"Day of The Jackal FIRST LOOK: Eddie Redmayne is every inch the suave assassin while filming Sky's 'modern reimagining' of the thriller in Croatia", Daily Mail, November 6, 2023.

Eddie Redmayne was seen for the first time on the set of Sky's  new TV adaption of The Day of The Jackal in Croatia on Monday.

The British actor, 41, cut a suave figure as he shot scenes as assassin known as the Jackal, originally played by Edward Fox in the classic 1973 film. 

Eddie was dressed all in black and teamed a sweater with smart trousers for the shoot which took place in a busy market.

The Oscar winner could be seen chatting to the crew before jumping behind the wheel of a swanky sports car for a complex action scene. 

Originally a novel by Frederick Forsyth the story follows the story of the trained killer who is hired to is hired to assassinate French president Charles de Gaulle.

According to the Hollywood Reporter the producers, of which Eddie is one, have described the adaption as a 'bold, modern reimagining of the beloved and respected novel and film.' 

And while the series, written by Top Boy creator Ronan Bennett, will pay homage to the original it will be set in the world modern world of geo-politics.

Producer Gareth Neame said: “We are excited to bring to life Ronan Bennett’s re-imagining of Forsyth’s revered thriller in the complex world in which we live today and are incredibly fortunate to have an actor of Eddie’s calibre as our Jackal'.

It comes after Eddie  credited his parents for his successful career in a rare candid interview.

The actor said it was his father, Richard, a banker, and mother Patricia, who ran a relocation company, and their willingness to allow him to pursue  his interest in acting at an early age that allowed him to flourish in his career.

'I loved music and singing and acting at school,' the Fantastic Beast franchise star told Today's Willie Geist in an interview. 'To my parents' credit, which now as a parent myself I really do hold high, anything I had an interest in or my brothers had an interest in, they supported.' 

The future star attended the Jackie Palmer Studios Stage School in London where his classmates including James Corden, Jamie Dornan and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. 

The father of two shares Iris, seven and Luke, five, with his wife of nine years, Hannah Bagshawe.

Eddie, who won the Academy Award for his portrayal of the late physicist Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything.

In addition to the Oscar, Eddie won a Tony in 2010 for his work in Red and will soon return in a production of Cabaret after starring as Emcee in the musical in London's West End. 

Still most fans know him for his role as Newt Scamander in the Fantastic Beasts films. He's starred in three of the magical adventures, but said he isn't sure when or if a fourth is in the works.

Speaking to Indiewire the actor explained, 'It’s more a question for J. K. Rowling and David Yates and Warners, but I don’t know, I’m afraid. I can’t add to that, adding, 'I love playing Newt, he’s a sweet man".

The 2023 class is 40% women. 34% belong to underrepresented ethnic/racial communities and 52% hail from 51 countries and territories outside the United States. There are many recent Oscar nominees among the invitees, such as Austin Butler (“Elvis”), Paul Mescal (“Aftersun”), Stephanie Hsu (“Everything Everywhere All at Once”) and Kerry Condon (“The Banshees of Inisherin”). The list also includes many of the 95th ceremony’s winners, such as Ke Huy Quan (supporting actor for “Everything Everywhere All at Once”) cinematographer James Friend (“All Quiet on the Western Front”) and composer and songwriter M.M. Keeravani and Chandrabose (“Naatu Naatu” from “RRR”). Even the dynamic “RRR” lead acting duo of Ram Charan and N. T. Rama Rao Jr. have also been extended invitations, along with the film’s production designer Sabu Cyril and cinematographer K.K. Senthil Kumar.

Even “Swifties” were upset that Swift was double snubbed at last year’s nominations — for original song (“Carolina”) and live action short (“All Too Well: The Short Film”) — however, they can rest assured, seeing her join the ranks of the music branch as she continues her global tour, and has her feature directorial debut in the works.

The evolving dramatic universe centered around "NCIS" is hitting a major milestone: 1,000 combined episodes.

The April 15 episode of the original "NCIS" (9 EDT/PDT) will reach the millennial mark propelled by the "NCISverse" of shows that now spans from "NCIS: Hawaii" to "NCIS: Sydney," on CBS and Paramount+. Franchise stars from past and present were on hand for a February celebration during the filming of the episode, which features crossover stars Daniela Ruah (from now-defunct "NCIS: Los Angeles") and Vanessa Lachey (from "NCIS: Hawaii").

Two new upcoming shows – "NCIS: Origins" and the still-untitled spinoff led by Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo – were also represented at the party.

"Now it's like our own Marvel universe within 'NCIS,' which is the ultimate testament of the power of this show," says Rocky Carroll, who has portrayed Leon Vance on "NCIS" since 2008.

'NCIS' (2003 - )

"NCIS," also known as "The Mothership," is a spinoff of creator Donald Bellisario's naval legal show "JAG," which aired on NBC in 1995-96 and for nine more seasons (1997-2005) on CBS. 

Notable characters: Mark Harmon, the "NCIS" cornerstone as Leroy Jethro Gibbs, left in 2021 after nearly two decades. Other departed original characters include Weatherly's Anthony "Tony" DiNozzo, who departed in 2016 after 13 seasons, Pauley Perrette's Abby Sciuto, exiting in 2018 after 350 episodes, and David McCallum's Donald "Ducky" Mallard (the veteran actor died last year).

'NCIS: Origins' (CBS 2024-25)

Notable characters: Beloved leader Gibbs returns as a younger man for the franchise's prequel series, "NCIS: Origins," announced in March "The Hating Game" star Austin Stowell will play young Gibbs. "We weren't just casting Gibbs; we were casting a young Mark Harmon," says Stapf. "And Austin embodies it all."

Harmon, 72, will narrate and serve as executive producer. Sean Harmon, Mark's real-life son, who often played the younger version of Gibbs in flashbacks on "NCIS," will also serve as executive producer.

"Origins" follows young Gibbs as he fights for his place on the team led by NCIS legend Mike Franks. Kyle Schmid has been cast as the younger version of the Texan Franks (Muse Watson in "NCIS") who played a pivotal role in Gibbs' early career.

Untitled Tony and Ziva spinoff (CBS)

Notable characters: Fans loved the special sizzle between agents Tony DiNozzo (Weatherly) and Ziva David (Cote De Pablo, who left "NCIS" in 2013 after eight seasons). The couple, known as Tiva, announced their return in February for a European-set spinoff on Paramount+. No premiere date has been set, nor has an actor been cast to play the couple's young daughter Tali.

After Tony’s security company is attacked by terrorists, the new show features a family on the run through Europe.

How to watch: Coming to Paramount+

Flavor: Whatever the title, it's "NCIS: Tiva." In a statement, the two stars promised "an action-packed roller coaster fueled by love, danger, tears and laughter."

JUST A CRAZY ROUGHNECKS DAUGHTER:

life isn’t much of anything when you’re the middle of 11 kids. on the farm it was early to rise and early to bed, everyone had a chore and unfortunately doris, the eldest of the kids, was given childcare duty more often than not. but the perk of being the middle of 11, is the ability to disappear. her father only cared about three (four) things; god, farm, family, whiskey. her mother followed a similar path and well...granny jo wasn’t the best idol according to her mother. and so ida decided to carve her own way in the world.

you see, the thing about being number six of eleven means you get exactly zero attention. and so you go seeking your attention elsewhere. and ida found that attention in the arms of bobby perkins. she was fourteen, him seventeen, and ida was smitten from day one. he talked her up, picked her up at the bonfires when she snuck out of the house, and promised that he would take her away from eastern tennessee. and then she graduated at 17 (a year early because to everyone’s surprise ida was actually quite intelligent), and took her to the majestic land that was florida.

living in a trailer park as bobby developed a bit of a following with his promise of love and freedom, and god-fearing community, ida realized just how much she liked the spotlight. she liked when people fawned over her, when they showered her with affection, and when they believed the words that left her mouth. it was easy work for her, talking to people, making them feel heard, inviting them in to the group. this was what she was made for.

but bobby didn’t like it. he didn’t like that others started to love ida more than him, that she would say something in opposition to him. always sweetly, always veiled as compliments and adoration for him. and so he came up with the plan to dump her, to leave her stranded, to get her away from his life, his goals.

and then suddenly ida was back on her parents front porch, saying she’d been accepted at ogden with a full ride, that bobby was still in florida and she had no idea what happened to him. and then she kissed her mother and father goodbye and moved to new hampshire for her future.

JUMPED HEADFIRST INTO THE WATER:

starting college as a freshman at twenty came with a whole list of questions. she answered them easily, she needed time between high school and college to get some real world experience. she wanted to travel, to work and save her money, but she always knew she would go, and that ogden was the place.

and then a year later greer started, and ida zeroed in on her. she was perfect for ida’s ego, for her life to befriend such a golden girl. to whisper words of wisdom. but soon greer, either seeing through ida’s facade or just over it altogether, gave ida the cold shoulder.

but she was undeterred, continuing on her merry way but always keeping an eye on the campus golden girl. she laughed when others needed the comedic boost, gave out compliments to those who needed it, and offered her support as needed. but it just isn’t enough is it?

BAPTIZED AWAY MY SINS:  

looking forward, ida is hoping to continue to apply herself. charming anyone and everyone she can, collecting people in her pocket for when she needs them, making loyal friends and followers. currently she’s applying to master and phd programs, including the one at ogden, to continue her studies. and she’s keeping her eye out for the golden girl, curious to her disappearance, though a bit thrilled in the mystery. ida would never turn down the drama, and is not above going the extra mile when she’s a bit bored.

GREER:

ida entered college at age 20, with too much real-world experience it seemed. everyone was so boring at ogden, making problems out of nothing, feeding each other’s egos. and yet, ida knew what she could tap into while she was there, the wealth, the connections, the power. everything she needed, what she had never had. and enter greer, a beautiful eager girl with everything ida needed, everything she wanted to be. and so she quickly took to her side, hoping to offer friendship, advice, to mold her into the person that ida needed her to be. and it seemed to work for a while, greer maintaining her own self but still ida could clearly see her influences. until it stopped completely, greer icing her out of her life in one fell swoop. and in less than a year, ida went from building her empire and future on poor little greer, back to nothing. still she kept her tabs on greer, and she knew greer did the same. they acted polite and kind in public, a weird relationship of knowing each other but not really. ida played it off, acting as if greer was but a younger sibling to her. but to everyone else it was just an odd friendship that didn’t survive the test of time in college, nothing more and nothing less.

THE SIREN:

she pulls you in with her sweetness, but only when it’s too late do you realize her true colors. like sirens drown the sailors, ida isn’t afraid to take-down anyone she feels deserves it. Lincoln Assassination

On April 9th 1865, after General Robert Lee surrendered to General Ulysses S Grant in Appotamox Virginia.

On 11th April 1865, Abraham Lincoln who was the 16th President of the United States, delivered his last ever speech.

"We meet this evening, not in sorrow, but in gladness of heart. The evacuation of Petersburg and Richmond and the surrender of the principal insurgent army give hope of a righteous and speedy peace whose joyous expression can not be restrained."

Abraham Lincoln visited Ford's theatre in Washington D.C, after deciding to take the evening off, with his wife and two friends, Clara Harris and Henry Rathbone. They arrived at 8:30pm on April 14th. However, for the last three months, unbeknownst to Lincoln or any authorities John Wilkes Booth, an actor and his co-conspirators came up with a plan to the Confederate prisoners of war.

Booth's plan along with his co-conspirators was to kidnap the president and hold him hostage until he released the prisoners, however due to the war coming to an end on 9th April their plan had to change.

Now, John Wilkes Booth along with fellow co-conspirators Mary Surrat, George Atzerodt, William Seward and David Herold decided they had to murder not only the president but members of his cabinet too.

John Wilkes Booth regularly visited Ford's Theatre and happened to know the place like the back of his hand so after finding out information earlier on the morning of April 14th that President Lincoln would be visiting the theatre later that evening the plan was set in place. Booth would head to the State Box (the presidential seating) and end Lincoln's life. Lewis Payne was tasked with killing the secretary of State, William Seward along with David Herold, it was George Azterodt's job to end Vice President Andrew Johnson's life whilst The murders were to take place at 10:15pm. Lincoln arrived at the theatre to watch a performance of Our American Cousin at approximately 8:30pm with Booth arriving outside an hour later.

Once John Wilkes Booth arrived at the rear alley on his horse, he spoke to a young boy who worked there named William Burroughs asking him to mind his horse. There was a saloon situated next to Ford's theatre and Booth needing some liquid courage for the task at hand decided to stop for a drink before heading to the theatre. He finally entered the theatre to assassinate the President at 10:07pm.

Luckily for Booth once he reached the State Box he found that Presiden Lincoln was unprotected due to his Metropolitan Police Force bodyguard, Mr John Palmer, temporarily leaving his post. Armed with a single shot Derringer and a hunting knife, Booth shot Lincoln point blank in the back of the head before stabbing his friend Henry Rathbone and jumping 11 feet, in front of 1000+ people, to the stage below. Whilst Lincoln's wife screamed Booth yelled "Thus always to tyrants" and flashed his knife.

Despite jumping 11 feet Booth was left with a broken fibula just above his ankle. President Lincoln sadly was not so lucky after the bullet entered through Lincoln's left ear, lodging behind his right eye. He was left paralyzed and struggling to breathe. He didn't regain consciousness and unfortunately died nine hours later at the Petersen House across from Ford's theatre.

After the assassination and breaking his fibula John Wilkes Booth managed to limp away, hop on his horse and gallop away. He rode his horse until he reached Surratsville so he could be joined by David E Herold at Dr Samuel Mudd's house where the Dr set Booth's leg and helped by splintering it. They stayed the night before leaving, headed south, on the afternoon of April 15th.

It only took eleven days for the Feds to catch up to Booth and Herold. When confronted Booth chose to end his own life whereas Herold surrendered.

After all the chaos and misery that they had caused, Mary Surrat, Lewis Paine, George Atzerodt and David Herold were publicly hanged at the Old Penitentiary Gallows on 7th of July 1865. Lincoln's death shook the nation and despite nobody else losing their life from their plan, Atzerodt never made any attempt on Vice President Johnson's life. Lewis Paine had been successful in harming the Secretary of State William Seward's throat after slashing it - twice!! - he only failed his mission due to Seward having a surgically inserted iron collar.

Business soon had to go back to normal as Vice President Johnson took his place as 17th President of the U.S.A.

David Lynch is an American filmmaker, artist and actor who is best known for Twin Peaks (1990-), Lost Highway (1997), Mulholland Drive (2001), Eraserhead (1977), The Elephant Man (1980), Dune (1984), Blue Velvet (1986), and Wild at Heart (1990).

            David Lynch was born in Missoula, Montana, America and joined the Boy Scouts at school and was with them outside the White House at the inauguration of President John F. Kennedy which took place on Lynch’s 15th birthday. Lynch became interested in art from an early age and wanted to pursue it as an adult. He had little interest in schoolwork, left in high school and went to study art and went on to have a successful career in film.

            It was Twin Peaks who launched him to worldwide fame, the program is about the investigation of a murdered school student Laura Palmer who was found washed up on the shore. Lynch appeared in the series as FBI agent Gordon Cole. By the second season, executives believed the public were losing interest in the story and told Lynch to wrap it up and reveal the killer. After the killer was revealed, the program was cancelled after a drop in ratings. Lynch went on to make the film Fire Walk with Me (1992) which was a prequel and made The Return (2017).

            Lynch has been married four times and has been in a relationship with actress    

Isabella Rossellini. He had four children, including Jennifer Lynch who wrote Laura Palmer’s Secret Diary.

            Lynch is best known for his dream-like films and also works with music. His favourite filmmakers are Alfred Hitchcock, Roman Polanski and Stanley Kubrick. His favourite films are Lolita (1962) and Rear Window (1954). In 2009, Lynch signed a petition in support of Polanski, after Polanski was arrested on 1977 sexual abuse charges.

Robert (Bob) was born January 23, 1928 in Oak Park, Illinois to David Palmer Livingston and Augusta Emilie Lucas, college sweethearts from Monmouth College. He was born with a clubfoot but had surgery at two and a cast on for a year. It never held him back. He was very athletic and played football, basketball and baseball. If you met him you would never know especially with his "can do" attitude. In seventh grade his family moved to Washington Iowa to run the family farm. After graduating from high school in 1946 he enlisted in the army and was sent to Korea.

His job in the army was morning clerk but really it was to play football and his division won the Far East Championship with Bob awarded MVP. He always laughed about that because as the littlest guy on the team he didn't know how he got the award.

After his service in 1948 he attended Iowa State University studying Animal Husbandry intending to go back and run the farm. He had a good time at ISU and joined A.T.O. Fraternity enjoying the parties, dances and social affairs. Bob loved to laugh and make others laugh. He was like his father David Livingston "America's Funniest Farmer" and Humorist. All the while he had a deepening emptiness searching for a deeper meaning in life. In the summer of 1950 his brother Dave led him to the Lord sitting on a bale of hay in the barn, as a result he transferred to Bob Jones University.

During his time at BJU he was challenged to return to Korea as a missionary, a place he said he would never go again. He met Claire Beckwith in candidate school for The Evangelical Alliance Mission (TEAM). She was single and a RN headed for Pakistan as a missionary. She was unable to get a visa and Bob had prayed and told God he would marry her if she came to Korea. Indeed she headed for Korea right after the Korean war ended and soon after they were married in Japan at the annual mission conference as all the hotels had been bombed out in Korea. With no family in attendance other then their "missionary family" they wed and honeymooned in Japan. They returned to Korea to continue language study and Bob was involved in Tent Evangelism. A year later their daughter Ruth was born in Seoul.

His brother Dave was also a missionary in Korea with the same mission and they headed to Kang Nung on the East Coast of Korea traveling on gravel roads and riverbeds. They built 2 houses there and continued with the tent evangelism and planting churches. Bob and Claire left for the West coast where he was Station Manager for HLKX Radio, broadcasting into Korea, China and Russia and in English to the servicemen in Korea. In between terms in Korea he attended Grace Theological Seminary in Winona Lake Indiana and received his Masters in Divinity. His son Stephen was born in Washington Iowa while they were home.

When he returned to Korea he had several positions including holding evangelistic meetings in high schools, working with Youth For Christ and teaching Bible. After their term was over they returned to the States via a summer in Europe in a Volkswagen Camper, traveling to Israel where he studied for his Masters in Old Testament at the American Institute of Holy Land Studies. Prompted to leave earlier then planned by the Israeli government due to the impending "6 Day" war they left in December 1966 and ended up in Wheaton, Illinois.

Bob worked in the main Headquarters for TEAM for 2 years as Purchasing Agent supporting 1,000 missionaries worldwide. He then worked as Executive Secretary for the American Institute of Holy Land Studies. From 1972 to 1979 He worked with his father for Diversified Resources as Vice President and Sales Manager.

He had originally been ordained in the Presbyterian Church and in 1979 was also ordained in the Christian Missionary Alliance. They moved to Salem Oregon where he was Pastor of Administration at Salem Alliance Church, during this time with the CMA Bob and Claire ran a CMA Guest House in Israel for 4 years and also served as Recording Secretary for the United Christian Council in Israel.

They returned to the States to care for his widowed mother and worked for Williams Water Systems in his hometown of Washington Iowa. When his mother passed away in 1993 he served as Associate Pastor at All Nations Baptist Church in Iowa City for several years with a predominately Korean congregation. Still wanting to minister and not ready to retire in 1999 he accepted a position at Christ Community Church in Omaha Nebraska as a Minister to Senior Adults. He was also studying for his DMin at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School during this time. Bob and Claire celebrated their 50th Anniversary with dear friends at Christ Community Church. Finally at 81 years old he retired and moved to Grace Village in Winona Lake Indiana where he and Claire were very active in the community and loved to get out and enjoy the local area. They were blessed to celebrate their 60th anniversary there with family, friends and even some missionary friends who had been in their wedding in Japan.

One of the things Bob loved to do was to lead tours to Israel, starting in the 70's he began organizing and leading tours to Israel. For 40 years he has taken dozens of groups to the Holy Land. He loved the land and people of Israel. He loved to see the Bible come alive for believers and has baptized many people in the Jordan River including both of his children and 2 of his grandchildren.

After enjoying Grace Village for 10 years they moved to Athens Alabama in 2019 where their daughter lived. Claire passed away in 2020 at 96 years old and Bob lived independently until his death. He was full of personality and always a jokester and very independent up till the end, he was still driving up until 3 months ago.

Everyone who met Bob loved him and he loved them and he told everyone about Jesus. He loved reading the Word and would fill many of his last days praying and reading his Bible. His sense of humor, his smile, his encouraging words and his beautiful prayers will be greatly missed. One word that would characterize him is GRATEFUL, he was always so thankful for everything. He loved his children and his grandchildren and was recently able to meet his great grandchildren. He was a godly man who lived a great life, who touched a lot of people and couldn't wait to go meet Jesus.
