Please tell us about the Cinder au I love Spyro!!!
LAUGHS EVILLY YOU'VE ACTIVATED MY TRAP CARD
Okay so basically my au focuses on rewriting Cynder's story from Legends to better fit the Reignited universe while also introducing Ember and Flame into the mix. Here's their designs as I have them currently!!!
Tumblr media
Now I'll put the lore under a readmore-
Cynder is a young dragon who originates from the Magic Crafters homeworld. Outcasted by her peers and overlooked by her elders in favor of the child hero, Spyro, she runs away. Jealous and angered over the unfairness of her situation. She stumbles inside of a cave where she finds a large, black, glowing crystal. It whispers to her, beckons her. She lays a paw on it, entranced, and blacks out. She awakes to find herself in a nightmare world. One twisted and ugly full of her fears and insecurities. She eventually finds Him. The Nightmare King, shrouded in darkness. Only his eyes able to be seen. He speaks to her and appeals to her emotions. Manipulating her and promising that she will be loved by all is she can help free him from his prison. Cynder, a young and desperate child, agrees. She awakes, her body changing, her scales darkening, her horns growing sharper, and chains forming around her neck and ankles. Marks of the nightmare king appearing on her scales. Now starts her task to free him. She becomes a terror, wielding elements of darkness to aid her in battle. She must steal a crystal from each dragon homeworld and lay them together in the abandoned Nightmare temple in dreamweavers to summon him back to the waking world.
Along her journey she meets Flame, Spyro, and Ember who she defeats in battle. Spyro being the first she beats, as he overestimates his abilities due to his previous wins. This spawns a NEED to defeat her and he chases her all across the dragon realms. She meets Flame in Peace Keepers. He boasts how he can easily defeat her, having a huge ego. But he's all bark and no bite. Her kicking his ass just crumples his self esteem completely (think teru from mp100) Spyro convinces him to join forces and they continue pursuit. They fight her together in Beast Makers and are defeated, but with quite the struggle this time. The last world she visits, Dream Weavers, is where we meet Ember. Ember is the hardest opponent she faces. Being the princess of the homeworld and also most gifted dreamwalker gives her a huge upper hand. Ember, during the battle is able to see inside Cynder's mind for a brief moment and sees the corruption she's under. And it shocks Ember so much it gives Cynder time to defeat her and continue her journey to the temple. Ember is HORRIFIED bc she KNOWS who the nightmare king is. Malefor. An ancient dragon who once overtook the lands with his creatures of terror and destruction. Every dream weaver who is set to rule is taught this history and made to meet him in the dreamscape to understand truly what a monster he is. Ember screwed up when she met him tho, and a piece of him escaped. Growing that crystal found in Magic Crafters.
Cynder makes it to the temple and lays out all the crystals in order, ready to summon her King. Spyro, Flame, and Ember all confront her, but it's already too late. She frees him from the nightmare realm. The mass amount of power she uses knocks her out, the portal she opened beginning to suck her in. Ember, in a state of pity for her rescues her last minute and takes her with the group to safety. When Cynder wakes up she is PISSED. (This is pretty much all the most detailed plot I have so far the rest is story beats) After that I want Cynder to have a moment of clarity and realize through a really hard hitting scene that Malefor was just using her. It takes her a while but she slowly reforms and tries to make amends. Her and Ember have a love hate relationship. Ember feeling guilt over being the cause of this in the first place, but also hating Cynder's guts for what she did. And Cynder just hating her in general akhdjs. Flame being very skeptical and the hardest to warm up to Cynder. Kinda taking a Sparx like role from Legends? Except less annoying bc fuck Legends Sparx fr. Spyro I'm still debating on tbh. I want him to be really headstrong and like child hero syndrome?? And Cynder eventually becomes like bad influence big sis to him?? But yeah they all create a found family thing and figure out a way to defeat Malefor for good

Plotbunny AU : Pt 3 Alright, you want more? Here's MOAR Jaune and Alyx fill in Ozpin about everything they know about Salem, Cinder, their plans, and the Ever After and MAGIC.
Oh, and Qrow and Goodwitch are there too. Their reaction to Ozpin being caught flatfooted is almost as amusing as their reactions to realizing "Compulsive Liar with Trust Issues" didn't exclude them.
At some point, Jaune gets a full suit of plate-mail, and has his Aura unlocked and awakens his Semblance after an incident. He now spends every other night when he's not conditioning himself pumping more healing into Amber.
Alyx has to sit through a lot of how-to videos on stuff like the modern political structure of the kingdoms. The Great War. The Atlas Separation. Anything else she misses can be brushed off as being from the sticks like Jaune.
Jaune calls his parents at some point and rushes through "I make it into Beacon on a recommendation, sorry I took the sword and was an angsty teenager, also I adopted another sister and might have more soon, bye!"
Jaune does his best to introduce Alyx to modern conveniences and entertainment. He takes her by the hand and guides her through Vale, wearing his new armor to adjust to the weight.
He never meant for anything to happen. They had a very good plan to actually trap Cinder with a fake Amber in the Vault.
But then he's taking Alyx to see a movie at night and when he points out the scenery, there's a shop, a restaurant, Ruby fighting criminals-record scratch.
What.
Is that that Torckwick guy?!?!
Torchwick means Neo, the crazy midget!
Jaune tells Alyx to hide, and coazes Juniper out from his pocket, scanning for tri colored illusionists when a bulkhead appears and he sees h e r.....
and Jaune's vision whites out and he can't hear Alyx anymore.
But he knows the feel of Juniper rushing forward under him, adn she grows to her proper size and keeps growing.
And Jaune pushes his Aura into Juniper, his Semblance glowing, and Juniper kicks the Bullhead.
Right into the Dust Shop.
It gets very loud.
Glynda Goodwitch arrives to Jaune healing everyone's ears.
Ruby takes a moment to stammer: "Did you just kill that woman?"
Alyx, like the semi reformed hellion she is, replies with "Gods, I hope so"
(This was not the post I had planned. I had a whole fluffy Beason outline filled with Jaune being everyone's brother figure, Alyx questioning Pyrrha's intentions, and team pet shenanigans. I blame you for Cinder being kicked into a Dust Store for asking for more this late. Good Job. )
First of all, DONT call Neo a midget, what the hell dude
Second of all, all problems can be solved by big bunny. Get fucked Roman and Cinder. On one hand I hope they’re not dead because that would be a very anticlimactic way for them to go out, but on the other hand it IS very funny
And if Cinder is dead, then who did her sliver of the Maiden powers go to? Did they go back to Amber, possibly healing her? Or did they go to someone else?
Also, you could very well have Cinder survive. In canon she’s survived worse than this. Just give her some badass burn scars and throw her back into the action, more manic than ever, and now with a vendetta against our baby boy

RWBY DC AU; Villains
@howlingday
You brought up a good point at the end of the “Race of the Century” post.
How do the villains fit into this AU?
For my first nomination, Mercury Black as Zoom;
Tumblr media
The night he killed his father, Mercury gained a connection to the Speedforce, and after being given a set of prosthetic legs by Cinder, he found that he could channel the Speedforce through them, allowing them to withstand the forces applied to them by moving at high speeds. Mercury’s connection also allows to slow his perception of time, which initially allowed him to keep pace with Jaune.
I also nominate Adam Taurus as Deathstroke;
Tumblr media
He uses a sword and gun, and is also unable to see out of one eye!
A reformed Ilia could act as Batgirl;
Tumblr media
She works alongside Blake and Whitley as Batwoman and Robin.
I also think that Emerald could also be a reformed hero, but I can’t think of a good character she could fit.
Any suggestions?

I am curious about something: since this is an AU does anything change in this universe?
Do they meet Tyrian early or the horse monster Grimm.
Does Leo get exposed much earlier?
Does the vault fight in vol 5 even happen etc
I am curious to know if the timeline is still kind of the same or very different?
So, please refer to this handy-dandy chart for most of the early changes from canon-to-AU. I haven't updated it in... forever, but hey, it's still there I guess.
As for your questions:
They bypassed Tyrian entirely, since Cardin just drove himself and Ruby all the way to Haven Academy, making it near-impossible for Tyrian to track them/keep up by conventional means, as shown in the animated series. He fights Ruby and Cinder at Haven Academy, until Qrow shows-up, at which point Professor Lionheart also attacks Tyrian, gravely injuring the assassin and forcing a retreat.
Leo is exposed earlier, and is convinced to do the right thing and come back to the good-guys' side. He is arrested for his collusion with Salem after the Battle of haven and the Vault fight, but he recovered his honour.
The Vault fight still occurs as it does in-canon, but with Cardin jumping in to save Weiss from Cinder's attack, cementing his 'reformed' status in the eyes of Team RWBY. - J

In Team Gremlin, what are the chances that the Ringmaster decides to help certain team of huntresses in their righteous quest? (No, not RWBY)
One day, Robyn and her friends are approached by a messenger offering an alliance with the local crime shady elements.
(The messenger might be a disguised Cinder. She does have a very good reason to want justice and equality for Mantle's citizens.)
*laughs* honestly- it might happen! We'll see! It would be funny if nothing else.
Also the reformed Cinder headcanons are *potentially* being retconned we will see. I'm going over plot notes and my ideas for this au have changed over time but eh- we'll see if Cinder still makes the cut for reformation.

What plans do you have for Remnant Reform Center
The story starts off in the AU where all characters are older and graduated. Jaune Arc is a specialised huntsman in charge of reforming the rogue huntresses and criminals.
He captures Malachite twins and breaks them into his information brokers in the first chapter.
Throughout the story, he would go after the likes of Cinder, Raven and eventually even Salem.

Hmm, if Adam can be convinced Salem is Salvation and therefore go hardcore for her (in the belief doing so will help him save Faunus), what about an AU where, instead of being his canon power-hungry opportunistic self, is a hardline Sienna loyalist? Like, one where he's genuinely her right hand and protégé, like it was vaguely alluded was her belief at the end of his short.
It's less he thinks she's salvation and more like he thinks she's the only one who can properly burn the world down so he can reform it from the ashes, but that's splitting hairs.
The AU you present offers some great opportunities for exploring the WF power structure and politics, not to mention fleshing out Sienna. The story structure of “protegé turns on master,” particularly with the master being a kind of villain and the protegé turning out even worse than they are, is an established one that would work so well with Adam and Sienna. In this way Cinder would be the one to drive the wedge between him and Sienna and convince Adam that Sienna is not doing enough. Not only would it make Adam’s turn against Sienna’s policies easy to follow for the audience, it would also paint Cinder as even more cunning than her initial villain stint already did. That constant manipulation while Cinder ensures that Adam cannot actually contact Sienna would make Adam’s later arrival at HQ after Beacon’s fall a moment of incredible tension.
“I am the monster you made me” in all its flavors is the red/black color scheme of villain origin stories when coupled with betrayal. I love it.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
so aside from Sytke Ardus, I have created MANY RWBY OC's over the years that I don't talk about much often outside of Discord. Figured I'd just do a masterpost of them and talk about them all here. And yeah ALL of them are Faunus... don't judge
Also disclaimer, EVERYTHING here except for the last pic is not my art, they are drawings/edits I commissioned my friend @laytonesqueautistic to do
Anyway, all character bios under the cut. From left to right, top to bottom
Faolan Ossory and Aetos Dios: a wolf Faunus and an eagle Faunus respectively, and Sytke's two other friends. The two of them, Sytke, and Ilia form team SAIF (pronounced "safe", as it's named after the star Saiph on the constellaion Orion). Two Faunus orphans that have supported each other's backs all their lives living as partners in Menagerie. Faolan is the more socially awkward and airheaded of the duo, while Aetos is cautious, paranoid, and not much of a risk taker. Faolan is based on the Irish werewolves of Ossory (his semblance called “Wolfwalker” is the ability to take on the ghostly form of a wolf whenever he's knocked unconscious), and Aetos is named after + based on Zeus' eagle in Greek mythology
Magenta Rogue and Caliber Pantera- actually RWBY versions of my Hazbin/Helluva OC's Raiya and Colt. A romantic spotted hyena and jaguar couple, and former White Fang members. However they worked for Adam moreso out of necessity and survival than a desire for revenge (though that WAS still part of their main goal at the time). Ever since they abandoned the Fang they've struggled to get by until they found a decent home with new friends in Menagerie (yeah I guess this type of RWBY OC is kind of cliche but whatever, was the best thing I could think of for them)
Bruce Thlayli- inspired by Bigwig/Thlayli from the book Watership Down, a rabbit Faunus (his animal trait is his front teeth) who also once worked for Adam as one of his high-ranking second in commands. Unlike Magenta and Caliber, Bruce voluntarily and actively supported Adam until he gradually became more and more disgusted of his leader’s homicidal actions. His rough falling out with Adam led him to have an often harsh and aggressive, but often well-meaning demeanor. He currently still works with the White Fang, but the reformed version under Ghira's new leadership. He now serves as a drill sergeant for a new and improved White Fang military division for both Huntsmen and non-Huntsmen alike.
Busa Simba, Alma Catori, Silver Fujiwara, and Cincy Sandleford- an all-Faunus team from Vacuo that form Team BASC. They're all really just an excuse for me to have RWBY OC's based on my favorite animal xenofiction, full info about them can be found on my Google Doc here
Faye Ruzizi-Gustafson, Wilkins Savo, Kuro Kuma, Champa Corbett, and Val Savo- ok last group of OC's that have some relevance to the White Fang I swear. A lot of their story is centered around my canon-divergent AU involving Sytke which I've talked about before in different posts, but basically they're a cult of Adam-worshipping Faunus called the Red Fang (edgy as that sounds) that want to honor Adam's legacy and bring back his old homicidal ways, and serve as a main source of conflict for Team SAIF in my AU. They are all themed after irl animal serial killers known for attacking humans. Faye is based on Gustave the crocodile, Wilkins and Val are brothers based on the man-eating lions of Tsavo, Kuro Kuma (the leader) is based on Kesagake the Sankebetsu brown bear, and Champa is based on the Champawat Tigress.
Florence Cuta- basically a secondary RWBYsona for myself (first one being my goat Faunus girl Lara Ziege). She's a vicious spotted hyena Faunus who works at a shady bar in Mistral that's actually a hideout spot for underground criminal operations. And she thinks Cinder and Tyrian are very attractive, definitely not a self projection in any way shhh

I've seen this au in awhile can you please do reformed cinder au please I want to know what happens next since I last saw it
Cinder: *wincing as she was pressed to the ground and cuffed* I’m not here to do anything wrong!
Atlas Soldier: *tightening the cuffs on Cinder’s wrist* And you’re still wanted by Atlas authorities.
Cinder: I came here the right way this time!
Blake: *finally catching up to Cinder* What’s going on?
Atlas Soldier: Just arresting a terrorist. You can be on your way-
Blake: *sighing and pulling out her scroll to show her license* Cinder’s with me and under my watch.
Cinder: *glaring up at the soldier* Told you!
Atlas Soldier: Then make sure to keep her on a leash. *uncuffs Cinder* Atlas will have their eyes on both of you.
Blake: *rolling her eyes and helping Cinder up* I told you to wait for me.
Cinder *rubbing her wrists and sighing* I know, I know. I just want to prove myself as trustworthy.
Blake: And you are. Now, what exactly is the idea that you had?
Cinder: That old woman taught Ruby how to use her eyes, right? Then maybe she knows something about them that we dont. Something that can help us rid Ruby of the arm she took from me.
Blake: And if she doesnt?
Cinder: Then we go back to Ruby and figure something else out. I’ll burn that arm off her if I need to if it cuts all of us off from Salem completely.
Blake: And you’re sure that you’re not using this as some way to get back at her?
Cinder: *sighing* Not anymore. I’ve had time to think things over and while I’m not sure why Ruby wanted to help me, I need to help her too. And then maybe figure out my own plan. I know I’m not going to be allowed to be a huntress, but… maybe there’s something else out there I can do.
Blake: You’ll be fine, I know it.
Cinder: *nodding and watching a grimm fly over head above the city* Though, something tells me we’re not going to get answers yet.
Blake: *frowning as she watched more grimm fly over head, nearly blacking out the sky* We need to go to Winter. Now.

In your RWBY au, when does Cinder find out about Ozpin and her duties as a maiden? Does Salem tell her immediately or is she told after the fall of Beacon? Because it seems possible that Salem told her that her powers were simply vital in saving the world, but she still could've kept Ozpin and what was really going on a secret.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s one of the things I like thinking bout most in this AU. Salem, in contrast to Ozpin, doesn’t keep keep secrets when she doesn’t need to. Instead, she tells them more than they’re ready for.
She introduces herself to Cinder by telling her about the Maidens and her new role in the world, with the rest of the story to be told only if she accepts her offer to attend beacon.
After Cinder settles into WTCH and they start to face down Nora Valkyrie and her mob, then the White Fang, then Ruby, Salem knows in that moment, they’re a team prepared to fight for her. She calls them to her office after Cinder catches Ruby breaking into the tower and then tells them about Ozpin, his powers, his influence, and why they need to fight him.
She gives them their orders and her plan to take him down if she would ever disappear and after V3 and the fall of Beacon, Cinder is the one to carry it out, alongside Emerald, Roman, and Neo.
But after Salem rejoins the newly reformed WTCH and ERN + Raven, tensions and mistrusts peak. They chafe over her strict plans and dismissal of their concerns. It comes to a head and they ask Jinn about Salem’s plan and her history.
Then they learn the one thing Salem kept from them all; Ozpin can’t be killed.
Salem argues that Jinn’s wording means little. She can’t destroy him. It leaves it open for others to destroy him for her! She could end up killing him in a fashion separate from destruction. She could imprison him so securely he’ll never harm another human being.
But all they can hear is that she knew their mission was doomed. She marched them towards their deaths with a smile of her face and false reassurances without a trace of guilt.
There’s little choice left but for Salem to abandon them and start anew.

You thought this was over but it isn’t lol
Y’all thought @healing-winston-pratt and I were over but no :) and this is my turn to take the wheel again so hello :3
@novadreamer95438 Yo wanted to be tagged so here you go, we’re thrilled to have you here <3
And also @novas-tunnel-of-anxiety you also asked me to be tagged in my stuff so there you go, hon <3
Before you read this new list, you might want to check our previous content about this canon divergence:
Winston and Dawnie’s guide to ignore the canon (Tumblr hates me and won’t show the link so here we go https://dawniebb.tumblr.com/post/624197118868013056/canon-is-an-illusion)
Nova trying to find Callum while refusing to acknowledge she’s in pain
Winston is alive but life sucks (Fic edition)
Same as above but it’s a comic so it hurts more
Callum wakes up from a very violent c-section (Comic)
Thing is
We have a whole AU (well, it’s more likely just canon divergence)  so let’s see how things turn out for Narcissa and Leroy uwu
You thought we forgot Leroy but we didn’t lmao and Danna needs a wife so here we goooo
So, as we already know, Narcissa is the one who put The Rejects together, and she promised them a new life.
She basically doomed herself
yikes :)
So, obviously, she now has to help them leave Gatlon. And we figured that, then, that would mean Leroy and her would travel together.
The Rejects leave through the catacombs; they probably stole  some cars once they were outside the dome in order to leave the city.
Cut to Narcissa taking the passenger’s seat in Leroy’s yellow car because we say so.
The Rejects drive together until they feel the wave that drains their powers, and they have to stop to panic because they have no damn clue on what is happening.
Then the Supernova happens and they have their powers back so… They go back to their runaway before anything else happens.
They arrive to the nearest city in around four hours and stop to get supplies, but Narcissa keeps staring back at where Gatlon is supposed to be.
And Leroy tells her that, if there’s a chance Nova outsmarted Ace (and he knows his daughter her so he has faith), he’s taking the risk to going back to Gatlon.
He subtly suggests she can come too, but she says she’s still in debt with the Rejects.
But is she, though?
She has already taken them out of Gatlon and honestly, we don’t think they’ll stick together as a new gang or something.
They’re probably going to split out and take their own ways and Millie tells her so, and that’s how the two of them find themselves driving back to Gatlon like champions.
So then they enter back into Gatlon, empowered, like Dawnie when she failed Math and still went to watch Moana.
And Narcissa, bc she’s a good person and has common sense, asks Leroy if there’s anything she can do for him bc he’s a war criminal who can’t go outside that much hee hee and the one thing Leroy asks is for her to tell him where he can find Nova.
Narcissa does it, as it’s easier for her to move through the city without getting arrested af. She tells Leroy Nova is at the hospital with Winston, so Leroy waits until they’re both released to find a way to see Nova.
And he finds it. We don’t know if any of you have watched Kipo :’) (YOU SHOULD BTW BC IT’S THE BOMB) but Leroy basically pulls a Lio and leaves traces/hints for Nova to find him. Like, very specific things only she could understand bc, even if she didn’t have powers, she would still be considered a prodigy child lmao kiddo was playing with syringes without getting them in her eyes when she was 6.
Leroy waits….very patiently, btw, for a couple of days (3-4 days?) until one night he sees a tiny af silhouette  walking around the place like a cat and he just knows is her.
And she is, indeed.
So when she gets closer, she hugs him. It’s a very uncomfortable hug bc Leroy is not used to touch people, and Nova isn’t either. But yeah, they have a moment :)
They talk for a while, and when Leroy asks her how she’s doing, as in where she’s living, where she’s getting money from and stuff like that, she answers that she recently rented an apartment where she’s living with Winston because he’s recovering and it’s not like Nova will be willing to leave him alone knowing he was one of the people that raised her and showed her actual love :v
Leroy starts reconsidering his plan to remain hidden once he’s made sure Nova has it together lmao.
ofc he doesn’t tell her this, and after promising (indirectly) everything will be alright and that this might not be the last time they talk, they just go into their separates ways.
Until Simon calls Nova later that night telling her Leroy is at the HQs, surrendering lmao.
And so she goes there to ask him wtf is he doing, and Leroy might not directly tell her this, but he has nothing left to lose. And if he leaves, the only thing he’ll do is separate himself from Nova, who is like...the only family he has left.
So he wants to surrender because, that way, at least, he has a chance to get a sentence that might allow him get out of jail before he dies.
Might.
The thing is that, well, we know the Renegades caused Nova to go through a lot of awful stuff. And we suppose they know that too :v so, what they do while both Nova and Leroy are in the room, is that they get to an agreement.
Like, they don’t tell them the sentence in that VERY moment, but they do talk about how Leroy was always a very...neutral entity and barely anything he did was illegal :V ...besides being an accomplice ofc
Even so, Nova is hesitant about this whole thing, but Leroy is an adult and she can’t tell him what to do, so he agrees to go into trial :v
Given the fact that he didn’t have that many aggravating crimes and, in the end, he DID switch sides in the Second Battle for Gatlon, he’s sentenced to one year in prison and community service.
What we’re trying to say is that the Council basically pulled a Cinder and spared Leroy bc he helped win the battle.
Before going to prison, Leroy reveals to Nova that, in the end, he did keep a little Agent N as a last resource (just in case, y’ know), and gives it to her. Not to use it on herself, but to use it on Winston, who is evidently miserable with his powers back :’).
So Nova does, WHICH MEANS IN THIS CANON WINSTON HAS NO POWERS. EVERYTHING GOOD. OK?
And that was the last sample of Agent N, since the rest (whatever back up the Renegades could have had in labs) was destroyed when Ace lifted the city and there is no way to replicate it without Max’s gifted blood.
Perhaps the formula and data were also destroyed.
During the year Leroy is locked, the Council (mostly Simon and Hugh) provide Winston and Nova with stuff they need to live lmao. Like, a small house :) bc they can :)
Once Leroy is out, he starts living with them. Like a family. Bc we say so :)
As for Narcissa, once she’s back at Gatlon, she stays with Danna for a while (omg there was only one bed) before getting a job in a library, y’know :) and moving to an apartment.
Now, Nova DOES forgive the Renegades. Because, honestly, guys, a big part of the hatred she showed towards them was bc they promised they would come and then they didn’t.
But turns out they did lmao.
During the Battle, Nova learned that Georgia Rawles died on her way to save her family.
AND IDC WHAT ANYONE SAYS, DYING WASN’T GEORGIA’S FAULT :’)
But anyway, this leads Nova to kinda… consider getting along with the Renegades, because in the end they DID try. Like, she forgives all of the “Bc you promised you would save me” stuff, but she remains firm on the fact that their system can suck it bc it’s horrible
So said system changes for good, and Nova herself helps the Council establish more laws in order to make this less of a dictatorship lol.
She even pressures them into making the recruitment process more moderated; now, before attending the trials, aspirants must go through an interview that is, basically, like a job interview to make sure they’re qualified to have a position as important as a Renegade (y’know, Nova wants the Council to s t o p hiring people like Team Frostbitch) and if they don’t pass that interview, they can’t go to the trials; they also have to go through a training process even AFTER they’ve been chosen by a team.
We could talk about all the legal reforms we like to think they made more in depth, but for now, our job here is done :)
*Insert happy ending*

Cindered shadows Reaction
tl;dr - Fodlan is a crapsack world and I want to strangle Rhea (or break Amyr on her again). Yuri is a very good contrast to the others and a cool addition to the ‘verse  for all that he is basically Joker XD
I took live notes while playing
One thing to take note of here is the house leader’s “canonical” classes (Fortress Knight/Warrior, Hero/Paladin, Assasin/Wyvern ride, though some of those assume the budding talents to be unlocked already) as well as just more of a look into what their dynamic is when they’re together - as such well-contrasting characters I always thought it was a shame that they didn’t interact more so I’m glad for this
Edelgard is always somewhat standoffish/ closed off and generally the ‘logical’, least personable one, Claude is surface-level friends with both. Dimitri would like to think they are full-on BFF, calls Claude “my friend”, defends him etc. Claude’s friendship with Edelgard is very banter-driven, but there (the bit where she says “wow this trap could have been your idea” and hes flattered). Of course both of these carry over into their post-timeskip interactions especially when they part on good terms (Dimitri always does, and Edelgard easily can part with him on good terms, but Claude, though he doesn’t like the thought of them dying,  wouldn’t take risks on either them) - and of course it’s Claude who proposes the feast after the mock battle where they all eat together. Edelgard and Dimitri were never friendly (at least not during the academy), but at this point they’re civil.
Claudes Dialogues are BRILLIANT like he really shines in this one (Edelgard probably gets the least exposure but all of this is set before the reveal, so she has to keep her cards close to her chest - Or maybe there just cant ever be enough Edelgard for me lets be honest)
First impression of the Ashen Wolves is that they’re all very dramatic with a lot of bluster (Hapi being the contrasting exception but over-the-top in concept) - they have really been the Kings of their own little world, having a lot of free reign underground, accountable to few and throwing down for the heck of it
So it’s Yuri Leclerc and he was adopted by a Kingdom noble, the same Gwendal and Lonato served  and who dies if Arianrhod is blasted, but it seems like unlike wish Ashe who was taken into the family this was just a temporary gig for him
That makes him a commoner, which by itself is a big difference from the other three. Dimitri is and always was the crown prince whereas Edelgard suddenly ascended the sucession list due to tragedy and Claude has a much doubted claim on both sides of the border
I suspected he was going to be from the kingdom as we already had the Alliance, the Empire and the token Foreigner accounted for - also ‘Yuri’ is a slavic name like ‘Dimitri’ - though being adopted he isn’t necessarily from there
(Later we learn that he was in fact born in a village in the Kingdom)
Also liked the callback to count Gloucester’s sheming and how he had Balthus spy on Claude
They do go through some work to flesh out Abyss and make it feel lived in as a sort of society.
Just look at that very very makeshift classroom. Few down there were getting any sort of education before Aelfric set this up
They do something clever here where Balthus tells you part of why he’s wanted, prompting the question of everyone else’s stories
This idea of a wretched hive beneath the Church reminds me of Amsterdam where the big church was in the prostitutes’ quarter and they actually had flourishing trade agreements going on
But as a hiding place for outcasts it shows us all the uglyness about fodlan and how much persecution/ need for change there really is (Really wants me to play Crimson Flower again. Or Verdant Wind.)
There’s people “chewed up by the Nobility”
Duscurians and Almyrans
Many in the church want the place “purged”, Rhea wouldnt go so far but is at the very least unsympathetic
Tons of Banned Books (is this where Seteth puuts them?) Claude and Linhardt have a field day over it
That poor woman (probably Dagdan since she talks of a war) who was persecuted for believing in other religions (which was a thing under Rhea - I’ve been saying it, Shamir and Cyril are “allowed” because they work for Rhea which to her is the same as believing, both are “working for her family/ for us instead of against us” because Sothis is not just her god but someone she knows personally)
Yuri and his trouble are a sort of quasi-police or keeping order, reporting to Aelfric. As his second in command Yuri is a sort of “prince” and already lead his own bandit troupe, or perhaps more a chieftain than a prince, he’s a leader, an authority but not an inherited one but 100% selfmade, he comes from nothing - People call him “boss”,
One wonders if he already dressed in this noncomforming manner before comming to the abyss
He is very very self-reliant, decides and opines for himself, gives Byleth backtalk, very much a natural leader who owns his influence entirely to that natural-leader ness
Byleth asks very good, very direct questions
Hilda, Linny and Ashe are here because of their connection to the Abyss characters and the information they can provide - Ashe knows Yuri, Linny knows his book lore, Hilda heard rumors from Holst...
Here we get to appreciate why Claude keeps Hilda around she knows all the gossip, all the ‘local’ information that Claude doesn’t have, she’s an excellent info source
Lets appreciate that it was those three specifically because they were slacking off
Ppl say there the church scorns them pretty much I like how they’re no longer even pretending that the church is nice
The four MCs, meanwhile, might all have ended up here in a different life; If El had escaped the experiments she could’ve been like Hapi, Claude was already an outcast, Jeralt fled with Byleth as a refuge(or could have been sent there as a mercenary to torment the locals and then decided to stay there instead), maybe not young!Dimitri, but timesskip Dimitri was outright a vagabond and says in his lecture questions that he travelled many places and temporarily lived in slums he didn’t go full murdery until a few years in, as Gilbert recounts
AU where they all grew up  or met in the Abyss is what im saying, and the four MCs and Yuri team up. The slitherers still stir up war, perhaps Duke Aegir or Arundel made themselves Emperor etc.
Characteristically, Dimitri really likes the idea of a secret haven for the outcasts (see all his dialogues about “acceptance” and general ‘help-the-orphans’ thing) - but also characteristically he’s a bit of a tool for the status quo- “Claude don’t be rude this guy is giving out charity~” but the issues Dimtri the issues they shouldn’t need to hide anyways and this is why I prefer the ‘revolutionary’ routes (CF and VW) - though to his credit Dimitri does do charity and stop ppl being poor when he’s king.
Claude is absolutely having a field day, this is right in the way of his “Political program” - “What you’re helping the poor and downtrodden by barely tolerating them in a sunless hole where they have to hope the church doesn’t decide to purge them” They basically live in ever present danger
Bit sad that they had Edelgard “tied up” catching up with Constanze rather than stating a reaction to the abyss as a whole though it’s probably very deliberate that she keeps her cards close to her chest - As constance asks “What is the princess doing here?” - investigating that’s what. She mostly asks questions or voices conclusions - shes certainly also investigating for her own purposes
But of course Dimitri and Ashe, pure as always, immediately want to help the locals
Edelgard meanwhile is thinking strategy, talking of capturing and interrogating the enemy
Of Yuri ppl tell you both that he’s a real scoundrel/ “our scoundrel” - he loooks out for them so they obey him, “when I say jump they jump” - a Mafia leader of sorts. He’s like Claude in the ‘motivating ppl through taking care of their interest’ parts but claude’s alliances are looser and no one does “jump” like Yuri projects authority, its not quite the honor loyalty Dimitri inspired because he “pays”, Edelgard projects authority but it’s loyalty to the cause more than personal loyalty, and she’s an ideologue and inspires the same in her followers theres no “pay” from Edelgard. She warns you that you might die and that’s it. She is the same herself.
I think Yuri would die for another the way that Claude and Edelgard would not, like when Aelfric got his mom putting her in danger was never an option. I don’t think you could pressure Edelgard with a hostage, she’d just be like “Hostage-kun, I won’t let your death be in vain” and then tell their captors to screw themselves.
He has things in common with all the others - he has a certain honor and a people-driven leadership style like Dimitri (rather than ideals-driven like Edelgard, Claude and Seteth) - though unlike Dimitri his honor is only for the “in” group, he cares about protecting his turf, his people... and nothing else. Thus he doesn’t fit into the revolutionary (Edelgard, Claude) vs restorer (Dimitri, Seteth) dichotomy because he’s not concerned with the system as a whole - he doesn’t like it or have faith in it, but he will absolutely work with it when it suits his aims (such as when he makes his own alliance with the church behind Aelfric’s back, or just working with Aelfric in the first place)
This alliance is probably also supposed to give a reason why the Wolves would sttick with the church later (though Hapi’s non CF supports talk alot about reforming the crap institution that it is) even though they mostly have reason to dislike them
Like Edelgard he is calculating and ruthless more than Dimitri or Claude. (He laughts at peeps who fell in his trap) But you couldn’t see Yuri sacrificing an ally like Edelgard does (like with Dimitri the people come before the plan) and Yuri often markedly does NOT tell allies what they’re getting into while El makes a big point of telling everyone the risks and allowing them the chance to step out
In a way he’s Claude with a edge but without the big vision. Yuri is the most small-picture, Claude the most big-picture of the lords
They also have a different relationship with trust - some describe Yuri as “devoted to his own but too trusting” , he says it’s a choice... but he is never really fooled, just pretending to be, he solves a great part of his plot on his own.
Like Claude and Seteth he prefers to play it safe/ know he can win (though Claude and Yuri arent against calculated risks) whereas Edelgard and Dimitri will do what they think is right with no guarantee of victory and don’t care much if it kills them or their followers
Otherwise tho they have a lot in common and are fast friends XD Yuri makes some great observations “Wow look at you three trying to suss out each other’s motivations must be exhausted”
“Doesnt take a title to have an agenda“ - Yuri and Claude are really... a “takes one to know one” situation
Claude tells us they generally get along tho (”Any misunderstanding might spark a war... ”... yeah)
Likewise, Yuri immediately gets that Claude’s friendliness is esentially “maintaining neutrality” more than actual allegiance
Yuri also seems relatively forward in romantic matters which is unlike the others lol
Remember how I was frantic for Claude/Linhardt or Claude/Hubert friendship content? Here’s another great team that ought to have interacted more, I could even see them working romantically assuming that Claude would be so inclined.
Hapi/Sylvain, too! Because they’re both cynics
But despite her cynism Hapi is also characterized as considerate
Yuri likes board games! hes in the board game squad with Hubert, Claude, Sylvain and Edelgard. The Board Game squad is incidentally the Best Characters club
He’s not big picture and only develops something like that toward the end of his support chain (to fight poverty)
So in a sense his style and the hole in it is more like Byleth’s own - he learnt practical leadership in the field and applies it for those he likes. He’s more self-directed
aaand more undercover fun
It seems that both the slitherers and Alferic were after the Chalice at the same time - the Death Knight’s presence hints at it, Metodey’s confirms it. So far I’d assumed he was one of Edelgard’s loyalists like Ladislava but it seems he works directly for Arundel, Edelgard is not too friendly with him and accuses him of “Disrespecting her house”
Since Aegir was in power during the Bridgid and Dagda war, the slitherers could definitely have had something to do with how Constance’s family was treated, if they were onto her secret - I don’t see how Aelfric could have done it
Bold of El to order Jeritza away in broad daylight. At this point she’s probably come to accept that no orders are gonna keep him from Fiting PPl where he can, especially her she is a very tough opponent
I trusted Aelfric until he spoke. The voice is... its not a good guy voice. Same with how the eyes are drawn
then he called people “his flock”
“They are charitable only when it suits them”
“they have eyes and ears everywhere”
Yeah. I’ve always said that Rhea is like one of those millionaires who give their pocket change to charity but then support policies that keep people poor. Hopefully no one will keep arguing that she cares about the poor or the disenfranchised.
“Her grace thinks its a nuisance”- This tells us alot. Alfric had to convince Rhea to give half a rats ass about the poor but still speaks of her with honorifics. That’s the crack in his soul right there
I also love how Yuri protests whenever anyone - the church etc make plans for him, hes very self-governed
Hapi, Lysithea, El and Byleth should have a “victims of human experimentation” support group
Alternatively, Cursed People support group with Hapi, Marianne, Bernadetta and Dimitri
I like the C supports with Byleth and Balthus as well as Hapi because they tell us not just about them but about Byleth - Both adress Byleth’s go-with-the-flow tendencies and lack of own direction, though Byleth makes clear that by this point they actually like the professor gig
“I could see this person just about anywhere”...in a bad way. Oh but Hapi you too can be recruited to all routes XD No she’s right. By-By is being used and she should tell them.
MORE PARENTS LORE I rejoiced so much and this was such a cool thing to adress here
At first it seems that Rhea was also after the chalice but turns out she had written it off and the one pursuing it within the church was Aelfric
But you all do catch the implication that she did this all before and “great tragedy” resulted? Right? You get what that means?
For once she actually noticed a mole though Aelfric likely wasn’t subtle
It results in a zombie dragon because she meant to revive a dragon not a human
By now people should really be used to Rhea handing out legendary treasure to byleth
there are friendly reminders of the western church purge still going on
I like how constance smells a spy right away
Also the contrast between Hapi’s jaded “Lets just give them the thing so they leave us in peace” (Yes, Lapis Lazuli) and Constance’s “We can’t let them have the artifact! theyre bad” - Constance might be shrill but she’s a person of action
The sunlight thing is a tad over the top/unrealistic but it’s not per se the cliched split personality thing, more like going outside brings out the bad memories after hiding away underground for so long (she tells mercedes as much) while she otherwise covers it with bluster. Her parents and older brother were killed and her hometown destroyed, after all. She is still basically talking the same overdramatic/ formal way
Perhaps two sides of nobility like the pride but also the demure good breeding n shit, there is some forced quality to the bluster even indoors
But ultimately she’s pretty hard working and determined underneath
At one point Hilda says something like, “You sure that we should interfere? I don’t want to make anything worse it might be better to stay out” - This right here is why you can’t get CF Hilda
Further Hilda facts: She had countless suitors and knows her way around “magical doo daads” and fortune telling
Having her mildly superstitious is of course a fun contrast to claude
“Compared to you even Hubert looks like a spring chicken” lol
I was going “Linny I love you” the whole time
Speaking of love... The moment I decided I loved Yuri is when I learned why he was expulsed - because the church sent him to kill someone he knew and rather than be upset, or thing how he might change society to prevent it or draw other conclusions from it... He refused on the spot and fough church ppl. That’s when I saw how he fits with the other characters. What the contrast was.
Yuri is one of those rare types who would never give the full voltage in the milgram experiment
Because see? That ties back so well into the themes
One of the main scenes that contrasts the house leaders is their reaction over having to fight Lonato. They all sympathize to a degree, but none acts against it. Claude and Edelgard show their dislike of the church and want to stop crap like this, but right there right then, they play along for the sake of their plans. (Claude’s plan at this point still involves stealing relics)
Dimitri is the closest to Yuri in that he immediately regrets it massively and says they should have found another way (in part because he is against the notion of “sacrifices for the plan”) but this realization comes to him only after all is done because ultimately he follows authority/ sees some good in it and the status quo
Yuri,  meanwhile, flat out refused. Yeah he also killed whoever the knight escord was but he refused
Also let this sink in: Yuri was slated for execution because he refused to kill someone he knew. This is what might have happened to Ashe, Sylvain etc. if they had refused to fight Lonato or Miklan.
Aelfric arranged for him to fight someone he knew but that’s all he did, the rest is the result of normal church policy and then begged for pardon (meaning the normal policy would be to kill him) The mission might have gone to a different house, but the church constantly makes ppl fight ppl they know. You realize just how easily all our beloved characters could have ended up just like Yuri?!
I loved how, when offered info about their parents, Byleth immediately seeks it out with no delay
“Never discard a wild hunch lol“ Claude I love you Linhard I love you
Generally we see Dimitri being the local people person and catching onto details about people’s emotions and dispositions , while Edelgard is like, “Investigate this, investigate that” (i love that about her), and Claude is the oddball/curveball and follows his intuition. Yuri goes on instinct, Seteth, if I had to say, on experience perhaps, certainly caution.
So she doesn’t even recognize Dimitri. She did say that “she can’t say the name” so she probably never learned that her little friend was the prince. Can ppl stop acting like she snubbed Dimitri or like she has any reason to treat him like a brother?
I don’t think he pieced it together until the ball, and she only realized either during the parlay (AM) or some time before their final confrontation (She distinctly knows by the time she killed him)
Another poignant moment is when she basically didn’t trst Aelfric and only started considering that he might be good by the time Team Slither showed up. Yeah she’s not trusting and would have zero base assumptions that any church ppl are good
By the time she learns about the Nuvelle crest she’s so done like, “Are there any MORE conspiracies I should be aware of?” And indeed there are
Aelfric is sort of a consequence of Rhea’s coverup certainly not an 1D villain. He started doubting her after the coverup began semi thinking for himself and at first this led him to try and make the abyss less chaotic and speak in their favor before Rhea, but then when Sitri’s body fell into his hands he was just too tempted
And UGH remember when I said that for all that im not a Rhea fan, i don’t thnk the human experimentation was so bad because she didn’t harm anyone and it seems like the homunculi lived out normal lives? yeah i take that back
Even if Sitri wasn’t healthy enough to travel she didn’t need to be completely isolated exept for trusted church peeps
This would have happened to Byleth. You see how this would have happened to Byleth? Completely isolated and controlled?
Oh Jeralt jeralt baby you were so right to flee with Byleth so right
Worse because Rhea was a parental figure
Also she kept creating more homunculi though they turn out frail and basically live miserable lives
and the first attempt with the chalice probably did kill ppl
sitting with the corpse all the time is creepy too
doest that mean Byleth won’t rot either?
So she was a book worm - Jeralt did say she was brainy
It did start as a mentor crush, much like Byleth’s own relationship might
I love how Edelgard is all subtly concerned after Yuris fake attack
I wonder how that apology line was phrased in Japanese, “useless” seems a bit harsh given that Edelgard generally seems to love her father, but there is no denying that he lost control of his empire and that as a result villains wrecked havock all over it so there’s nothing better she can say there excuses wont help constances situation
Like this must be very hard for her
Constance’s support definitely confirms that it was the Seven Families/ ie the PM and Arundel who did this to her (also lol at the concept that she basically wants to make Byleth her very own Hubert or Gilbert)
Edelgard is saddled with all this stuff from the previous administration - I mean so is Dimitri with the instability, the recent anexation of Duscur and part of Sreng... but she gets confronted with it more, iDK if it’s common knowledge who’s really in charge
Because Yuri is concerned with his turf, not the world, it makes sense that “his” route would be the sidestory. I kind of wanted a part 2 in the sense that I like this cast and want more of him as a main character but I also get why there isn’t one... because he wins no matter what. Lucky seven! He’s the one who can’t lose (except if you dont do the sidestory I guess) ”He works with whoever’s in power to maintain his own, just like when he made the deal with Rhea. He gets all three house leaders and Byleth to promise that they will look out for the Abyss so his bases are covered no matter who wins.
- even so he basically solved his own problem and Byleth’s presence just kinda gave him the opportunity . Well, one defining factor is that they trust Byleth exactly because they don’t “seem like a typical church funky
Still since Rhea tells us the backstory here what use is the silver snow ending? I suppose she doesn’t mention the homunculus/ “I created you” bit but the lack of decay and the transplanting heart bits do sort of hint at it
Certainly a contrast tho, like in SS you learn the magicky parts us in CS you get way more about who mommy actually was as a person
Poor, Poor Byleth. This must be such a mindfrick for them. Like I had so many feels for By-By
It’s so weird to go back and have the Yuri & so present throughout the monastery, but  not know us yet

Can you tell us more about the babey overlord au? How does Cinder and ruby meet? Will Salem try to change ruby veiw of the world?
I’m frankly surprised by the amount of people that want this AU to be elaborated upon. Keep em comin’ folks.
Cinder takes the place of Ruby in canon, where she’s an expert fighter that took the notice of Salem and was allowed into Beacon on ‘recommendation’. Cinder is still for power as she is in canon but of a different sort. She wants to be the strongest huntress in existence and be remembered as a legend. This is due to a crap childhood and a grudge. Because of this Cinder is driven towards become a huntress, training endlessly and has a single-minded focus on it. Her arc during Beacon is to relax and become a better person before she can be the best huntress ever.
Cinder meets Ruby like they did in canon, in school. Cinder thinks Ruby is kind of a baby, bc Ruby was from Mistral Academy but was 2 years younger than everyone else. She keeps falling asleep in class and keeps talking about shows, her boyfriend, and is constantly cooing over her other teammates, Jaune and Pyrrha, by fussing over them. But she also thinks Ruby is a very sweet girl who is always happy to help others. I mean, Ruby keeps on bringing cookies to class and shares them under the desk with everyone.
But that opinion quickly changes after the Fall of Beacon ...
Salem doesn’t really try to change Ruby and Oscar’s views, despite them being so young. She thinks they’ve fallen off the edge and the Oz Collective has radicalised them to the point of no return. But then there’s the Babey Overlords Chibi AU which I like to call the Babey Jail AU which is like--
Tumblr media
Basically, the Babey Jail AU is that Ruby and Oscar got defeated at the final battle cuz they got too tired n sleepy and fell asleep, snuggling each other in their pillow fort/castle and Salem was like “They’re too precious we have to save them” and Cinder said “No, they’re crazy and need to go down” but Salem is the adult so Ruby and Oscar were placed in a Babey Jail in a suddenly rebuilt Beacon. The AU follows Salem mothering both Oscar and Ruby into reformation ... futilely ...
I’d love to have Cinder’s concept here but I am tired and busy so I’ll reblog this post with cinder’s art eventually ... maybe ...

Pyrrha Is Such A Ray Of Sunshine She Can Turn Anyone Good And Now A Bunch Of Reformed Villains Have A Crush On Her AU
Like, Cinder, Neo, Emerald, and Mercury are all good because of Pyrrha’s infectious kindness and empathy, and all of them are like “Holy shit, Pyrrha Nikos, wow...”
And Pyrrha handles it perfectly because she’s just an Amazing Person™ and goes out to dinner with all of them.
So there’s my OT5. I’ll call it...Negative to Positive? Because turning from evil to good for the villains, and also + and – ends of magnets for Pyrrha?

ZOS’ short stories 35
Title: Queen Nora Shenanigans (RWBY)
Note: This is an Medieval AU.
————————————————————
*In a throne room, with the queen herself sitting on the throne, and her three loyal assistants Pyrrha (who’s an angel), Ruby (who’s a jester), and Ren (who’s a butler) are standing near her*
Guard 1: M-My queen! We bring the lowly peasants who’ve been committing egregious acts in this very kingdom!
Queen Nora: Bring the first one in!
*Cardin, who’s in chains, walks in*
Queen Nora: And for what brings you here, peasant?
Cardin: N-Nothing! I’ve done nothing wrong, queen!
Queen Nora: GUARDS!!!
*Three guards enter in, two point their spears at Cardin’s neck, and one hands a scroll over to Jester Ruby*
Queen Nora: List his crimes, fool!
Jester Ruby (reading): “Hate crime towards Faunus, attempted harassment towards female Faunus, attempted murder towards male Faunus, and assisted torture”.
Cardin (nervously): L-L-Lies! Th-Those are all lies!
Queen Nora: SILENCE!!! Fool, how should this lowly peasant be punished?
Jester Ruby: Well, my queen! *Smirking evilly* Shall we send him and his teammates to the slammer? Shall we exile him from the kingdom? Shall we forgive him of his crimes? Shall we give him...”The Tradition”?
Queen Nora (pondering): Hm... *Snaps her fingers* Give him “The Tradition”!
Cardin (scared): W-W-What’s “The Tradition”?
Queen Nora (standing up): OFF WITH HIS HEAD!!!
*Cardin starts freaking out and attempts to escape, but gets restrained by the guards and taken outside*
Queen Nora: Lady Pyrrha, have you found yourself a fiancee?
Angel Pyrrha: My queen, I’m not interested in finding myself someone to bed with. My highest priority as of now is serving you and protecting this kingdom for as long as I live.
Queen Nora: Hmph. Very well. I respect your decision. NEXT!!!
*Cinder, who’s in more chains than Cardin, walks in*
Queen Nora: And for what brings you here, harlot?
Cinder: My queen, with all due respect, I’ve done nothing wrong in this wonderful kingdom.
Queen Nora: GUARDS!!!
*Five guards enter in, four point their swords at Cinder’s head, and one hands a scroll over to Jester Ruby*
Queen Nora: Fool, you know what to do.
Jester Ruby (smugly): Aboslutely. *Reading* “Murder, assassination, torture, robbery, and attempted genocide”.
Cinder (eyes widened): M-My queen, p-please...
Jester Ruby (smirking): Off with her head?
Queen Nora: OFF WITH HER HEAD!!!
*Cinder gets taken away*
Queen Nora (taking a deep breath): My butler...my wonderful, dearest butler... *looks to Ren with sparkling eyes* I request buttermilk pancakes. Please~.
Butler Ren (taking a bow): Absolutely, my queen.
Queen Nora: But not right now. Perhaps after I deal with the next peasant.
Butler Ren (taking another bow): But of course, my queen.
Queen Nora (smiling): Very good. NEXT!!!
*Jaune, who’s in less chains than Cardin, walks in*
Angel Pyrrha (internally): G-Goodness! He’s...! *Slowly starts to blush*
Queen Nora: Alright, commoner. Are you willing to cooperate with me unlike the last two peasants?
Jaune: In my defense, my actions were for the sake of my family.
Queen Nora (raising an eyebrow): Your family?
*Jester Ruby starts drinking some milk*
Jaune: I am willing to admit that I stole money and food, forged money to buy food, committed acts of vigilantism...but again, it was all for the sake of not only my mother and father, but also my seven sisters.
Jester Ruby (does a spit take): S-S-Seven...!
Angel Pyrrha (shocked): S-S-Sisters...?!?
Queen Nora (stroking her chin): Hm...fool, what shall we do we this one?
Jester Ruby (pondering): Hm...my queen, he doesn’t seem like a bad person. If what he says is true...
Queen Nora (noticing Angel Pyrrha blushing): Hm?
*The angel attempts to hide her blush with her wings, but Nora can easily read her*
Jester Ruby: I wouldn’t recommend giving him “The Tradition”, my queen.
Queen Nora (still pondering): Hm... *Walks towards Jaune and places a hand against his forehead*
Jaune (confused): Hm?
Queen Nora (internally): Hm...I sense potential from this man...raw, untapped potential...a power that is waiting to be sparked...to be awakened...! *Speaks up* Alright, commoner! Turn that frown upside down! GUARDS!!! Unshackle him!
*The guards come in, and release him from his chains*
Jaune (still confused): Huh?
Queen Nora: Today, you shall be reformed! You shall work under me alongside Lady Pyrrha, the Fool, and my lovely butler from now on!
*Ruby, Pyrrha, and Ren’s heads pique up hearing this*
Queen Nora: As for your family, I shall demand my guards to transfer them to a higher - and more respectable - area in this kingdom! And if they refuse, I won’t take no for an answer!
Jaune (shocked): I- Um- Wha-
Queen Nora (patting his head): Consider this an honor, um...speak your name!
Jaune: J-Jaune Arc.
Queen Nora (boastfully): Jaune Arc! Your “punishment” for thievery, forgery, and vigilantism...is that you work for me now!
Jaune (surprised): U-Um...okay! Th-Thank you, my queen!
Queen Nora (smirking): Fool! Lady Pyrrha! Show our new recruit to an empty room!
Jester Ruby/Angel Pyrrha (excitedly): Yes, my queen! *Both women grab his hands and guide him out of the room*
Queen Nora (turns to her butler): And as for you~...buttermilk pancakes~...for not only me, but for our new recruit as well~!
Ren (taking a bow): Right away, my queen.
Angel Pyrrha (internally): Hmm~...I believe I found myself a fiancee~...

Arranged Marriage AU Starter for @sireneia
I don't want to do this.
Every bone in Ishtar's body was screaming out as she watched the ship steadily grow closer, her limbs stiff and eyes narrowed. For a moment she considered if it would be worth breaking her vow, striking out at the approaching vessel with every ounce of hate and anger and fear she could muster, shattering it into a thousand burning pieces with a bolt of lightning from the skies as a harsh reminder of who she was, who they were dealing with. But she couldn't do that. Thunder and lightning could keep enemies in line and her family safe, but it couldn't put food in people's mouths.
Of all the things to threaten to bring down the reformed empire after almost twenty years...a famine. A damned famine. One that had already lasted almost a year, and now its effects were truly starting to be felt - no crops growing in all but the most fertile fields, animals dying off with their meat corrupted and beyond salvaging. Those regions that were still self-sufficient were now complaining more and more of neighbors lashing out at them, a frightening similarity to the Thracian Peninsula's old problems starting to become clear on a far larger scale.
Then a miracle happened, and Ishtar wished that it hadn't.
Gates...of all damned things. Some magical mishap that tore open a pathway to another world, one that was still intact - or mostly, compared to the current state of Jugdral. One that didn't just have food, but plentiful amounts of it, and ways of growing it and new strains of seeds that could resist whatever had gotten into their continent's water...it was a miracle. Aytolis was a miracle.
Aytolis was stealing her daughter and she hated all of them.
She couldn't remember the last time she'd had such an intense argument with Seliph - gods, had she ever? He had very clearly not been happy with it either, but eventually it had become clear how few ways there were to make an alliance like this and actually keep it. She had to hand over her daughter. She had to hand over her daughter to some spoiled prince, some debauchery obsessed noble-born, who would possess her and break her and force her to match his twisted desires and treat her like-
"I promise you, if we hear that he is even CLOSE to being like Julius, we will march over there and bring our daughter back by force. We won't let him hurt her. But we truly don't have any other choices..."
Unable to restrain herself Ishtar let out a sharp shout, turning away from the cliffs as a gigantic bolt of lightning struck the surf behind her - far away from the ships. At least she could put the fear of the Gods into these people, she supposed, a frown on her face as she went down to the beaches.
"Mother, please." Swanhild grumbled as she stepped out of the shade, standing at her mother's side and craning her neck to get a better look at her betrothed. Blue hair stuck against her forehead, the effect of her military dress uniform somewhat ruined by the sweat and seawater spray matting her hair and skin. "I'm sure they're already very scared of you."
"Not scared enough." She said curtly, eyes glancing over. It was good to see that Swanhild at least took her own warnings seriously, the girl's hand resting on her sword with knuckles clearly going white from the grip underneath her gloves. "You might be able to take care of yourself, but--"
"I know, I know. People find giant storms way scarier than a glowing sword." Swanhild's voice was thick with sarcasm, her nerves hiding behind amusement and familiarity. Ishtar nodded with a slight smile before looking at the approaching delegation and scowling slightly. That prince didn't look scared. He looked almost...excited. Or impressed, if she felt like being generous and giving him that kind of doubt.
Ishtar didn't like to stand by titles and decorum these days. But as the Aytolis delegation disembarked from their dinghy and straddled up the beach, men surrounding the spoiled shit that was taking her daughter away from her, she'd decided that a little pomp and circumstance might help her point.
"Her Highness Ishtar Friege-Chalphy, Empress-Consort, Commander of the Gelben Ritter, Goddess of Lightning and the weilder of Mjolnir." Her escort trumpeted, chest puffed out with self-importance. She nodded slightly as Swanhild sighed and rolled her eyes, loosening her shoulders. "...and her daughter, ah, Princess Swanhild Chalphy, Captain of the Royal Guard, Heir to Jugdral and the Tyrfing-"
"Not that I'll get to use it if  I move over there." Swanhild grumbled under her breath, letting out a yelp as her mother's heel stomped into the ground an inch from her foot. While she might want to turn the men in front of them into so many cinders and ashes she wouldn't want to tell her citizens that they'd be starving to death thanks to her daughter's errant mouth, either.
"Behave." She hissed, and Swanhild reluctantly nodded. The page finished his announcements of the rest of the party as if nothing had happened before turning a disdainful eye towards the Aytolian party.
"...Prince Rowan of Aytolis." He said, shortly. Ishtar kept a stern gaze, while Swanhild eventually sighed and stepped forward. She supposed she would have to be the mature one here.
"Hey." She said, flatly.
Well, it was for a certain measure of mature.
