You don’t owe prettiness to anyone. Not to your boyfriend/spouse/partner, not to your co-workers, especially not to random men on the street. You don’t owe it to your mother, you don’t owe it to your children, you don’t owe it to civilization in general. Prettiness is not a rent you pay for occupying a space marked ‘female’. —Erin McKean

what amazes me about the “pro-abortion only for rape” argument is that it’s so tone-deaf and flat out ridiculous. the context of an unwanted pregnancy is nearly ALWAYS occurring under coercion. why else would teenage girls be pregnant if they were not already failed by a patriarchal system that withheld information for safe sex, products for safe sex, or access to healthcare? if girls were not groomed, pressured, bullied into “losing their virginity” by entertainment, peers and culture? if girls were not groomed from day one to be feminine, that is, submissive and passive? what child willfully got out of their way to get pregnant without being thoroughly brainwashed? or forced?
do you honestly believe that sally, 14, raised in the Bible Belt, forced into frilly dresses by age two, fed “how to be a good, subservient woman” from age four, is going to understand or value her own consent?
everyone who has ever deliberately wanted to have a child ends up at an abortion clinic because it risks their fucking life.
unwanted pregnancies, however, are occurring under an inherently coercive system. one that herds women and girls into abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
people who use this argument sound like pro-prostitution propagandists. most women and girls are not in that situation by choice. even if they say so. like do y’all not understand anything about what living in a patriarchal regime means? or a capitalistic economy?
in what world does someone who didn't want/was afraid of pregnancy, deliberately and willfully get pregnant????!
be so fr right now
TLDR: The context of unwanted pregnancies is always coercive. Whether systemically, or interpersonally. Usually both.

Current medical system: yeah we can kill babies FOR FREE! We will even pay for all your travel expenses!!!
Feminists and leftists: wow so progressive!!! This is REAL feminism and woman's rights.
Also current medical system: infertility treatments aren't covered by insurance, little to no funding and research when it comes to reproductive disorders, no cures or safe solutions for endometriosis, PCOS, ovarian cancer, literally erasing the biological word female and woman, rampant abuse in the OBGYN world, belittling of period pains, not being diagnosed properly, given experimental birth control pills as the "magic" solution to every problem instead of listening and finding the root cause, rampant abuse and trauma when it comes to delivering a baby, medical malpractice for pregnant women, outdated birthing practices and myths that continue to exist because it gives doctors and hospitals more profit, almost zero maternity care/postpartum solutions, no paid maternity leave for most women..
Should I go on?

TW: rape ⚠️
recently in italy seven men raped a 19yo woman. the crime was recorded by one of them who was friend of the girl; he watched everything behind the camera, he raped her too, he said nothing as his friend was begging them to stop. he then described what happened saying that "it was disgusting and it looked like a scene from a porn". angelo flores, 22 years old, gabriele di trapani, 19 years old, christian maronia, 19 years old, cristian barone, 18 years old, samuele la grassa, 20 years old, elio arnao, 20 years old, and r. p., a minor. these are their names and as you can see their fucking teens. they're called "monsters", "beasts", but they're not: they're men. they are someone's friend and someone's son. one day they will maybe be someone's husband and someone's father and that's FUCKING SCARY.
and honestly, i don't really think it's just a coincidence that they compared what they did to porn. it only shows how fucked up porn is and how it completely ruins people's mind. porn is not sex, it's abuse and hate against women.

Ladies, abortion benefits men more than it would ever benefit women! Abortion allows them to have consequence-free sex. No commitment required. Abortion frees him from 18 years of child support, 18 years of being a father, 18 years of responsibility. Abortion allows men to take advantage of women. If she gets pregnant, she’s the one expected to have a dangerous procedure done that will increase her maternal death rate.
Tumblr media
A study in Denmark “found that women who had first-trimester abortions had an 89 percent higher risk of death within the first year and an 80 percent higher risk of death over the full study period.”
Abortion is not safer than childbirth. Stop allowing men to have consequence-free sex.

"Conventional tampons include ingredients like crude oil and microplastics that accumulate during production. These chemicals permeate the skin, make their way to your organs and can cause serious health issues. The tampons themselves are manufactured using even more microplastics, synthetic fibers, dioxins, bleaching agents and pesticides." Also, they are NOT regulated by the FDA.
"Also note on menstrual cups and pads. Not all brands are created equal either. Some reports for cheap and popular silicone has shown lead - make sure if you chose this option you're using a High quality medical grade silicone, same goes for pads."

"prostitution is the oldest profession" no, it isn't. the first women who can be seen as some kind of prostitutes in history date back to 4000 years ago, when in temples they were used as a part of rituals and so they had a spiritual role. were they free women? of course not, they were foreign slaves, in the same way as the famous prostitutes were in ancient Rome and Greece, that are often brought up trying to justify the current prostitution. centuries pass and paid sex has remained widespread, but in 1900 brothels began to close and prostitution moved to the streets, consequently bringing many diseases. they then tried to get rid of it or at least limit it, but the phrase "it is the oldest profession in the world" was used to block these attempts: it was too widespread and brought a lot of money, it would have been impossible to get rid of it completely. so if ancient civilizations are not the answer for this topic, why can't it simply be dated to even more ancient times when were men just beginning to evolve? sex most of the time was non-consensual, but defining it as "rape" wouldn't be right since consent didn't really exist back then. people looked for sex probably everyday but sex was actually necessary only for reproduction, and in the times when you had to hunt to survive there was still no concept of "I do it because it's beautiful", there was not even the concept of doing something for its own sake, because the only goal was to stay alive. consequently, the first professions to be born were those necessary for life, which allowed man to evolve and slowly enter society. sex as a paid service can arise only after the start of production of unnecessary goods and unnecessary goods can be produced only after the birth of beauty as an end in itself. and what are the requirements for this to happen?
1. introduction of exchange or currency.
2. society stable enough to be able to afford to produce more than what is necessary.
without the foundations of an economy, however rudimentary, prostitution cannot exist and that is why it cannot be called the oldest job in the world.
but where did that sentence even come out from? very simple: from a man called Rudyard Kipling in 1888, who, of course, didn't have any knowledge about prostitution and just needed a pretty line to start his book.
