forever angry at the fact that quirins letter was built to be this mystery, i mean, we are giving scenes of him writing that letter, there is purposely focus on that letter when he's holding it up to the air like he's hoping that maybe it won't get covered by the amber, its something important, something he's writing that might possibly be the last words he will ever leave his son (that he knows of) but then when we have a chance to read what was on that letter, it just gets burned and we're told all it said was "i'm proud of you?" fuck off. that was not what was originally said n you cannot bullshit me like that chris.

Apparently, some fans think that Varians last name is Ruddiger, and I'm just confused as to how this misconception even came about. My best guess as to how this happened is that "Varian Ruddiger" was probably written in some official script or book or something, and people thought that was Varians last name when it references both Varian and Ruddiger, it was just written without a comma as a mistake. But still, how could some people even think that Varians last name is the same name as his pet raccoon? It just doesn't make sense to me.

There's a book called Rapunzel's World that's an introduction to the series, introducing characters and locations from season one. In that book, Varian, Quirin, and Ruddiger are titled as "The Ruddiger Family." Despite crew members decrying it as incorrect, some people have latched onto it and insist it's his last name.

Most times when a parent’s 14yo kid disobeys them it ends in an argument and a grounding. It breaks my heart the way Varian cringes seeing Quirin in pain. It’s like the shock is hurting him just as much if not more than Quirin.

Also I think this should count as a testament to Varian’s old villain arc shining through but for good for once. This scene cements and revisits what his whole arc in season 1 was about- that Varian will do ANYTHING to keep his loved ones safe. Even if it means potentially harming them.
