Trans joy is smiling a little brighter every Purim, because underneath all the baggage of how your deadname was used, you still like that you were originally named after Esther :)
Trans joy is nodding towards your deadname and blowing it a kiss, like something that was never going to fit you but wasn’t bad in itself
🤍!

Recommend Your Best or Favorite Books about Wicca
Hey Readers, could you please reblog this post or even send me an ask and recommend your favorite books on Wicca or the books about Wicca that you think are the best.
I'm not asking for Book reccomendations for myself, but instead I'm asking for a friend of mine. He's gone through a crisis of faith this past year, and while I'm doing my best to help him in any way I can, he's interested in looking into Wicca. I'm not Wiccan, I've never been a Wiccan, so I can't really help him with this as much as I would like to.
He's looking for books that focus less on the magical side of Wiccan practice and more focusing on the religious, spiritual, etc, aspect of Wicca. He's also Blind, so please make sure any book you recommend can be found on Kindle or in a PDF format, so he can read it.

Folklorists in 19th century England and Sweden recorded ancient pagan rituals of hanging animals in trees, in accordance with known ritual sacrifices for the Viking god Odin. The pagan rituals survived for much longer than people realise!

So Great a Salvation
Hebrews 2.1-9 How will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation? Paul has already made the case that the Son is greater…that Jesus is greater than anyone or anything. He fulfills what the OT anticipated. Every promise, prophecy, picture, symbol…you name it and Jesus fulfills it. Even the salvation that the OT pointed to finds its fulfillment in Jesus. So what is this so great a salvation?…

Vince Lombardi: Faith and discipline
“It’s easy to have faith in yourself and have discipline when you’re a winner, when you’re number one. What you got to have is faith and discipline when you’re not a winner.” —Vince Lombardi

Chose or Chosen?
For many are called, but few are chosen. (Matthew 22:14) I find myself in the midst of Christian brothers who have strong Calvinist leanings. I accept most of the five points of Calvinism to some degree – Total Depravity, Unconditional Election, Limited Atonement, Irresistible Grace, and Perseverance of the Saints (T.U.L.I.P.) – but I cannot fully embrace U, L, and I. I completely agree with T…

When God is Silent: Praying in the Words of Another
Which kind of praying is better, memorized prayers, written prayers, or extemporaneous prayers that we make up in the moment?
The first prayer that I remember praying was one I learned. It was a bedtime prayer. I don’t recall whether I learned it from my mother or someone else. It went like this: Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep. If I should die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take. To be honest, this prayer disturbed me. Up to that point, it hadn’t occurred to me that I could…

What are your thoughts on an after life? I personally like reincarnation with a little spice/waiting room area. It's weird.
Ooooooooh I think about this often, dude! I grew up super evangelical, so I believed in a literal heaven and literal hell and only one way to get to heaven. Fiery death and stuff. I definitely don't believe that. I LOVE books and media that envision alternate afterlives like Upload on Amazon or The Library of the Unwritten by AJ Hackwith or Lucifer on Netflix. As for what I actually believe in? I have no idea.
I know that we don't know. My general life philosophy these days is "Leave the world just slightly better than when you got here. You can't control anything else. Focus on your happiness and fulfillment and look out for those around you."

Who's the Greatest?
Philippians 2.1-11 Paul challenges the Philippians to pursue “we” not “me” by putting away selfishness and empty conceit and with humility of mind looking out for one another. Unity doesn’t just happen. It’s something that we have to pursue. Just like our own “knowing God more”, our walk down Torah Road. It takes intentionality. It takes practice. We will fail at it, but it’s not just about…
