Things I learned today in England:
Umbrellas do fall from the heavens in England 😂😂🇬🇧
Apparently, popsockets are not a thing here. There was exactly 1 popsocket (or any sort of phone grip) in town and 1 person who knew what i was talking about. Everyone else was confused by what I was talking about (seriously? Are these purely an American thing?)
I sadly lost mine at the train station yesterday, and since my hands aren't big enough to actually grip my phone AND take a pic, I needed a grip STAT. 😂

Pigeons look so puntable. I would never hurt an animal but look at that body shape, it's so plump and perfect to be taken for a wingless flight. They look like they would fly very far like a football. One time I stepped on one but I didn't mean it and I felt very bad (the pigeon was ok), it was an enlightening experience however and it further confirms my thesis.

Chapter 17 - Professional humiliation (punting)
‘I can’t bear it when people call me the Brightest Witch of My Age or any of that crap,’ she said quietly. ‘I can’t bear it that people think I’m some genius. Because I didn’t have a choice - it was that or die. And I know without a shadow of a doubt,’ her voice finally cracked. ‘I know that if people found out about my parents they would call me a monster.’
In which Draco makes a picnic, humiliates himself on the river, and they talk about the war.

oh, hey, it’s been a while. Here’s the frontispiece drawing from my grandmother’s copy of The Lion Hunter.
There is SO much silly stuff going on here - it is a self-conscious PUNTING picture - the pole is clearly a nod to the Rider-Waite Tarot deck (Page of Wands, I’m guessing, but his face is obscured, so no doubt purposefully also the Three of Wands... “the man with three staves”) - Kidane is being the Fisher King - and also Kidane just looks a ton like my dad. Or like me doing a drawing of my dad, anyway.
