And? That's the point. You think I don't look at their non-canon status and don't see a goldmine for angst potential thanks to this? You think I'm weeping, but I'm rubbing my hands like a greedy little man, thinking up scenarios to make others cry.

"They don't get together." Maybe that's the point, Jerry. The tragedy of the "what if" - not knowing what road their love story could have taken, but knowing the chance of it blooming in the first place is forever lost. Or maybe it isn't and it takes many years to see the chance once again and this time not losing it. Or maybe losing again-

Creating a story where they do get together is understandable and isn't this awful thing that should be forbiden, but sometimes embracing the non-canon status isn't that bad. Sometimes I want to create a story where instead of getting together, I explore the love and how it affects the characters.

Unrequited love, one sided love, falling in love after it's too late, denial of feelings etc. You name it and I want to explore it.

Canon ships can't provide me that. Them being non-canon isn't well...canon. It can exist in one fanfic but they're still canon.

Not all love stories between characters, who were or weren't canonically in love, not ending up are automatically bad. Non canon ships can also tell a story. And I'm not just talking about well known, popular non-canon ships btw. This includes lesser know ships and crackships as well.

Sometimes I like a ship and them not being canon is the point.

I don't see how Nuts and Dolts is a crack ship, it's literally one of the biggest ship with Ruby with Whiterose, + it's not that weird considering how they interact and are strongly connected x) If we had 1/3 of what Ruby & Penny had but for Whiterose, you can be sure that everyone would be losing their minds right now, so why would it be weird or not a potential romantic path for NND-

But anyway, it depends of what you consider crackship, to me it would be characters who never interacted or not that much/not canon or obviously not meant to be together ! So with that said I don't really see it as a crackship, but Freezerburn (Yang & Weiss) is really cute, I love their divorce energy xD I also love Ilia & Emerald for some reason, I feel like these two would get along pretty well !

As for a real crack ship I'd say Moose on Twitter converted me to Snowleopard (Kali, Ghira & Willow---) krkr

I'm not that much into ships of more than 2 persons (even if think Frozensteel is cute too (Ruby, Penny & Weiss). But man Snowleopard is so funny and also really cute and spicy thanks to Moose's drawings, idk I would love to draw them xD Their dynamic is great

What are some of your favorite Dadpin/Birb Dad/Cloqwork Family fics you've read?

Hello! So confession time. I actually don't read that many fics 😅 most of the fics I read it's because I'm already friends with the author.

I know that @theangelofangst has an amazing collection of Dadpin fics on AO3. One of my favorites is Know They Parent which is set in @bowl-of-shortness's Necromancer AU.

Speaking of which, the @rwby-necromancer-au also has a lot of Dadpin content. I think Morgan has a masterlist of fics on the blog if you want to browse :D

I also know that @spare-stories-archive has a lot of awesome Dadpin fics in their Fluffy Moments series on AO3.

Unfortunately, I can't think of any Birb Dad/Cloqwork family fics off the top of my head 😔 (except for a couple that I wrote myself, but that feels self serving so I won't add them here)

Here’s another one of my crazy crack ships

Roman Torchwick and Summer Rose.

I know Summer and Roman have never interacted in the series, but the idea of summer and Roman having a secret Romeo and Juliet romance or Gwen and Kevin from Ben 10 alien force is. Like the two meet each other when summer is back at Beacon Academy as a student, and Roman is just starting with finding his way through the criminal underworld.

I just love it when the hero falls in love with a villain, and the villain falls in love with the hero. That stuff just gets me.

I can just imagine it now summer trying to convince Roman to do Good And Roman is reluctant to do so at first, but slowly over time, just slightly, it starts to sway to the side of Good just lightly, though.

And the entire time, Qrow goes into overprotective brother mode and wants to strangle Roman , but he doesn’t because that would make summer sad.

Neo was initially jealous, but after seeing how the summer made Roman so happy, she backed off.

I even got the perfect ship name for it, summerwick.
