This isn't even like, that allegorical of a story h o w tf do they distill down to, like. both of them being stubbornly solid in their own senses of self while also inexorably being affected by each other because to live, to be human, is to grow and change and respond to your environment including when your environment encompasses the people in it.

They are Not high concept allegories for Good and Evil except they kind of are but only in the sense that as complex rounded people they each embody their ideal, while also. fuckin'. possessing... no... obtaining the hecking. dots that each part of the taijitu has.. like they don't start the book with them but as we go through they swirl together and balance each other out while also taking in a part of each other in themselves, but importantly, without it changing the essence of themselves...

I'm so mad at them right now how do they read as so fleshed out as to have the verisimilitude of person-like complexity while conversely representing their archetypes not through conceptual constructed metaphor but through them simply embodying the ideals which they are shown to hold and uphold... how is this allowed

Watching the first episode of the Thousand Autumns donghua:

A highlight for me was definitely the sense of awe and excitement I felt when I saw the three demonic sect leaders illustrated. I cannot describe it.

All in all, I loved it. I'm looking forward to the next volume of the English translation of the novel!
