You have the kind of penis autism that causes delusions. You see women where there are no women. Get help.
alright so you’re most likely a radfem who’s mad at me because i said to stop pretending like you’re the victim when a trans woman gets mad at you for attacking them. but holy shit this ask is baffling. penis autism. huh.

I love shopping at niche online merch shops that really shouldn't exist, like the Heinz 57 Apparel Store and the Whataburger Gift Shop. One of my favorites is the USPS "gifts" section of the website, because it's mostly very elegant prints of commemorative stamps, and then once in a while just tosses some wild-ass shit out there.
Like Farley.
Tumblr media
Farley is an anthropomorphic postbox. He's extremely shaped.
I thought maybe he was some kind of new mascot but as far as I can tell he's just a stuffed postbox retailing for $15. He appears to be named for James Aloysius Farley, postmaster general from 1933-40, but I do not know why. Ah, sweet mysteries of life.
[ID: A screengrab from the USPS website of a stuffed toy; it is shaped like a USPS mail receptacle, a tall blue bin with four legs. The toy has a US Mail stamp on the side and a beaming face where the mail slot would normally be.]

Here's what I want the post office to implement: an indirect address.
So like, you could send a letter or package to "Foone Turing, #4826394726".
They internally have a database that links those to real addresses. They sell access to it for UPS/FedEx/etc, with penalties for leaking any lookups for it.
Whenever you move, the indirect address automatically changes with you, just like how address forwarding is handled today.
The point would be that you could give out this address in relative safety. It doesn't reveal where you live, it's just a way to direct mail your way.
Unless someone is willing to send you a bomb, it's safe from stalking. It doesn't tell anyone how to find your house, or even what city you live in, like a p.o. box would.
I'm sure there's very technical/legislative reasons why they haven't done this already, but it's my dream that they just implement this for everyone and suddenly everyone has a secondary address that's safer to use.

"You are smirking at me, Moist!"
No, I've frozen because I've just heard what my mouth said, Moist thought. I don't have a clue, I've just got some random thoughts. It's...
"It's about desert islands," he said. "And why this city isn't one."
"And that's it?"
Moist rubbed his forehead. "Miss Cripslock, Miss Cripslock...this morning I got up with nothing in mind but to seriously make headway with the paperwork and maybe lick the problem of that special 25p Cabbage Green stamp. You know, the one that'll grow into a cabbage if you plant it? How can you expect me to come up with a new fiscal initiative by teatime?"
"All right, but--"
"It'll take me at least until breakfast."
Terry Pratchett, Making Money

Hi Eddie! If you ever have any spare time to, what are your favorite kinds of books to read? I prefer comics, fairytale, and spooky stories myself.

Every time I think about the United States Postal Service handling 44% of the world's mail without any tax or other government-funding dollars supporting it.
How it is written into the Constitution.
How there is a Smithsonian museum.
It is far from perfect -- and I'll be damned before I claim anything is sacred from improvement or criticism --
-- and it's one fine institution, I tell you what.

For pocket change you can get a piece of paper and write from and have delivered to anyone in this country. And for a bit more than pocket change, and not much at that, most places in the world.
