CALL THE COMISSION AU

*spoilers from the manga under the cut

Call The Comission is an alternative/rock band created after the events of the famous Eri's case, where the entire class 1-A from UA decided to break the law and went to rescue a little girl who had been kidnapped by a powerful villain. Many of the kids were severely injured, but they successfully rescued the girl and no one died.

Although the details of the case and its participants are still unknown to the public, the members of the band claim the tragedy happened because the pro-heroes didn't responded to the crisis on time, so the children, worried for the little girl, followed their hearts and what they thought was their duty.

The band declared that the system no longer generates heroes, only celebrities. Likewise, they judge that society has become complacent and the peace in which we live is nothing more than a sham.

Their songs reinforce their beliefs. While the identity of their members remains a mystery, they have made it clear that they know the system from within and plan to reveal its corrupted skeleton.

*Note from the author: I'm still writing this au so it's not published yet, but here you have a sort of synopsis! And of course, the short playlist I've promised.

For each member you have two songs from real life band. Any recommendations, feedback or comments, I'd really truly appreciate them!

1 — HAWKS (TK) : Ryhtm guitarist and singer.

Some dudes from the Comission found him living on the streets and decided he was a perfect specimen to be turned into a model prohero. When he started his training with Lady Nagant and she realized how he was being treated and manipulated, she fought to get him out of the Comission program and contacted an older buddy of her, Twice, who adopted him after that, becoming a sort of a big brother / father figure to him. Twice taught him about the dark parts in hero society and kept him hidden and safe.

Hawks started working as a vigilante when he turned 16 years old, that's how he and Twice ended up rescuing Toga some years after that. He met Dabi and become his best friend when Toga joined Dabi's band, learning they were not different after all. Together they started the whole Call The Comission project, worried about what could happen to the younger generations.

2 — DABI (T2) : Lead guitarist and singer.

Mr. Compress found him while he was still training under Endeavor's roof and helped him realize there was a different way of surpassing his father. However, some years after Touya's quirk got out of control. Compress rescued him. Together they faked his death, trusting Giran's contacts to neutralize the damage Dabi's body has receive. After the burning tragedy, Dabi focused on developing his control on his quirk. While helping Mr. Compress with his shows, he fell in love with music too.

He started a band named The Astrays with the other two kids Mr. Compress had adopted (Spinner, a lizard-like young boy who ran away from his racist hometown and Magne, a sensible trans girl struggling with society's standards) and met Toga during the same time. He got close to Hawks thanks to their shared views and traumas and they decided to create Call The Comission after Shouto and Tokoyami's participation on the Eri's accident. They wanted the band to cause a greater movement against the hero system, to protect the younger generation from the things their own generation had suffered.

3 — OVERHAUL (CK) : Bassist and singer.

Adopted first by the yakuza leader of the Shie Hassaikai, he was forced to leave because the leader didn't want that type of future for him. The leader contacted Giran, a man who also had connections with the black market but that was not so close the real danger. There Overhaul lived a relative normal life, learning about Giran's business and going to a normal school.

Even while fighting a lot, he quickly became friends with Tomura, the son of the owner of the bar Giran enjoyed visiting and his partner in school. They both had destructive quirks and went thought some dark moments under the shadow of a violent leader, so they felt like only they could understand each other. When he watched the news about Eri and learned she was his ex-leader's granddaughter, Overhaul joined Dabi's project out of anger, but also because he wanted to make the one who hurt Eri pay.

4 — TOMURA (ST) : Drummer and singer.

He ran away from home after his quirk accidentally activated and killed his whole family, except for his older sister, Hana, who was protected by her quirk (she can dissappear and reappear in a different place). A powerful villain known as All For One found him and kept him captive for some years, but Hana, who was adopted by a pro-hero named Shirakumo Oboro, alerted the heroes about this. Joining forces and with the help of Hana's quirk, a group of pro-heroes including All Might, Loud Cloud and Eraser Head rescued him. Shirakumo faked his death so he could adopt both Hana and Tomura, hiding behind Kurogiri's identity.

Tomura began to heal with the help of Shirakumo and his sister, and his best friend known as Overhaul. He became like an older brother to Midoriya Izuku too, thanks to their connections with All Might and Aizawa Shouta. So when the Eri's accident happened, he had all the reasons to join Dabi's project and finally let society know his version of the story.

They refuse to pick a leader so instead, the four of them sit and write songs that speak about their experiences and beliefs and share them in equal number. The authorities don't know who they are because they don't use their real names and they hide behind strange and dramatic outfits. Even when they started as a rock/alternative band to protest against hero society, things slowly started to get more complicated, specially when they caught AFO's attention. Will they fall under the pressure or will they find a way to stay together? What do they hide within their hearts? How can four foolish young men change the world without changing themselves?

AU where Overhaul ended up becoming a pro-hero and a kind-of teacher/sometimes nurse at UA.

And SOMEHOW no one realizes about his connections to Yakuza until Eri appears after spending a day with Pops, before people either didn't notice to the signs or just didn't listen to small time criminals/ex-criminals saying that they saw Overhaul sometimes hanging around the Shie Hassaikai.

Do you think Villain Deku would have still saved Eri?

Given the chance?

This has been sitting in my asks for ages and I need something to endlessly talk about this morning that’s SFW so let’s get into this.

My general answer is yes, yes he would, but there’s a lot more to it than just that.

I feel like it depends on which version we’re talking about. I feel like everyone has a different version of Villain!Deku that they think about when he’s mentioned. But the most common ones I’ve seen are as follows:

-Crazy/Insane Villain!Deku (mostly independent) -LOV Villain!Deku/Traitor Villain!Deku -Independent/Stable Villain!Deku (so like not part of LOV but not crazy either) -ProHero!Deku turned Villain!Deku after hero society wears him down (kind of goes along with that last one)

Also, we should probably take into consideration the timeline in which the events with Overhaul and Eri happen. Depending on which version of Vil!Deku we’re talking about, the timeline would either have to change a bit or in my personal opinion, he might not have turned villain yet in some cases. That being said, I’ll kind of give a brief synopsis on the different versions and how I think he’d interact with Eri/if I think he’d save her or not.

Crazy/Insane Villain!Deku: Put simply, no. I don’t think he would. Realistically (hardy har har Sweater, this is all hypothetical and Vil!Deku isn’t even canon), I think if he was genuinely driven mad and insane, he wouldn’t think about things like that. That’s all there is to it. He probably only cares about himself and what he thinks made him this way. Unless, of course, Eri and Overhaul get in the way of something he wants, or if they happen to become important for some unknown reason. I suppose it would be possible for him to save her if the circumstances aligned with his desires, but overall I don’t see it happening.

LOV/Traitor!Villain!Deku: Oh, definitely. In this au I think Deku would probably be taken in by the League after being rejected by All Might, or something similar to that. Somehow he finds his way to the villains, it’s not too important how. But they offer him a place to belong, to be accepted, to have a dream and a goal he can actually attain. He’s stable, he’s intelligent, and he’s extremely observant. No matter if he’s the independent traitor or if the League sent him to gather information from UA, he’s going to be there learning things either way, and so he’ll go through things similar to canon but not quite the same. Ultimately he’d probably bump into Eri at some point considering he spends over half his day with heroes and he’s pretending to be one, so I think it would lead up the same way it did in canon almost? And honestly? Traitor/LOV Vil!Deku could end up being a LOT more passionate about saving her than canon!Deku ever was. I say this because in this au I feel like he’d be extremely sympathetic for those without quirks (I know he is in canon but for some reason it just seems like after suffering so much in the au, he would be 10 times more sensitive to it idk), those who have been abused by hero society, and those who have been wronged by the members of society that have quirks and should be protecting others. He’s a villain because he wants to make a difference, and saving Eri would definitely make a difference in his book. He’ll probably get the LOV to help if he thinks the heroes can’t do it, otherwise he might try and save her himself. He knows he could take on Overhaul easy peasy, especially with the LOV behind him.

Independent/Stable Villain!Deku: So maybe All Might rejected him, and he never went to UA, and maybe he became a villain without a quirk. Or his quirk manifested super late, or AFO gave him powers. Whichever route you choose to go, somehow we end up with a stable Villain!Deku who can bust some ass by himself. I personally think this version of him would save Eri, yes. But this version is more on the down low with it; it’s not something he’ll admit to if you ask him about it. He’s a villain, why would he be interested in saving little girls who aren’t worth his time? That’s what he’ll tell you, anyways. But he did save her. He couldn’t stand the thought of not saving her. Overhaul is lower than dirt in his eyes, Eri is a victim needing rescuing, and Deku is still very in touch with his humanity and feelings. Just because the world turned sour for him doesn’t mean it has to be that way for everyone else. He knows who the real enemy is: Hero Society and their ideals and false hope. It’s their fault and no one else’s; they’re the ones to blame for his life, for the poor treatment of those without quirks. But again, he puts up a front, has a hard exterior because he’s been hurt. He acts jaded but he’s a good person at heart. Bad things happen to good people. Doesn’t mean it’s fair, but it’s what you make of it that counts, right?

ProHero!Deku turned Villain!Deku: This is a personal favorite of mine. In this version we have Deku who went through all his hero training and became a Pro before life knocked him down and “ruined” him, so to speak. This is a Deku who’s been weighed down so much by hero society and his hero work and abilities that he turned villain/vigilante for his own personal reasons. Maybe he felt like nothing was really changing, or maybe he got tired of being good. Who knows. Either way, I think he’d save Eri. But the interesting bit about this version is that there’s technically two different ways it could go. 1) Canon compliant, and he saves Eri before he even turns villain. Depending on your viewpoint, you might consider this a reason he turned villain in the first place. It did happen long ago, but it probably left a bitter taste in his mouth. It was one of the first big battles he had as a hero in training, and it left a huge imprint on him. Or... 2) Let’s shift the timeline a bit and say that he never bumped into Eri, that she never got rescued, that she’s been captive this whole time while he grows up and becomes a Pro. She’d be older then, Sir Nighteye might still be alive, and Overhaul would be a menace. Let’s say Deku turns villain relatively young and during his first few years as a Pro. If he gets wind of what Overhaul’s doing, it would be considerably more gruesome than the canon battle was, and he would save Eri no doubt. But the twist here is a bit more angsty because like I said, she would be older, and by that point she might actually have been dead (kind of takes away from the point, but...) or turned into a lifeless puppet for Overhaul with no feelings or emotions. Personally I don’t think you could come back from that. So if he did save her, there’s no telling how that would turn out.

part of an unfinished bit where they check out Kai's passages after the faculty realizes someone infiltrated UA (episode 9, I think?)

also had Hound Dog sniffing them out just incase.

There was also some other faculty interactions like Cementoss. Nedzu especially. Mostly negotiations because Kai doesn't think UA is safe for Eri anymore and he's trying to get his last check. He's talking into still working with them but he really thinks their security is lacking.

I know Chisaki avoids the LOV because he doesn't want Eri in danger...

One scenario I pictured with Chisaki and Shigaraki meeting was Shigaraki making hand/hand contact and destroying Chisaki's arm but at the same time Chisaki takes Shigaraki's arm for himself. idk haha

Beside Nemoto, Rikiya and Rappa, has Hero!Overhaul met anyone else of the canonical Eight Bullets?

I think Kai would get info from Sakaki in exchange for cash/alcohol. That guy crawls around in places Kai can’t go. For some reason I also picture Tangai joining Sakaki? Maybe trying to reform him some way to make up for whatever secret bad thing he did as a monk. Probably hate each other.

I really wanna do something with Setsuno, Hojo and Tabe, but not sure yet. Might have them flirt with joining the LOV. They’d definitely get along with Twice imo.

Not an 8 bullet, but he and Irinaka (Mimic) had a nasty encounter once when Eri was sick. Irinaka had just been bumped up in rank but the Boss still ended up sending him to deliver medication to Eri. Kai had him administer it to her as well, (it was still the beginning so he wasn’t a hero yet and his mysophobia was in full swing) which he complained about.

Irinaka, in his annoyance, rubbed it in that Kai wasn’t in the Yakuza even though he’s watched him try for years. I think something specific he says triggered something in Kai so that he attacked Irinaka and threatened to overhaul him.

It also probably hit him in the moment that he attacked a (now high ranked) Shie Hassaikai member and the Boss might not forgive that so easily. In for a penny, in for a pound, he still twisted Irinaka up and fixed him afterwards. He was reported and the Boss pretty much confirmed, 100% that Kai would not be joining the Shie Hassaikai. Ever.

Since then Irinaka has been aggressively terrified of him.

After other, unrelated story stuff happens, the Boss sent Hari, a low ranked but loyal member, to keep an eye on Kai and Eri. (Totally not because he thought that if Kai snapped again, Hari was expendable) Kai and Hari clicked and Hari’s reports to the Boss lack in-depth details on Kai and mostly center on Eri being happy and healthy. Might have forgotten to mention Kai gained legal custody of her and went to hero training until it was too late for the Boss to intervene woops.

Deku tries to get one but Chisaki always says no.

So I just found out recently via Ultra Analysis book that Chisaki and Katsukame knew each other as children and I feel robbed. Since we don't see his face and I don't wanna make one up, Ima have Katsukame be the one who introduced plague masks to Herohaul. Also, Eri gets an uncle.

I don’t know why i post past midnight but here we are.

I asked for some prompts and one was this:

Which reminded/inspired me to do the Recovery Girl interactions I had planned to come up with stuff for.

Chisaki respects older people, though he never really agrees with their opinions. He doesn’t outright argue with them and instead just uses his actions to push their opinions into irrelevance, something that was getting a little out of control when he was trying to join the Yakuza and the Boss mostly got through to him that he shouldn’t do that. Instead he should talk. Or compromise. Or try not to uproot centuries of traditions.

He appreciates that Recovery Girl uses her Quirk for healing and helping people. He does not like that she primarily uses it for future state-employed thugs. (Honestly his ideals here line up with the MLA but not to the extreme where he’d join them and start a war. He’s just focused on his community/the Yakuza. But that’s a story for never.) He also may or may not have pieces of bodies to give to her and the Boss. Neither of them ask where he gets it. If he liked All Might he’d probably find a stomach for him. Legally I’m sure. I mean, if he was doing it illegally where would he even put it? In himself? Haha yeah right you can’t prove anything.

Recovery Girl likes him and really wishes he’d have been a hero student. She’d have loved to mentor him since healing Quirks are so rare. She also wishes he went to medical school because what if he’s in a situation where he can’t use his Quirk?

Chisaki doubts that would ever happen.

AU where Kai actually isn’t a bad guy, just a serial cleaner but he has that VIBE that makes his and Deku’s meeting just as spooky as it was in canon.

He’s just trying to do his job and Eri always points out nobody likes him and sometimes he feels like he’s being punished for something horrible he did in a different life. Probably vibes with Aizawa. I drew this in early september but never finished it so look out for part 2 and 3 one day?? featuring aizawa and all might?? gotta learn to draw them haha
