Phione is a small water Pokemon
Phione Akari occasionally sprays around water when she’s upset.
She also wants Ingo to take care of himself more while they search for her body.
…
Fun idea: whenever Akari believes that Ingo needs a hydration break and drink something she tries to spray some water in his face; specifically in his mouth.
Would be unfortunate if it’s sea water but it would be a nice gesture and obvious enough for Ingo to realize the suggestion.
Also we talked about how Phione constantly has to be on alert because of bird Pokemon but I can see the sun also becoming a bit of a problem for her too. There are a lot of occasions where she hides under Ingos hat.
All it takes is once or twice, and Ingo never forgets to take a water break again; he’s not very fond of the reminders at all! (The saltwater-in-the-mouth incident would probably be what did it haha)
And yes!! Akari has lots of places to hide both from the hot sun and pesky bird pokemon — under Ingo’s hat, his coat collar or pockets, or sometimes even his own hands.
Though sometimes if he’s holding her, he isn’t always aware of where she’s ended up hiding by the end of these incidents.

"Are you waiting on a train?"
You may need to click on the image for better resolution.
Some context for the image under the cut:
It was common for Pokemon and items to slip through the space-time distortions. What made this occasion memorable was that an entire train station platform slipped through during the night.
Akari went to investigate when she heard the report. Despite it being early in the morning, she wasn't the first one to arrive. Ingo was there, sitting on a bench, deep in thought.
"Hey, Ingo," Akari greeted as she sat down beside him, cradling her sleeping Rowlet, "Are you waiting on a train?"
"Good morning, Miss Akari," Ingo said, blinking as if waking from a dream. "I'm afraid no trains will be coming into the station today. The tracks stop after a point, uncoupling this station from its sister stop."
"Maybe they'll be reconnected one day? After we sort out this whole space-time distortion stuff."
"That would be the most favorable outcome, yes."
Ingo relapsed into his thoughts, a shadow cast over him. A hush fell over the trio.
When the sun rose far enough into the sky to burn away some of the fog hanging around the station, Ingo finally stood up and readjusted his worn out hat.
"Let's prepare for departure, Miss Akari! It's an excellent day to make tracks in your journey."
"Yes, let's!" Akari sprang up, eager to start the day.
