For people who care about voting, this is a good time to check on your voter registration status and make sure you even can vote.
Additional important PSA: Some states have Open Primaries, which mean you can vote in ether one.
What does that mean and why is it important? It means because Biden has no meaningful competition on the democrat ballot, if you live in one of these state, you can instead request the republican ballot, and vote for whoever is in second to peel some votes away from Trump in a last ditch effort.
Unlike voting for Romney in 2012, I don't think this will make much of a different to Trump's nomination, but it might increase the petty infighting that is rendering them increasingly useless. Which seems worth a try to me. If you are committed to voting for the lesser evil as harm reduction and are allowed to do this, you should be.

New Yorkers:
State Senate and Congressional primaries are this Tuesday (August 23rd). Check your polling place because there is a good chance it has changed. The counties aren’t all having the regular number of polling places since it is a smaller primary that wasn’t originally expected. Also your Congressional district and/or State Senate district may have changed due to redistricting.
There are a lot of quite left leaning Democrats running for Congress in New York.
My regional districts NY 17, 18, and 19 all have Democrat primaries (these areas used to be historically Republican but they have all flipped or gone close to flipping in the past 10-15 years or so). The 21st also has a Democrat primary and I would love to see Stefanik taken down (for those unfamiliar, Stefanik is like the OG MTG and has been drinking the kool-aid of 45 well before MTG got on scene and still is).
There are certainly Republicans that need to go because they had extremely questionable ethics and morals before trumpism was ever a thing. Sadly the federal courts made that more difficult.

VOTE VOTE VOTE TODAY girlies like you’re life depends on it. Because it does. If you’re in the south please be careful.
There’s been many reports of people carrying guns outside polling stations to intimidate. Follow your intuition and that little voice in your head 🫶

If you are going to vote you can’t park on the sidewalk.
And you need to vote at the light-post.
But you can’t vote for the light-post, it’s not on the ballet (even though it would likely be an improvement over many of our local politicians).

So today is the last day to register to vote in the Florida primaries.
I have included a link to an article explaining the basics of what to do and a link to the site where you register to vote.
Please note that this is not the last day to vote. It is the last day to register to vote. The actual election will take place August 23.
Please also note that to vote in a political party primary in Florida, you have to be a registered member of that political party.
Final note
To anyone who registers to vote today, Thank You for choosing to participate in our democracy. People like you are the reason this country will get better! You are the reason women will get control of their bodies back. You are the reason we will be able to fight back against climate change. You are the best! So Thank You!

If I have any other Ohio people on here, TODAY is the general election so if you’re registered to vote PLEASE DO!! With the news of Roe v. Wade being over turned last night, we are top of the list of states who are going to lose our reproductive rights and that’s utterly fucking terrifying. I cannot stress enough how important this is. Victims of SA, minors, incest, health complications, etc will likely be no exception to the rule. For the love of god, please vote today. And everyone else, your primary elections will be coming up sometime this summer so stay up to date on the news and register to vote if you aren’t already!
Here’s how to find your polling location!
