Hello my dear Aka! Thank you so much for the lovely Ask 🥀 The answer to your question would be (without a doubt):

As You Are was first born on August 31, 2018. When it was first published, I had no idea how big it would really be several years later down the lane. There are a lot of reasons why this fic holds a very special place in my heart, but the following would be the ones that resonate to me the most:

1) It explores the potential significance that Mikasa's Hizuru bloodline would have had, but was not given as much room for expansion in the source material other than introducing an ally to the island. I adore Mikasa and I always hope to see her be reunited & surrounded by her Ackerman and Azumabito kin in the course of things. But since we did not get to see that in source material, I'm really looking forward to explore that in later chapters.

2) When the first chapter was published, I had no idea who's not going to make in the manga, boy am I glad I stayed true to my original vision. I really wanted to explore an alternative to the source material's happening where a truce between Marley & Paradis be negotiated (with Hizuru as the mediator through Mikasa's position) to fortify the 50 year plan & beyond. Mikasa could have been a character that has a lot to offer through her independence (she did it once in Trost, I want to see her taking a similar initiative as a leading figure again) I also want her to have all the opportunities she wasn't allowed to have in the source material because she's more than what was delivered by the end of the manga's final volume.

3) Reiner and Mikasa together are an unstoppable force if given an opportunity. I want to explore them together as a combined unit representing two major nations in the world map.

4) Through AYA, I have made new, cherished friends who shared more than fandom discourse with me. This story has also opened the pathway of RK's many possibilities. I have also had the privilege of having a direct, personal conversation with readers who are hardcore shippers of canon ships (will not cite which for obvious reasons 😆) who had shared how they have fallen hard for this OTP through accidental reading of AYA. I feel happy to know that AYA has a magical power of inclination and persuasion 🤣

5) AYA's only completed Act I, but it is blessed with a number of kudos that I'd never dreamt it would ever received! Thank you to every one of my readers for their continuous interest & support.

6) Hange-san lives. My preferred endgame OTPs will too, be delivered and achieved through AYA ❤

7) The significance of Reiner & Mikasa's healing powers towards each other will be unraveled more and more. Through that place of deep need and darkness, there will be the light that shines to balance it out. They both have been deeply affected by Eren's actions, apart from Armin. Reiner & Mikasa had unfortunately been at the receiving end of Eren's personal terrorizing action (Mikasa at Niccolo's restaurant, Reiner in the underground basement), that they will find the soothing emotional anchor in the other without them realizing it.

8) Reiner's duality & his psychological turmoils; if it had the reciprocal, continuous support from someone who would embrace it with her whole heart?

9) Mikasa's devotion & her emotional strength; if it was embraced openly (with pride) by someone who would appreciates it the most?

Edit: 10) Mikasa having a mother and a family again through Reiner's 😉

It depends on what you consider a WIP. If you only count fics where I currently have a document currently active, it's just Twist of Fate, the sequel/sister fic to A Line Uncrossed, since that's long enough that I want to wrap it up before starting anything else. That's going to become a full series focusing on Eruri, Gabi, and background slowburn Reikasa, although I'm yet to come up with a series name for it. However, if you count all ongoing series as WIPs, I have...

The Call - My Mikannie Buffy the Vampire Slayer AU (which can be read without being familiar with Buffy). Also ended up including w a y more Yumihisu than I had initially planned, and a big focus on platonic relationships outside of the romance.

Unchanging Destinations - A canon-divergent AU where Reiner is Marleyan on Karina's side and Eldian on his fathers. Features Jeanpiku, Falbi, and in the next few fics, some highly dysfunctional Gallirei.

Destiny's Challenger - The series where Gabi is physically sent back in time to 850 Paradis. I've finally finished the mountain of prequels for this fic. Updating the main story, Time's Witness, is next on my to-do list after I finish Twist of Fate. Mostly gen, but there is some background Falbi, Eremika, Aruani, and Yumihisu.

One Last Dance - An Attack on Titan fic. You don't get to know what this is yet, only that it's coming.

Year of Fire - An Avatar fic. Styled as a series of interconnected one-shots, Azula and Aang slowly fall in love over the course of a year-long trip around the world, as narrated by Toph Bei Fong.

Hello 😁 can I ask for a fic of ReiKasa transported into Marvel world and have to join avengers (I'm embarrassed to ask this 😂) because it has been on my mind lately

I can’t give you a fic, but I can give you a drawing! While I’m completely down for one-shots, I know any Reikasa AU is going to make me want to do something multi-chaptered, especially for something like a Marvel AU. That, and it’s been awhile since I last watched a Marvel movie. So to save all of you from OOC characters, I have instead turned to art. 

I love this idea so much! There are already plenty of potential paths they could take. For this specifically, I decided to have them ‘transported’ during their training years. 

Mikasa would keep using her Survey Corps gear. Or, at least a uniform modeled to be similar to it. She likes its familiarity and knows it's how she works best. 

Reiner would eventually, hesitantly reveal his titan shifter abilities to her. (This could also be a lot faster depending on when they’re transported into the Marvel world - Battle of New York anyone?) 

She would, obviously, feel betrayed and be noticeably upset and angry. I don’t see her immediately trying to kill him, like with the reveal in canon, as he’s not exactly threatening the lives of her friends. But, there would be a long period of little to no communication, or very cold communication, between them as they try and figure out the new world they’ve been thrown into. 

They’d be forced to work together as members of the Avengers Initiative, and it’s through those interactions that they realize they’re all they’ve got of their past lives (no Eren, no Armin, no Karina or Gabi). It’s familiar. And when they grow to be more comfortable, they begin to talk; they become close, and they’ll eventually have a connection that’s far beyond any they can possibly create with characters from the Marvel Universe. 

In time, they’d grow to rely on one another, trust one another, and confide in one another. Reiner would share about his past - all he lost and how he wished everything could be different, and Mikasa would open herself up to being vulnerable - sharing her secrets, talking about her worries. 

They’d start dating soon after that. 

And, if the other Survey Corps members were transported to the Marvel Universe later down the line, I know they’d absolutely be shocked at Mikasa and Reiner acting like a full on, regular ole couple, with absolutely no explanation for it as they greet their fellow comrades. 

As for the drawing, I immediately knew I wanted to do a roof scene. And because I can’t come up with outfits of my own, I decided that they’d be “fresh out of combat” so I can just, easily reference what they already wear lmao. (Not that the Survey Corps uniform is fully accurate. Me getting all those details down? Hell nah).

What was Mikasa like while she was pregnant in It's Gotta Be You universe!!! I can only imagine Reiner was extremely caring and Mikasa being grumpy or easily frustrated here and there haha. I love those two in that universe so sweet.

Fic Universe : It's Gotta Be You

Before they conceived the twins 6 months after their wedding, Reiner and Mikasa had a false positive. It wasn't Mikasa who cried. It was Reiner. He really wanted to be a father so badly.

Mikasa was the first to notice that she might be pregnant for real and she took the UPT (10 boxes! Just to be sure because she didn't want Reiner to be devastated again) without telling Reiner. Since she's an MO, she had her OBGYN's support to get an ultrasound during a shift to confirm.

The way Mikasa shares the news of the pregnancy with the daddy-to-be: she gave him a tiny wrapped gift box with a video player of the mp4 of the ultrasound and a message saying, "Hi Daddy, we can't wait to see you in 32 weeks!" They found out they're having twins immediately and Reiner cried, again, when he heard their twins' heartbeats for the first time through the video. Reiner sometimes replay the video on the big screen on the days it got too hard for him at work.

The following month after they conceived, they decided to keep it hush at first. However, Karina and Gabi noticed that Reiner's been having really odd food poisoning symptoms and that he actually threw up during a family dinner because they were having sushi that night.

Turns out Reiner had Couvade Syndrome or Sympathetic Pregnancy. This gentle giant had lost more weight in the first twelve weeks of their pregnancy and his nausea gets triggered when he sees any seafood. He'll need to snuggle up to Mikasa and be babied haha

He'll lie on her lap, facing her growing belly and said, "I'm going to tough it up for you, kiddos. You better let Daddy eat those mean grilled ribs Uncle Niccolo said he'll bring over this weekend." Then he would whine to Mikasa and said, "Mummy, I'm so hungry." He survived on isotonic drinks, cookies, saltines and fruits diets in the first 3-4 months like a parakeet 😆

When Reiner got the downsides of her hormonal effects, Mikasa gets the upside of her hormonal changes; namely a spike in her libido 😈 Reiner was blessed and cursed at the same time.

Mikasa was the one who has weird cravings. Fries on milkshake, pickled jalapenõs, celery sticks with blue cheese dip, greasy barbecued lambs with lemon slices and pineapple. Reiner was envious of her appetite.

Reiner and Mikasa has a very active lifestyle, so this woman does not give up her daily jogs and weekly workouts even when she's pregnant with more than one baby. When she's doing her yoga in the living room, Reiner would be on the couch with his hands in a cheese balls jar because he's so nauseous but hungry all the time. How he still managed to retain those abs, he has no idea 🤣

Mikasa got even more temperamental in the second and third trimester. She twisted Connie's arms and almost broke his neck because he called Mikasa huge.

As her pregnancy progresses, Reiner makes sure he'll give Mikasa foot and back massages every night.

The first time they felt the babies move, it was when they were watching a zombie apocalypse movie at home.

They brought Gabi along for baby nursery shopping. The three of them ended up arguing over the color scheme. Luckily Annie and Pieck, who are already mothers themselves, stepped in to help the mom and dad-to-be.

Annie, Pieck and Sasha hosted a surprise baby shower for Mikasa while Armin, Jean, Connie and Niccolo threw a dad-get-together for Reiner before the babies arrive.

Mikasa was always the physically stronger one during their pregnancy. However, the day when they had a scare because one of the twins weren't moving like usual, Reiner was the one who held a hysterical Mikasa in the emergency room the whole night, comforting her and he never let her go at all.

Baby Miraé was born before her brother, and Reiner got to hold her first. He was so proud and so fascinated of his princess that he'd almost forgot that they still have another baby on the way.

Oh yes, Mikasa almost broke Reiner's hand when she started her active labor. Right after she pushed baby Rémy out, this mummy asked for a giant cheeseburger like a boss b*tch she was, all while she was getting stitched.

Reiner was Mikasa's rock. In return, he will always be Mikasa's big baby even after the babies are born.

Universe: As You Are

Fights & Arguments

With all the uncertainties & adjustments required of the newlyweds, arguments are to be expected without a doubt. Their challenges extend beyond their shared history as former enemies and political importance.

As seen in ch.12, Reiner is easily triggered or riled up by very specific sensitive subjects. He'll be very vocal, honest and upfront about it but he will also apologize if he steps out of line. He immediately realizes that & Mikasa has been observed to be able to divert his potential anger.

Alter!Reiner, however, oh boy, that is a very tricky situation for Mikasa. There's a whole new set of challenges lies in waiting up ahead down the road. If Reiner would be very open & honest, alter!Reiner is the more silent, passive agressive type. He's like still waters with darkness and danger lurking beneath the surface. While alter!Reiner takes over her lord husband's body, Mikasa would have to tread their communication carefully. She'll be in the constant dark - not knowing to expect when or how he would pull her further into his depths and drown her metaphorically.

Reiner is always a person who is very objective and logical. Sure, he can be a little bit manipulative when it comes to protecting his loved ones, however, when it comes to Mikasa, Reiner is slowly opening himself up by being honest & sincere with his wife.

In this universe, Reiner talks to her, heart to heart to ensure that both him and Mikasa are always on the same page. He understands that they are both shouldering huge responsibilities on their shoulders & they're a team.

Once in Liberio, it will be quite rare for them to have big arguments especially when they have to put up a united front. If they do, they'll do it in private. They would usually be able to meet each other halfway towards the end of their discussion. He might be the Lord of their nation but his Lady has equal rights to decide for their people's importance too.

Reiner, however, has his own weaknesses: self-depreciation & self-sabotaging tendencies. This will frustrates Mikasa a lot but it is their shared growth pains in their relationship.

However, any progress in their marriage will have to face a sudden concrete wall whenever Reiner's extreme self-depreciation tendencies get triggered and his alter holds the reign to his psyche. This alter avoids her like the plague, refuses to communicate & is absolutely making it difficult for their marriage to work smoothly. Mikasa would find herself being in a state of mental purgatory, which would be really ugly but this woman is also not one to be taken lightly. She will sooner learn how to breath under his deep, dark waters.

Mikasa is a physically strong woman but she is also the most vulnerable one emotionally, especially after the traumatic incident with Eren at Niccolo's eatery. But she has made a silent promise on her mother's name that she would not give up on her husband, no matter how hard he pushes her away.

Reiner will find himself growing more passionate towards his wife BUT he also feels he does not deserve to be jealous when he sees other men (especially those with political importance) trying to be extra friendly with his wife in order to win her favor as the East Sea's lady of authority. More often, he would repress his jealousy.

Alter!Reiner, however has a different idea when it comes to unearthing those repressed feelings. What Reiner could not convey, he will express it & that will manifest with the way he acts out on his grievances. (This will be explored further in another R20 post if you know what I mean 😳)

Mikasa would always be the calm one but alter!Reiner will force her to fight his fire with her fire. A litle bit of burning flames is healthy in a union between man and wife. But what happens when it gets a little bit too much?

Mikasa will go through her own mental gymnastics when it comes to accepting Reiner's duality. She will feel that she's married to two different men who share the same body. One who can't get enough of her and one who can't even stand her. She will have to find the point of balance between Reiner's personas.

Making Up

Reiner and Mikasa would discover that hugging things out before potential arguments take place is a good crisis aversion strategy. But, when it comes to these two, they tend to have that inexplicable spark whenever they touch. Therefore, very often their making up turns into making out (sometimes heavy petting and a quickie) *cough* They're married! 🤷‍♀️

Reiner also leaves peace offerings like a single violet or a bouquet of wildflowers on her nightstand after they argued or take her out on a night walk in Liberio's streets or just stargazing on the rooftop of his mother's house.

Alter!Reiner has a little bit of ego and resistance, so they tend to have an awkward conversation after the fallout of a fight. Yes, when Reiner and Mikasa debate to settle their differences, alter!Reiner tends to rile Mikasa up into a more physical altercation in private. No one will get hurt physically as Mikasa will always hold her own immense strength back with him, but it is not pleasant. Their relationship will evolve into another level, however, when a third person is trying to get in between them. Alter!Reiner would unleash the more possessive and territorial side of him. Things will change (for better or worst is yet to be known) as he learns that there's a really fine thin line that stands between lust and hate: love. He will discover that he has finally find his match in this woman - physically, mentally and sexually. Alter!Reiner's version of peace offering will be using Falco & Gabi as messengers because yeaps, his ego, heh.

I've shared more of ReiKasa's detailed Modern AU sexcapades in this post and for this Ask, I'll explore the different preferences involved in their sex life. Based on this post, Reiner & Mikasa had a 10-dates rule before they actually become intimate with each other and that post describes briefly on their phenomenal sexual compatibility. Before they reach that 10th date goal, they decided to keep all their interactions chaste, which only adds up to the building sexual tension between them. These two has a spark that ignites from just a single touch. Therefore, it had been a truly challenging period for them to keep their magnetic pull in check.

When they were in high school, they've only ever held hands but has never even kissed. Reiner was raised to be a respectful gentleman and he's always letting Mikasa takes the lead. He waited until she was ready to get a little bit more physical with him, thus why he suggested the 10-DR. So when did they have their first real kiss?

On their 10th date.

First Time

Their first time with each other had been a literal afternoon delight. Mikasa missed out on their 10th date night because of an on-call emergency at the med centre, so they made up with a lunch date the next day. Sure, they've been clawing at each other's clothes from outside the car to his front door and had never even made it to his bedroom but they really made full use of his coffee table and his couch. If only those furnitures could talk, they would tell you very interesting stories that took place on that day.

Bedroom Jams

Reiner and Mikasa do not have a particular preferred soundtrack running in the background while they're getting down and dirty. But, they'd always have Linger by Cranberries or The Root's You Got Me to set them in the mood for some slow-dancing before revving up their engines for their inevitable sexy times.

One time, Reiner had jokingly put Boyz II Men's I'll Make Love To You on in the bedroom. Mikasa changed it immediately to The Devil in I by Slipknot. It felt like an out of body experience the whole time.

Reiner likes to do this little striptease dance to 90's boyband songs just to drive Mikasa up the wall 🤣 One time, he wanted to surprise Mikasa from work & started grinding against her booty with his sexy moves as soon as she crossed their living room, completely not realizing that his mother had also walked through the door as his wife had picked Karina up for dinner at their house. He got an earful from his own mother 😳

Sexting & Surprises

Reiner loves sending sexy text messages to Mikasa when she's at work or when he's away in Marley for work meetings. The nature of her work demands her to be on-call or be at work in longer shifts, therefore, his texts make her misses him even more. Mikasa would not admit it out loud but his naughty texts do get her in the mood to make a lot of love to him when she gets home 😏 Before someone asks, no, Reiner does not send his wife dick pics haha

Reiner is also the type who'd surprises her from a long night shift in the morning by making her breakfast in the kitchen with nothing but an apron on. Yeah, Mikasa had a good eyeful (and mouthful) of his buns alright *wink* Reiner would also surprise her with a hug from behind when she's doing meal preps in the kitchen BUT Mikasa would be the one slipping her hand in his pants while he's doing the dishes. These two really do love getting kinky in the kitchen.

Gabi accidentally walked in on them one time and poor girl was mentally scarred, she locked herself in her room the whole night.

Favorite Positions

Despite having athletic bodies and fit figures, Reiner and Mikasa do not experiment with odd, bizarre positions as much. Their favorite position is either tantric or golden arch as they love locking gazes while whispering their undying affection for each other (+more dirty-talking from Reiner!)

But when they're in the mood for a more rough loving, all fours in front of a mirror or standing/sitting wheelbarrow would be their favorite positions for them considering his superb upper body strength and her amazing flexibility (Reiner has those weekly yoga routines of hers to thank for!)

Dirty-talking

Reiner likes to do this a lot (even in public) that it'll always make Mikasa goes multiple shades of red. His dirty-talkings are adorable and dorky but although Reiner's very alert when reading the room, he also tends to forget in switching off his dirty-talking mode once he's in the mood.

One time, he was calling Mikasa when he's away for work training. She was driving and had him on speaker. He was feeling a bit frisky and told her flat out - he can't wait to come back home, get inside the showers with her and ram into her so hard that she can't walk straight that his Dr. Ackerman-Braun need to take sick leave for 2 days. Things went still and quiet from Mikasa until he heard Annie's voice from the other end.

Annie : Ram her with what, Reiner? Your 3-inch dick?

Reiner: Screw you, Annie.

Annie: Gross and hey, Armin's already doing a bang up job in screwing me. Besides, you don't need to worry about Mikasa missing you. I just bought her this brand new vibrator.

Reiner: Totally ignoring you, Annie. Mika, c'mon babe, you know the real deal's so much better.

Mikasa: Rein--

Reiner: I made you come three times before I leave. You don't need that thing right? Can you hold on until I get back, baby, please?

Turns out Pieck and an already traumatized Gabi were also in the car with Mikasa at that time. Reiner avoided showing his face in front of the two women and his own cousin for the next 2 months.

As mentioned, that wasn't the first time Gabi had such TMI of her cousin and his wife's sex life. Apart from walking in on Reiner and Mikasa in the kitchen, the couple had terrified her enough for life when she also walked into them doing the deed inside their own living room (They either forgot Gabi was staying the night or had thought she was asleep) Gabi never wanted to be near that couch ever again.

Public Sexcapade

They had a quickie in Grisha's basement during one family dinner with the Jeagers. Zeke almost walked in on them.

Reiner also owns a pickup truck. He likes to take Mikasa out for a night drive. He'll have the back boot of his truck all nice with warm covers and they'll park somewhere private uphill to stargaze. They'll make love underneath the stars in the open air and just hold each other afterwards. Mikasa loves to listen to Reiner as he tells her about his favorite constellations.

Body Appreciation

When Mikasa's body starts to grow when she's carrying their twins, Reiner develops a much higher level of appreciation towards her body because of the changes she's going through. Obviously he appreciates the tremendous increase of her cup size, but he notices every other parts of her that swells beautifully with every week of her pregnancy too. As shared in this pregnancy post, Mikasa had the upper side of her hormonal changes that Reiner was the one who's constantly be worrying that he'll poke the babies in their heads every time she gets in her special mood 😂 see, he's so adorkable!

Sneaky playtime(s)

Reiner & Mikasa would always have a burning fire in their marriage even as they grow older. The twins were not spared from the traumatizing knowledge of their parents' extracurricular activities, when they overheard their parents from outside their bedroom door one Sunday morning.

Miraé: Rémy, are Mama & Papa fighting? She said the F word to Papa. Oh, Papa said he's coming? To where?

Rémy: Jesus, Miraé. They're having sex.

Miraé: What's that?

Rémy: Aunt Gabi told me to stay away if we ever hear weird noises coming from Mama & Papa's bedroom because it means they're having their adult playtime.

Miraé: Let's just go next door and ask Uncle Armin & Aunt Annie about it.

If As You Are is my most treasured chronicles, The Soulmates Series is my go-to comfort series. This is because I can feature any characters from the original source material - dead or alive - and just wing them all in Modern AU because it can be safely affirmed by now that SnK High School Caste AU was the canon all along. I can write Kuchel and Levi raising Mikasa with Kenny, where the Ackermans are actually a secret mafia family under the witness protection program haha

The Soulmates Series (TSS) makes a light-hearted reading set in a high school setting that can be enjoyed after a long day, but sprinkled with a healthy dose of teenage drama and tooth-rotting sugary goodness. There's just an endless number of shenanigans homegirl Goth!Mikasa and homeboy Jock!Reiner can get into, with many hilarious consequences. Whenever I write a new part of TSS, it induces a very fuzzy feeling deep within - and I sooner come to realize that it was dopamine all these while. I'm addicted to it by now 🌞 so, The Soulmates Series is my most fave because of the flexibilities it offers!

🎤fave line in a fic you wrote?

I'd have several but my most favorite one of all would be the following line from Reiner that he declared in front of Levi, Hange, Jean, Connie & Armin from As You Are's ch.9 :

“I apologize for everything I have caused under the name of Marley. My apologies would not change the actions of my past but I humbly promise to spend the rest of my life atoning for the sins I have done with God and my wife, the Lady Mikasa as my witness.”

The primary reason why it's my favorite line is because, while his wedding vows had been made under duress and in a way, unwillingness, the above line was Reiner's first vow that came sincerely from his heart - although it's not in front of his bride. Wait, it was made in front of his bride! How could I forget that Mikasa was there ;A; But she was still not trusting him.

But those words are genuine which he shared with Levi and Hange, people who are as close to Mikasa's parents that he could get. (LeviHan's bond with Mikasa as her pseudo parental figures is also an aspect I'd love to explore in the near future chapters).

In a way, Reiner, was asking for his "in-laws", their blessings and pledging his loyalty to their "daughter" or ward (right in front of his reluctant bride). Considering both Levi & Hange had threatened him at blade point on his neck in Shinganshina four years before, it was very apparent that Reiner really is putting his life (and his manhood) on the line here 🤣. Warrior!Reiner will always be wholesome in my eyes and in my kokoro. Wtf was that in 139's end panel???

To which Levi later responded with, "Maybe married life suits you well, after all, Braun." This was Levi giving the former Armored holder his blessings as Mikasa's remaining kin. (I always believe Ackermans & Brauns are meant to be families in any universes 🤫)

Levi and Reiner vibing as father-son duo in all my crafted worlds is just 💯

Hello Anonie! 🥰 Jealous!Mikasa is bound to resurface. However, this jealousy would not be as awkward or as unwarranted as compared to when she was younger (like the post-uprising jealousy). One thing that you can expect from Mikasa & Reiner in AYA is, they each think that they do not have the right to be jealous towards each other. That is also their insecurity 🤣 Their courting only happens after they got married and a lot of misunderstandings are bound to occur in the near future. It's a learning process with a lot of growing pains for these two young adults.

The light side of being jealous for ReiKasa is that they'll process it through the very first way they know: smex (and talking of course, but that'd usually happens later after they've dispelled that excess intense emotions physically *ahem* pillowtalk haha) youngblood! I mean, young love 😳

Their insecurity & jealousy, apart from his alter, would be the interpersonal issues in ReiKasa's marriage that they would both need to work on together. But trust me on this: the journey towards the end will be worth it 😉

They have been granted a fixed residence inside the Azumabito compound in Marley's town (the same one that was referenced in Maria) BUT despite not being close to Karina, Reiner still wants to stay with his mum because she'll be by herself if he moves out & he'd want to spend the remaining time he still has left being close to his family. (But first, that one single bed in Reiner's room has got to go. He alone can't even fit in it! Lord Takeshi will be horrified to see the current state of Reiner's room 😆 That is not even a decent bachelor's pad. Do you remember that scene in ep.2 i checked, it was ep. 3! Ugh Karina can be insensitive) The Hizurian folks will have to do some home improvements first!

Abso-positive-lutely! 😆 Mikasa will help Gabi who wants to plan a surprise birthday celebration for Falco. But Reiner is going to be one step ahead to include Mikasa's birthday as well. Mikasa (this woman had never celebrated before, so she had even forgotten her own birth date) is going to be shook. 2 months later, they will celebrate Gabi's birthday. As for Reiner's, he would have the best birthday gift not only that year but in his life ever. Not one, but two! 😉 Apart from that, Liberio would achieve an independence state status & there will be a National Independence Day. We'll find out when in the future chapters!

"🧑 Favorite character to write?"

The first question seems very simple, but actually very, very challenging to answer. I'd absolutely say it's a tie between my two biases; Reiner & Mikasa. But if I have to choose, I'd say hands down would be Mikasa; even more so after reading what her own creator delivered as her ending. As if it's not enough that he just confirmed that Mikasa, a complex yet amazing character, had been somewhat exhausted out of her purpose (Eren) and stripped off from a more significant independence, affirming her haters' stance; when there's a lot of endless possibilities for her, especially as one of the female leads. Alas, we had to witness such conclusion of hers.

I've always enjoyed writing her more, expanding on & exploring her possibilities. She's a simple girl, but I truly feel that she has experienced a lot of growth during those 10 years, learning to open herself up to more people besides Eren and Armin. In all of my fan works, I'd want to see her in those endless possibilies that was never meant for her to seize in the source material 😫 She is compassionate, brave and I hope to continuously explore the strength that she could have had emotionally & psychologically in any universes possible.

I'd love to share the following excerpt from Infinity's upcoming ch.3:

He felt a course of uncontrollable anger surging through his veins, as if an invisible scar on his chest was forced open and he was helpless as it began to bleed uncontrollably once again after that day. His vision gleamed in red. He gritted his teeth, the refined hair on the back of his neck bristled in an impulsive need to defend before he absolutely lost the last shred of patience he’s been holding against the Ragako village native. He’s had enough of Connie’s insensitive assumptions. “Fuck you!” His fist hit Connie square on his jaw. “There's never a moment that I haven't thought about her. SO NO. You're not the only who cares about Mikasa, you asshole. Just because I don't talk about her in front of anyone of you doesn't mean she meant jack shit to me!”

“Stop it you two!” Annie slammed her hands against the table, aiming to stop the unexpected ruckus between the two men. “You’re the asshole, Reiner. That wasn’t necessary.”

“I’m the asshole? Un-fucking-believable!” The nearest wooden stool became the unfortunate victim when the end of his boots met the furniture upon sudden impact, sending it zipping across the rescue tent. Everyone jolted in response at his impulsive action.

He was supposed to be the oldest of the group with the strongest control of his emotions, the last one to crack, but that day he failed gloriously. He lost it. Not when Connie’s words actually hurt because how could anyone here know about the immense guilt and pain that would never go away.

Thank you very much for the kind, lovely wishes & remembrance 💖 I've been taking advantage of the holy month to just rest and basking in older/new fandoms to switch my perspectives on writing but rest assured that I've been sneaking in at least several paragraphs a day to keep my gears running 🙏

You have an eagle eye, dear! Thank you for your interest in the Parenthood aspect of AYA & for enjoying AYA very much! No doubt, first thing that'll come to our minds would be poor baby Ymir. She's currently in Hizuru under the protection of the Azumabito family, with Levi as her primary guardian. Last in ch.13, Hange will be heading to Hizuru for her retirement. In regards to baby Ymir, we'll get to explore the parenting angle for Levi & Hange. These two retired commanding officer/special units leader will be exploring a different kind of adventure together: parenthood. We'll be seeing them raising a newborn baby as their own through all the joys, tears and bittersweet moments of parenting they never gotten beyond their mentoring of the SC's elite members (JCAM). Can you imagine Levi and Hange co-sleeping with the baby and actually fought the nursemaid over feeding/changing baby Ymir? 🤣 in my AUs, LeviHan deserve to be someone's dad and mum together and that is my tribute to this beautiful OTP of mine.

Meanwhile, for our main couple, ReiKasa's parenthood will be unfolding in 2 stages in AYA. We just concluded ACT I with ch.13.5, where we're already able to see the strengthening bond between Mikasa & Gabi. Gabi is already taking a stand in protecting Mikasa from Reiner's alter. In Act II, we'll see more of this relationship as Gabi & Mikasa's bond draws a parallel with Sasha & Mikasa's sisterhood (heavily referenced in Maria). Reiner himself will be exploring a more laidback bond with the Grice brothers. Especially now that the Warriors Trainee program will be abolished by the Marley government under the new General, Magath's directives. Falco and Gabi are now normal children, having to enrol in formal non-military academics and just being normal tweens again.

Apart from that, in Act II, we will see Karina slowly but surely realizing her errors as a mother and will attempt to make amends with her son. She found her redemption in canon's 139 & I'd like to include that moment in AYA in the course of several months after Reiner and Mikasa's wedding day, especially when she learns of Mikasa's true origins. That deep-rooted indoctrinated hatred will take time but is possible to be removed gradually.

In Act III, we'll eventually get to see the long-awaited part of ReiKasa's true parenting: with their own flesh and blood. The journey of them getting there will be addled with challenges and near ends of their marriage through an almost untimely death. Both Reiner & Mikasa will experience growth as individuals and as a married couple in Act II. They need to become a stronger unit before they're able to raise another human being. The geo-political situation and Reiner's underlying psychological issues will not be making things convenient for these two either. There'd be a million reasons for Mikasa & Reiner to go their separate ways but they'd only ever needed one good reason for them to stay together. Oh yes, we'll absolutely be seeing a pregnant Mikasa! (We are definitely getting our Marleyan + Eldian + Ackerman + Hizurian babies' growth in this universe ✊🏼)

It's almost like the world is saying,

"Stop separating, you are meant to be together."

The above excerpt reminds me so much of ReiKasa in canon or AU which will be presented in AYA. We will see their roles growing from reluctant husband and wife to accepting then back to reluctant and eventually as loving soulmates & parents. This is one of my offered remedies for SnK 139 🥲 (These two make so much perfect sense together & seeing them having a canon ending like that hurts me so much) I look forward to pen all that and more!

I loved AYA too and it got me into Reikasa ❤️ Thank you for writing such a masterpiece. You said there will be 3 arcs and the first has finished, so the story will have around 40-60 chapters? I wondered, the curse was lifted so the shifters managed to live beyond their expected lifespan and now they have a normal life (manga), this might be a spoiler for AYA and prob we’ll have to wait and see but do the shifters in AYA will live a long life or die young? In regards to your first question, as for now, I'm estimating the number of chapters before its conclusion to be between 35-50. This is because although the primary spotlight would be on ReiKasa, we'll also be seeing more of AruAni and JeanPieck's stories apart from LeviHan's, in which the story will spread all throughout Paradis, Hizuru & Liberio, Marley. Each pairing will face their own challenges and I hope to explore more on that ✊🏼

Moving on to their lifespan, when AYA first began I always had the envisioned progress of having the time limit lifted along with the titan powers but the characters don't really know that yet. They're all very much like sitting on a bomb that's been defused but the timer's still moving. It's anyone's guess whether they'll still be alive after the clock reaches zero 🙈 Because in canon, we all were given the privilege of another timeskip, which confirmed they will live had lived beyond their time limit. We'll definitely see them all living well in the long years ahead but the characters are not aware of this fact yet at this point, so we can see a lot of uncertainties and anxiety being faced by all the former shifters in AYA🙏We'll discover that more in Act II :3
