RWBY headcanons (part 1) - Ruby and Penny

I wanted to draw some of my headcanons for RWBY characters faces/bodies, like I did with Gris and Fauve ! And of course I had to start with these two :]

(for those who can't really read from the image, I'll write every detail here for each of them)

Penny :

- curly/wavy hair

- round and thick eyebrows

- long and round nose (larger than Ruby's)

- freckles (a lot)

- round lips

- tiny round earlobes

- loves earrings

Lot of round or curly shapes for her you got it ♥

Ruby :

- spiky hair

- large forehead

- sharp and thin eyebrows

- small, thin and pointy nose

- also sharper lips than Penny

- pointy ears, almost no earlobes

- piercings

Last Survivor Au

Well, I came here to comment on more headcanons about the ''sole survivor'' au and that I can help @howlingday with the plot or ideas, I hope you like it guys. I'm going to start with history and events for characters and to finish psychologically, so look at the sky and welcome to this infinite tsukuyomi

History and Events:

Well for the death of the rwby and (j)npr teams and I believe that cardin's team died, that would count as 11 deaths in something that was just to present the school and test the qualities of the students. With this death count, Beacon and Ozpin would gain a bad reputation from other kingdoms and give themselves to the people of Vale, thereby potentially accelerating certain events that take place in volumes 1 to 3.

With Blake's death in this universe, many events that happen with White Fang that are explored in this volume and in the 4th would be faster, but in a bad sense, with Blake's death, Adam could use her as an example to gain more trust between the faunus.

Ironwood looking at this death count could end up giving Ozpin a slight scolding but it would help him with more protection in the kingdom and speeding up the introduction of penny. Coming back in the white fang trope because of this the introduction of sun would also be faster than in canon.

Characters:

Jaune would probably take practical classes or be forced to spend some time because of his psychology. Maybe he would gain a slight fame among the other students but nothing exaggerated, It's maybe because of the events I mentioned ozpin could try to form a team between Jaune Sun and Penny, Probably at first Jaune might think it's a bad idea but I'll do that leave it with @howlingday .

Characters that appear in future volumes like Oscar I can only see them in the future, because following the canon Oscar wouldn't have a reason to enter Beancon other than Ozpin, but maybe we can change that in this universe like Ozpin launching more opportunities for kingdoms for people who want to be hunters to join beacon.

I commented about Jaune gaining fame, He would have a fan of being the only survivor but it would be something like a curse, Everywhere he goes people recognize him as the only survivor, Newspapers try to interview him to discuss more about the case of the 11 deaths but he always refuses

Psychologically:

We know that Jaune is one of the characters with a bad psychology but there are two characters who butt heads, Winter and Tai. Winter being the older sister who believed that her younger sister was strong for the world to respond with the news of her death, Tai is a former hunter who lost his wife and was abandoned by another, having to take care of his daughters alone with his teammate, He trusted that the two were strong and then heard the tragic news of their death,

Ozpin gained another weight on his back because in his vision because of his trust and irresponsibility he caused the death of potential hunters and one of the people who contained a power that could help in his greatest objective, And perhaps he killed one of the last people who had silver eyes.

Jaune after the incident would get a call from his family and they would talk and probably in free time Jaune would travel to visit them to help with his psychological issue, And I believe that Penny and Sun could be a company that would help Jaune to improve.

Team RWBY as Moms

Ruby Rose

Ruby is so sweet as a mom, she absolutely adores her family. No matter how many kids you have or their gender, she is gonna accept them with open arms

Being one of the top Huntresses means she is often out of the house in the mornings. But she always makes sure to come back right on time and call her familly if otherwise

Loves showing off Cresent Rose to the kids, and when they get old enough she lets them hold and try it out. If they want to be hunters/huntresses she is the first person to help them figure out a weapon

Does races with her kids, but always cheats and uses her semblance

Is decent at cooking, but really specializes in baking. Her cookies are to DIE for, your kids always try to sneak them at night (secretly you do too, don't tell Ruby)

Auntie Yang and her partner are always coming over, it's great! Everyone gets to catch up and the kids get to play, it's always a great time

Ruby always talks about how awesome Grandpa Qrow is, so clearly your kids look up to him. You often have to debunk a lot of the outlandish statements but it's cute nonetheless. Whenever he comes by it's always a big deal

Grandpa Tai tries so hard to be cool, it's often a joke in your household. He once tried to teach the kids to skateboard and fell flat on his face, giving himself a nosebleed

It's so sweet though! The kids always look forward to seeing him for a good laugh (plus he gives great hugs)

Ruby loves to barrage you guys with kisses

Weiss Schnee

Weiss never had a good childhood, fault being on both her parents. When she and her partner decided to have children, she swore to never make the same mistakes her parents did. She refuses to continue the cycle of abuse

Winter is always welcome to your house and always makes it to family events. She's still a bit cold but actually smiles when around you guys. Willow stays away a bit since she's still dealing with stuff, but makes an effort to occasionally visit. Jacques banned from even seeing any of you, and if he ever tries Weiss will threaten him with a restraining order

She always makes sure to go to all her kids events, no matter how disinterested she may be in the type of event. The excited look on their faces make it all worth it. Oh, and she's totally the mom to wave at her kids while they perform on stage

Can sometimes be strict when it comes to rules she has instated. No staying up too late, no staying out past curfew, stuff like that. She wants her kids safe!

Anytime she snaps at her kids or partner in frustration she immedietely stops and apologizes

Her dad is quite adamant about your kids having the Schnee Glyth semblance, but Weiss isn't worried about it. No matter what they have she isn't gonna love them any less

Has the BEST Birthday parties on the block, every kid wants to come! Tables lined with delicious food, tons of bounce houses, fun games, all the digs! Weiss also loves to use her summons to entertain the kids (They especially love the giant knight)

When the kids are at sleepovers and leave you two alone, you guys like to have mini date nights where you sip wine and talk. Weiss loves hearing about your day

Once the kids are put to bed she basically collapses on the couch with you and just lays there for a while in your arms

Blake Belladonna

Probably the most motherly of all of them. She had a great relationship with her parents and keeps a lot of her family traditions

Grandpa Ghira and Grandma Kali are very present. Ever since their grandkids were babies they were always very involved. Kali was most obvious about it, and likes to spoil her grandkids whenever possible. Ghira tries to be more aloof and calm about it, but you and Blake once caught him conked out on the couch with your sleeping kids in his arms

Very gentle with her kids and soft spoken. But when she gets angry you can hear the sharpness in her voice (that instantly shuts her family up)

If your kids runs away from you guys in public, Blake uses her weapon to yoink them and reel them back in

Uses her clones when they play games, she always wins at tag

Ever since they were babies, Blake likes to read books to her kids at bedtime. She reads a mixture of children's books and classic literature. It doesn't really matter what she reads, the soft sound of voice is the perfect lullaby

Teaches her children about Faunus issues and history very early on in life. It's important for them to know their history and culture

Always is ready with her phone to take photos and videos. She wants to capture all key moments your family experiences! Once a year she likes to have the family sit down and go through the collection

Sun likes to come by randomly and surprise you guys. Sometimes you'll be watching TV and hear a knock at your window. Blake reprimands him lightly, but it always ends up being a good time

Yang Xiao Long

Yang is the Cool Mom™️

She lets her kids dye their hair, get piercings, and tattoos. Of course the tattoos only when they get to an appropriate age, but it's not discouraged

Whenever the kids want piggyback rides she is happy to provide. If you have more than one kid she tries to carry them all at once

All the kids in the area adore her and loves to call her Auntie Yang

Definitely adores rough housing and play wrestling. She loves to teach simple moves and have contests (whenever she lets them win she gets really dramatic)

If they want to become hunters/huntresses, Yang is HAPPY to spar and train them! And if you want to join it makes a great family bonding activity

Does her kids' hair every day. Even if it's just a quick brush she loves to make sure they look their best

You own a grill that she loves to use. She likes to barbecue on weekends! Most of the time is fine it's just uh... she likes thing on the burnt side. Often you'll have to specifically tell her to not overcook everyone's meal

Loves to flirt and kiss you in front of the kids. Their cries of anguish and cringe is like music to her ears

Auntie Ruby and her partner are frequent guests in your house, they visit all the time. Whether it's to go to dinner or mini golf or just chill inside. It's also great for you all to catch up and the kids to hang out

Yang is the Cool Mom, Ruby is the Cool Aunt, and Qrow is the Cool Grandpa! Everytime Qrow comes to visit your kids practically tackle him. He always tells the best stories and sneaks your kids snacks and money

Tai tries to be the Cool Grandpa but kinda fails. He's sprained his ankle many a times trying to impress. Although they laugh, your kids absolutely adore when he comes around

There is no mention of Raven in the house. Yang refuses to bring that drama into her family life, she hasn't even approached her in general. But Yang doesn't care, she has everything she needs

ABSO-FUCKING-LUTELY

yang takes up a Lot of room when she sleeps. just absolute starfish, sleeping on her stomach, limbs completely spread out. blake is the exact opposite. she curls up, makes herself absolutely tiny. they fit Perfectly

their height difference is Perfect for yang to put her chin right between blake’s ears, so she takes the opportunity to peek at whatever book blake is reading at the time

later when they’re living their domestic lives and whatnot, yang INSISTS on staying chivalrous. she opens the door for blake, stands when blake gets out of her seat, holds her elbow out for her to grab when they’re walking together

blake is a master at shampooing yang’s hair

yang kicks ass when it comes to racing or fighter video games, but blake is great at first-person shooters and open world games

they get each other lilies during their dates and later plant them in their own garden in remembrance of their first kiss :)

blake KNOWS she and yang aren’t subtle with their flirting after v6, but yang thinks she’s being super discrete and very much not obvious. she is very wrong

ghira, kali, and yang get along SWIMMINGLY, whereas tai is a little wary of blake at first (stemming from his own abandonment issues with raven). he comes along in the end, but it takes a bit of time

yang and blake get married young, basically right after the war is won and most of the grimm have been taken care of. they don’t see a reason to wait anymore, and it works out for them. they even leave an empty chair for summer (assuming she’s still gone at the end of the series) right between tai and qrow. raven watches the ceremony from afar in her bird form, but doesn’t approach them

zwei is the ring bearer at their wedding!!!

A few months ago, I made a post realizing that, technically, the characters of RWBY are all aliens since the events are set on a different planet, Remnant.

I had this weird idea proposing this question: What if they looked a little more alien?

Here's my ideas for team RWBY:

Ruby: She has red skin. Think Karlach from Baldurs Gate 3 but maybe a bit lighter

Weiss: She has glass like skin. I'm imagining the movie version of Emma Frost.

Strong yet classy, just like our favorite ice princess. She would have clothes OBVIOUSLY but idk if they would be normal material or glass like. She can control this form at will, meaning she can change from the glass like skin to normal skin at will, again like the movie version of Emma Frost

Blake: For Blake, I have a few ideas. She has small fangs, a darker upper lip, possible retractable claws, only cat ears and toe beans. I'm imagining her face looking similar to this but without the whiskers:

I'm also imagining the black parts scattered over her body if that makes sense.

Yang: Normally, Yang has scale like tattoos on her upper arms. But, when she gets angry/uses her semblance, those tattoos become real scales, her eyes become more reptilian, and little horns grow out of her hair, leaning into the dragon namesake.

OK SO OSCAR HERE oh man I have a lot

-He would definitely cook WHATEVER she asks for. If he doesn't know how to cook it, he'll learn. And from time to time he'll introduce her to new dishes based of what he knows she likes

-So I feel like Ruby is a very touchy person, in comparison to oscar to appears to be touch averse. I do think that Ruby would be his exception and he would voluntary hug her and trace her back or her arms bc it soothes her. I feel like if they end up living together in a future, they would play this game in which one traces drawings into the back of the other and the other has to guess the drawing

-He would tell her lots of cute things, like how cute her laugh is, or how soft her hair is, or that he could spend all day listening to her and he wouldn't get bored

-He would treat all her wounds (and kiss them)

-And he would LOVE to talk with her (like, long conversations until 2am)

-also he would read her fairytales or make one up (and it usually it's a reference to something she knows and ahe has to guess what he's talking about)

RWBY Theory!

So, we all know the AMAZING song Red Like Roses (Part 2), right? And I've heard ALL the theories - I think. And yes, I understand where everyone's coming from by saying that the song implies that Summer never wanted Ruby to be a Huntress.

BUT

RADICAL NEW TAKE: Summer didn't care whether Ruby became a Huntress or not! Those lines, "But baby please don't do what I did/I don't want you to waste your life in vain" ...what if they're not referring to being a Huntress at all?

Hear me out!

My theory is that Summer is actually referring to what we see her doing in volume 9 of RWBY: going after Salem alone. And I think that's what Summer is trying to warn Ruby about. Because it has been repeated many times that Ruby is just like her mother - but that isn't necessarily a good thing, with what we've been seeing of how Ruby tries to take responsibility for everything, even things that are WAY out of her control.

And yes, I know that Summer had Raven with her. But I think it's pretty clear that Summer did not trust her teammate at that point, or even like her. So essentially, with no one apart from Raven knowing where she was going, Summer went to fight Salem alone.

And I honestly think that that is what she is trying to warn Ruby about. I think that the whole song Red Like Roses (Part 2) is about Summer trying to tell Ruby that she has to allow other people to help her, because if she tries to do everything alone then she is going to fail.

Just like Maria failed when she went to face the Nevermore ALONE, and tried to take on a whole group of people ALONE.

Just like Summer failed when she went to fight Salem ALONE.

So really, Summer is trying to tell Ruby that she has to rely on her teammates to have her back.

Anyway, that's just my theory, and I don't know if anyone else has thought of this, but I think it'd be pretty interesting to consider it like this, especially after Ruby's thing with the tree and all of her trauma in volume 9, where she refused to ask for help.

Tyrian Callows - Lebanese, I mean his name comes from the Lebanese city of Tyre and that makes sense.

Coco Adel - Belgian, I mean she just gives me Belgian energy idk why

The Belladonnas - Its of course canon that they are Indigenous, Ghira is on Chief & Council, need I say more? Anyways I have a feeling they would be from the Pacific Northwest, more specifically they would be Gitxsan.

Hazel Rainart - German + Assyrian, he kinda reminds me of the Sumerian folk hero Gilgamesh who stems from what is now Modern day Iraq.

Emerald Sustrai - Basque + Sudanese & Arab, her surname is basque, her allusion is Ali Baba/Aladdin and she seems to be of african descent as well so honestly she could be Basque, Sudanese and Arab.

Elm Ederne - Afro-Dominican + Mongolian, need I say more.

Vine Zeki - Tibetan + Japanese, Need I say more.

Harriet Bree, Afro-Jamaican + Cambodian, its my headcanon.

Marrow Amin - Paternally Ethiopian & Ugandan, Maternally Indigenous Australian & Greenlandic, his surname "Amin" is of Arabic origin but is prevalent in Uganda as a couple of my Ugandan friends from 9th grade had that exact surname, also his weapon being a boomerang could point to him being Indigenous Australian {Also the Faunus being very clearly Indigenous} & Greenlandic.

Clover Ebi - Turkish, that man is Turkish, okay? HES TURKISH TO ME.

Qrow & Raven Branwen - Welsh & Breton, need I say more.

Sage Ayana - Yoruba, one of my Nigerian friends presented me with this headcanon and now I hold onto it dearly.

fox alistair headcanon

Fox takes naps often throughout the day. He can sleep anywhere, anytime, even with people doing things loudly around him.

The reason is his semblance - since it can drain his aura pretty quickly when using it on multiple people, and he keeps CFVY connected most of the time, especially on missions. The fastest way to recharge your aura is by sleeping, so to keep himself ready for a grimm attack at all times, he takes catnaps any chance he can. His teammates always keep an eye on him, and around Beacon, many of the other students find it amusing to see him passed out in the dining hall, the library, sometimes even during Professor Port's lectures

Yang would be the kind of mother that stays the first few nights sleepless watching over the baby cradle to make sure that nothing bad ever, EVER happen to them and they know she always be there and never leave them. Some of her abandonment issues might come into play there. She ends up crying about it with Blake later.

I've always had a headcanon that Raven had postpartum depression after Yang which she handled in the worst way possible (i.e. just straight up running for it and then rationalizing after the fact), so the fact that Yang could also be susceptible to it just makes sense to me. Also, most people have "baby blues" even without giving birth. So Yang probably would have severe depression and anxiety that she'll fail her children and take any small thing she does as proof that she's not doing enough. Possibly Blake too. But having the rest of Team RWBY and their parents around to support her will help.

Dating Headcanons

Characters featured: Neopolitan and Pyrrha Nikos from RWBY

꒰ Neopolitan ꒱

Since she’s mute, Neo will either write what she wants to say on a small notebook or will use sign language. It comes down to whether or not you’re willing to learn sign language. Though if you were close friends beforehand, chances are you’d already know a good amount of sign language!

Expect there to be a lot more teasing now that you’re dating. When I say teasing, I mean the stray hand wrapping around your waist, the lingering kisses on your cheek, etc. Whenever she does that, she’d glance to your eyes and feign an innocent expression. She could also smugly keep eye contact with you as she continues with her wandering feather-light touches.

Ice cream. Neo tends to get some ice cream at least once every week. If not, then once every two weeks. With that out of the way, she often takes you along to enjoy the cold treat with you. These outings are what she likes to call, or rather sign, a date. It’s a sweet gesture but one can only assume how she doesn’t get tired of having it every week…

She doesn’t really have any pet names for you. However, she does like to refer to you as her partner in crime (often accompanied by a wink your way)! She doesn’t mind what kind of pet name you give to her but ‘cupcake’ seems to have stuck with her. Just don’t call her ‘shortcake’ though, she gets offended by it.

It’s so obvious that you’re dating to the point where no one has to ask. They just know. After all, actions speak louder than words right? If someone oblivious does ask though, Roman gives them the look that says ‘Yes, why did you even bother asking?’

Speaking about Roman, he’s sort of a… protective father figure to Neo. If you haven’t met him beforehand, aka you’re an entirely new person Neo has never told him about, he’ll be skeptical of you. It’ll take some time to gain his trust but as long as you treat Neo nicely, he’ll start liking you too (platonically of course). If you’ve known Neo for a long time before dating, he’s most likely already given you the thumbs up. Hell, he was probably your wingman too!

She doesn’t bring you on her dust heists due to the dangers of having you associated with her. She’ll leave a note about it if she never gets the chance to tell you sometime before it. When she comes back, she’ll usually want to have a cuddle session with you where she practically melts against you. It’s adorable to see her all tired and cuddled up against you!

꒰ Pyrrha Nikos ꒱

Although confident in her fighting skills, Pyrrha is a bit shy when it comes to dating as she’s never dated anyone before. She’s very formal at the start of the relationship but after you give her some reassurance, she’ll eventually be casual with you. She doesn’t want to let you down after all!

She enjoys taking a stroll with you occasionally, whether that be in the city, the school grounds or somewhere else. These walks aren’t extravagant so she finds them to be the perfect date with you. You’d sometimes have a picnic if the weather’s nice too!

Combat training! Pyrrha would offer to spar or train you if you’re not confident in your fighting skills! She won’t force you but if you’re down, she’ll give you lots of pointers on how to improve. She may start off easy on you but don’t expect that to last long when you gain more experience.

She’s pretty casual with using pet names. It isn’t embarrassing for her to call you something like ‘Sweetie’ out in public, so you better get used to it quickly! It’s the same vice versa—she wouldn’t mind any nickname you give her since she finds the gesture very touching.

Word spreads fast about you two dating. Lots of people make it a big deal since you’re dating the Pyrrha, but she stands up to them and tells them to stop as politely as she can. If they’re still being annoying, your friends in Team JNPR and Team RWBY will help out. (Both of you are glad to have such good friends :>)

Like to imagine that during Beacon Days, Weiss was able to sing for fun and not as an obligation or for a concert. It starter off as humming (usually alone while cleaning the dorm or practicing her form) until she would sing privately in the courtyard when no one is around.
