“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” —1 Thessalonians 5:16
“In all circumstances part 1: trust in God's character” By Antique Candle Co.:
“Why is it that we most often seek the Lord during the valleys of life? We know from His Word that He wants us to seek Him in every season. During the peaks, with moments of great joy and celebration; during the valleys, in times of worry and uncertainty. Not only does He desire His children to seek Him out, but He calls us to be faithful in all circumstances.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding...” —Proverbs 3:5
Trusting in the Lord's character allows us to find hope in every situation. It's not just about trusting God to get us through the difficult moments, but fully trusting in who He is, which extends to every moment of life.
So what is God's character? Many things. God cannot be compared to anything else in all creation. He created all things. Therefore, there are some attributes of Christ we can and cannot understand. We can't understand being 'unchanging' or 'all-knowing' ourselves because, as we are finite beings, we are neither. However, His Word tells us these truths about Him so that we may trust the characteristics that are unique to God alone. We can see and acknowledge the truth of His character in the Word and in our own lives.
GOD IS UNCHANGING:
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” —Hebrews 13:8
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” —James 1:17
GOD IS FAITHFUL:
“...if we are faithless, he remains faithful—for he cannot deny himself.” —2 Timothy 2:13
“The Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever and his faithfulness to all generations.” —Psalm 100:5
GOD IS ALL-KNOWING:
“He who planted the ear, does he not hear? He who formed the eye, does he not see? He who disciplines the nations, does he not rebuke? He who teaches man knowledge—the Lord—knows the thoughts of man, that they are but a breath.” —Psalm 94:9
GOD IS SOVEREIGN:
“For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.” —Romans 11:36
“In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight.” —Ephesians 1:7-8
“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” —Romans 8:28
“And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” —Matthew 24:14
Place your trust in a God who is unchanging, faithful, all-knowing, sovereign, and so much more. In all circumstances, His character is something that will never fail.”

THOUGHTS:
=======================
  Rejection is something a lot of people dont like talking about. Some people get embarrassed about being rejected, but this is something we all deal with at one time; maybe this happened to someone when they were in school and not being accepted, or maybe you feel that you're the black sheep; some people get rejected by people because of their looks, or how their body looks. Someone might have loved someone so much that the person didn't love them back. There are so many scenarios.
    I'm pretty sure I missed a couple when it comes to rejection, but if we aren't careful when we feel this emotional or going through this situation, if we dont handle it right, we can have a spirit of rejection attached to us quickly, and we won't know how to deal with it
  The one thing we have to understand is that when we deal with a rejection spirit, it is a rooting spirit that will root itself inside your soul and cause you to feel this in every area of your life; the rejection spirit will have you assuming things that are not happening and cause you to be bitter and alone, which causes the bitterness spirit, theses two spirits you want to stay far away from the first sign of this spirit in your life or my life we must go to God in prayer.
 Now,  some of us maybe never have been rejected. Still, we deal with this because it's inherited from us through the bloodline and happens because it's something someone deals with in the family. It gets passed to us, and we are lost at what to do; anything dealing with a spirit is an over-strong emotion that becomes a foothold if we allow the enemy to stay.
  Psalm  94:14 For the Lord will not forsake his people; he will not abandon his heritage;
    Many of us feel abandoned at one point in our lives, and we should never feel that way about  God because he has never forsaken us. He hasn't. Other people will leave us and make us feel some way, but God won't because he loves us. Still, rejection can make us feel abandoned; it can make us feel the whole world hates us and keeps us from people, which brings on a depressed spirit.
   See, this spirit wants to take over and control the way you think and feel, and if it can do that, it can control our whole life, but we have the power to rebuke and send this spirit back to hell. Still, we must be confident in God and have faith in the power of God to expel what's in our lives.
  The first step we will do is REPENT Acts 3:19. Repent, therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out,
     We must go to God and confess our sins. A lot of times, we dont look at small things as a sin. Some people like to say oh, this a minor sin. God will look over that, and he won't. God doesn't say oh, if you do all the big sins, you are going to hell, and for the minor sins, you won't; every sin is looked at as a sin; nothing is bigger than the other. Everything is the same fleshly sin, but the spirits that come with these sins bring on different things that we must have the power & strength of God to help us with. Go to God and explain to him what you did or how you are feeling.
  CLAIM YOUR IDENTITY Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ. No longer I live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved and gave himself for me.
 This verse tells us we no longer live, but Christ lives in us; we are free from the life of the flesh and can live by faith in God, who loves us; we have to claim our identity and walk in it some; sometimes we are confused at who we are, I know who I am because it says it on my birth certificate on my license and I know most importantly who I am in God when I was a sinner I was confused at who I was and who he called me to be and confused about him, but when I gave my life to God I know who I am and I stand firm and bold in that, we can't let this world tell us who we are we can't allow this world to change who we are we must stay bold and strong
 STAY IN THE WORD OF GOD  2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and training in righteousness,
    This is essential in all these steps, but we must study the word of God. Some people lack this, which gives the enemy a foothold because we aren't staying guarded. Many of us dont read, we dont pray, and we dont fast, but when we apply ourselves, hold tight to his word, and won't allow it to change us, we become stronger in him.
WALKING IN OUR AUTHORITY Isiah 61:1
"The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me because the Lord hath anointed Me to preach good tidings unto the meek. He hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound
 When we walk in the authority of God, we must understand we can preach, proclaim, set free, and rebuke any spirit because we are walking in the name of God; we know who gave us the authority and the assignment to walk this way we must learn to walk in this way and be bold and know who walks with us if you dont think you have this authority every believer has this authority but some people don't talk on it because they are scared or dont know. Still, when we are sure about God, we can walk in this when we study and pray we walk boldly in our authority.
  ***Today, the only holy spirit wants us to walk in his authority, but we can't do that if we don't study; we can't walk in that if we have no faith; we must believe and trust in God about everything that is happening to our lives, each step that was mentioned in this devotional is to teach us how to become strong and how to live through His strength, we talked about this yesterday that our strength our will won't help us accomplish anything but through his blood and power we are stronger then we could ever imagine. The Holy Spirit wants us to be free in him and free to live a life through him because of his grace and mercy. Today, if you don't understand what he gave you and what you do have, ask him to show you. ©Seer~ Prophetess Lee

Joy of the Redeemed
1 The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose. 2 It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing; the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon: they shall see the glory of Jehovah, the excellency of our God.
3 Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees. 4 Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God; he will come and save you.
5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. 6 Then shall the lame man leap as a hart, and the tongue of the dumb shall sing; for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert. 7 And the glowing sand shall become a pool, and the thirsty ground springs of water: in the habitation of jackals, where they lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes. 8 And a highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for the redeemed: the wayfaring men, yea fools, shall not err therein. 9 No lion shall be there, nor shall any ravenous beast go up thereon; they shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there: 10 and the ransomed of Jehovah shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their heads: they shall obtain gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away. — Isaiah 35 | American Standard Version (ASV) The American Standard Version Bible is in the public domain. 1 O LORD, God of vengeance, O God of vengeance, shine forth!
2 Rise up, O judge of the earth; repay to the proud what they deserve!
3 O LORD, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked exult?
4 They pour out their arrogant words; all the evildoers boast.
5 They crush your people, O LORD, and afflict your heritage.
6 They kill the widow and the sojourner, and murder the fatherless;
7 and they say, "The LORD does not see; the God of Jacob does not perceive."
8 Understand, O dullest of the people! Fools, when will you be wise?
9 He who planted the ear, does he not hear? He who formed the eye, does he not see?
10 He who disciplines the nations, does he not rebuke? He who teaches man knowledge-
11 the LORD-knows the thoughts of man, that they are but a breath.
12 Blessed is the man whom you discipline, O LORD, and whom you teach out of your law,
13 to give him rest from days of trouble, until a pit is dug for the wicked.
14 For the LORD will not forsake his people; he will not abandon his heritage;
15 for justice will return to the righteous, and all the upright in heart will follow it.
16 Who rises up for me against the wicked? Who stands up for me against evildoers?
17 If the LORD had not been my help, my soul would soon have lived in the land of silence.
18 When I thought, "My foot slips," your steadfast love, O LORD, held me up.
19 When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul.
20 Can wicked rulers be allied with you, those who frame injustice by statute?
21 They band together against the life of the righteous and condemn the innocent to death.
22 But the LORD has become my stronghold, and my God the rock of my refuge.
23 He will bring back on them their iniquity and wipe them out for their wickedness; the LORD our God will wipe them out.
(Psalms 94, ESV)

How can you tell if you're being foolish?
Tumblr media
Psalm 53:1
Only fools say in their hearts, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, and their actions are evil; no one does good!
Luke 24:25
Then Jesus said to them, “You are such foolish people! You find it so hard to believe all that the prophets wrote in the Scriptures.”
Jeremiah 5:4, 21
Then I said, “But what can we expect from the poor and ignorant? They don’t know the ways of the Lord. They don’t understand what God expects of them . . . Listen, you foolish and senseless people—who have eyes but do not see, who have ears but do not hear.”
Fools don’t believe in God, his ways or his Word. They see the footprints and fingerprints of the Creator but deny he is there.
Romans 1:21
Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. The result was that their minds became dark and confused.
Psalm 94:7-8
“The Lord isn’t looking,” they say, “and besides, the God of Israel doesn’t care.” Think again, you fools! When will you finally catch on?
Fools ignore God, neglect God, or make up their own minds about who God is and what he is like.
Proverbs 28:26
Trusting oneself is foolish, but those who walk in wisdom are safe.
Proverbs 12:15
Fools think they need no advice, but the wise listen to others.
Romans 1:22
Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools.
Fools think they are in control of their lives and their future; therefore, they don’t listen to advice.
2 Chronicles 16:7-9
At that time Hanani the seer came to King Asa and told him, “Because you have put your trust in the king of Aram instead of in the Lord your God, you missed your chance . . . The eyes of the Lord search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. What a fool you have been! From now on, you will be at war.”
Isaiah 19:11-13
What fools are the officials of Zoan! Their best counsel to the king of Egypt is stupid and wrong. Will they still boast to Pharaoh of their wisdom? Will they dare brag about all their wise ancestors? Where are your wise counselors, Pharaoh? Let them tell you what God plans, what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies is going to do to Egypt. The officials of Zoan are fools, and the officials of Memphis are deluded. The leaders of the people have led Egypt astray.
What fools are the counselors of Zoan! Their best counsel to the king of Egypt is stupid and wrong. Will they still boast of their wisdom? Will they dare tell Pharaoh about their long line of wise ancestors? What has happened to your wise counselors, Pharaoh? If they are so wise, let them tell you what the Lord Almighty is going to do to Egypt. The wise men from Zoan are fools, and those from Memphis are deluded. The leaders of Egypt have ruined the land with their foolish counsel.
Fools place their trust in the wrong people. Fools who trust in other fools don’t have a promising future!
Proverbs 15:14
A wise person is hungry for truth, while the fool feeds on trash.
Proverbs 1:22
“You simpletons!” she cries. “How long will you go on being simpleminded? How long will you mockers relish your mocking? How long will you fools fight the facts?”
Fools don’t believe the truth, while the wise crave it.
Proverbs 14:8
The prudent understand where they are going, but fools deceive themselves.
Fools don’t plan for the future; they live only for the moment.

It is no coincidence that Putin says the name of their most powerful nuclear weapon is Satan-2. He said it ‘has the capability of wiping out England in one strike’.
We must pray very hard for the conversion of sinners and those who persecute us, my dear brothers and sisters.
Even if it comes to nuclear strikes for the annihilation of nations, do not be afraid. Remember that the Lord, Our God, is the avenger.
Psalm 94
1 The Lord is a God who avenges.
O God who avenges, shine forth.
2 Rise up, Judge of the earth;
pay back to the proud what they deserve.
3 How long, Lord, will the wicked,
how long will the wicked be jubilant?
4 They pour out arrogant words;
all the evildoers are full of boasting.
5 They crush your people, Lord;
they oppress your inheritance.
6 They slay the widow and the foreigner;
they murder the fatherless.
7 They say, “The Lord does not see;
the God of Jacob takes no notice.”
8 Take notice, you senseless ones among the people;
you fools, when will you become wise?
9 Does he who fashioned the ear not hear?
Does he who formed the eye not see?
10 Does he who disciplines nations not punish?
Does he who teaches mankind lack knowledge?
11 The Lord knows all human plans;
he knows that they are futile.
12 Blessed is the one you discipline, Lord,
the one you teach from your law;
13 you grant them relief from days of trouble,
till a pit is dug for the wicked.
14 For the Lord will not reject his people;
he will never forsake his inheritance.
15 Judgment will again be founded on righteousness,
and all the upright in heart will follow it.
16 Who will rise up for me against the wicked?
Who will take a stand for me against evildoers?
17 Unless the Lord had given me help,
I would soon have dwelt in the silence of death.
18 When I said, “My foot is slipping,”
your unfailing love, Lord, supported me.
19 When anxiety was great within me,
your consolation brought me joy.
20 Can a corrupt throne be allied with you—
a throne that brings on misery by its decrees?
21 The wicked band together against the righteous
and condemn the innocent to death.
22 But the Lord has become my fortress,
and my God the rock in whom I take refuge.
23 He will repay them for their sins
and destroy them for their wickedness;
the Lord our God will destroy them.

Friday, Twenty Sixth Week in Ordinary Time
(Liturgical Colour: Green: A (1))
First Reading Baruch 1:15-22 We have been disobedient to the Lord our God.
Integrity belongs to the Lord our God; to us the look of shame we wear today, to us, the people of Judah and the citizens of Jerusalem, to our kings and princes, our priests, our prophets, as to our ancestors, because we have sinned in the sight of the Lord, have disobeyed him, and have not listened to the voice of the Lord our God telling us to follow the commandments which the Lord had ordained for us. From the day when the Lord brought our ancestors out of the land of Egypt until today we have been disobedient to the Lord our God, we have been disloyal, refusing to listen to his voice. And so the disasters, and the curse which the Lord pronounced through his servant Moses the day he brought our fathers out of Egypt to give us a land where milk and honey flow, have seized on us, disasters we experience today. Despite all the words of those prophets whom he sent us, we have not listened to the voice of the Lord our God, but, each following the dictates of his evil heart, we have taken to serving alien gods, and doing what is displeasing to the Lord our God.
The Word of the Lord
R/ Thanks be to God.
Responsorial Psalm Psalm 78(79):1-5,8-9
R/ Rescue us, O Lord, for the glory of your name.
O God, the nations have invaded your land, they have profaned your holy temple. They have made Jerusalem a heap of ruins. They have handed over the bodies of your servants as food to feed the birds of heaven and the flesh of your faithful to the beasts of the earth.
R/ Rescue us, O Lord, for the glory of your name.
They have poured out blood like water in Jerusalem; no one is left to bury the dead. We have become the taunt of our neighbours, the mockery and scorn of those who surround us. How long, O Lord? Will you be angry for ever; how long will your anger burn like fire?
R/ Rescue us, O Lord, for the glory of your name.
Do not hold the guilt of our fathers against us. Let your compassion hasten to meet us; we are left in the depths of distress.
R/ Rescue us, O Lord, for the glory of your name.
O God our saviour, come to our help. Come for the sake of the glory of your name. O Lord our God, forgive us our sins; rescue us for the sake of your name.
R/ Rescue us, O Lord, for the glory of your name.
Gospel Acclamation Psalm 144:13
Alleluia, alleluia! The Lord is faithful in all his words and loving in all his deeds. Alleluia!
Or: Psalm 94:8
Alleluia, alleluia! Harden not your hearts today, but listen to the voice of the Lord. Alleluia!
Gospel Luke 10:13-16 Anyone who rejects me rejects the one who sent me.
Jesus said to his disciples: ‘Alas for you, Chorazin! Alas for you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. And still, it will not go as hard with Tyre and Sidon at the Judgement as with you. And as for you, Capernaum, did you want to be exalted high as heaven? You shall be thrown down to hell.
‘Anyone who listens to you listens to me; anyone who rejects you rejects me, and those who reject me reject the one who sent me.’
The Gospel of the Lord
R/ Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

(Readings for the memorial)
(There is a choice today between the readings for the ferial day (Friday) and those for the memorial. The ferial readings are recommended unless pastoral reasons suggest otherwise)
First Reading Philippians 3:8-14 I look on everything as so much rubbish if only I can have Christ.
I believe nothing can happen that will outweigh the supreme advantage of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For him I have accepted the loss of everything, and I look on everything as so much rubbish if only I can have Christ and be given a place in him. I am no longer trying for perfection by my own efforts, the perfection that comes from the Law, but I want only the perfection that comes through faith in Christ, and is from God and based on faith. All I want is to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and to share his sufferings by reproducing the pattern of his death. That is the way I can hope to take my place in the resurrection of the dead. Not that I have become perfect yet: I have not yet won, but I am still running, trying to capture the prize for which Christ Jesus captured me. I can assure you my brothers, I am far from thinking that I have already won. All I can say is that I forget the past and I strain ahead for what is still to come; I am racing for the finish, for the prize to which God calls us upwards to receive in Christ Jesus.
The Word of the Lord
R/ Thanks be to God.
Responsorial Psalm Psalm 1:1-4,6
R/ His delight is the law of the Lord. or R/ Happy the man who has placed his trust in the Lord. or R/ The just will flourish like the palm-tree in the courts of our God.
Happy indeed is the man who follows not the counsel of the wicked; nor lingers in the way of sinners nor sits in the company of scorners, but whose delight is the law of the Lord and who ponders his law day and night.
R/ His delight is the law of the Lord. or R/ Happy the man who has placed his trust in the Lord. or R/ The just will flourish like the palm-tree in the courts of our God.
He is like a tree that is planted beside the flowing waters, that yields its fruit in due season and whose leaves shall never fade; and all that he does shall prosper.
R/ His delight is the law of the Lord. or R/ Happy the man who has placed his trust in the Lord. or R/ The just will flourish like the palm-tree in the courts of our God.
Not so are the wicked, not so! For they like winnowed chaff shall be driven away by the wind: for the Lord guards the way of the just but the way of the wicked leads to doom.
R/ His delight is the law of the Lord. or R/ Happy the man who has placed his trust in the Lord. or R/ The just will flourish like the palm-tree in the courts of our God.
Gospel Acclamation John 8:12
Alleluia, alleluia! I am the light of the world, says the Lord; anyone who follows me will have the light of life. Alleluia!
Gospel Luke 9:57-62 'I will follow you wherever you go'.
As Jesus and his disciples travelled along they met a man on the road who said to him, ‘I will follow you wherever you go.’ Jesus answered, ‘Foxes have holes and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.’
Another to whom he said, ‘Follow me’, replied, ‘Let me go and bury my father first.’ But he answered, ‘Leave the dead to bury their dead; your duty is to go and spread the news of the kingdom of God.’ Another said, ‘I will follow you, sir, but first let me go and say goodbye to my people at home.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Once the hand is laid on the plough, no one who looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.’
The Gospel of the Lord
R/ Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

God is love, but that's not all He is
Luke 16:24 “And he cried out and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus so that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool off my tongue, for I am in agony in this flame.’
We don't like to think about these things but the majority of people will burn in hell (Matthew 7:13-14). The ones who live for Christ in this life will live forever in comfort, while the ones who live for themselves will live eternally in agony. As Matthew 25:46 tells us, “These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
Yes, those who will perish without Christ will be in agony in hell as Jesus said. And unlike what some may think, hell isn't a place where God is absent. All the torment of those in hell will be on full display in heaven, where "the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever" and it'll be "in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb" (Revelation 14:10-11).
We fool ourselves by thinking we can sin as much as we want because Christ's blood covers all those sins that we are willingly chasing after. Yes, Christ's blood does cover our sins if we repent of them (Proverbs 28:13, Matthew 3:8, Luke 13:3, Acts 17:30, 1 John 1:9, etc.).
And what is repentance? As noted by John MacArthur, "The Greek word (metanoeō) behind repent means more than regret or sorrow... it means to turn around, to change direction, to change the mind and will... Repentance involves sorrow for sin, but sorrow that leads to a change of thinking, desire, and conduct of life."
We don't sin so grace may abound even more. As Paul said, "Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? May it never be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it?" (Romans 6:1-2).
But if we're free from the law we can sin, right? As Paul also said, "Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? May it never be!" (Romans 6:15).
To willingly chase after sin is to let go of the covering of the blood of Christ (Hebrews 10:27).
God is love but He's also a jealous and vengeful God, capable of anger (Exodus 34:14; Psalm 94:1; 1 Kings 11:9). Interestingly enough, this is also the reason why apostate Oprah Winfrey says she has abandoned an orthodox view of Christianity. Far too many people want to just stick with a God who is only love, but dread the thought He should be just as well.
God is love but His love isn’t unconditional. As R.C. Sproul said, “When I hear preachers stand up and say that ‘God loves everybody unconditionally,’ I want to scream... He’s placed an absolute condition by which He requires... He commands all men everywhere to repent of their sins and to come to Christ.”
Know the God whom you serve according to Scripture.

PROCLAMATION for UNSHAKABLE HOPE
My God turns my darkness into light. (1)
The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in Him! (2)
I will call upon the Lord and He will be with me. In difficult times, He will deliver me. He is my salvation. (3)
God sees my trouble and considers my grief. (4)
He is my Helper. (5)
I destroy every obstacle that keeps me from knowing God. I take all negative thoughts captive and teach them to obey Christ. (6)
The God of hope fills me with all joy and peace, So that I may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (7)
When doubts fill my mind, His comfort gives me new hope and cheer. (8)
I’m anxious about nothing, but in every situation I tell the Lord, with thanksgiving, my needs. The peace of God, which surpasses all my own thinking, Will guard my heart and my mind in Christ Jesus. Whatever is true, noble and right, pure, lovely
And excellent, I think about such things. (9)
God will uphold me with His righteous right hand. (10)
God will restore, support, and strengthen me, And He will place me on a firm foundation. (11)
The Lord has plans to prosper me, not to harm me. He has plans to give me hope and a future. (12)

God Never Forsakes
"For the Lord will not reject His people; He will never forsake His inheritance." – Psalm 94:14
No, nor will He cast even so much as one of them. Man has his castoffs, but God has none; for His choice is unchangeable, and His love is everlasting. None can find out a single person whom God has forsaken after having revealed Himself savingly to him.
This grand truth is mentioned in the psalm to cheer the heart of the afflicted. The LORD chastens His own; but He never forsakes them. The result of the double work of the law and the rod is our instruction, and the fruit of that instruction is a quieting of spirit, a sobriety of mind, out of which comes rest. The ungodly are let alone till the pit is digged into which they will fall and be taken; but the godly are sent to school to be prepared for their glorious destiny hereafter. Judgment will return and finish its work upon the rebels, but it will equally return to vindicate the sincere and godly. Hence we may bear the rod of chastisement with calm submission; it means not anger, but love.
God may chasten and correct, But He never can neglect; May in faithfulness reprove, But He ne’er can cease to love.
