Prayer for Help and Thanksgiving for It
A Psalm of David.
1 A Psalm of David. To You I will cry, O Lord my Rock: Do not be silent to me, Lest, if You are silent to me, I become like those who go down to the pit. 2 Hear the voice of my supplications When I cry to You, When I lift up my hands toward Your holy sanctuary. 3 Do not take me away with the wicked And with the workers of iniquity, Who speak peace to their neighbors, But evil is in their hearts. 4 Give them according to their deeds, And according to the wickedness of their endeavors; Give them according to the work of their hands; Render to them what they deserve. 5 Because they do not regard the works of the Lord, Nor the operation of His hands, He shall destroy them And not build them up. 6 Blessed be the Lord, Because He has heard the voice of my supplications! 7 The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I will praise Him. 8 The Lord is their strength, And He is the saving refuge of His anointed. 9 Save Your people, And bless Your inheritance; Shepherd them also, And bear them up forever. — Psalm 28 | New King James Version (NKJV) The Holy Bible; New King James Version®. PSALMS S.O.A.P. ~ PSALM 28
Monday. 8/28/23
SCRIPTURE:
The Lord is my strength and my shield;  My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped;  Therefore my heart exults,  And with my song I shall thank Him.  ~ Psalm 28:7
OBSERVATION:
Exults - jumps for joy, celebrates, delights, rejoices, glorifies, elevates - Him because He is my strength, shield, trust and help...
My song is all He asks for being my strength and shield and trust and help...
APPLICATION:
Exult over - because of - Him...
Sing to Him in thanksgiving and exultation - continuously...
PRAYER:
Shielding Father - my strength and help in all things, not just troubles when, I confess, I come to you the most... I ask forgiveness for the times I trust in myself, especially when I know I need to surrender to Your Holy Spirit's guidance and Your Word... and seek to celebrate Your presence in all things, to see Your blessings and glory in the smallest moments throughout the day You have granted me... May Your Name be glorified as a song on my lips... in Jesus's Name...
Yours, exultingly, in Him...

God, Do Not Be Silent
Claude MariottiniEmeritus Professorof Old TestamentNorthern Baptist Seminary In his book Encounter with Spurgeon, Helmut Thielicke, the great theologian and famous preacher, said that Charles H. Spurgeon was effective as a preacher and as an interpreter because “he gave out only what flowed into him in never ceasing supply from the channels of Holy Scripture.” Those who are familiar with…

But for me it is good to be near God; I have made the Lord GOD my refuge, that I may tell of all your works.

‭Psalms‬ ‭28:6‭-‬7‬ ‭
Praise be to the Lord,
for he has heard my cry for mercy.
The Lord is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.
My heart leaps for joy,
and with my song I praise him.
