Dominaria Cup: Ikoria Region

Round 1:

3. Trollhunter vs 14. RW Meditation. Trollhunter was purpose made to take out 1 deck. RW Meditation is a flexible control deck based around enchantments. Hunter had no defense against the enchantments and lost.

6. Fogplotter vs 11. Rakdos Haakon Knights. The odd graveyard tribal deck was able to eek out wins against the land denial deck. Fogplotter tempoed Haakon away in one game, but the resilient Knights took the match.

Round 2:

Haakon could not stand up the onslaught of removal from Meditation. Again, Meditation’s enchantments got around everything Haakon wanted to fight.

RW Meditation is the final deck to move on to the Sweet 16.

Tapped Card League - Twilight's Altar vs Rakdos Haakon Knights

This match came down to Door if Destinies. Games 1, Twilight destroyed it and flew to victory. Game 2, it accumulated 12 counters, making Knights unstoppable. Game 3, a turn 4 door was answered, but Haakon's value engine kept the pressure on until a late Door finished the game.

Tapped Card League - Mono-Black Devotion vs Rakdos Haakon Knight

With the Door of Destinies out, Knights ran over Devotion. Devotion played 3 Glen Elendra Lieges in a row. Knights killed 2, but lost to the third powering Nightveil Specter. Devotion had no answer for Stillmoon Cavalier's protection from black.

Game 1, Dimir countered and exiled enough creatures for Blight Herder to finish off the knights. Knights could not push through enough damage with 2 Doors before Ulamog exiled them.

The only undefeated deck is Heritage Druid Elves at 10-0. 2 decks didn’t register a win, Mutated Nephilims, Orzhov Extort.
