Emergency Ranger Contact Information

It's come to my attention that a lot of trainers aren't aware of the many helpful resources avaliable to trainers just starting out or veteran alike.

Ranger Radio

There is a public access radio station for all to hear regarding any public updates from your local Ranger Base.

This would include things like: Road Closures, Natural Disaster and evacuation updates, Wild Pokemon Outbreaks (usually of any aggressive species) and many other things.

The same information is on their website with access to the live broadcast as well.

This is perfect if you're traveling and don't have a good internet connection on your Rotom Phone or other digital devices, the radio's frequency is incredibly reliable outside of caves or underground situations.

Ranger Stations and Camp Sites

This is a much more well known tip but there are still unknown things about it as well.

There are small camping and rest stops on major trails that are safe places for trainers to rest, cook, sleep and even wait out serious weather.

Most of the areas are built to be used as outdoor campgrounds with a couple of covered bench areas for resting and sturdy bathroom areas, but what a lot of trainers are unaware of is that if trainers or a group of trainers are out while a big storm or severe weather is coming, the bathrooms and covered bench areas can be used as emergency shelters.

The bathrooms are well built, and have an emergency button that can be pressed and will activate a very visible blinking light and alert the communications at your local Ranger Base.

The Benched areas are a bit different as they don't have any walls at first, until you find the emergency lever which will lower the rolled up mental walla and activate the emergency lights.

It's a perfect place to stay safe until the storm passes or a ranger is able to assist.

Pokedex Hotline

This is one of the most unknown tips that is right in the open for all trainers.

Did you know that all PokeDex devices have ways to get you right in contact with a Pokemon Ranger in an emergency?

While most Rotom phones can contact emergency services automatically through the internet or phone services, there are rare instances where you can't do either, and that's where this tip comes in:

If you turn the Rotom phone over and tap the circle (face) over 7 times rapidly, it will send out an emergency broadcast rapidly until it is received by a scanning device.

Not only does the Rotom Phone do this, but all PokeDex devices made after the first generation of Dexs had similar features built in.

The first generation of devices didn't have any long range communication built in, but they did have a type of alarm that could be activated in emergencies instead.

These are just a few of the not well known emergency tools at your disposal on our journey.

So @suki90​ drew an absolutely LOVELY Pokeshipping piece that you can find here, and it got me wanting to do a really small snippet of what I kind of imagined when I saw this pic, so here we are.

She was looking at him again, he could feel it.

Ash’s chin rested in his palm, trying his best to appear calm, collected, patient. He’d watched dozens of people enter this ice cream shop from his seat, overheard at least seven discussions about what flavors people were interested in, and avoided the singular ice cream scoop that had fallen from a little boy’s cone. He rapped his finger against the table, his eyes glazed over as they stared at the clock before quickly flicking to the girl behind the counter.

She was looking at him again.

Please don’t ask again who I’m waiting for, he fervently telepathed to her as he turned to the doorway. "My date’s just a little late.” That was the excuse he’d given, and technically he wasn’t lying. Sort of, in that she wasn’t just a little late. Even Misty, as punctual as she’d grown up to be, had her bouts of tardiness, but she always showed up. Any minute now she’d come practically skipping through the entrance, offering an apology and glossing over how long she’d kept him waiting.

Any minute now.

Ash stood from his chair, feeling his cheeks redden as he beelined for the door. He got stood up. He imagined the thought flittering in the girl’s mind, pity weighing her voice from calling out to him; affirming that thought would only deepen the wound.

The doorway bell clinked as he stepped outside, greeted by a warm breeze and gentle rays from the sun. Summer was late to visit Cerulean City this year, and Ash had thought, you know who likes ice cream? Misty. You know who’d like to go on an ice cream date while the weather was this perfect? Misty.

You know who didn’t show up to the ice cream date? Misty.

He pulled his cap from his head, allowing the wind to weave its way through his hair. Reaching into his pocket, he pulled his Rotom phone out, thumbing his way to Misty’s contact information. Realistically, he could just call her to see where she was at, but his stomach churned at the thought. He was no expert in romance, but something seemed tacky about ringing up your girlfriend and going “Hey, I’ve been waiting forever for our date, why haven’t you shown up?”

He returned his hat and phone to their resting places, almost wishing he’d brought Pikachu along, but his little friend had insisted he go alone. It was a date, he’d been able to translate, and Pikachu knew to leave the two of them to their privacy. The sentiment was appreciated, though the company could have alleviated some of his boredom.

He decided that looking for her would probably be a better use of his time, but as he turned to the side he caught sight of a head of red hair bounding towards him.

“Ash!”

In seconds Misty slowed to a halt, resting her palms on her knees as she fought to catch her breath. A beaded hairband held her usual side ponytail in place, which had grown long enough to fall to her shoulders. She donned a familiar pair of shorts -- and really, when was the last time he’d seen her in pants -- along with a sleeveless top over a v-neck.

As always, she was gorgeous.

“Where have you been? Did something happen?”

“I’m sorry, Ash, but this morning...Gyarados, it...”

Underneath the lingering exhaustion, worry colored her voice, and Ash’s heart skipped a beat. “Did something happen to Gyarados?”

“When I let it out for a swim this morning, it seemed really sick. It didn’t want to move or eat at all.” She finally regained her composure, and the look in her eyes immediately made him feel guilty for his frustrations at her delayed arrival. “I took it to the Pokémon Center, and then I remembered that we had our date today, so I hurried home to change and get ready and that took me a while and-”

Had he not pressed his finger to her mouth, she would’ve gone on and on forever with her explanation. He grinned at the slight furrowing of her eyebrows and the way her lips pursed. It was a gesture that would’ve gotten him slugged in their youth, but in their newly-achieved adulthood, she’d learned the level of care behind the way he silenced her.

“As long as Gyarados is okay, it’s fine.” He pulled his finger away, only to lean down and replace it with his own lips. She smiled against his mouth, spurring on his own, and his palms found her shoulders, where they remained until Ash decided he’d kissed her long enough.

“So? Ice cream time?”

She beamed up at him before wrapping her arms around his. “Yeah, let’s get going. I’m sure you were so bored waiting for me, though.”

“Me?” Ash waved a hand dismissively as he directed them to the ice cream shop door. “No way, I was the most patient guy in there!”

“You sure you weren’t the only guy in there?”

“Actually, I think I was.”

She giggled, eliciting a small leap from his heart. His hand found hers, interlacing their fingers together as he opened the door. The bell clinked once more, and the girl from before greeted them, a knowing and relieved look on her face. In an instant, he felt the same.

Ash Ketchum did not, in fact, get stood up.

<The video opens in what appears to be a blank violet void. The camera shakes and clatters a bit, rubber squeaks and scratches heard as it sharply jolts upwards to reveal a nearly impenetrable blizzard. The sound of boots crunching through below below is the one indicator of progress as wind whips past the camera, the sky above a menacing swirl of violet.

A wall of stone with a few jutting rocks comes into view, and the camera briefly pans to look up it before suddenly being flung towards the wall. The startled yelp of a Morgrem is heard alongside furied growling as a set of gloved hands reach out and start scaling the wall. Whoever it is, they're covered in full PPE, fully equipped to handle the shadow sky. A small arm briefly slips into view as the camera is jostled, and it also seems to be fully suited up in a child-sized parka and winter gloves, duct tape wrapped around the wrists to further seal it up. As the trainer climbs, metal can be heard softly clinking against the rock.

The footage glitches a bit, then jumps forward to the inside of a cave. There are wild pokemon hiding everywhere, as well as several trainers, but none of them are making any attempts to come out and battle. They're all terrified of whatever is going on outside. A badly burnt Meditite is sprawled out in the middle of the cave floor, and the camera is jostled as whatever's holding it jumps down to investigate. That small arm reaches out to turn the Meditite over, then immediately shoots back with a terrified screech as it's revealed that the Meditite's eyes are completely burnt, tear stains carved into its face from the shadow sky. However, despite these grievous injuries, it still appears to be breathing, if just barely. Heavy footsteps can be heard rushing over, then the feed glitches out again.

When it cuts back in, they're at the exit of the cave. The camera points down at a stone pad with a flute etched into it, then pans up as the trainer makes their way up the stairs. The wind is whipping at a deafening volume, and heavy breathing can be heard from behind the camera. As they make it to the top of the steps, a figure can be spotted amidst the shattered pillars. She isn't wearing PPE apart from standard winter gear, yet she's staring directly into the shadow sky, unbothered by the violet snow.

As she turns her head, the trainer charges forward, and the video cuts one final time.>

But also like… I’ve had this Au for a while now that Rotom Dex or a version of it has been in use for years. But instead in use for normal trainers, their given out to extraordinary trainers and people that work in the gym circuit. Like champion for equally as close gym leaders.

It the idea is to mostly capture videos or photo’s of what these people do day to day or extraordinary experiences such as coming in contact with a Marshadow or a Latios. Something that absolutely doesn’t happen to ordinary people.

This would absolutely be something Ash would have, receiving one after his Johto circuit in Hoenn on behalf of Lance’s insistence. Though it proves him will when he comes in contact with Legendaries and mythical’s alike through his journey. All of these are accumulated on a private and very secure data cloud because for some reason Ash’s interaction with the God’s give scientists and historians a lot more data. Especially when these Legendaries and Mythical’s show up on their own term, speaking out the boy for one reason or another.

Ash had forgotten about that little tidbit. He’s so used to forgetting his Pokédex actual exists in the heat of the moment and usually when it’s done flying around and catching video and pitot evidence, it’s back in his pocket before anyone can really see. It isn’t until Alola when he comes face to face with a talking Rotom-Dex. He’s never seen one so… clunky before either.

All this adds up to when he finally beats Leon and becomes the World Champion. A video is soon played on all of the Regions Tv stations as a monument celebration for Ash, showing just how far he’s come. It shows off extraordinary battles both in and out of gyms, amazing sights people of have rarely ever come across and have little to no knowledge of its existence.

Even other worldly and dangerous stuff like angry Legendaries and Mythical’s. Regardless the PG rating is way pass R at this point and there’s not much that anyone could really do to edit what the people watching at home see. A very big hindsight to the International League.

But that means everyone gets to see kind of like a movie view of Ash defeating Zero and saving Giratina or glimpses of Kalos’s Doomsday, especially including Ash getting zapped by the same rays controlling Zygarde and that cool water thing with him and Greninja. They see Ash trying to keep the Alolan class safe while also dealing with the Ultra Beasts, Dealing with Groundon and Kyoger with Lance and his traveling partners by his side, and don’t forget the most important one which is the entirety of Shamouti island and Ash being referred to as the Chosen One. The little details like Celebi’ sand Mew’s coming to greet Ash randomly through his travels or Ash relaxing in the sun with Solgaleo. His time traveling adventures and mishaps and everything else in between.

The world gets to know Ash more then they’d probably like but it’s clear to see just how far this kid has come to claim the title of the World Champion.

funny things about my rpg oc that i am playing as now because i need to talk about her:

• her name is Willow Evans

• she autistic (just like me) and she has FND (functional neurological disorder), and she is a ambulatory wheelchair user (she uses wheelchair but can also walk with help of other aids or even withouth then in some days) • she is she/they (ela/elu) • she is studying pokemon biology in college • her first pokemon and best friend is a galarian meowth called Taro • she is from paldea • she is a lawful good • her unique talent (every character has one, her is named "the aura of a smal angel") is that she can calm people and heal them in a ray of 2m just because of ther aura • theres a creature following me, our medium tried to talk to them, but they hate her because she is going to take away my "purity and inocence" and they're triyng to protect me from everyone (????) it's probably my legendary/mithical pokemon, and i am scared • her biological family hates her :) but her adoptive father is a sweet soul • her first apparence was based on maka from soul eater, but her current design is a mix of her and miria from baccano and some other ideias • she has one big problem: she loves money, and bargain, and this is the number one reason she gets in trouble • her team is: Galarian Meowth (Taro, my ace), Pyukumuku (Plankton), Heatmor (Avdol, my friends idea, he is a experiment), Littlen (Todd, he is also a experiment, and he has the name of my cat who has the name of a Incineroar from another campain) i dont know what to tell anymore, i want to post more about her, if you guys want to know something you just need to ask! -Ray has a Rotom and an Alakazam. They help him out with his photo shoots, but more specifically they help him out around the house.

-I feel like Victoria(especially if she's a tharpist or foster parent) in this universe has a bunch of different fluffy dog type pokemon that double as emotional support pokemon. In that same vein she might also have a munna/musharna to help aide with any nightmares.

-Also I like to picture Mrs Harrison having an Audino as a teacher's aide.
