts make no sense"

Like, that's the damn point. Plasma is basically a cult disguised in a front to help Pokémon and a good chunk of grunts are manipulated to think they are doing the right thing even if from an outside perspective it looks flawed. Why do you think BW2 has former grunts trying to reclaim the name trying to do whats right and to atone?

I don't think it's a writing flaw to have characters be hypocrites in this case cause it's clear Ghetsis and the sages aren't trying to do good, they're trying to manipulate both outside Plasma and within it. Just kinda tired of people ignoring/glossing over how Plasma is pretty much a cult and not just another pure evil team

Hello, Rotomblr! We know we've done some bad things in the past and we Don't blame you for being mad at us. But we hope that we can someday atone for what we did. That's why for the past five years we at Team Aqua and Team Magma have put aside our differences to form the Aqua-Magma Sanctuary.

Officially endorsed by the Hero of Hoenn, Mare Birch (@aura-acolyte), her uncle and Hoenn's regional professor Professor Birch, and the Champion of Hoenn himself Steven Stone, we seek to work towards the betterment of people and Pokémon by taking in Pokémon that have been injured, traumatized, rendered incapable of living in the wild, or otherwise abused (Kai Note: we will also accept Pokémon you simply do not have the resources to care for anymore) and protecting them.

Leaders Archie and Maxie

The leaders of the Aqua-Magma Conservatory, Archie and Maxie have realized the error in their ways and reformed Teams Aqua and Magma into a force for good. Archie is an ex-member of the Hoenn Navy and, despite his looks, has a degree in Marine Biology. Maxie is an intelligent and analytical scientist with a degree in Geophysics. (Nicky note: They're also dating, heh heh).

Admins Matt, Shelly, Tabitha, and Courtney

The admins of Aqua-Magma, they make sure things get done while Archie and Maxie deal with paperwork. Matt's a tough guy who loves a good fight but he's a softy at heart, Shelly is like a big sister to all of us but Don't tick her off, Tabitha's a bit conceited but is a good guy once you get to know him, and Courtney's a bit odd but is fully dedicated to our goal.

Grunts

The rank and file of Aqua-Magma. We do a lot of the real work around here, feeding the Pokémon, preparing the Conservatory for new Pokémon's arrival, going out and retrieving Pokémon that have been injured. Archie and Maxie wanted to just call us employees, less negative association, but we like the Grunt title do it stuck.

Gonna be honest with you, these guys and gals are a little mad. But they're good at what they do and know a lot about Pokemon. They're really helpful for figuring out how to plan out the Conservatory and what environments which Pokemon should be in.

Our talented medical professionals. In addition to these quadruplets of the Joy family we also have unrelated nurses and doctors who are a big help in healing injured Pokemon.

What bothers me about the 'N is a zoroark' theory is that it debilitates the balance of stereotype and nuance in his characterisation—specifically, it reinforces many unwittingly negative stereotypes of disability in a strongly autism-coded character.

The thing is, N might not be explicitly stated to be autistic, but the coding is there. His empathy is largely situational, being neither uniformly absent nor uniformly excessive, but a delicate balance of messianic tears and hollow gazes. His dialogue and manga depiction imply a significant degree of flat affect. The menger sponge he carries could be interpreted as evidence of hyperfixation or even a stim toy—and while the 'mathematical genius autist' trope is a little painful at times, N's depth of character and the unimportance of his massive intellect mitigate much of the potential damage done. He's a great example of how storytelling context and structure are everything. Whilst for much of the story depicts him as somewhat inhuman, his association with Ghetsis invites reader pity and sympathy for him. Pure evil villains can often rob a story of its depth, but as N is far more thematically important than Ghetsis, the latter's sheer heartlessness serves to render the former more comprehensible, and, rather ironically, more human. Ghetsis' being so black-and-white in his worldviews prevents N from being so monochrome, thus reinforcing BW's message of nuance and understanding mattering deeply. In this way, the potential damage done by N's magic-adjacent ability to hear pokémon voices is lessened. Being a supercrip is prevented if the superhero is rendered overbearingly, achingly human. The depth of N's backstory largely accommodates and justifies many other dangerous autism tropes within his character; where backstory falls short, light autism coding of other main characters compensates by showcasing that disabled people aren't a hive mind. Indeed, Bianca's poor coordination, nervousness around speech, and general presentation could be read as evidence of an autism spectrum disorder, as could Cheren's ruthless monotropism and general blunt speech. Cheren is a stereotypical portrayal; Bianca is not; together, their contrast and respective arcs largely salvage the damage done.

In N's case, the danger is that while he's granted depth and near-universally beloved by the fanbase, much of the early game relies on his being slightly in the uncanny valley. Indeed, his musical theme is one of few atonal pieces in pokémon, implicitly associating him with the likes of Giratina and Eternatus. The fan theory that establishes N as being a pokémon thus plays into his being seen as not only disabled, but fundamentally inhuman; and equating disability and inhumanity is a dangerous trope. By no means is this a condemnation of those who endorse the fan theory. What this is, rather, is a cry for contemplation of stereotypes. Do not necessarily take this as a reason to desist in a theory; only use this as reason to scrutinise.

A House Divided: The Sheikah and the Yiga

Thousands of years ago, the Ancient Sheikah created a technological utopia. Their miraculous achievements included the revival of extinct pokémon species, and the creation of thinking machines.

This golden age was brutally ended by a Hylian king. Fearful and envious of the Sheikah and their works; he ordered them to destroy their creations, or be killed. Some complied, becoming the ancestors of the modern Sheikah Tribe. Others refused, and fled into hiding; becoming the ancestors of the modern Yiga Clan.

Since then, the Sheikah have often served the Hylian royal family as bodyguards, advisors, and assassins; aided by dark-type pokémon. The Yiga, meanwhile, turned to banditry, mercenary work, and other criminal activities in order to survive; often employing fighting-type pokémon.

The Ancient Sheikah worshiped a dragon-type divine pokémon, whose name was erased from history. Legend says that when the tribe split, their divine pokémon did as well: creating Zekrom, who stayed with the Sheikah; and Reshiram, who went with the Yiga.

Steel Yourself

In recent times, the Hylians have finally begun to atone for the atrocities committed by their ancestors. Shortly after the start of her reign, the current queen formally apologized for the royal family’s crimes against the Sheikah. With her support, many Sheikah have started unearthing the technology that their ancestors were forced to bury. This work is often assisted by steel-type pokémon, which have gained considerable popularity among Sheikah tech researchers.

The Yiga, however, are suspicious of the queen’s motives; and have only escalated their attacks on the Hylian royal family and their allies.

Laugh if you want. Laugh all you want at me--always the pathetic loser to you...”

Hastings: “Gordor... Why don't you just fold up the Go-Rock Squad and shoo your followers away? Then, come join me at our lab. Your gifted abilities are sure to be of benefit to people. Well, Gordor, will you join us?”

Gordor was literally just saved from getting himself mauled by Entei, and Hastings is immediately there to be like “I think we should work together again 🥺”

Professor “I can fix him” Hastings. They really did walk so Augustine and Lysandre could run.

Gordor: “It's been a while, [Player]. The Manaphy Egg isn't just something that anyone can hold thoughtlessly. It isn't something that is simply beautiful. It contains a life. At the very least, the one who should be looking after this Egg isn't this fool!”

Grunt: “Owowowowow... Please, stop twisting my arm like that, Gordor... You abandoned the Go-Rock Squad! What made you come back like you own the place...? Owowow! OK, OK! I got it! You can have your Egg!”

*The grunt hands the egg over and flees*

Lunick/Solana: “This is... The Manaphy Egg... Gordor... What did you do after disbanding the Go-Rock Squad?”

Gordor: “I've done nothing in particular since then... I've thought a lot. I've thought about how you saved me at the very end... I felt small and ashamed of my own petty pride that was nothing next to the glare of your nobility... It was pathetic, but it was all I could do to flee in shame. But I've awakened from the nightmare. I've finally realized that what I should be doing is making amends for my crimes. I ask myself every day what I can do to make things better for people. I don't think that I can ever atone for all my misdeeds, but I must try. You are the ones who awakened me to become what I am today. And for that, I owe you a thanks. Thank you... And please, give my regards to Prof. Hastings.”

I’m starting a new playthrough of Pokémon Moon!  My team is based off of Maxie and Archie’s teams in Emerald and Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapphire.  My idea is that, after the events of Pokémon Emerald, Maxie and Archie helped each other to atone for what they did and eventually grew close and fell in love.  My player character is their son who wants to go to Alola to grow closer with nature.  Like his parents, he wants to work to protect and preserve the natural world (just without the evil stuff).  Maxie and Archie encouraged him to try the island challenge and gave him a team of five Pokémon that they bred from their own with the help of a professional breeder (hence why several of them have egg moves).  These five Pokémon are in addition to his Poochyena, which was bred from Maxie’s Mightyena, that he’s had since he was little.  Once he proved that he could take care of them all on his own, they saw him off to Alola.  His team is detailed below the cut.

Outside of the role play aspect, I just finished breeding this team in my copy of Pokémon Ultra Sun.  Now I have to start a new playthrough in Pokémon Moon and wade through the 45 minutes or so of gameplay before you can access the PC so I can transfer them over.  I have some other stuff to do right now but I can’t wait :)

It's your 13th birthday. You and Silver sit across from each other, paper plates of half-eaten cake resting in front of you. Silver's barely touched his. He swung by to tell you he was leaving Johto for a while, but your mother insisted he stay and have some cake first.

"Is she your... mom's sister, or-?"

"Obviously?" Silver shoots you a bemused look. "As if I'd want anything to do with... never mind."

You avert your gaze to your plate, counting the chocolate cake crumbs littering it. "What's she like?"

"Weirdly normal. Apparently works for an old classmate of the professor's... Krane or something?" He shrugged. "No uncle, but I've got some cousins. One's our age, the other's a kid."

"We're technically kids-"

Silver rolled his eyes. "Don't be literal. You know what I meant." His face softens, and for a moment, you wonder if he feels bad for leaving. Not that he's left yet, obviously, but he's made it more than obvious that he's planning to follow the lead Elm gave him. The past few years of atoning for stealing one of his Pokémon through assistant work had to mean something to him.

"I can't believe you're leaving," you mutter, rocking in your seat.

"Just for a few weeks. It's not going to be forever." Silver picked at the cake slice. "My aunt says there's a lot going down in Orre right now. It's like she thinks I can't protect myself or something."

Your stomach twists in knots. "Are you sure it'll be safe, then?"

He smirks, staring you down. "I'm not the one who's safety you should be worrying about."

"Are you worried about me?" You blink for a moment. "I've got my Pokémon, I'll be fine-"

"Sure you will." He frowns. Why is he frowning? He remembers the Tidal Bell in your pocket. He knows it hasn't done its job in ages. You wanted to believe the beast was slumbering beneath the sea. You knew something was wrong. You knew, and you did nothing.

Before he leaves, you draw him into the biggest hug you can manage. You don't know what came over you, or what compelled you.

Perhaps you knew it was the last time he'd see you alive.

Overall? The Unova games probably have the best-written evil team that I’ve had a chance to see.

They’re definitely the most realistic evil team. Some of the members knew Ghetsis’ true intentions and joined him anyway. Others genuinely believed in the ideals Team Plasma were espousing, only realizing after the fact how wrong they were. Heck, in the sequels they’ve split into two factions, one that follows Ghetsis, the other seeking to atone for their wrongdoings by helping people and Pokémon however they can.

Colress is also probably the most interesting take on the “amoral scientist” archetype that I’ve seen. His motivations appear to stem from scientific curiosity more than anything, and while he did team up with Ghetsis for a time, he’s also the one who ultimately disbands Team Plasma (and it’s hinted that they didn’t always see eye-to-eye in the first place). He’s willing to do what it takes to bring out the potential in Pokémon, whether it’s moral or not, but is willing to admit when there’s a better way of going about things.

He’s really quite an interesting character, and while I would like to know what led him to team up with Team Plasma, it might take away the mystique that forms his appeal as an anti-villain of sorts.

Listen Anon. Listen very closely because this is very important: TEAM AQUA AND TEAM MAGMA ARE NOT BAD GUYS! Yes, they did bad things in the past. I am intimately familiar with this fact, just as my fist is intimately familiar with Maxie's face. As you may remember, I am the one who stopped them.

Archie and Maxie realize that what they did is wrong. Towards the end they were fully possessed by their Legendaries of choice (who have also turned over a new leaf apparently). Both of them willingly turned themselves in. They did their time and their community service. And they continue to do community service by actually working to rescue Pokemon who are hurt or suffering.

I don't blame you for not liking them or forgiving them. It's pretty hard to look past almost causing the apocalypse. But I will not, I repeat, will not accept this kind of slander. You wanna know who stepped up to rescue people and Pokémon during the Shadow Sky? Aqua and Magma. They've made mistakes and they're trying to atone for them. Maybe they'll never truly be able to but they're trying and that's what matters.

UT POKÉMON TEAMS

...Omega Flowey 👁👄👁

1. Malamar: This Pokémon forces others to do its bidding, much like how Flowey forces the SOULs to attack Frisk during his fight. It is a Pokémon associated with villains and is thought to be the blame behind many horrible, history-changing events. This Pokémon evolves from Inkay, a Pokémon on Chara's team, symbolizing Flowey's connection to Chara and his secret desire to have them back. It also represents Flowey's evolution from a timid child to a manipulator.

2. Trevenant: An evolved form of Asriel's Phantump, it is a Pokémon formed by the soul of a dead child. When it evolves into Trevenant, its root system can control an entire forest. It traps people in forests so they can never leave, the same way Flowey traps Frisk in a loop of torture. Other creatures can live in its body the way the human SOULs inhabit Flowey's body.

3. Ferrothron: This steel and grass type Pokémon looks like the thorny bits of Omega Flowey's body. It is also said to live in caves and caverns. The dual steel and grass typing is a perfect match to Omega Flowey's mis-mashed, eldritch horror form that pulls from organic matter like plants and animals and inorganic matter like a television and wires.

4. Tyranitar: Its name comes from the word "Tyrant". Tyranitar devours whole mountains and can level them in an instant. It is a Pokémon inspired by kaiju, giant Japanese monsters sometimes created through large amounts of nuclear radiation (a nod to the atomic bombs Flowey drops). It is said to have an impudent and insolent nature, so it doesn't care about others. Its body is also supposed to be impervious to physical attacks, like Omega Flowey. It wanders through mountains seeking opponents to fight.

5. Drifblim: Drifblim evolves from Drifloon, a balloon-like Pokémon that appears harmless but can steal away children and take their souls. Drifblim itself is known for its ability, "Aftermath," which causes a huge explosion (another reference to Omega Flowey's fire and bomb based attacks). According to its Pokédex entry, "The raw material for the gas inside its body is souls."/"Some say this Pokémon is a collection of souls burdened with regrets."

6. Coragrigus: This Pokémon looks like a ghost possessing a coffin. It evolves from Yamask, a Pokémon that used to be a human and misses its human life. Cofagrigus steals souls and traps people and Pokémon in its body, wrapping then up and mummifying them to keep them trapped forever. A comparison can be made to Flowey's vines, wrapping people up and keeping them trapped. Like Omega Flowey, this Pokémon possesses several human-like limbs. According to its Pokédex entry: "People say it no longer remembers that it was once human."

As for Omega Flowey's Legendary and Mythical... I chose Necrozma and Spiritomb.

Necrozma: Necrozma steals all light and causes the death of stars; it said to sleep underground. It takes over other Pokémon to steal their light/energy, the way Flowey takes over and uses the human SOULs for power. It is also a nod to the Legendary associated with Asriel, Cosmog. In the Pokémon franchise, Necrozma is the enemy of Cosmog and its evolved forms, Lunala and Solgaleo, stealing their light and taking over their bodies. It's a representation of Flowey's new identity replacing Asriel, and the change he's gone through as a person since he came back as a flower.

Spiritomb: Spiritomb is a Pokémon formed by multiple souls trapped in a Keystone. It is unclear whether every soul in Spiritomb is evil, or just a few. In the Japanese legend that inspired this Pokémon, 108 demons are released from a stone and wreck havoc on the world before they atone for their sins and become the 108 stars. This is an allusion to Flowey's battle, during which the corrupted SOULs become good and begin helping Frisk.

So, I'm finally gonna get around to doing something I should have done months ago, and post a summary of my Pokémon Legends: Arceus OC Trainer, named Morgan. Attached is a commission of her, done by @scalizo_art on Twitter.

Morgan is a woman who prefers to keep her distance from others. While she’ll help you out with whatever problems you may have, it’s usually only because you put a request on the Galaxy Team’s help-wanted bulletin board. She doesn’t make a lot of friends, preferring to only keep a small, close-knit group. This even extends to her team of Pokémon; despite having caught hundreds over the course of several years, more than enough to complete her Arceus-given mission, she sticks with the same six or seven Pokémon that she was able to truly bond with ever since she started her “journey” in Hisui at age 16-17.

In front of most people, she’s polite and approachable, though she’ll likely keep them at an arm’s distance. However, when she’s on her own (or alone with certain close friends like Irida), Morgan shows a much different side: one that is listless, cynical, paranoid, and overall just plain depressed. Kamado’s impulsive accusation that she was responsible for the space-time rift really hurt her, especially since that rumor continues to persist within Jubilife Village several years after she worked so hard to close said rift. While Kamado has tried his best to atone and make things right with Morgan, she makes it clear that she still hasn’t forgiven him, especially when quite a few of the villagers still distrust her after everything. Volo’s betrayal cut even deeper, solidifying a sense of cynicism and distrust within her that she has yet to overcome.

Morgan doesn’t consider herself a heroic person, and often wonders why Arceus chose her of all people. However, when push comes to shove, she's willing to risk her life for the greater good. She won’t say what it is, but she has something worth fighting for.
