namjoon and taehyung are not crash-and-burn or decay-and-rot they are more like gone-with-the-wind or how-to-disappear. more like “you have bigger things ahead of you” more like “i hope i don’t interfere with this future i hope this blood doesn’t stain your floor no it’s not my blood it’s just everywhere i don’t know where it came from” more like “you leave traces of yourself everywhere you can’t clean this up i won’t let you” the type of moment you have for a second that feels like a year. but all in all it is just a second made up by people who care too much about things they don’t know much about. too dependent on tiny information too dependent on the temporary. taehyung is scattered; he covers everything he touches like magic, like fireworks, like smoke. the problem is with kids like that is that they fuck up spectacularly sooner or later and force themselves to disappear, leaving shards of glass in their place as if disappearing makes up for any of the things they’ve tainted. namjoon has steadiness that is only a preconceived notion. a remnant of what used to be there. he isn’t steady but he lingers; lingers in places people do not exist to make sense of what he will never have; lingers in ghost cities until he too decides to erase everything. he hides from his guilt and the black blood on his hands because if nothing else he shares it. he shares every burden until they are both nothing more than whispers.

they exist in this in-and-out collapsing portal where taehyung never stays in one place for too long and doesn’t tell anyone why and when he finally rips through space itself trying to flee, namjoon will take his things and leave the city with pockets full of glass.

hmm now I am tempted to write a dual timeline taejoon au. I will tie in cape elizabeth somehow.

I enjoy reading your posts even if you write a book, I will definitely read it so, don’t apologize. I can’t help but feel bad about shipping ruining this fandom. We had Jin’s incident any no one even talked about it. Everyone is focused on proving the realness of their ship. I hate how the K-pop industry makes shipping a big part of the industry. I saw a lot of people saying that they feel like “killing” themselves just because of the rumors. The amount effort the Taekook shippers are putting in to debunk the rumors is scary.

The situation with Jin was absolutely terrifying, and I also saw some talk about a controversy with Coway and their contract renewal with Seokjin. There's a lot of garbage everywhere, but there's also a lot of good things going on. The release of Angel Pt. 1, Yoongi's solo tour, Namjoon's Vogue shoot, and Like Crazy becoming the most streamed song by a K-pop soloist this year ... I have quite an addiction to that song so I will ride or die for Like Crazy achievements ;)

I think that toxic shipping and prioritized fanservice is ruining the fandom -- but here's my controversial opinion -- I think that 'casual shippers' or 'literary shippers' can make a community more fun or interconnected, and I'll explain why. The Kpop industry definitely profits from fanservice, but luckily, BTS have said they don't really participate in that.

Casual shippers tend to just see someone and think, oh wow, they'd be kind of cute together, and go about their day. They're not making theories, they're not ripping other people to shreds for liking something else, and they're not promoting the ship as absolute truth. They're just sort of there, creating works of art, fiction, etc. Some of them don't even ship the members at all, they just use them as creative inspirations or outputs for their stories and/or artwork. I have nothing against fan-fictions, I have written a few, hell this Tumblr account was originally meant for me to be open about my works, whether it be fanfiction or my own original characters. I haven't published (or republished) any yet since their initial takedown, but I want to in the near future. I used to run a Twitter account dedicated to fun little writing prompts and silly little aus, but the account was wrongfully suspended during Twitter's Great Birthday Purge.

I wouldn't necessarily say that I truly 'ship' any of the BTS members, like, I'm not rooting behind the scenes for any particular pairing. I just like the creative aspect that a fandom space can provide.

Flirtaus created the Outcast au, which gained international attention and even had a whole Billboard article written about it. Filmfics also created the BTS x Dora au, which despite being incredibly humorous, brought together our fandom for many days. Also, I send my regards to that writer ... they passed away not too long ago, so I hope that they forever rest in peace. But both of the aus were trending for weeks at a time and many ARMYs still reference these works to this day.

Many fanfiction writers and artists alike have a space to practice their passions without being utterly toxic toward other people in the community. I adore Maithism's Moon Rabbit au, Little Luxray's Vampire au... these aus could be considered romantically contextualized stories, but the stories in which they tell are fantastical and beautiful... and also, these two artists are casual shippers who don't necessarily ship the members, they just like to use them as agents of creative expression.

Now I'm sure there's a proper term for this, but literary shippers... I like to classify them as people who don't necessarily ship the BTS members in a traditional respect, but in their respective fictional universes. Like, HYYH Yoonkook. People like their characterization in these fictional spaces and feel as if their fictional characters have good chemistry. I know a few people who are ride-or-die for HYYH Yoonkook, but they don't necessarily ship Yoonkook irl. I personally love HYYH Yoonkook (and HYYH in general), so I'm curious to see how the new drama YOUTH is going to portray our favorite HYYH characters. I'm not a big Chakho reader, but I do know that people quite enjoy Zeha (Jungkook's character) and Haru (Jimin's character) as a potential couple. Not because it's jikook (but let's be honest, some jikookers totally do), but because they think these two fictional interpretations of them have incredible chemistry.

Also, Stay Alive by Jungkook is a masterpiece.

I think even BigHit has caught onto the fandom's love for telling stories, so they gave us that cursed Episode-styled game for creating virtual fanfictions. They also gave us BTS World, which was more of a self-insert type of story that delved into the realms of fictional universes. Now I could go on for hours about how much I despise parts of BTS World... like why am I literally such a creep can my MC say anything normal?? Why is my character, who is an assumed adult, flirting with an underaged, predebut Jungkook? ... Well at least they gave us some banger soundtracks and some cute videos so it's not all that bad. I guess another reason why BW wasn't for me personally is that I cannot stand self-insert ANYTHING so it was a big N.O from the beginning. If I had the chance to shoot my shot with any BTS member I would pack my bags and flee the planet... no thank you, and goodnight!

But yes, there are definite pros and cons to shipping within a community. Toxic shippers, the ones who will fight tooth and nail to prove that their ship is real... are usually the ones you need to look out for. They are the ones threatening self-harm, who are spreading baseless conspiracies... but many casual shippers in the community tend to stick their own corners and go about their craft peacefully. Without the good ones, we wouldn't have gotten the iconic "why Hoseok da bus driver all of da sudden" tweet and half of the funniest lines regularly quoted by the fandom.

I didn't expect this to delve into a defense of creative shipping, but I really do believe that people can ship who they want as long as they're not freaks about it. People can disagree with me, and that's fine, I understand that we all have differing opinions and experiences.

I see ur resisted kpop for 5 years and raise you....I resisted for a DECADE RIP 😭 I COULDA BEEN HAVING SO MUCH FUN and i now may never get the chance to go to a bts concert 😭. (they came to a restaraunt where i LIVE and i only found out TWO WEEKS AGO.) anywho how i first heard about kpop was like this: my bestie 10 yrs ago got me into cdramas and jdramas and kdramas, and then she fell in love with boys over flowers and we'd listen to ost's together, and then she fell in with dbsk and 2pm and super junior. and I was like eh about it all bc we were drifting apart. I did really like Rain and I got briefly obsessed with shinees ring ding dong bc it showed up I'm suggested yt videos after listening to Rain's music so much lol. fast forward to 2020 and I'm on tiktok going crazy from isolation due to the pandemonium and a very pretty tiny elf looking man says "cooking like a chef I'm a 5 star michelin" with his demon voice and I was gone lol

the regret is always so intense when u look at all the iconic stuff you could have been apart of. i think i’m always saddest i missed 2015 because that was a YEAR for kpop especially with groups i’ve loved like svt debuting and the hyyh era for bts i’m like if only i had jumped ship when zayn left 1d i could have had it all 🧎‍♀️ lmao i’ll be honest I don’t know if i have ever heard a rain version of a rain song all the way through 🤔 but i’ve heard enough covers to know that being obsessed with him was definitely valid, he released so many bops lol

i also think a lot of ppl resisted the siren call of kpop until the panorama and then the boredom made ppl curious and vulnerable to new obsessions lmaooo

awww i love tattoo questions because i have a list a mile long of planned tattoos (and none actually realised rip) <3

if i thought longer about it i might be able to come up with quite a few more candidates but the most influential lyric in my life and one that i know for a fact i would never regret and would never come to associate with a bad period or bad feeling (bc there are lyrics i like more but i tend to listen to sad depressing music and that's not really the kind of stuff i'd want on my body forever yknow? just personally) comes from intro: never mind off bts's album hyyh pt.2:

부딪힐 것 같으면 더 세게 밟아 임마 tr: if you feel like you're going to crash, accelerate even harder

i don't know if i'd get the translation, i feel like i'd like it in the original korean, but yeah, maybe stylised so it's not just hangul text but it's more integrated into a larger illustration. but it's a really powerful lyric, and generally really good advice that i try my hardest to live my life by. having a tattoo reminder would be really cool.

4. if you were to get a non-lyrics music tattoo, what would it be? (or tell about one you already have!)

this is a really interesting question, i feel like i tend to think in terms of words first, so i have more ideas for lyric tattoos. i kinda like the idea of tattoos as memories tho, so i could see myself getting little symbolic tattoos for concerts i attend, nothing to big or elaborate just something i can point to and remember that night by. but i can also foresee running out of space, so maybe just tattoos for the concerts that stick out in my mind the most...

14. do you have any music related home decorations?

i'm a bit slow, it took me a while to figure out that this meant like, band posters, and not like vases shaped like music notes or smth like that (tho ig that would count as well). in my room currently i haven't put up any of my posters or merch, but i typically have at least a few bts posters up or like things (posters, stickers, tickets, flyers) i've gotten from concerts, or festivals. insofar as one considers a bookshelf as a home decoration, my albums tend to have places of honour there lol

also insofar as they are decorative bc i do not use them enough, i keep my banjo and viola in places where i can see them so that whenever the mood strikes i can just pick them up and play them and i don't have to go searching for them in the closet of shame

This cb is worse than Be. What on earth did they do for 15-16 months?

The no1 in hot100 seems to get into their head. However,I don't think YTC can top the chart. The streaming in yt ,the buzz around the song is too low and their is the matter of the changed rules. Amis theory about HYYH being back is also not true. Ytc just had the props and some scenes recreation of that era, not continuation. They said they are gonna get personal in the songs but ytc & RunB seems like a rip off of 🎤 drop,wab eternal,yf.
