POST TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER, or PTSD as it's now commonly called, had not been a recognized mental illness in the early 1900s after WWI. Thomas is just one of thousands of men who fought for their lives on the front lines, fought for the honor of a King they had never met, for the dissolution of an argument they had not taken part in. Those who had survived had come back to their home countries expecting to return to their lives as normal only to find that they could not.

Many, like Thomas, were plagued with nightmares, frightening hallucinations, flashbacks, panic attacks, & other symptoms. Many, like his late friend Danny Whizzbang, had it much worse, completely consumed by their flashbacks & unable to recognize the real world around them, leaving them a danger to themselves or others. There were lucky men, though, amongst the counted veterans. Those were the dead.

Thomas has hidden most of his life from his family since his return from France anyway. It's almost guaranteed that he would hide this from them as well ; best if none of them caught sight of it, lest they pity him, or worse, take on the responsibility of trying to treat him. He suffers alone. Privately, in his bedchamber. He tells himself that he's shut the door on his time in France & that it doesn't follow him anywhere. He ignores the wound as it festers & rots.

He's never been completely overtaken by a flashback before. Not to the point that it controls his actions in the real world, outside of the confines of his own mind, to the point that he may hurt another person unintentionally. He considers himself above that kind of impulsivity, as he sees it to be. He is wrong.

It has just been a spark. An innocuous thing he's seen thousands of times ; from lighters & matches, firearms, canons, factory floors, metal on metal. Something that had never bothered him. Not before, during, or after the war, until now. He'd pulled a cigarette from his pack & gone to flick his lighter, & it had sparked, & he had frozen in place, trapped back on the battlefields of Flanders.

A heavy hand falls onto his shoulder with the intent to pull him backwards, put him on the ground where he would face certain death. So he turns around and grips the assailant by their throat, slams them up against a wall, & —

Thomas ?

Like a thunderclap everything slams back into focus, memories put back together like missing puzzle pieces, completing the gaps that cause the expression of confusion on his face. Once everything becomes clear again & Tommy realizes what must have happened, he takes his hand from Lark's throat as quickly as he had placed it there, holding his wrist like he's afraid he may lose control of it once more.

His chest heaves like he's just sprinted through the alleyways of Small Heath to lose a pursuing copper & a bead of sweat rolls down the side of his face as he looks around like he's checking to make sure everything is real & that he's not on the elaborate set of some cruel play, still cradling his hand like it's a weapon.

Finally he looks at Lark, meeting her eyes, breath slowing.

"I'm sorry," he says quietly, moving to turn and pick up the lighter & cigarette he'd dropped, placing the cigarette into his mouth to light it, successfully this time. Tommy looks over his shoulder while he fits his cap back onto his head, wisps of smoke obscuring his face. "... I'm sorry."

He takes his coat & leaves.

Bbb Lunar is back baby!

The way the fandom portrays him

I like the whole shy and very easily spooked type some people go with, although it sometimes does start to feel a bit off after a while

The 'Emo' kind of representation doesn't really feel right soooooooo

I'm giving u guys my interpretation of him in this head of mine

I see bbb Lunar/Dark as the most socially awkward and uncertain of all the elements

As I had mentioned a long while back, bbb dark/lunar would probably be empath/emotionally intelligent to parallel with Solar/Light(Cahaya) who was activated by deliberately increasing Boboiboy's intellectual capacity

But that doesn't mean empaths are always good at that kind of thing when it comes to themselves

There's also the whole bbb Api activation episode where it was found that stress was the reason this element was activated

Also, I have noticed that none of his elements have any... Uncertainty that he displays occasionally nor the awkwardness that i see at times and since bbb's emotions seem to be amplified in the forms of the corresponding element, I'd love to see an uncertain and awkward version of him :)
