I don’t really play in Riverview but from time to time I like to remodel the builds there . I’m not trying to change the whole thing but to adapt it according to the description / name / use for the building.
REMINGTON's RUSE
Remodeling of Remington's Ruse, home to the Jones Household in Riverview
Renovated on patch 1.67 -Originally in Riverview so best placed there (Size: 40x40) -  Lot label = residential lot , comes with original household so should be in the Household bin.
Quirky house with lots of different rooms on 3 different floors + basement plus 4th floor with a Level Skip marker, that includes a balcony and room with sleeping bag, a walkway with treasure chest and a hidden room . Bonehilda's coffin and the 4 urns of the Remington family members are dispatched all around the house.

We have a very unique property today. It’s huge, has some great quirky features, is currently a residence can be used as a home/business combo, and is only $165K. Built in 1940, it has 4bd. 2ba. is in Palmyra, Illinois. Check this out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m not sure if this room is antique shop, but it looks like it is. Anyway, look at the wall of shelving made of tables. This is so cute.
Tumblr media
Check out this gothic fixture that looks like it came from a church. Nice.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The main bd. is spacious and look at the big window. Isn’t that glass pretty? It lets in light, but you can’t see thru it, so it provides privacy, as well.
Tumblr media
The main bd. also has this large walk-in closet.
Tumblr media
Here we have double swinging doors.
Tumblr media
The kitchen is large and has a counter with retro soda fountain stools.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The kitchen is huge and features a splatter paint floor.
Tumblr media
In the laundry area, the new washer & dryer are included in the sale of the house.
Tumblr media
The home is large enough to put up walls to section some of the rooms off, like the open, spacious dining room.
Tumblr media
In this corner is a TV/family room.
Tumblr media
They have a home gym area.
Tumblr media
And, some large bird cages.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What a cute, vintage bath.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
One of the secondary bedrooms.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This may be one of the bds. that they’re not using.
Tumblr media
Either this is a utility room, or a 2nd kitchen.
Tumblr media
Looks like some sort of a loft. The description says that there’s an elevator that goes down to basement, which is intriguing.
Tumblr media
I would imagine that this is where you could set up a business.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It even has an office.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Finally, there’re 1.33 acres that include an above ground pool and a firepit. There’s a lot of potential for only $165K.

Hey moo :)
Can I ask a question? You moved into your house not that long ago right? Have you done any house projects since you moved in? Or discovered any house secrets?
Tumblr media
Most of the weird house stuff was stuff that literally drew me to want to buy it in the first place tbh
Like the photos were pleasantly honest! (Which is great considering I bought this bitch ONLINE without ever seeing it in person hahaha 🫠)
Like I can tell that whoever made this house wanted to make something original and quirky and I'm in love with it. There are so many weird angles and design choices with zero rhyme or reason. like why do those walls connect at a 30° angle like that?? Why are there beams everywhere? What shape is that room even supposed to be???
It's just.. FUN. Literally when I saw the pictures on zillow for this place, I was like "weird!" But then saved it. And then returned to it over and over again while looking at other places and eventually I just knew it was the one. Like I couldn't get it out of my mind
But like, how could I pass it up? It was less than 200k$ and 2300 square feet on 5 acres of land down a wooded lane!! J-j-j-jackpot!
There are some totally weird and funky design choices and there's a lot I WANT to do.
Some examples (ignore lazy or nonexistent decorating, i havent gotten around to doing anything yet):
Tumblr media
There's this nasty ass wall paneling throughout like 1/3rd of the house that looks like the walls of a motor home and I HATE IT. It's ugly and stupid and I tore off one panel to see what was underneath and guess what! It's normal wall! (Ignore hot lady calendar)
Tumblr media
Except the glue from the paneling kinda ripped off parts of it but like THEY JUST GLUED THIS SHIT ON OVER WALLPAPER?? WHY? WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT? JUST REMOVE THE WALLPAPER AND PAINT, ITS SO MUCH EASIER THAN THROWING UP THIS UGLY BULLSHIT. ugh
So like yeah I wanna remove all of that, but it's gonna be a big project because there's a LOT and some of it is underneath the cabinets in the kitchen. Yikes.
Pretty much every ceiling is tall and slanted in some weird way, which makes me dread painting because how am I supposed to paint super high up like that when I only got a 7 foot ladder???
The house is 1.5 stories too, which means that there's a partial upstairs that is essentially just a little loft thing that looks out over the living room and then this small, strange room we affectionately refer to as "Travis's room" for reasons I think will soon be obvious....
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We will honestly probably have to hire a contractor to come look at this upstairs area because part of the ceiling is like... collapsing? And all gross and dirty? (Kinda visible in that second photo) It's not attached to the roof so like, the outside is fine and isn't leaking or in danger of caving in but idk it's just kinda weird and I have no idea what the thought process was for this whole upstairs area. Like what is this narrow little sliver of room here? (Ignore hot wheels tracks)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And the ceiling fan next to the staircase is SO CLOSE lmao if it's on and you lean even a little bit over the railing, you're getting brained. Like in this pic I'm not reaching out, just lifting my arm to touch it (ignore dust, I don't clean and you can't make me)
Tumblr media
The living room is really big but it's also weirdly shaped so organizing my furniture is a nightmare. Especially since there's a pellet stove (currently not working) on one wall. (ignore dirty socks, mismatched cheap lamps, messy cat tree corner behind couch, big ugly coffee table I got for free that used to be black until I sanded it down but then got bored and left it as is)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As of right now, I haven't done much to the place because wow apparently home improvement takes effort and costs money??? Go figure. And we've been pretty broke lately so I've just been collecting ideas for the time being.
I am absolutely gonna start painting this year though. My bedroom rn is just boring white so I wanna fix that. Maybe do something dark and warm like a dark brown or green or hmm something like that. The room I've been calling the "gym" (because that's where I put the treadmill) will probably get done next since it's such a blank slate and should be easy to fix up.
And I absolutely want to mess around with my office because the way it's arranged and decorated rn is lame. They painted a bunch of rooms an ugly ass flat brown color, including several closets, my office, and the spare bathroom so THATS got to go.
I want to start decorating for real, finally buy some frames for the art I've been collecting so I can hang them up on some of these tall ass walls.
I also have plans to make a catio out back and even have a bunch of wood and some of the frames constructed but I got bored and abandoned it haha 😄
Oh and I want to reeeeally start doing stuff with the outside. I want to plant trees and maybe do a garden this year, tear up the plants I don't want and replace them with ones I do, clean up the big ass plot of land that's just overgrown brush and weeds and maybe make it into an orchard? Get some fruit trees and make some cute little rows? Maybe I'll even build a fence and a pond and put flowers everywhere. You know, for the bugs 💌🐝🐛🦋🕷
Now i just need to win a million dollars so I can afford to do it all 🥲

#7 New Girl
Plot: Jess gets home from a trip and finds her boyfriend with another woman. Since living at her friend Cece's sofa isn't a permanent solution she has to find somewhere to live. This is how she ends up in a loft with three quirky guys. And life as she knows it changes forever. This is sitcom at its finest, with comedy, friendship and love in the center. They struggle with careers, feelings and grown up life, but always have each other.
Years: 2011-2018
Seasons: 7
My story: I can't really remember how I found this series, but probably on Netflix sometime back around 2016. I was easily dragged into the relateable yet dreamy everyday lives of the people in apartment 4D. I've always been jealous about Jess's determination and passion for her dreams, something I feel I miss myself. Nick lives his life without caring about what anyone else thinks and Winston is an inspiring late bloomer. I just love them all! I've watched this a lot, it's true, but I do that with many other series too. Somehow, this is the only one that's been stuck on my boyfriend's brain. I sometimes catch him humming the theme song and everytime I watch a sitcom he asks if it's New Girl...
Teachable moments: Being a proper adult is hard and if you're gonna be a goof - be it around other goofs and have some fun on the way.
Best character: Nick is a complicated young man in an old man's body. He only eats crap, loves his job at a bar and always says the wrong and right thing at the same time. He's every girl's dream and total nightmare, all wrapped up into one. His love for Jess is the truest feeling in the world and I ship them from episode one. I just want to sot down and pick his brain for a while.
Best episode: "Prince" (S3E14). A party at Prince's house, need I say more?!
Best quote: "Cece, you're a hot slob!" (Nick)
Fun fact: Zooey Deschanel, who plays Jess, is the sister of Emily Deschanel, who played the exentric phorensic anthropologist and lead role in the crime drama Bones (2005-2017).
If you like this you might also like: Modern Family, The good place, Friends, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Minx.

Tumblr media
Numbness. Empty.
What else could she say or do that had not already been said? There was no point in wasting her energy to try and explain further. One minute she was fighting the rules the next her paramour had been giving her a play-by-play in all the things she would have to do to gain more favor in society. At first, she didn’t want to admit it, play by the rules, follow the code and fall in line.
She would never.
Until she did.
To her dismay of having to give up all her tendencies and cardinal luxuries, there was plenty more to gain, even notoriety within the very establishments and society that could be intriguing from time to time which wasn’t something she could deny to be entertaining at the least. Vahalia enjoyed the chatter and the quirky gazes people would set upon her. What was worse in a patriarchal society was her being a woman with a lot of money and a budding reputation, despite her father nearly obliterating it for the Cress line years ago – she certainly had her work cut out for her. Not that she could mind; business and keeping busy was something Vahalia was practically born to do.
Gossip still swirled; she heard the whispers and seen the casual lean from the women who would graze by the shop windows. Occasionally looking as if they were interested in shopping – what else were wives to do during midday and plenty of time on her hands?
Vahalia endured plenty for her name's sake, holding it above all else, even herself. It was much of the reason why a guest room that had been occupied for so long had now remained bare and all she was left with was the nagging reminder of a sour conversation that kept replaying in her brain case.
"Out for some air?" she asked, casually plucking a broken and wayward thorn from her glove and flicking it aside.
Hakan was leaning sidelong against the pillar, patiently, seemingly waiting for the witch-woman. The signature clack of heels on the ground alerted him to her as was ever the norm, the voice confirming it. He shook his head, a huff escaping, misting in front of his face. "No. Out here for you. Decided we'd been avoiding each other enough. Or rather, you avoiding me, and me giving you space."
Her head gave way to a small tilt. If she could have lofted her brow any higher she would have. After a brief moment, it loosed and she sighed, "I've been catching up with things I've missed and keeping a few visits as necessary. I wouldn't say I've been avoiding you."
Of course he feigned acceptance with a quiet hum. "Right. The business of rebuilding your house doesn't stop just because you were abducted, imprisoned, and beaten. Who'd need, or want, to take some time to rest after that."
"Quite the quandary coming from someone who would have sooner let into me and try to chastise me soon after rather than inquire on the state of my health. So let us leave that to lay where it may.  I've had my time to rest, whether you've been present to witness it or not."
"Tried to do that. You left, gave me the cold shoulder. Trying to do that again, now."
"You expected me to sit there and have you berate me further? More than you've already done -- I don't think so. You've said more than you needed to on that ship."
He huffed. "Doing so right after you'd been recovered was wrong. I freely admitted that. Went so far as to make amends for that in the way I know how. You refused, which you've never done before. So, what am I supposed to do?"
Vahalia shook her head in disbelief, "Maybe temper your mouth a little better? It's a start. I'm not impressed by people who think it fun to insult my intelligence because they have anger issues."
"I know that, just like I know what does impress you; being told the truth. It wasn't timely, it wasn't done well in the slightest, but can you honestly say I was wrong to call you out on going somewhere alone? You, a foreign noble in the Ul'dah of all places, a cesspit, who just so happens to be the bookkeeper of a company owned and formerly run by a criminal."
The woman had to temper herself from rolling her eyes. He still decided to push the issue. A hand lifted, middle finger rubbing upwards between her brows, "Spare me the lecture I'm not a child. I'm quite aware of the circumstances and hindsight is 20/20. I'm not going to further explain myself to you or anyone for doing my job and there being a rare occasion that something happened." her hand dropped away, "Quite the deduction you have of my employer though."
"Not trying to lecture you.” Hakan sighed,”Not even trying to stoke your anger, even if the apparent absence of it doesn't sit well with me-- Which it doesn't. You were taken, and aye you've probably sworn retribution on everyone tied to the Mirage, but the moment I-- we, got you back, you've busied yourself with the usual things. Like it never happened. As for Hadriel? Nijah already implied what the company did when inviting me, and with that piece of knowledge anyone could come to the same conclusion."
In this moment she looked a little baffled, "Am I supposed to wallow and hole up in my manor and sit on my hands? Should I let you decide for me when the time is right? Better yet, when did you become a mindreader?" she sighed deeply, growing increasingly irritated, "His wife owned the company before Ms. Wolff, she was never a criminal. Quite the little sleuth you are who has everyone figured out and you hold yourself infallible through and through."
"That'd be quite the joke, wouldn't? My suggesting you do either of those things; wait, sit, obey.  You'd laugh in my face, which at least would be something, before maybe getting angry. But you don't get angry. Not in front of me, not outside the once, and likely not in front of anyone."
"Then why bring any of it up?"
"Because everyone gets angry, and everyone needs to let it out. Noble ladies who were taken and abused, for one, and witches harboring monsters within themselves. You happen to be both, but all I ever see is you choking down the fire rather than letting it out."
Vahalia blinked, "When they feel they are ready to or wish to. That's not for anyone else to decide, certainly not you for me. No one knows what I think or what goes on within my mind from the day to day or how I choose to subdue something. There is a time and place for everything and if I choose to drink or chew fire, that's my choice."
"Tch, you're certainly right about no one knowing with the way you handle things. I try and more than half the time still end up wondering what's going on in there. It irks that I don't, which is why I'm out here now; to ask instead of just sitting back, watching. I know full well how strong you are, but no one ends up completely unaffected like you're trying to come off."
There was a swell of irritation that filled her when she breathed in, that cold Ishgardian air wrapped in a pique of fury. She was already provoked, the more he talked -- exasperating -- her breath loosed, "You never asked. Sitting here beating around the bush and hitting my ire until I explode isn't the fastest course to getting answers. With how things have been I don't think I'm any closer to expressing anything to you either about what is on my mind. I'm not trying to 'come off' a certain way. I don't have time to sit and stew in my feelings or to let them control me."
"I wasn't exactly afforded a chance till now. And beyond the fact that I was angry for one moment, one outburst after having to deal with you being in captivity and dealing with who knows what aside from a beating, when have I given you cause not to confide in me as you have before now?"
"You're asking me to share my emotions which is crossing a boundary we had set from day one. I can confide in you about dealings and happenings around me but I'm not interested in expressing my thoughts and feelings on something until I’m ready. Unless it has to do with you, I don't think it's something you need to know until I make it so.."
Hakan’s gaze sharpened. "So the road only went only one way then? I confide in you about things you never /needed/ to know, but you deny the reverse. Why? Aren't you exhausted of having just yourself to rely on? To deal with, to obsess, with what thoughts or feelings you have."
She shook her head, "I've never ask any more from you than you were willing or wanted to give and I think I've kept very true to making sure I haven't crossed any boundaries we've both adhered to. If I reply on myself I'm not open to disappointment, myself is all I have known for a long time. I'm not exhausted by it, I'm safe."
"True enough. You've never asked. Which just as well means you've never tested, and so never learned the full extent or significance to what I'd give. Do you really fear disappointment so much that you don't want to risk even the chance of being told no? That what you ask is too much, can't be done?"
Yet again there was a sigh and Vahalia’s hands shifted, "Where is this going? I'm really not in the mood for playing chase, guessing games or riddles? I'm not afraid of anything I just do not see it as necessary or beneficial." socially exhausted her hand motioned towards him, "I don't understand. What is it you want from me Hakan? I tire of the back and forth."
"What chase is there, what game? Did I not just ask what's going on in your head, say that I want to understand instead of continuing to remain on the outside?" He pushed off from the pillar and walked to stand before her. "Everything you're doing right now, have been doing, you've been doing for your sister first and then yourself. Rebuilding your house, involving yourself with socialites, with politics, playing by rules I know you don't like in the slightest. You say all of that tires you. Yet you go right back to it after being taken, having your power stripped from you. I want to know what you're really thinking, what you're feeling."
She nearly laughed, ruby tiers splitting, "Right now, you tire me." it was a blunt honesty, "I have yet to sit with my thoughts fully and form any full opinion on anything or come to terms with how I feel so I have nothing to express. I'm tired, beyond that I carry on as usual because I must." a small shake of her head was expressed, "Right now....I have nothing else."
Hakan spoke again, "It's mutual, and the same likely goes for all else you don't say. Yet here I am, and here I remain." The edge in his gaze softened and stared down at Vahalia, no less exasperated than she. "If you've nothing else, why not just stop? Why not take the time that you have and just let yourself be instead of trying to distract yourself with that which will always be there?"
"Because these are obligations and I am beholden to them. I prefer to stay busy and keep going from one task to the next. I find my peace and my calm in between when it suits me. You're looking at surface things thinking I'm burdened to them. In a way, yes, but this is something I brought on myself to see to. I'll see it through. When I say I'm going to do something, I do it."
He fought the urge to growl and speak through clenched teeth. "Of cours,e you prefer that. To sit means you'd be vulnerable, and by all evidence, you hate that more than you hate disappointment, hate lies. All that does though is make it so when something gives, and something always gives, you'll be hit by everything you're trying to avoid all at once. You think that's safe?"
Vahalia scoffed lightly, a hand reaching up to fuss with his cuuuute little scarf, "It's safe enough and thats all it has to be. I don't know why you're trying to cool my heels now. You're the one who set me in motion; on this particular path in spite of knowing how I live my life. You knew what was required and you were right. So right now, I feel safe. Yes."
His eyes narrowed at being patronized. He didn't bother to hide his irritation at that point, the corner of his mouth tugging into a scowl. "Infuriating witch, I didn't set you on any path-- as if I even could. You choose what you want to hear just as you choose what you want to do. And far from trying to 'cool' your heels, I'm trying to keep your heels from burning out before you get where you're going to. Never mind it hardly seems like a place you'd want to go to in the first place."
It was here that her head tilted, fingers feeling the fabric of the scarf he wore, "Oh but you did. You told me all the things I would need to do to gain more favor in the society around me. You gave quite a few examples. I even recall getting quite miffed because you were right in the aspects you provided. Knowing everything I'd have to give up." her hand ticked away and she looked upward, "Your memory is fuzzy, I get it. But I don't need other people to decide for me when tasks become too much. I'm managing quite fine. Exceedingly to be precise, so you should worry more about yourself than me."
"My head's just fine, I wasn't the one who had it beat. The only true requirment I said you'd have to confront was the fact you, personally, would need an heir to continue your family. The rest was just what expectations your people, with their preciously prim and proper culture-" He reached forward to play with her collar and tie, "would expect. You living up to those expectations, playing by outdated rules? That was your choice, despite there being alternatives. And disregarding all that, I'd say I'm worrying as much as an employee is supposed to about their employer, a man their lover, who's just gotten done with being snatched."
She nearly laughed at his words and she inclined chin and neck close for him to fix her attire and appearance as he saw fit. Given he even knew how a tie worked, "If you say so. Dear." she flashed a grin, "Lover now am I? A bold choice of words, I think some would have to be in love to fit that role of lover. Besides, I've found my alternatives and I'm content with them."
"I do, Witch." He pinched the knot of her tie beneath finger and thumb where it sat just below her throat, then curled the rest of his fingers around it and gave the fabric a tug, pulling her toward him. "Lover, paramour, its all semantics unless you want me to use other terms. Not all of them are pretty though, and you've proven less than enthusiastic about one already. As for alternatives, I highly doubt paperwork is nearly as stimulating."
She might have been easily reeled in at any other time by him. Before perhaps. Her hand came up to reclaim her tie and her head tilted, expression a little reflective. Ah yes, those ‘choice words’. Her fingers tucked her tie back into the front of her jacket, "It isn't, but it's necessary at times. I think from here on out it might be for the best if we don't continue what we've been doing. If I'm to be taken seriously and make these steps going forward with Osric I cannot be in the sheets with you."
Hakan's practically froze, everything he'd been feeling before disappearing in an instant. It took him a moment to comprehend what he'd just heard. "Going forward with Osric," he repeated. "You're marrying him." His last words sounded as much as a question as they were a statement.
Vahalia smoothed her fingers down over her front, paying some attention to the tie itself, "Eventually, yes." she spoke and looked back up to her company, "I intend to make sure my sister's business is tended to first beforehand and he has business with his House to get in order. I didn't ask for the details but for now, that is his business. I imagine he has some accounts to settle."
Hakan's hand had hovered in the air between them, fingers closing into his palm. He let his fist remain in the space between them for a heartbeat more, then it dropped to his side. His expression had closed, become blank. "That isn't a partner. Just a burden around your neck to weigh you down. What if I don't care?"
She canted her head to the side, "Pardon? I'm not sure what you're insinuating. Osric wouldn't be a good partner and weigh me down? I guess that remains to be seen. And if you don't care then you don't care. No one is asking you to."
"No...I don't suppose you are. You never ask me anything after all." He exhaled a steady breath into the cold air, his gaze lacking the usual luster when he stared into her own hues. "I suppose you'll do as you will, as you have since you started on this 'path;' submitting to expectations, following rules to the letter. Should have taken a page from your book, avoided disappointment."
Of course, she took the barb aimed at her and she simply crossed her arms, "I'm not quite sure what you're getting at, but yes. I've come to terms with the fact that sometimes rules will have to be followed. It's a sacrifice in a way to give up my freedoms but I'm determined to see things through as has ever been the goal regarding my family."
"You know full well what I mean. Regardless, I'll be blunt since there's little enough to be lost on my end now; its a mistake. You've the mind, the will, the freedom, to see what you want realized, and you're giving it up when you don't have to. To play by rules in a game you look at derisively because you see yourself above it all. And you are. Marrying Osric will slow you down because he won't understand you. He'll play along for a little while, but it won't last. And while you'll have his resources at your disposal, it won't be much, not for a while. And by the time it's enough to be of worth it won't be worth anything you couldn't have gotten on your own."
"I don't need his resources currently, I just need the partnership and I think part or him needs it too. We both have our reasons and when we marry we have a whole lifetime to know one another, even moreso before actually getting married. Don't think for a moment I haven't considered all aspects of this. Ins and outs, what-ifs and doubts. I think in time he could come to understand me. Despite him knowing what he does of me and my personality he has never expected me to be different. I commend him for that. It isn't an easy task to take on a difficult woman and expect some sliver of kindness. I know I can be difficult but I know I have the ability to be kind as well and I do want to be kind -- or try."
"And all it took for him was agreeing to a potentially loveless marriage." He left more unsaid, but the silence itself spoke enough for him; by no means was the exchange a fair one given all he'd done to acquire it. Instead, he said  "Congratulations. And as now propriety is what matters, I'll collect my things from the room you've given me and leave at the earliest convenience."
Her lips pursed and she looked away at the mention of herself perhaps leaving Osric short of the one thing most people desperately strived for; even a piece of acceptance. What more was there to say? She had been good at taking the thorns for a while now. Going forward he had decided removing himself -- it was likely for the best as no man was about to keep a past partner of intimacy under the same roof. The three wouldn't be able to co-exist, "Your time has been appreciated. Your help." she added, "-- with Carerra. I suppose without her rearing with her trouble you and I just fell into a habit for a long time now. Don't think I don't enjoy you or your time -- your presence. Or that I haven't." Index finger drew at her cheek a moment, "Please."
Hakan took the instant she averted her gaze to turn on his heel, boot crunching against the frost covering the grounds. He wasn't really expecting her to speak, and he very much didn't want to hear it. But when she did, he paused on his way to the manor. Stood there, back to her, and just let the words sit. "Perhaps," he started, "I understand that. Rationally. But right now, it doesn't feel like it." He took another step forward, stopped again, and said "Happy Heavensturn." Then he continued on, waking away from her.
Vahalia chose silence this time and she simply looked over her shoulder to him. He was prompt to make his exit and not something she planned on stopping. If he sought to leave, she wouldn't stop him. Somehow, never feeling this coldness from him before. A heavy sigh simply left her since there was little else she could do. Hakan was a stubborn man as equal to her being a stubborn woman.
Mentally freeing herself from the torment for a brief moment, she brushed the light dusting of snow from the stone wall of the crypt she had been mindlessly tending, within was a collection of her family’s tomes had they not of meet the pyre. For generations, the custom remained, that was until Adrian’s death. Bury the dead, mourn for them with each Heavensturn and: “Light your candles.”
T’was a saying she had known since her childhood and one her mother often recited to she and Valeria nonstop. It was impressed that they would light their candles, fawn over memories and prayer for those long gone and for guidance. To the Twelve – to Halone. For Vahalia she prayed to whomever – or whatever – seemed to listen; even now.
A gloved hand moved once more along the chilled stone taking note of a fleck of color beyond the snow and within her process of silence and gilded thoughts there it was, a small creeping vine and speckled along it were clusters of soft yellow, six petals to each bloom. A beautiful little thing thriving in the midst of winter, surviving through frigid temperatures. A winter jasmine.
Ruby was the smile that Vahalia adorned, eventually twisting into a smirk and the witch-woman reached for one of the petals. The bells not too far off rang in the distance every hour, a sound she had come to embrace during her time in Ishgard and something that nagged at how long she had been out here tending to the small slivers that were left of the Cress name.
Anyroad, she knew to take such things as a sign. Perhaps this was a hint of good things to come. Perhaps a gentle nod towards a good year. After Hakan practically all but spat on her it was a much-needed boon, as quiet as it appeared undisturbed and silently growing under the weight of all the things that sought to destroy it – it thrived.
“Blessed Heavensturn indeed.” she mused softly, brushing away the surrounding snow from the delicate, yet resiliently growing flora.

another house I've been working on...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is what happens when you want to build a ranch... but you want to also make it kind of cool and modern... but also quirky and eco-friendly... and the sims living it are a weird mix of grunge and rancher and rock and roll... basically I was very indecisive, also there's a reason I usually stick to small houses lol. I like it for the most part but still a WIP.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
was really fun to build a barn and stable, just wish I could properly get the cow in there (i did try with resizing and hiding the cow shed, but that trick is broken in my game. sometimes it works sometimes it keeps saying it's blocked) also the ceilings/ ceiling paint appear and disappear at will lol. still happy I could build a loft.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
didn't take interior pics yet bc still working on it but I did cap these two rooms because they amuse me. the first is like the secret den where all the good honest hard-workin' ranchers go to play thrash metal at midnight lol. the walls are sound proof >_> and I just like this bedroom for my weird grungy emo girl. It's not what I wanted as a bedroom when I was a teenager, but idk, it was fun to put together.
it was fun to chill with sims so much this week. i gave myself eye strain and didn't do a lot of the other stuff I meant to do 0:) i do love the aesthetic in sims, i like to watch the shadows and light changing, the sound of birds and rain and rivers. seasons was the best pack XP
Tumblr media
and im so happy we have sleeping bags now so we can sleep under the stars xD living vicariously through my sims
Tumblr media Tumblr media
wanted to give sim!snufkin the new hat with the glorious feather but... it's even more gaudy than the other one. holds its shape too well and the brim is so flat (tho I like that it's broader). it's more important for snufkin's hat to be floppy than for it have a big feather. le sigh
as ive said my game is well and truly bugged. today, randomly, the firepit just stopped working. kept saying some interactions were blocked when they weren't. reset didn't help. also trying to mount a horse... every time the sim would get a little further, a little further, a little further... then poof, the game would teleport him and the horse back to just standing around. what worked with that was to move him and the horse to a different lot. suddenly they could ride no problem.
also I really love that all the animals interact with each other. the cat and sheep are always in the chicken coop. however I've encountered a problem with the sheep. with chickens, they're objects, and you can take care of them even if you're a visitor to the lot (ie they're not your chickens). horses count as a person, so you can't treat them the same, but you can cheat their needs if you have to. sheep, though, don't seem to have a way to cheat needs because they're objects. but unlike chickens, visiting sims can't take care of them. I went to visit a friend and found their sheep all dirty. I even got a pop-up saying the sheep was planning to run away and i was like what do you want me to do about it lol? there's no option for my sim to take care of a sheep that isn't theres. I don't get it.

Today’s mix:
Back to Mine by Danny Tenaglia 1999 Deep House / Downtempo
Well, this was definitely quite something. New York's Danny Tenaglia is chiefly known as a consummate conqueror of the packed house dancefloor, but here, with this third installment in the DMC label's popular Back to Mine series from '99, the DJ delivers a compilation that's wholly unorthodox.
Back to Mine is known for presenting mixes that are of a chillout nature, but this is actually barely a DJ mix or a chillout release. It's basically a jumbled up mess of songs, from the 60s through late 90s, that express Tenaglia's very own eclectic taste in music as it extends past the nightclub.
Guardian Critic Alex Petridis tries to gussy up this CD in the liner notes, showering it with ebullient praise by describing it as both slinky and seamless, but this feels pretty charitable on his part, because there's almost no cohesion between any of these selections and the transitions are almost nonexistent; a carefully crafted DJ mix this most certainly is not.
But that's okay, really, as long as you understand what this release actually is, which is a seemingly random scattershot of some of Danny's personal favorites.
Now, the heading in this post might feel a little bit misleading, because I've only classed this "mix" as being both deep house and downtempo, when in actuality, it's a bit more than that. But when I decide what genres to include in those headings, I only list the genres that have at least two songs to them, unless the release is too short or eclectic to do that, in which case, I list every genre that appears on the release, which is a pretty rare occurrence anyway.
So, while this CD has a few deep house and a couple downtempo cuts on it, it also has some vocal breakbeat-chill from Yello—evidently, that quirky electronic duo from Switzerland that gave us hits in the 80s like "Oh Yeah" from the Ferris Bueller soundtrack and "Bostich" still had plenty left to contribute in the late 90s—delightfully classy mid-90s acid jazz from UK group Outside, an innovative late 90s funky microhouse cut from Isolée, soulful mid-90s garage house from New Jersey's Kimara Lovelace, the second biggest hit of Ce Ce Peniston's career in her 1992 dancy R&B bop, "Keep On Walkin," a late 70s disco-funk classic from Roy Ayers, a mid-90s edit of the debut soul single from Oleta Adams, and a nice and fun piece of bossa from Sérgio Mendes & Brasil '66.
*panting*
See what I mean? A totally discombobulated smorgasbord of music here; like throwing a long playlist of your favorites on shuffle and plucking out the first 74 minutes and then putting some rudimentary effects on it.
So, there's some really wonderful music on this album that spans a bunch of different genres and decades, but don't expect any of it to sequentially make much sense, because there doesn't appear to be any kind of thoughtful narrative here; it's just a bunch of songs that Danny Tenaglia's a personal fan of, from obscure to popular. All in all, it's worth listening to because the songs are good, but if you think you're getting a different type of Danny Tenaglia set here, you're not. because you’re not getting a set at all. He even admits it himself in the CD booklet, but back in '99, you'd only learn that fact after removing the plastic-wrap from the jewel case, which presumably happens only after you've purchased the CD itself 😉. And given that the previous volume in this series from Dave Seaman was an actual chillout DJ mix, from a guy who's not known for chillout mixes, I can see how a bunch of people would end up with buyer's remorse from this release, because of its lack of coherence.
But it's still ultimately a good time once you come to understand it for what it is!
Listen to the full mix here.
Highlights:
Yello - "To the Sea (Original Mix)" Danny Tenaglia - "Loft in Paradise" Outside - "The Plan/Minty" Isolée - "Beau Mot Plage" Bang the Party - "Bang Bang You're Mine (Full Vocal Remix)" Kimara Lovelace - "Only You" Ce Ce Peniston - "Keep On Walkin'" Roy Ayers - "Running Away" Oleta Adams - "Rhythm of Life (Heavenly Edit)" Crescendo - "Cairo (Duke Monster Mix)" Sérgio Mendes & Brasil '66 - "One Note Samba/Spanish Flea"

Red Hawks Estate - Former Medium Goblet Plot
This is the last design I was able to complete before I got my new computer. Receiving this commission meant a lot to me and it carried a lot of sentimental weight.
In my gameplay, my time at the Red Hawk Alliance was some of my best memories. I enjoyed the structure, the roleplay, and the level-headedness of the members. They’re quirky, funny, and just all around good people.
To be able to do this design for them meant I was able to give back to them in some way for providing me a home, refuge, and friendship when I stayed in trouble IRL often.
-
Lets dive into the design, because I could gush about this FC all day.
This concept brings in a lot of natural coloration and textures, pulling in warm colors and earthy tones to create a modern lodge feel. The outdoors has communal seating around a firepit, and an outdoor cooking area lightly shaded by the overcast of wysteria. The cooler colors of the grass and trees balance out the stone motif in this tudor style exterior as well as highlight the pops of red that are signature for the Red Hawk Alliance.
As one enters the building, they are greated by an open floor plan that sections off a kitchen and passage to the back rooms for FC members. The community feel is supposed to be apparent, and be an immersive yet relaxing roleplay atmosphere. There is an open stage able to be viewed from all seating on the main floor to highlight musical bards that wish to perform to their hearts content.
If one travels upward, they’ll feel closed in somewhat by a delicate attic feel and be greeted by the more ‘lounge’ aspect with a modern fireplace and seating surrounding it. Piles of books, leftover research and more is scattered on tables and a shallow loft meant dual purpose for work and leisure.
The basement houses the area of business, maintaining a central office for use by the guild’s leadership as well as a ‘job board’ for adventurer’s seeking to take up work. A planning table with miniature pieces scattered about show its frequent use for jobs and missions alike.
To many, such as myself, this place was home. And for many, it always will be.
Congratulations on your new Large, Red Hawk Alliance. You’ve earned it!
