Won't the democratic party go with Biden no matter what? Isn't that what they did with Hilary and Bernie?
Here's an article explaining what happened with Bernie's campaign.
I highly recommend everyone read it in full since it's going to be way more nuanced than anything I could come up with as a summary explanation.
But before he fell, the democrats in power were absolutely scared shitless of Bernie winning the primary. So much that they were prepared to shift rules just in case he got the majority vote anyway [X].
The problem is very nuanced, but it seems like the core issue is that the people yelling about him online didn't show up the same way at the polls. This could be a result of so many things, gerrymandering being a major issue for voters of color especially, but the most consistent thing when it comes to elections for Gen Y and Z is that waxing about progress online and taking no action in real life doesn't lead to success.
Your parents and grandparents and shitty racist uncles and aunts and cousins are going to the polls. Are you?

PLEASE vote in your primaries. This DOESN’T have to be another Trump V Biden election. It doesn’t!! We have our voices and our votes. If you want things to get better, you have to do this. EVERY vote counts. Never ever believe it doesn’t. We need numbers. We need collective unified action. We need better! We need you!
Please check when your state’s primaries are. They are already happening!! South Carolina’s is on February 3rd, Nevada is February 6, and so on. Illinois isn’t until March 19.
Remember, mail-in ballots are a thing and are way more convenient than voting in person. But it’s still good to know where you can vote in person in case you haven’t had the chance to sign up for or send mail-in ballots.
Absentee or mail-in voting!
Voting in person? Here’s what to bring and where to go.
Worried about voter ID? Here’s information on voter ID requirements!

So as we're heading into the American primaries, now is a super good time to see if you're registered to vote. Remember: even if you've been registered in the past, it's possible you've been removed from the registry without being notified. Go check.
Also, now's a really good time to put into your calendar when the relevant dates are for voting. If you plan on voting for election day, this link lists when that is in your state.
Note that voter ID laws may have changed since last time you voted. This map by ballotpedia shows the requirements by state. These rules may be different in the event that you are showing up to register and vote at the same time.

If you're unhappy with all of the options, remember that voting is not the only form of civic engagement you can engage in - getting engaged in your local community is still very much an option that is on the table and is effective. Voting and community organizing are not mutually exclusive acts. While the presidential race is the most prominent it is not the only race that's happening, and that local races that will affect your life far more directly are also on the ballot. Go vote.

Free advice to anyone running for POTUS: When they ask you about the $50K you owe in child support & the $500K you owe the IRS, don't dodge the questions. It makes you look ridiculous.
The Green Party US has 10 months to come up w/a better candidate, maybe a labor leader?*

Additionally, West was spotted this week at the sentencing hearing of Mark Ridley-Thomas, convicted of "seven felonies — bribery, conspiracy, four counts of honest services wire fraud, and one count of honest services mail fraud — in a scheme in which he extracted benefits from USC for himself and his son while on L.A. County’s powerful Board of Supervisors," according to the LA Times, as one of Ridley-Thomas's supporters.

For background on Mark Ridley-Thomas, see this article from Knock LA, a grassroots homeless advocacy and support organization featured in our most recent reading, "Infrastructures of Community": https://knock-la.com/mark-ridley-thomas-anti-homeless-camping-laws/ Knock LA reports that, "rather than acting as “champion of the homeless population,” [Ridley-Thomas] acted as champion of homeless policy," and that "Ridley-Thomas introduced legislation for LA Municipal Code 41.18 on June 30, 2021, which bans “sitting, lying, or sleeping or storing, using, maintaining, or placing personal property in the public right-of-way” around transportation structures (everything from driveways to freeway underpasses) [...]. So far, the measure has been used to effectively ban homeless people from taking up space at over 140 sites across the city, with $2 million allotted by the council for the signage alone."
After leaving the courthouse, West was asked why he was supporting an LA politics insider convicted of bribery when his companion shooed the interviewer away, saying they were "putting West's life in danger": https://twitter.com/theveganforest/status/1696290380361162759
As one commenter put it, "Starting to think this Harvard professor-turned-TV gadfly might not be on the level regarding his commitment to left-wing politics."
*There are nine other candidates in the GPUS primaries already: https://www.fec.gov/data/candidates/president/?election_year=2024&cycle=2024&election_full=true&party=GRE

2024 is going to be (excuse my Battlestar Galatican) fraking insane! But what is funny is the question Kanye West (aka Ye) asked Trump.
He also claimed to have asked Donald Trump to be his running mate. […]
West said his request for a running mate left the former president, who recently launched his own re-election campaign, "most perturbed".
In a video titled Mar-A-Lago Debrief, West claimed: "Trump started basically screaming at me at the table, telling me I'm going to lose. Has that ever worked for anyone in history?"
😂🤣😂
I am not sure which party Kanye will run under, but I do hope it is the GOP so they can tear each other apart.
Here is the video the BBC mentioned (on Twitter).

However I was surprised about his choice for a campaign manager.
For his 2024 bid, the rapper suggested he had enlisted alt-right commentator Milo Yiannopoulos as his campaign manager.
A former editor at the right wing publication Breitbart, Mr Yiannopoulos was largely shunned by mainstream conservatives after a video emerged in 2017 of him appearing to condone paedophilia. He said the comments were "gallows humour" and stated his "disgust" at the sexual abuse of minors.
Read the whole article on the BBC (it’s golden), but honestly 2024 is might turn out to be crazier than 2016 & 2020.

We Gotta Do Better Than this.
Joe Trump, effectively the main presidential candidate in 2024. I don’t know how we got here, with Presidential Candidates like Donald Trump and Joe Biden as presidential candidates. Well, actually, I do have an idea, but I don’t know that it’s right or true. What I do know is that both the Democratic and Republican presidential candidates are not attractive in any way. I remember a similar…
