The tale of Genji Monogatari and the cherry blossom leitmotif
Tied to the Buddhist themes of mortality, mindfulness and living in the present, Japanese cherry blossoms are a timeless metaphor for human existence. Blooming season is powerful, glorious and intoxicating, but tragically short-lived - a visual reminder that our lives, too, are fleeting.
In Japanese culture, sakura as the embodiment of beauty and mortality can be traced back centuries. A fallen cherry blossom or petal, it’s believed, symbolized the end of their short lives. We also see Genji losing several of the women he’s interested in. Most of them die around early April, when the cherry trees are in bloom. He seems to see the cherry blossom as some sort of a demon. He does suffer a lot seeing all those women leaving him one way or another.

The Rusalki (in order of appearance: Elsenova, Ophelia, Katrahaska, Veruska) are huge, sentient war machines created long ago to guard Sudra and the Breach. Each Rusalka has a unique personality and appearance. Generally though, the Rusalki are blue-grey in color, have a machine-like body, and a humanoid face. Ophelia tells Trace that Rusalki is Elsenova's word for these beings, implying that there are other words used to describe them.
In Slavic folklore, the rusalka (plural: rusalki) is a female entity, often malicious toward mankind and frequently associated with water.

The Tiste Andii were a non-human Elder Race. They were the Children of Darkness. The first of Mother Dark's children, they were her dearest, the dwellers of the land before light. They were sometimes referred to as the Souls of Starless Night. The Tiste Andii were immortal, and their actions could be difficult for mortals to comprehend. The leader and Archmage of the Tiste Andii was Anomander Rake, who ruled by strength of personality.
Before the coming of light, the Tiste Andii lived alone in Kurald Galain. The city of Kharkanas was their first city. The Tiste Andii worshipped Mother Dark. After Mother Dark turned away, the Tiste Andii fell into turmoil, leaving Kharkanas and wandering from place to place, following Anomander Rake as their Lord.

Witches are an active class that manipulate their aspect or manipulate with their aspect for themselves. Their unpredictability combined with their great power can make them dangerous if they lack good morals. A good Witch is willing to do anything for her friends, while an evil Witch would stop at nothing to sabotage them. Sburb’s challenge for them is to use their powers in a moral and wise way.
Space is associated with the universe, art, creation, and life. Space players are patient, but that’s not to say they don’t lack a temper. They choose their battles, never rushing in without knowing what to do.
A Witch of Space could either shrink or grow objects, as well as changing their speed. They may also be able to teleport, but this is debatable, as the canon Witch of Space, Jade, may have gotten that power from Bec.
Witches of Space may struggle with authority or listening to leaders. This may make them difficult to work with if they refuse to comply with the leader of their session. As they, develop, they learn to coexist with leaders, perhaps accepting a position of power themselves.
A Witch of Space inverts to a Sylph of Time.

Why is the crest of the Alliance a lion? It’s the symbol of Anduin Lothar, the man who almost singlehandedly cobbled the Alliance together to fight the Old Horde and then served as their supreme commander. Lions are a traditional medieval European symbol of royalty. In the middle ages, the Lion was considered an aspect of God’s favor… so it features prominently in royal and noble heraldry.

The Machine God, also known as the Omnissiah or Deus Mechanicus, is the supernatural entity worshipped by the tech-priests and other servants of the Adeptus Mechanicus as the embodiment and bestower of all knowledge and technology in the universe.
For many in the Imperium of Man, this belief conflicts with the orthodox theology of the Imperial Cult where the only god of Humanity is the Emperor of Mankind.
But since the Adeptus Mechanicus is vital to the survival of the Imperium, conflict over this issue is often avoided by the Mechanicus' willing conflation in its theology of the Machine God's avatar in the physical world, the Omnissiah, with the Emperor Himself.
This compromise truly satisfies neither believers in the Cult Mechanicus or the Imperial Cult, but it keeps the peace between the two faiths and the wider Imperium functioning.

Asphodel, once known as the Asphodel Meadows, is a desolate collection of rocky islands amidst a sea of fire beyond Tartarus. Travel between these islands is done via small bone rafts. Asphodel is the second biome Zagreus encounters during his escape attempts, and is always 10 chambers long; beginning at Room 16 with an overlook of the region and ending at the 25th Chamber in the Stairway Chamber.
Supposedly, the Asphodel Meadows once lived up to their name. They were verdant plains dotted with their namesake flowers in which the unremarkable dead - those who had earned neither punishment in Tartarus nor glory in Elysium - roamed for eternity. At some point before the game's story, the fiery river Phlegethon overflowed, flooding the legendary meadows and reducing them to the magma-filled, barren hellscape seen in-game.

Rell was one of a number of children aboard the Zariman Ten Zero during the ill-fated voyage that created the Tenno. Unlike the other children, Rell found it difficult to identify emotions and would be overwhelmed by too much sensation.
After the Orokin recovered the derelict Zariman and retrieved the Tenno children, Rell was yet again "cast out" from the rest of the Tenno, possibly due to the Orokin deeming Rell unfit for the combat duties they forced upon the other Tenno.
Denied access to Margulis' cryosleep and the Dream that preserved the other Tenno, Rell eventually and willingly sacrificed himself in a ritual the Veil believed would seal The Indifference out of the mortal plane. Rell's spirit was bound to his Warframe, Harrow, which was then chained in the Red Veil's sacred temple in an Orokin Derelict.

The Parazon is a bladed tool used by Warframes for a variety of functions. It is primarily used for hacking enemy electronics but is also strong enough to be wielded as an assassination weapon. The weapon is normally hidden when not in use and can be materialized on the Warframe's right wrist when needed. It also comes with a tether that allows the Warframe to throw the Parazon out and then retrieve it afterward.
Aside from hacking, the Parazon can also be used to perform a lethal Finisher called mercy, which has more elaborate kill animations compared to normal finishers. Mercy kills can be performed on any enemy with a red Parazon symbol above them accompanied by a unique sound cue, which has a chance to occur when the enemy drops below 5% of its total health.

Sânziană is the Romanian name for gentle fairies who play an important part in local folklore, also used to designate the Galium verum or Cruciata laevipes flowers. Under the plural form Sânziene, the word designates an annual festival in the fairies' honor. Etymologically, the name comes from the Latin Sancta Diana, the Roman goddess of the hunt and moon, also celebrated in Roman Dacia (ancient Romania). Diana was known to be the virgin goddess and looked after virgins and women. She was one of the three maiden goddesses, Diana, Minerva and Vesta, who swore never to marry.
People in the western Carpathian Mountains celebrate the Sânziene holiday annually, on June 24. This is similar to the Swedish Midsummer holiday, and is believed to be a pagan celebration of the summer solstice in June.
The consequences of heavens opening on Sânziene are connected by some to paranormal events reported during that period of each year. According to popular beliefs, strange things, both positive and negative, may happen to a person wandering alone on Sânziene night.

Nora Night is a mysterious character who acts as the voice of the pirate radio station Nightwave. Her broadcasts can be heard at random on the Orbiter's Radio Scanner. She comments on certain events happening in the Origin System and urges her listeners to hold the powerful accountable for their actions.
Nightwave focuses on one particular story at a time, termed a “Series”, beginning with The Wolf of Saturn Six as Series 1. While a Series is running, Nora presents a list of Acts, or challenges, for the Tenno to complete. Completing Acts will reward Nightwave Standing. Nora will give rewards upon reaching certain tiers of Standing (every 10.000 Standing), including a special currency which can be used to purchase rotating offerings. The Standing and currency are particular to each Series and expire when the Series ends.

SCP-087-1 is a creature of unknown origin living on SCP-087 - an unending staircase. All those who enter SCP-087 can hear a crying child roughly 200 metres down, which seems to descend at the same speed as the person descending. The crying child is possibly SCP-087-1 trying to lure them in, although this is yet to be confirmed. It stalks people down SCP-087, usually appearing in front of the person.
SCP-087-1 has ambushed the D-class personnel. The third, who it ambushed from behind, ending up passing out lower down. The peculiar thing is that the creature did not stare at the personnel as it did with the previous two, but instead looked directly at the camera, as if it were looking at those viewing the video feed directly, instead of the intruder. The person from the third report is presumed dead, as she never made it back before the audio and video feeds cut out and they were never re-established.

Gwyn, Lord of Cinder was greatest of the gods and a mighty warrior. He was known as the Lord of Sunlight and headed the efforts to end the Age of Ancients, together with Gravelord Nito, the Witch of Izalith, and the dragon-traitor, Seath the Scaleless.
Around a thousand years prior to the start of the game, Gwyn sacrificed himself to link the First Flame. His reasons for doing so are disputed, but what is certain is that his principal motivation was to postpone the end of the Age of Fire.

The Demogorgon, also known as the Monster, was one of the main antagonists of the first season of Stranger Things.
It was a predatory humanoid creature that entered Hawkins, Indiana in November 1983. The creature originated from the parallel dimension known as the Upside Down. When Eleven, a psychic test subject from Hawkins National Laboratory, made interdimensional contact with it, a gate between dimensions opened at the lab.
In the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy role-playing game, Demogorgon is a powerful demon prince. He is known as the Prince of Demons, a self-proclaimed title, but one that is acknowledged by mortals and even his fellow demons because of his power and influence.

Freya (or Freyja) was a fertility goddess and was associated with domesticity, womanhood, and female sexuality. She was also associated with sorcery and magic, as well as war and death.
Freya’s chariot was pulled not by horses but by two male cats. Both cats were described as being blue or grey and had been a gift from Thor. Why cats? Well, cats have been associated with femininity and fertility since ancient Egypt, so it isn’t surprising that cats would be associated with Freya in Norse mythology. But if Freya was the goddess of the feminine, why were her cats male? It may be that the association of Freya and these male cats represented a combination of female and male sexuality.
