JOKE-OGRAPHY: 1. Jonah is the guy who got eaten by a fish.  Classic story.  He was a prophet, but one day God gave him a mission he didn't want to take.  The city of Nineveh was being evil, and God wanted Jonah to tell them to stop.  Out of fear, Jonah instead hitched a ride on a boat headed in the other direction.  As the boat sailed, however, a storm appeared.  The sailors all assumed God was angry at Jonah, so they tossed him overboard and the storm ended.  Before Jonah drowned, God sent a giant fish to swallow him and keep him alive.  While stuck inside the fish, Jonah apologized to God for running away, and after that, the fish vomited Jonah up on the shore, and Jonah went to Nineveh and warned the people.  To his surprise, the people listened and changed their ways. 2. In this cartoon, Jonah warns the people of Nineveh to change their ways before God destroys them.  He lists a few ways God might exact His justice upon the city.  The last thing he mentions -- the fish thing -- sounds a little out of place as a punishment for a whole city.  That's because the fish thing is actually the way God acted His justice upon Jonah only a short time before he came to Nineveh.  Jonah is still a little bitter.

The fact that you can play a Samurai in Elden Ring is fucking hilarious to me. Like, you’ve got all these other origins and they’ve got some sort of tie in to the world of the Lands Between. Heroes are descendants of Godfrey, Astrologers, Prophets, and all other sorts directly connected to the world or a faction in it.
And then there’s just... like... a Samurai. They’re not even from the Lands Between. They’re a silent protagonist because they don’t speak the fucking language. They have no idea how they got there. There’s one other person in the entire game who’s from where you’re from and he’s a fucking bounty hunter. You miss your horse.

7 tips in getting closer to Allah SWT
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
read the Qur'an everyday reading the word of Allah and understanding what you are reading will make you feel close to Him as you know that this is not a Book that anyone has just written - it has come directly from Allah SWT. subhanallah. reading and understanding what He says will make you want to practise what the Qur'an says and, in turn, be closer to Him.
be around people who remember Allah human beings have great influence on each other so it is important to have righteous people around you. their relationship with Allah SWT will inspire you to build and improve yours.
understand what you recite in salah knowing what you are reciting will help you understand how many blessings you are gaining with just a single prayer. take time to learn the translation (if you do not speak/understand arabic) of what you are reciting and why.
learn Allah's 99 names and attributes 'And to Allah alone belong all perfect attributes; so call on Him by these' (7:181) Allah likes it when we call Him by his names and it is important to recognise and understand Him. think of Him as your friend: when you get to know someone better, you get closer to them. it is the same thing, in fact, better, with Allah SWT.
have secret good deeds between you and Allah again, like having a friend, having something that is just between you and your Lord will make you feel closer to Him.
make lots of du'a - especially in sujood having your dua's come true is the best feeling, especially when you have been praying for something for a long time, alhamdulillah. praying for anything, no matter how big or small, will make you feel closer to Him as you know that He alone will make everything okay and knows what is best for you.
remember death and prepare for it this one can be very hard but it is important to remember that death can come at anytime so always try and do good deeds and live righteously in order to please Allah. when having this mindset that each day is a new chance to seek forgiveness and do good deeds, you will feel closer to Him by wanting Him to be happy with you.

A portrait I did for @boociforme for a ‘draw the OC above’ event in a server we’re in, of their character Arlo!!  Their design is just so cool and full of fun colors I don't normally get to work with (and fallen prophet vibes are SO tasty) so I thought i'd give them a shot!  💜👁️

I just updated the campaign so that you can, in fact, order a copy of "THE ENVOY AND THE WARRIOR" (thus committing me to a print run of at least 100). A 20-page, full-color comic drawn by the unparalleled Linnea Sterte (aka @turndecassette2 ) and written by myself, set in the world of Habitat and Griz Grobus, detailing an exchange between posthuman immortals.
Check out the campaign for MIRAMAR HERE!

Hoodoo is CLOSED to non black AMERICANS
Hoodoo is distinct in that it involves working with specific ancestral spirits and deities, many of whom remain unfamiliar to the broader spiritual community. This sacred connection extends beyond mere knowledge; it is an intimate relationship with spirits deeply ingrained in the Hoodoo pantheon. These spiritual entities are closely tied to the experiences of Black Americans, and understanding them requires a profound awareness of one's lineage.
:
Hoodoo is considered a closed practice, meaning that access to its teachings is earned through guidance and mentorship. True practitioners are taught; they don't self-proclaim. Unfortunately, there is a concerning trend of non-Black individuals claiming to practice Hoodoo without a genuine understanding of its essence. Many cannot name a single spirit from the Hoodoo pantheon, exposing a significant gap in their knowledge.
It's crucial to distinguish Hoodoo from general folk magick practices. Hoodoo demands practitioners to delve into their lineage, understand their history, and grow in spiritual wisdom. The conflation of Hoodoo with generic folk magick demonstrates a lack of comprehension about the unique cultural and historical underpinnings that define Hoodoo. Hoodoo requires knowledge of the American slave trade and its affects on black Americans
Ancestral spirits within Hoodoo are discerning entities, recognizing color and lineage. Contrary to the notion that spirits lack prejudice, Hoodoo practitioners assert that ancestral spirits work closely with their descendants. Given the historical context of slavery and oppression, it becomes inconceivable for these spirits to collaborate with those from the very lineage responsible for their suffering.
:
Unlike some other African Traditional Religions (ATRs), Hoodoo has resisted commercialization and exploitation. Its practitioners emphasize the sanctity of their belief system, urging others to respect and protect it. The appropriation of Hoodoo by those outside its cultural lineage is viewed as a disservice to its profound spiritual significance.
:
Hoodoo is not merely a set of rituals; it is a sacred tapestry woven with the threads of Black American history, spirituality, and resilience. The claim that anyone, irrespective of background, can practice Hoodoo disregards its closed nature and the imperative to honor its cultural specificity. It is time to acknowledge and respect the boundaries of Hoodoo, safeguarding its authenticity and the spiritual legacy it represents.
