trying to make a list of 70’s to early 80’s proto-yuri, if anyone knows about other works please lemme know so I can add them ^_^

I grabbed the summaries off of manga ookoku, except for umibe no cain and maya no souretsu, which are from Wikipedia and mangadex respectively

“aries no otometachi” (1973) - satonaka machiko

-Kubo Emiko and Mizuho Romi are two girls born under the Aries sign. Emiko is an earnest and innocent girl who grew up with gentle parents. On the other hand, Romi, who was raised by her fashion designer mother, has a fierce temper. Emiko admires Takashi from the equestrian club, but when she meets the strong and beautiful Romi, she gradually becomes attracted to her. Is this excitement... love?

-Kaoru, a poor girl and Reiko, the daughter of a wealthy family are on good terms and attend Aisei Girls' Academy together. -May, a high school student, is an ordinary girl who admires Kido from the soccer club. While she was watching Kido as he practice in the schoolyard as usual, a ball suddenly flew into her face! Thanks to this, May was able to make contact with the boy she loves, but at the same time, Misaki, who was wandering around the school in casual clothes, calls out to her as "Maya."

“kurenai ni moyu” (1979) - fukuhara hiroko

-Suzuna* went to a shrine to see the double cherry blossoms in full bloom on her way home from school. However, she gets tangled up with the biker gang that was hanging out there and is about to be taken away when she is rescued by Sarasa*, who happens to be passing by. Suzuna is immediately captivated by the sight of this gallant knight on a motorcycle, with her swaying red hair and feminine gestures. After that, Suzuna and Sarasa hit it off, but as they continue to be chased by biker gang members, a major incident involving the two develops...!!

Misono becomes interested in Ryuko, and Ryuko is also attracted to Misono's purity, but...

-A horror story, in which the main character and her family go to their summer house for vacation and people start dying one by one. The twist is that the main character, Reina, is falling in love with her mysterious neighbor, Maya. But who is Maya really, and how does she know so much about Reina's family?

“umibe no kain” (1980) - kimura minori

-One day, Sano*, a fashion designer who lives in a beach town, meets Nobuko*. Sano casually invites her to her home and gives her a ticket to an exhibition on the way home. At the exhibition, Sano feels as though she lost to a more popular designer, but Nobuko says she prefers her designs. On the way home, Nobuko confesses her troubles about not being able to dress femininely. Since she lives alone, they meet often and talk about various things. As Nobuko confides in and receives advice from Sano, she begins to develop feelings for her.

New Trailer Announces Yuri Anime ‘Adachi and Shimamura’ Will Premiere in October

On Friday, a second trailer for the upcoming anime adaptation of Adachi and Shimamura (Adachi to Shimamura) was uploaded to the anime’s official website. The trailer announced that the anime would premiere in October 2020 in Japan.

Adachi and Shimamura is the anime adaptation of Hitoma Iruma’s popular light novel Yuri series of the same name. It follows the titular characters, both high school delinquents, and their friendship as it develops into a budding romance.

The anime stars Akari Kitou as Adachi and Miku Itou as Shimamura. The two sing the anime’s opening theme “Kimi ni Aeta Hi” together. Additional cast members include Manami Numakura, Iori Saeki, and Reina Ueda.

The anime is produced at Tezuka Production and will be directed by Satoshi Kuwabara (Dagashi Kashi 2). The script is by Keiichirou Ohchi and Mayumi Morita, and the character designs are by Shizue Kaneko (Lost Song).

Adachi and Shimamura is one of the most popular Yuri series in Japan. The light novels originally began serialization in 2012, and eight volumes have been released to date. The series spawned two manga adaptions, one of which is currently serialized in Monthy Comic Dengeki Daioh.

The light novels are licensed for English release by Seven Seas Entertainment. The first volume is currently available digitally, with a planned print release in June.

SHIKIMORI’S NOT JUST A CUTIE

Commedia romantica tratta dal manga intitolato “Kawaii dake ja Nai Shikimori-san”, scritto e illustrato da Keigo Maki.

Fa la sua comparsa la definitiva "fidanzata rubacuori"! La sfortunata liceale Shikimori è la fidanzata di Izumi, suo compagno di classe. Lei è sempre sorridente e ha una personalità sgargiante, sembra sempre felice quando si trova con Izumi. È carina, gentile e una fidanzata affettuosa, ma quando Izumi se la vede brutta... diventa una ragazza davvero stilosa! La carina e piena di stile Shikimori, Izumi e i loro amici ci porteranno un sacco di divertimento! Questa commedia romantica al 1000% preziosa inizia ora!

L’adattamento è diretto da Ryota Ito (My Senpai Is Annoying) presso lo studio DOGA KOBO (Asteroid in Love, Sing “Yesterday” for Me).

Come assistente alla regia troviamo Shohei Yamanaka (direttore d’episodio in Dropout Idol Fruit Tart), mentre la sceneggiatura sta venendo supervisionata da Yoshimi Narita (My Senpai Is Annoying). Il character design, invece, è curato da Ai Kikuchi (New Game!, How heavy are the dumbbells you lift?).

THE DAWN OF THE WITCH

Avventura fantasy tratta dalla nuova light novel firmata firmata da Kakeru Kobashiri, intitolata “Mahoutsukai Reimeiki”. 

L’anime ci riporterà nel mondo magico di di “Zero kara Hajimeru Mahou no Sho” (Grimoire of Zero), ma questa volta la serie sarà realizzata da TEZUKA PRODUCTIONS (Girlfriend, Girlfriend, Adachi to Shimamura).

Non ricordo. Chi sono? Cosa sono? Seville è uno studente dell'accademia di magia che non ricorda nulla prima del suo ingresso nella scuola. Non sapendo perché si trovi lì, il tempo passato all'accademia lo percepisce come vuoto e privo di sennso. E dato che non sa come impegnarsi a fondo, i suoi voti sono sempre tra i più bassi  ogni anno. Però, un giorno, il rettore della scuola, Albus, ordina a Seeville di partecipare a un'attività speciale d'addestramento. "Voglio che tu sparga l'uso della magia in un'area in cui è in vigore la caccia alle streghe". Sono passati solo cinque anni dalla fine della guerra tra chiesa e streghe, ma ancora il mondo non ha accettato del tutto le streghe e la loro magia. È l'alba dell'era delle streghe. È la storia di un ragazzo che non era nessuno di speciale e dei suoi compagni, ognuno segnato in qualche modo, mentre percorrono una strada che li porterà a trovare se stessi.

A dirigere l’adattamento c’è Satoshi Kuwabara (Adachi to Shimamura, The Quintessential Quintuplets), che si occupa anche di supervisionarne la sceneggiatura. Alla scrittura partecipano anche Mayumi Morita (Dagashi Kashi 2, Girlfriend, Girlfriend) e l’autore stesso della novel. Il design dei personaggi, invece, sta venendo curato da Reina Iwasaki.

TOMODACHI GAME

Serie diretta da Hirofumi Ogura (Cells at Work! Lavori in Corpo, Null Peta), tratta dall’omonimo manga a tema survival game, nato dalla mente di Yuki Sato.

Il liceale Katagiri Yuichi, che reputa l'amicizia la cosa più importante, ama condividere la sua vita con i suoi amici più stretti Sawagiri Shiho, Mikasa Tenji, Shibe Makoto e Kokorogi Yutori.

Comunque, dopo un incidente, si ritrovano invischiati in un crudele gioco.

L'unico modo per vincere il "Tomodachi Game" è non dubitare dei propri amici. Legati tra loro da un profondo vincolo d'amicizia, dovrebbe essere cosa facile, ma...

Il famoso manga di cui sono state vendute due milioni di copie sta per diventare un anime. Crederanno o tradiranno i loro preziosi amici? La natura umana è sotto i riflettori in questo gioco psicologico!

L’adattamento sta venendo prodotto presso lo studio OKURU TO NOBORU (The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter, Planetarian: Snow Globe) e a curarne la sceneggiatura troviamo Kenta Ihara (Saga of Tanya the Evil, Tsukimichi -Moonlit Fantasy-). Il character design è affidato a Satomi Miyazaki, mentre le musiche sono firmate da Michiru (Given, Ascendance of a Bookworm).

AOASHI

Nuova serie sportiva targata PRODUCTION I.G (Haikyuu!! L’asso del volley, Fena: Pirate Princess), basata sull’omonimo manga a tema calcistico di Yugo Kobayashi.

"Ti porterò nel mondo".  Ashito Aoi è un alunno delle medie che vive a Ehime ed è l'asso di un club di calcio. Il giorno in cui perde la finale del torneo della scuola, Ashito si trova preda della frustrazione, prima di incontrare un uomo  che ha guardato la partita. Si chiama Tatsuya Fukuda ed è l'allenatore dei "Tokyo City Esperion FC", squadra giovanile di liceali. Dopo aver scorto il potenziale nascosto di Ashito gli parla di ciò a cui ambisce. "Voglio fondare una squadra, e usarla per prendere il mondo". La nostra squadra non vuole essere la rampa utilizzata dai giocatori per raggiungere il mondo. Vogliamo essere il mondo. Per riuscirci, devo poter allenare dei campioni.  Dopo aver ascoltato la proposta di Fukuda, Ashito decide di andare a Tokyo e guardare la squadra. Aoashi è considerato il top del manga sul calcio e finalmente sta per diventare un anime!

La regia della serie è affidata ad Akira Sato (Release the Spyce) e della sceneggiatura si sta occupando Masahiro Yokotani (Free!, All Out!!).

Come direttori d’animazione sono messi in campo Manabu Nakatake (Sket Dance), Toshie Kawamura (Karneval), Asuka Yamaguchi e Saki Hasegawa, che curano anche il character design con l’assistenza di Naho Seike, Yukiko Watabe, Miho Daidouji e Eisuke Shira. Le musiche, invece, sono composte da Masaru Yokoyama (Taiso Samurai, Farewell, My Dear Cramer).

SPY x FAMILY

Attesissimo adattamento della popolare spy comedy firmata da Tatsuya Endo (Tista, Gekka Bijin), edita in Italia da Panini Comics sotto l’etichetta Planet Manga. 

L’anime è frutto di una produzione congiunta fra WIT STUDIO (Ousama Ranking, L’Attacco dei Giganti) e CLOVERWORKS (Horimiya, Shadows House).

Chiunque ha un lato nascosto che non mostra agli altri.

In un tempo in cui tutto il mondo è intento in una guerra di informazioni, nelle ombre, Ostania e Westalis si trovano ad affrontare una guerra fredda da decenni.

La sezione Eastern-Focused Division (WISE) dei servizi segreti di Westalis Intelligence Services' Eastern-Focused Division (WISE) ha inviato una sua abile spia, nome in codice Twilight, per una missione segretissima atta a investigare sulle azioni di Donovan Desmond, presidente del Partito di Unità Nazionale, che minaccia il trattato di pace tra le due nazioni.

La sua missione è chiamata "Operation Strix."

"Twilight" prende l'identità di uno psichiatra, Loid Forger, e inizia a cercare chi formerà con lui una famiglia. Ma Anya, la figlia che ha adottato, si scopre essere in possesso della capacità di leggere la mente altrui, mentre sua moglie Yor è un'assassina! Ognuno di loro ha i propri interessi e vuole tenerli nascosti, iniziano dunque a convivere mentre tengono segrete le proprie vere identità, anche tra loro.

La pace del mondo è ora nelle mani di questa novella famiglia, imbarcata in un'avventura colma di sorprese.

La serie è diretta da Kazuhiro Furuhashi (Dororo, Hunter x Hunter) e il character design è curato da Kazuaki Shimada (The Promised Neverland, Mahou Shoujo Nante Mouiidesukara). Le musiche per la colonna sonora, invece, sono realizzate dalla band (K)NoW_NAME (Dorohedoro, Sakura Quest).

A COUPLE OF CUCKOOS

Commedia romantica basata su “Kakkou no Iinazuke”, il nuovo manga di Miki Yoshikawa, l'autrice di “Yamada-kun e le 7 streghe”.

La serie è attualmente in lavorazione presso gli studi SHIN-EI ANIMATION (Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san, Those Snow White Notes) e SYNERGYSP (Taishou Otome Otogibanashi, The 8th son? Are you kidding me?).

Scambiato alla nascita e cresciuto in un'altra famiglia, il liceale Umino Nagi incontra finalmente i suoi genitori biologici. Il giorno del loro incontro, incontra Amano Erika, un'alunna di un prestigioso liceo. Si trova a essere quasi forzato a fingere di essere il suo ragazzo, per evitarle di dover sposare il suo  fidanzato... non solo si tratta dei due infanti scambiati alla nascita, ma finiscono per essere legati tra loro! I genitori di entrambi accettano la relazione e i due iniziano a vivere insieme. Nagi è innamorato della sua compagna di classe Segawa Hiro e Erika vuole ribellarsi a suo padre e i due decidono dunque di non legarsi davvero sentimentalmente. Questa caotica commedia romantica sta per iniziare!

A supervisionare l'adattamento c'è Hiroaki Akagi (Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san, Those Snow White Notes), mentre la regia è affidata a Yoshiyuki Shirahata (direttore d'episodi in Great Pretender e Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle). La sceneggiatura è curata da Yasuhiro Nakanishi (Kaguya-sama: Love is War, Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun), mentre il character design è ad opera di Aya Takano (Himouto! DANCE DANCE DANSEUR

Drama a tema danza prodotta dallo studio MAPPA (Re-Main, Jujutsu Kaisen, Yuri!!! on Ice), ispirato all’omonimo manga di Asakura George (Piece of Cake, Cuori Colpiti). 

Danseur noble, un ballerino che ha ottenuto la parte del principe. Il liceale del secondo anno Murao Junpei è sempre stato affascinato dalla danza, ma vi ha rinunciato dopo la morte del padre perché doveva diventare un uomo. Un giorno si trasferisce, però, nella sua scuola la bellissima Godai Miyako. Miyako si accorge dell'amore di Junpei per il balletto e gli propone di danzare con lei. Insieme a Mori Ruou, cugino di Miyako, inizia la sua carriera come vero danzatore, col sogno di diventare il più grande: il Danseur noble! Solo chi ha sacrificato tutto può ergersi nel meraviglioso e duro mondo della danza classica. Quale sarà il destino del novizio Junpei? 

Per quanto riguarda lo staff al lavoro presso gli studi , la regia dell’adattamento è affidata a Munehisa Sakai (Zombie Land Saga). La sceneggiatura è supervisionata da Yoshimi Narita (My Senpai Is Annoying, I★CHU: Halfway Through the Idol), mentre a curare il character design troviamo Hitomi Hasegawa (direttrice d’animazione in Twittering Birds Never Fly: The Clouds Gather).

3. Top 5 Characters?

boy there’s a lot that goes into that decision. we’re gonna make a rule that “is cute” doesn’t get you onto my list, so that’ll narrow it down. These are in no particular order.

5. Sayaka Miki. It’s not every day you get to watch a spunky young girl metamorph her way into utter despair, but it’s definitely worth watching when you can. brilliantly written, and you can tell he wasn’t joking when urobuchi said she was his favorite. 

4. this one isn’t an anime, but im a huge huge fan of Raymond Reddington from The Blacklist, which is a live action crime drama. He’s on the FBI’s most wanted list and runs an enormous crime syndicate, but according to dnd alignment he’s either chaotic good or true neutral, depending on how you look at it. it’s really really well done and i love it.

3. “Juicy” Yuuji Kazami, from Grisaia. every single line he has ever said is gold, and his backstory is super good. in a similar vein, makina is also great, since she starts emulating him. this counts because there is an anime, but its nowhere near as good as the visual novel. 

2. Omae Kumiko from hibike euphonium. you rarely see an anime girl that acts like a normal person, but kumiko seems very real. her awkward crush on reina and the constant sighs and bored dismissals of that guy who likes her are just too true to life. i love her.

1. What was scums wish girl’s name? Hanabi. watching her grow up and learn from her mistakes was a beautiful experience and im so proud of her. 

5. Top 5 Romantic Ships? 

Again, no specific order on these.

5. Kyoko/Mami. I really like the dynamic they had in Different Story and even though they would never be able to work it out, its nice to think about.

4. Rikki/Rin from little busters. These two are great friends and the whole series is about them growing up and learning how much they mean to each other. its beautiful and i love it.

3. its been so long since i watched angel beats but Blue Hair Guy/Girl Who Can’t Walk. I watched just the one scene where they imagine what could’ve been, and I was sobbing the whole time. 10/10.

2. Hanabi/Ecchan. I know it was super unhealthy and not good during the show, but hanabi’s grown up and is probably actually ready for a relationship now, and ecchan’s worked out her issues enough to be friends again. I like to think they could make it work. 

1. aw jeez uh, togame/shichika from katanagatari. I absolutely love them. they had great banter and were really fun to watch. i know shichika’s devotion to her was emotionless at heart and the whole thing was more superficial than either of them would ever let on, but i love them so much.

10. Character You Relate To The Most?

probably kousei arima from your lie in april? partially because i also love to play the piano and am 100% anxiety, but also i know what it’s like to be hailed as a genius and then fail to live up to expectations. 

11. Character That Inspires You?

the most inspiring show i ever watched was the Pet Girl of Sakurasou and just, every single character on there is inspiring as hell. watching it actually made me want to do my homework in college. of course i wanted to keep watching more, but like, it was very inspiring. everybody’s doing their best and it makes me want to do my best too. the main character probably inspires me the most. Kanda? is that his name?

12. Character You Can’t Understand?

lmao lets be real theres not a lot i cant understand when it comes to characters. i honestly cant think of any right now.

19. Favorite Villain?

does kyubey count as a villain? i think like, technically he does. i dunno, i tend to prefer shows where villains arent like, clearly villains, or they seem to be but arent?

probably mami tomoe. or the guy on dagashi kashi who wears sunglasses and hawaiian shirts all the time. love that guy.

The Dawn of the Witch, svelati cast e staff della serie animata

La nuova avventura fantasy firmata Kakeru Kobashiri andrà in onda dalla prossima primavera.

Il sito di “Mahoutsukai Reimeiki” (The Dawn of the Witch) si è aggiornato, svelando una prima immagine promozionale e alcuni nuovi dettagli sulla serie animata, in arrivo sulle tv giapponesi a partire da aprile 2022. 

L’anime ci riporterà nel mondo magico di di “Zero kara Hajimeru Mahou no Sho” (Grimoire of Zero), ma la nuova avventura firmata da Kakeru Kobashiri sarà realizzata da TEZUKA PRODUCTIONS (Girlfriend, Girlfriend, Adachi to Shimamura).

A dirigere l’adattamento c’è Satoshi Kuwabara (Adachi to Shimamura, The Quintessential Quintuplets), che si occupa anche di supervisionarne la sceneggiatura. Alla scrittura partecipano anche Mayumi Morita (Dagashi Kashi 2, Girlfriend, Girlfriend) e l’autore stesso della novel. Il design dei personaggi, invece, sta venendo curato da Reina Iwasaki.

La guerra che ha infuriato tra la Chiesa e le Streghe per cinque secoli si è finalmente conclusa e da qualche anno regna ormai la pace. Tuttavia, annidate nei luoghi oscuri del mondo, le braci di quell'antico conflitto bruciano ancora.

Saybil è uno studente dell'Accademia Reale di Magia del Regno di Wenias che non ha alcun ricordo della propria vita precedente alla sua iscrizione. Su ordine del Preside Albus, come parte di uno speciale allenamento, parte per le regioni meridionali del continente, dove i ribelli antimagia sono ancora una forza con cui fare i conti. Ad accompagnarlo ci sono la Strega dell'Alba, Loux Krystas, che cerca la conoscenza proibita della magia primordiale contenuta nel Grimorio di Zero, la geniale Holt e l’uomo bestia di nome Kudo. Quale verità scopriranno nel loro viaggio verso sud?

La light novel ha fatto il suo debutto nell’agosto del 2018, corredata delle illustrazioni ad opera di Takashi Iwasaki, e il quarto volume uscirà in Giappone il 2 novembre.

Dall’estate 2019 ne viene serializzata anche una versione manga, disegnata da Tatsuwo, giunta finora a quattro volumi.

Yuri Anime ‘Adachi to Shimamura’ Releases First Promotional Video, Announces Staff

A new promotional video for the upcoming television anime adaption of Hitoma Iruma’s Adachi to Shimamura was uploaded to the project’s official website on December 26. The video announced the anime’s staff and new cast members. It is scheduled for release in 2020.

The anime is produced at Tezuka Production and will be directed by Satoshi Kuwabara (Dagashi Kashi 2). The script is by Keiichirou Ohchi and Mayumi Morita, and the character designs are by Shizue Kaneko (Lost Song).

Additional staff is as follows:

The trailer also revealed additional cast members Manami Numakura, Iori Saeki, and Reina Ueda. Previously, the anime was announced to star Akari Kitou as Adachi and Miku Itou as Shimamura.

Adachi to Shimamura follows the relationship of title characters Shimamura and Adachi. The students begin spending time together and become friends. This relationship develops further once Adachi starts to have romantic feelings for her Shimamura.

Adachi to Shimamura is one of the most popular Yuri series in Japan. The light novels originally began serialization in 2012, and eight volumes have been released to date. Two manga adaptions have been made, one of which is currently serialized in Monthy Comic Dengeki Daioh.

The light novels are licensed for English release by Seven Seas Entertainment. The first volume will be available digitally and in print in June 2020.

La serie animata tratta dalla light novel yuri debutterà in Giappone nel 2020.

Il sito ufficiale di “Adachi to Shimamura” si è aggiornato rivelando una prima immagine promozionale, un breve trailer e maggiori dettagli sulla serie animata tratta dall’omonima light novel di genere yuri scritta da Hitoma Iruma, l’autore di “Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko”, romanzo che ha anch’esso ispirato un adattamento animato nel 2012 a cura dello studio Shaft.

Il debutto del progetto è atteso nel corso del 2020 e a dirigerlo presso Tezuka Productions (The Quintessential Quintuplets, Young Black Jack) troviamo Satoshi Kuwabara (Dagashi Kashi 2, The Quintessential Quintuplets), affiancato alla sceneggiatura ancora una volta da Keiichirou Ohchi (The Quintessential Quintuplets, Hinamatsuri). ll design dei personaggi è invece affidato a Shizue Kaneko (How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord, Kanojo ga Flag wo Oraretara).

La storia segue due studentesse di nome Adachi e Shimamura, indugiando sul tempo che trascorrono quotidianamente assieme, parlando dei loro cibi preferiti e delle serie tv che stanno guardando, giocando a ping pong o semplicemente godendo della compagnia l’una dell’altra. Oltre ad esplorare i vari lati dell’amicizia che le lega, la serie si soffermerà sul sentimento speciale maturato nel tempo da Adachi nei confronti di Shimamura, che ogni giorno guarda la ragazza con occhi un po’ diversi .

Il romanzo ha fatto il suo debutto nell’ottobre del 2012 su Dengeki Bunko Magazine, iniziando ad essere stampato da Kadokawa, accompagnato dalle illustrazioni curate da Non, a partire dal marzo dell’anno seguente; il 10° volume dell’opera è uscito in Giappone lo scorso 10 maggio. Fra il 2016 e il 2017, Mani ha realizzato un primo adattamento manga dell’opera, raccolto in tre volumetti. Dal 25 maggio di quest’anno, invece, Moke Yuzuhara ha iniziato la serializzazione su Dengeki Daioh di una nuova versione a fumetti, i cui capitoli sono stati per ora raccolti in un primo volumetto.
