“All The V Words” put on a stellar performance last Saturday night at Respectable Street in downtown West Palm Beach, during this year’s indie music festival “Bumblefest”. Their performance was furiously fun, provocative, and full of power and intention. All The V Words have an incredibly distinct and tight sound, making it undeniably clear that this band is no novice to the rock music scene. They categorize themselves as “Vivid Rock”, described as a combination of sub-genres of both alternative and punk rock, with a “psychedelic song-oriented approach”, all derived from each member’s past experience.

All The V Words include: Violet Vulvalicious Vox (Vocals), also known as Paige Harvey of South Florida’s 90’s gothic-alternative band The Livid Kittens; Vivian Volume (Guitar), a/k/a Rich DeFinis of the Chant, originally based out of South Florida and later moving on to Atlanta; Valora Vice (Guitar/Vocals and Songwriter) Julie Blumel of all female punk band Angry Pudding from West Palm Beach, Florida; Vom Vargas (Bass Guitar), otherwise known as Jeff Hodapp of 80’s punk band Roach Motel based out of Gainesville, Florida and Morbid Opera of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and Vic Vile (Drummer), also known as Chris Dino of the Ruins from Lake Worth, Florida.  Indeed, with this combination of talent, what has been created is a recipe for success!

Bumblefest 2019: Your Mini Guide to the South Florida Microfest

The South Florida micro-music festival enters it’s eighth year with national acts such as The Blank Tapes, Big Bliss; and local favorites The Darling Fire, Spirit and the Cosmic Heart, In Motion, Obsidian and more.

West Palm Beach- A band’s power comes from it’s belief in it’s roots.

The sidewalks, garages, pot-hole filled roads, alleyways and small, smoky clubs that echo the sound produced by not just instruments alone, but the belief within it.

And while Florida can find itself in the news for some of the oddest of things, one endearingly beautiful oddity that can be proved time and time again, is the passion the musicians, artists, listeners and viewers that inhabit it’s coasts.

On any given night, if you roam the streets of West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Orlando or Lakeland just to name a few, there is always the hidden surprise of a local act, playing the stage like they’re playing to a crowd at Glasto; a vision to the ears and in the places you least expect them.

This is where longtime local print music publication, Purehoney Magazine’s Bumblefest comes into perfect position, collecting a good handful of local and national indie and unsigned bands alike to broaden your ears and music libraries, and perhaps most importantly, to show just how deep the love of music runs in the community.

The microfestival, now in it’s eighth year and taking place inside and out of venues on the iconic 500 Block of Clematis Street in the center of Downtown West Palm Beach, takes place September 13th and 14th with 6 stages and an ambitious line-up that includes national acts such as Big Bliss (Brooklyn), The Fantastic Plastics (NYC), Worn-Tin (Santa Monica), The Blank Tapes (L.A.) and local flavors from all corners including Ghostflower (Miami), Palomino Blonde (Miami), Boston Marriage (Orange County, FL), The Dewars (West Palm Beach) and many more, culminating in a 37 band affair.

Tickets for the 18+ event are currently on sale in the form of two day passes going for $20, with prices going up to $25 the week before the festival (September 6th) and $30 at the door; Single Day Passes will also be available for $20 that day.

It’s not a complete affair, as the breadth of South Florida music in particular could fill a country, with bands and individuals giving it their all in small corners statewide, all playing with, to best quote The Killers, a “magic soaking my spine” type feeling.

So take it as a small taster into the kaleidoscope; a two day trip into one of the best, and most underrated music scenes in the nation, and emerge from the rabbit hole with a new appreciation and the initiative to support your local artists.
