You know, I bet that the general police force really likes Conan, like, adores him. I can imagine them secretly giving him snacks and drinks and whispering things they found out to him so he can solve things easier like
"Heya conan i hear *very important clue* was found *very important place*... mind teaching that new inspector a lesson on being overconfidant?"
"Here conan, take this candy and drink, you seem tired"
and ect. it's no wonder they do literally everything he asks them too, no matter how weird the request was.

On September 29th 1800 the City of Glasgow Police force was established.
Another English myth busted, this was almost 30 years before the London Metropolitan Police came about.
In the 17th century, Scottish cities used to hire watchmen to guard the streets at night, augmenting a force of unpaid citizen constables. Of course Edinburgh had their own “Town Guard, a fore-runner to a police force.
Glasgow petitioned Parliament in 1800 and the City of Glasgow Police force was born on 29 September 1800. John Stenhouse, a city merchant, was appointed Master of Police and he set about organising and recruiting the force.
Stenhouse appointed three sergeants and six police constables, dividing them into sections of one sergeant and two police constables to each section. On 15 November, the Glasgow Police mustered in the Session House of the Laigh Kirk, Trongate, for the first time. There were three reliefs. One sergeant and two police officers were on duty in the Police Office for twenty-four hours. Stenhouse was awarded a salary of £200 per annum; also appointed were two sergeants, six officers, and sixty-eight watchmen. The watchmen were paid 10s per week. In 1825, the New Central Police Office opened in South Albion St, as seen in the pic.
The other section on patrol duty and the third section was entitled to rest for twenty-four hours. The sixty-eight watchmen were also there in their long brown coats with their personal numbers painted on their backs. Each carried a lantern and long stave. They would man fixed points within the City while the police officers patrolled to prevent crime.
It was from these modest beginnings that the Glasgow Police embarked on more than 220 years of service to the City, although the title of Glasgow City Police was lost in 1975 when it amalgamated with Strathclyde Police, and since then it has become Police Scotland‘
Oh and those silly people down south? Well when London’s Metropolitan Police Force attempted to claim themselves as the original police force the Advertising Standards Authority reprimanded them, they gave a written undertaking never to repeat this claim again. Peels police force wasn't established until 1829. The internet however is a law unto itself and the falsehood that London had the first police force is often falsely given

As a European, I've just been shocked to death to learn that it takes around six months to become an EMT or a police officer in the USA??
To compare, in my country, to work in an ambulance, you must complete minimum a three year vocational college degree (Vocational Qualification in Social and Health Care, Emergency Practical Nurse) or, more commonly, a four year university degree (Bachelor of Health Care, Paramedics). If you have completeled a Bachelor of Health Care, Registered Nurse, you need to take another 30 study points (around six months) to further educate yourself to get a qualification to work in an ambulance. (There's also a specialized masters program for the development and management of emergency care: Master of Health Care, Paramedics).
To work in the police force, you must complete a four year Bachelor of Police Services, which is naturally a university. You study things such as laws and how to implement them, criminal investigation, use of force (legalities, minimal use of force whenever possible), negotiation and communication skills, and criminology, but they also have a certain number of courses booked for optional courses that they can choose from things like sociology or various different languages that help them to better communicate with people.
All these studies require writing a thesis as a part of the graduation process, as well as completing certain hours of practical work in internships.
Having grown up with these requirements, it's absolutely mindblowing for me how someone can become a police or a paramedic with less than a year worth of studies??

"SALARIES OF THE POLICE," Daily British Whig (Kingston. Ontario). March 24, 1913. Page 4.
The members of the police force have asked the commissioners for an increase in their salaries, and it is certain that if the petition of the men is not granted there will be several resignations. This can be said with- tout suggesting anything that can be regarded as dictatorial on the part of the department.
Some months ago the men were giv en an increase of pay, but it could not be regarded as anything but temporary in its character and effect. The value of service generally has been tending upward, and it would be remarkable if it did not affect the employees of the city. The mistake of the council and of the commissioners is in dealing with the salary question without considering the situation as it concerns all the men in all the departments of civic government.
The men engaged in connection with the public works were given an increase of wage, the current rate being $1.62 per day, for the lower grade, and 82 per day for the higher and better grade. These rates were out of harmony with the rates paid in the police department, and there was bound to be discontent in time. Not because labour in any form was not recognized and rewarded, but because there was not a general application of the theory regarding compensation.
The police tariff, at present prevailing, is absurdly low. For first year men the wage is $45 per month; for second year men, $50 per month; for third year men, $55 per month. Sergeants are paid $65 per month. All men are allowed $55 per year for clothing, and they are expected to have on' hand, and in good condition, three suits and an overcoat. Good men, active, useful and energetic, cannot be retained by the commissioners upon these terms, and the fact may as well be faced, and at once.
The Whig has glanced over the city by-laws the ordinances which are calculated to make for peace and order - and it can see how the police may be much more serviceable than they are. The report of the department is not satisfactory. It gives the number of arrests, and the number of offences in the year, but locking up drunken men and acting on the complaints which some people make do not represent the highest and most effective service which the police can render. In other places they are the educators of the masses, and the police would be the educators of the masses here, so far as the city by laws are concerned, if they were instructed to this end.
The pay of the department should be increased, and the sergeants and men should be invited to confer and suggest how they can serve the people better, and the Whig will be very much disappointed if, as a result of this conference, the people will not have in the police more active agents in every good work.

How common are domestic violence disputes?
I’m specifically directing this question towards the Australian police force, even more specifically anyone who works in the QLD police force, but if you work in another country/area, your answers would be appreciated and highly regarded as well.
How often are you called out for DV disputes, particularly between spouses, but just in general as well? Is it quite common?
I’m working on an assignment for university and would appreciate if anyone could answer this for me with their personal experience. How frequently are you called to these kinds of scenes?

“DUFRESNE PRAISES MONTREAL POLICE,” Montreal Star. November 8, 1932. Page 3 & 11. --- Director Willing to Compare Local Force With Any Other ---- The new police radio service will not be inaugurated before the end of the week more likely the beginning of next week, Director Fernand Dufresne stated this morning. He is glad to be back in the harness again after his trip to Rome, and is quite well satisfied with the way in which the police force has operated during his absence and the condition in which he finds on his return.
His trip to Europe has filled him with a greater appreciation than ever of his home town and a full measure of pride in the police force over which he presides, If he is given the more commodious quarters that he has asked for, he is prepared to contend that Montreal's police force will stand comparison with any organization of its kind on this continent.
ATTENDED FUNCTIONS During his stay in Rome, in addition to the sessions of the international convention of police heads which he went there to attend, he and his fellow delegates took part in a number of ceremonial functions, principal among which were the laying of wreaths on the tomb of the unknown Italian soldier and the commemoration of the tenth anniversary of the Inauguration of the Metropolitan Police in Italy. Dr. Brendt, head of the Austrian police, laid a wreath on the military tomb in the name of the police officers in convention.
During the gathering, at the instigation of the American delegation, a resolution was passed appointing a committee to meet representatives of the American Association of Police Chiefs, with a view to fostering closer co-operation between American and European police authorities and the maintenance of a fuller documentation regarding international criminals.
It was not entirely a pleasure trip, the chief said. “First, there is the long sea voyage. I am a good sailor. I do not get sick. But there is not much to do on board ship. Then the long train journey. I prefer our trains to those in Europe. And arrived in Rome, a week of hard work at the convention sessions and attending official function which are sometimes hard work, too."
LUGGAGE LOST To make matters less agreeable, the chief's luggage got lost and he found himself handicapped by the lack of his principal trunk during his first few days in Rome. Fortunately, he arrived there a few days ahead of time and the trunk turned up before the convention had gone very far. Meantime, however, he had had to buy a lot of new clothes to carry on with until the baggage came to light.
He did not go sight-seeing. He had no time. All his time while in Rome was taken up with the convention and he had little leisure for pleasure seeking. Everyone was very cordial and courteous, the authorities at Rome and his 'fellow delegates to the convention, who came from all parts of Europe as well as from Canada and the United States. Practically all the European delegates were Government officials, as in most European countries the police force is a Government organisation under control of an officer of the Government.
GLAD TO BE HOME "I am glad to be back home and I appreciate Montreal more than ever,” he concluded. "And I think very highly of the organisation of our Montreal police force, an organisation which I do not take any credit for. It was set up by others long before. If I can get the building that I want for Montreal force, it will stand comparison with any force of any kind anywhere on this continent," he concluded. The chief was downtown bright and early this morning, renewing contact with the business of the police force. Later in the forenoon, he crossed to the City Hall and called on the members of the Executive Committee.

I've finally brought security breach as my last childish buy
So yeah, expect fnaf content.
I have a meeting this Friday about a apprenticeship so this is generally my last childish buy as if I get this apprenticeship I'll be paying rent and having to save my money appropriately so I can eventually move out.
Adulthood, am I right?
I'm kinda nervous as I have social anxiety and it's the police force. But I refuse to work in retail again.
