One of the things that nobody tells you about automotive repair is how much of the job involves cleaning. Brake cleaning. Contact cleaning. Interior cleaning. Wiping off pounds of mud so you can even see. Some fixes, you spend more time cleaning off the area than you do actually doing the work.
There are two schools of thought on this issue. Not everyone believes what I do, which is that clean cars run better than dirty cars. Some part of the immortal machine spirit smiles upon you for having treated it well. I will swear as I am being lowered into the ground that a car wash picks up, like, a quarter of a horsepower.
A couple years ago, I went out mudding in my buddy's Isuzu Impulse which had been inexplicably converted to a dune buggy. He tells me that some kind of entity came to him in the woods and told him to do it, but I'm pretty sure it must have been some stoned kids on spring break. Either way, it's very satisfying to pop the pressure washer and hose off five pounds of mud from each of the seats after we're done playing. It's by far my favourite kind of maintenance: done from afar, indiscriminately, with power tools.
Of course, there are limits to my love of the clean. For instance, my old Impala has a hole in the floor big enough to catch a mid-sized dog inside. Road salt and the oil leaking out of the engine make a huge mess in the interior. Cleaning it is futile until I've fixed the hole, and I can't fix the hole until I've cleaned it well enough to get a weld down on what's left of the metal. So instead, it's got some stolen hotel towels duct-taped over the hole. When one becomes too rancid, I put it in my neighbour's trash, and wear my hotel-maid outfit to go get a new one.
Don't worry; I do a little bit of tidying-up while I'm in there. Otherwise that towel cupboard would be so cluttered. How could anyone see what they're doing in there? Super dangerous to the workers, they should be paying me.

I work at a grocery store production facility and today someone pooped themselves in the break room and didn’t tell anyone and people walked through it and tracked it into the production area how disgusting and we didn’t shut down maybe I should report them to the USDA for that there was poop all over the floor
There's so much wrong in there, starting with pooping in the break room because seriously what the fuck.
Who poops in the break room, honestly again I say what the fuck.
You do that and you want to pretend you didn't leave and come back a few min later and then go running out to call maintenance or custodial or whoever and tell them there's poop in the break room and it's not from rats (see rat poop at a place like you work report that too, totally different situation here tho)
It's not something that 100% needs to send operations to a grinding halt since nothing should be in contact with the floor anyhow, though there does need to be a pretty through decontamination done in all the poopy areas so in the long run it's likely cheaper to do hit the breaks on the production and break out the pressure washers and bleach.
I really want to be a fly on the wall for the pre-shift meeting when this gets brought up, mostly because hearing management try to find a diplomatic way to tell people not to take a dump in the break room and then go over the procedures to follow should one find it impossible to not take a dump in the break room would be hilarious.
You'll have to let me know how that goes if you can, or at a minimum let me know if there's any new signs in the break room maybe pointing toward the restroom or something.
A bucket
Culprit should be easy enough to ID too, if they're still around since I'm guessing it wasn't logs which means the person is possibly ill (totally different no no for working in that kind of location) so if someone is looking like they're not too good they may be the mad pooper.
This might also help narrow things down a bit
Tumblr media
Anyone that used to live in CO in 2017 working there might just be who you're looking for.

Notes on Sims 4 For Rent:
*This list is incomplete and a matter of my observations while trying to complete the good landlord aspiration.
Rent is paid every Wednesday morning at 5am except the first Wednesday after you bought the place or move in. Not sure if this applies every time you move in new tenants.
If you want to complete the good landlord aspiration, begin with 1 or 2 star rated units. Maintenance events spawn in low star rated units, but not in high star rated units in my limited experience.
Fines often fail, but they seem to fail more often when delivered in person. Slide it under the tenants door or mail it for better (?) results.
Piles of trash generated from repairing things in the shared space of a residential rental will always spawn in the played unit. Ick.
Generous sims will autonomously give away 250 simoleans at a time when you're not looking!
In the shared spaces of residential rental lots I've watched neighbors use: the painting easel (and the player can sell those paintings for profit, hot tip!), the game table, laundry washer and dryer (I placed the hamper in the same room as the washer and dryer as I am a lazy simmer), the pool, the crafting table, the telescope, gardening planters (they even plant on their own? One tenant gave me a whole bunch of Cottage Living mushrooms in the planter boxes), the grill, the pizza cooker, radios, and the mixology bar (maybe, I didn't witness it, but there were a number of spoiled drinks sitting on it for some reason and my sim didn't make them.)
Maintenance events send you TO the tenants unit. These events include a Trash Overload, Water Leak, and I've heard of a cursed book, but I haven't encountered it yet.
Emergency events appear to happen in YOUR unit or the shared space and include things like exploded appliances and hauntings.
You can trigger a tenant revolt by blaming the tenants. For what? It doesn't specify, but you can blame them!
I've heard you can trigger things like charity drives and pet adoption drives by complimenting the tenant (wrong word, its an option under the RENTAL tab), but I can't prove it from my own game play.
Last-
Apparently they did something odd with the new kettle and pressure cooker appliances. Even if you don't use them, the appliance itself thinks it is decaying over time. Have you encountered your sim doing the "Eww, stinky" animation and your space is clean? Probably that new kettle you bought. I ran smack into it. NateTheLoser has a mod out to make it better.

I need to draw my favorite characters doing the same mundane tasks I do at my job as a maintenance custodian in a grocery store.
Imagine Hellboy stripping(not that kind) and waxing the tile floors. Wally Darling is is crushing plastic waste into the compactor. König is cleaning the produce and meat shelves with the pressure washer. Levi Ackerman(he’d love this job) hosing down the bathroom stalls and toilets after they’ve been scrubbed clean with soap and pink stuff.
One of these days I’ll either do it myself or not be broke and commission it.

February 2023 Tour
So some of the maintenance we did on our 11 year old RV:  replace part of a rotted slide-out floor, paint the yellowed ceiling fixtures, get front seat covers, a new driver’s side window, install a microwave over-the-stove, replace the 2 house batteries, "new" mattress and just scrub and touch-up everything.  We took it to Henkel's RV Sales August 9, knowing it was off-season for RV sales. . . it is still there!  We were hoping it would sell around the time of the big RV show in Tampa, but that's been a few weeks ago. . .  It’s still in good shape; as Shorty said, “Nobody’s got any money now.”
Tumblr media
Closing on our house was July 22, 2022.  We found a G.E. dishwasher at an outlet store in Clearwater, a G.E. stove at an estate sale, and fridge, washer and dryer at Lowe's.   By the time we got the mattresses, shower curtains, and things you need to live, our first night in the house was July 29.  We still had to commute to Holiday to finish working on the RV at our tired senior pace.  We decided we're going to die here, because we're too old to move again. . . we were so worn out.  But dang, we're loving it here!
Tumblr media
We continued commuting (about 35 miles each way) to see Shorty most weeks; a few times he came up to see us at the house.
The first two things I cooked in the new house were sheet pan chicken/taters/ corn on the cob and chicken parm on the sheet pan.  After 10 years with an RV oven, I had a heuge two-shelfer and two giant sheet pans I had been dying to use.  I had been collecting recipes from Julia Pacheco, my fav You-Tube home cook, for about a year.  To Corny's (and Bob's) delight, I have been cooking up a storm!  I also started a little canning.  I have wanted sodium-free beans for a long time - and the pressure canner takes them from dried, right outta the bag to squishy soft in 40 minutes.

Corny watched and I re-watched Breaking Bad on one of the many TVs we've found in storage auctions.  This one came with a guest subscription to Netflix.  We watched "Better Call Saul".  He was Corny's favorite character.  I've always loved Bryan Cranston.  Then we watched all the Jurassic Park movies.
Here's a little tour.  The walls are a very light grey; flooring is grey vinyl:

Without gutters yet, when hurricane Ian headed our way in September, we made two trips to a county park to fill sandbags.  Some young, energetic people took pity on us old, slow-moving, moaning people and helped us haul the heavy bags to the Jeep.  Corny made a few bucks selling flashlights and lanterns he had gotten on clearance months ago, thanks to Ian.
In November I did a big 2-week Georgia county run.  I only got the Jeep stuck once, in mud covered by leaves.  A Lumpkin County Sheriff had me out within minutes.  I have about 1/3 of GA counties to visit:

On Thanksgiving Shorty brought Bob up to the house.  They arrived at 5pm; the turkey finished at 7:30pm.  I made real gravy for the first time in decades.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Corny had some kidney procedures in November, then found himself in the hospital for an infection in December.
Shorty told us on Dec. 1 he was moving "up north".  He heard rumors that Hyundai was hiring contractors to do his job so he promptly took his 3 weeks vacation.  When he went back to see if he was on the schedule, they were like "Who are you?".  He had worked there 10 1/2 years.  We were so glad they did what we couldn't - kick him in the pants so he would get a better job.  The little shit decided to move to Elkhart, Indiana to be able to afford a house of his own.  We miss him - my life has certainly changed.  I would plan all week what to bring him or ask him or tell him.  But we are very happy for him to be out on his own and experiencing real freedom for the first time.  He left for Elkhart Dec. 3 so now we just text.
We didn't have much notice, so Christmas was basically cancelled.  We went to Buffet City on Christmas Eve.   I made 4# of candied pecans to send up north and give to the neighbors and Liam - Shiloh Builders' Number Two.  They are building a house right next door which Chick, the owner of Shiloh, is going to live in part time.  They are using the garage as their office.
I threw a tapestry over the TV for Christmas.
Tumblr media
Corny scored a home run and got me a Kitchen Aid accessory that peels, cores and slices an apple all at the same time!  I made my first apple pie since I was 20-something years old.  I was always too impatient to peel apples.
Tumblr media
We continue going to storage auctions.  The latest score was an entire tub of Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon cards.  I went through them all to check for the big buck$ cards.  There weren't any.  When I get back from BamaRama (GC9TB1Z) I will list them on Facebook Marketplace for prolly $20/box.

How to Care for Your Car Wrap
Blog Introduction: You’ve just spent the time, money, and energy on getting a car wrap installed—now what? Maintaining your car wrap is key to ensuring it looks as good as new. The first step in maintaining your car wrap is understanding how to properly clean it. In this post, we’ll walk you through all the dos and don’ts of washing your car wrap.
Can You Wash a Car Wrap?
The answer is yes! Washing your car wrap is completely safe and will help keep it looking great for years to come. However, there are some important steps you should take when washing your car wrap that will ensure you get the best results.
What You Should Do When Washing Your Car Wrap:
Use a mild detergent and warm water to make your cleaning solution.
Apply the cleaning solution using a soft brush or cloth in order to remove dirt, debris, and bird droppings.
Rinse with clean, cold water to ensure all of the soap is removed.
Dry your car wrap with a soft towel or air dryer – never use heat!
What You Should Not Do When Washing Your Car Wrap
Never use harsh chemicals like solvents, degreasers, or abrasive cleaners on your car wrap as these can damage the film.
Avoid pressure washing your car wrap as it can cause tears in
What Kind of Soap Should I Use?
When it comes to soaps that are safe for use on car wraps, always opt for a mild detergent or soap specifically designed for vehicle wraps. Avoid using any kind of abrasive cleaners—these can be too harsh for delicate wraps and may cause damage. Additionally, steer clear of wax-based products as these can leave a residue on the surface that can damage the finish of your wrap over time.
How Should I Wash My Car Wrap?
Before you begin washing your car wrap, make sure to rinse off any dirt or debris with water first, otherwise, you risk scratching the surface while scrubbing off dirt particles. Start by wetting down the entire vehicle with a hose or pressure washer set on low pressure then use a soft cloth or sponge dampened with soapy water to gently scrub away dirt and grime from the surface of the vehicle. Rinse off all soap residue with clean water then dry with a soft towel or chamois. Pay special attention to areas around moldings and seams where dirt tends to accumulate more easily since they can be difficult to clean after they become caked-on debris.
How do you maintain a wrapped car?
Once you’ve washed your car wrap, the next step is to maintain it. One of the best ways to do this is by applying a sealant specifically designed for vehicle wraps every six months or so. This will help protect against sun damage, dirt, and grime, as well as other environmental elements that can cause your wrap to fade or deteriorate over time. Additionally, it’s important to keep your car in a garage or other covered area when possible to ensure that the wrap is protected from direct sunlight for extended periods of time.
Taking care of your car wrap does not have to be difficult or time-consuming with the right steps. By following this guide and understanding how to properly clean and maintain your wrap, you can ensure that it looks great for years to come! Have any questions about caring for your car wrap? Feel free to reach out and we’ll be happy to help!
Conclusion:
Now that you know how to safely wash your car wrap, you can rest assured knowing that you are taking care of one of your biggest investments! Keeping up regular maintenance such as washing and waxing will keep your vehicle looking its best for years to come. Remember: always use mild detergents specifically designed for vehicle wraps and never apply abrasive cleaners directly onto the surface of your car wrap! Following these simple steps will ensure that both you and your vehicle look good long into the future.

Mastering Epoxy Floor Waterproofing: Essential Tips and Tricks
Epoxy flooring is a popular flooring option for both residential and industrial areas. It is durable, easy to clean, and offers a sleek, modern look. However, one of the biggest concerns is its susceptibility to water damage. This is where floor waterproofing singapore comes into play. In this article, we'll discuss essential tips and tricks for mastering floor waterproofing.
Understand the Importance
Before we dive into tips and tricks, it's important to understand why floor waterproofing is so essential. floors are not naturally waterproof and can suffer from damage due to water exposure. Water damage can lead to bubbling, peeling, and even cracking of the flooring. This can result in costly repairs and replacements. You can protect them from water damage, extend their lifespan, and save money in the long run.
Choose the Right Waterproofing Product
Choosing the right waterproofing product is crucial for effective floor waterproofing. There are many options available in the market, but not all products are created equal. It's important to choose a high-quality product that is specifically designed for floors. Look for a product that is easy to apply, dries quickly, and offers long-lasting protection against water damage.
Prepare the Surface
Proper surface preparation is key to successful floor waterproofing. Before applying any waterproofing product, make sure the surface is clean and free of any dirt, oil, or debris. Use a degreaser to remove any oil or grease stains, and then thoroughly clean the surface with a pressure washer or a scrub brush. Once the surface is clean, allow it to dry completely before applying any waterproofing product.
Apply the Waterproofing Product
When applying the waterproofing specialist product, make sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully. Use a roller or a brush to apply the product evenly over the entire surface. Be sure to apply a sufficient amount of the product to ensure complete coverage. Once the product has been applied, allow it to dry completely before walking on the surface or applying any additional coats.
Maintain Your Epoxy Floors
Proper maintenance is key to preserving the waterproofing of your floors. Regularly clean your floors using a mild detergent and a soft-bristled brush or mop. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or tools that could damage the waterproofing layer. If you notice any damage or wear on your  floors, address it immediately to prevent further water damage.
Consider Adding a Sealant
In addition to using a waterproofing product, you may also want to consider adding a sealant to your floors. A sealant can provide an extra layer of protection against water damage and can help to enhance the durability and lifespan of your floors.
Use a Moisture Meter
Before applying any waterproofing product, it's important to check the moisture levels of your concrete or substrate. Use a moisture meter to ensure that the surface is dry and free of any moisture. Applying a waterproofing product to a surface that is not completely dry can result in ineffective waterproofing and may even cause more damage.
Conclusion
epoxy floor waterproofing services is a crucial step in protecting your floors from water damage and extending their lifespan. By choosing the right waterproofing product, properly preparing the surface, and maintaining your floors, you can master floor waterproofing and enjoy the benefits of a long-lasting, waterproof flooring option.

Ductless Mini Split Heat Pump User Tips
Tumblr media
Know your remote. A lot of a mini-split’s functionality is hidden in the remote control. Just as you know your own TV remote and have to figure out a hotel’s.
Mode selection is key. Mini-split heat pumps have both indoor units (an air-handler sometimes called a “head”) and outdoor units (the compressor/condenser). You can have two or three indoor heads connected to the same outdoor compressor, but all the heads need to be on the same mode. For example, if you have two bedrooms connected to the same compressor but each with its own head, you can’t have one on heating mode and one on cooling mode. But you can have different cooling setpoints, such as keeping a bedroom or workout room cooler than the rest of the house. Changing the mode is as easy as pressing the “mode” button and watching an icon change from sun (heat) to snowflake (cool).
Cleaning is important, but it doesn’t have to be difficult. Once a quarter, you should remove the filters and gently wash off any debris. If they look really dirty, you can do this more often. Be careful using any pressure-washing devices on the delicate “fins” of your unit as they can be easily damaged if you are too aggressive. Heat pump technicians have specially calibrated pressure washers. Do not spray any chemicals into the indoor or outdoor units. A professional cleaning once a year will help keep your system running efficiently and identify maintenance needs so you don’t get stuck with a malfunction in cold or hot weather.
Protect your heat pumps when you work on your house. Many contractors — HVAC or otherwise — are not yet familiar with heat pumps. If you are having work done on your house, even something basic like painting, take simple steps to protect your indoor units from dust and debris. Covering them with a plastic bag or sheet should work fine.
Leave it on or off. Heat pumps use the most electricity when working hard to get a room to temperature. Once that temperature is achieved the unit then only has to work to maintain it. When you shut your heat pump off what happens is the room temperature will drop. Then when you turn the unit back on the system will need to work hard once again to bring it back to temperature. While there are a few dollars a month in savings to be had by turning the unit off and on for comfort purposes we advise leaving it on all the time.
Should I shut it off IF it’s going to be raining/snowing/ice storm. For rain there isn’t a need to shut your unit off, unless there is an expected flash freeze after the rain. For heavy snow and/or ice storms it can be a good idea to shut your unit off as well. This is to protect the fan from pulling too much snow through the outdoor unit and causing a snow/ice build up behind the unit. This snow and ice build up can result in the fan motor burning out if the unit was to become consumed by snow or ice. While this isn’t the risk that we run with every storm it’s a good idea to tun then unit off.
