#Rep Al Green
Text
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and one fellow Republican were the only House lawmakers on Monday to vote against a resolution that mourned the almost 50,000 people killed in this month’s earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.
The resolution, which praised “the work of humanitarian aid and rescue workers on the ground” and condemned “efforts by the Assad regime of Syria to exploit the disaster to evade international pressure and accountability,” passed 412-2.
Greene (R-Ga.), and Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) opposed the measure.
Tumblr media
Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.), who sponsored the earthquake resolution, said on the House floor that “to the brutal Assad regime and its backers — war criminal Putin, the authoritarian ayatollah in Iran — there will be a message: your diversion of humanitarian aid during an earthquake is despicable.”
“The U.S. Congress stands united. We will never normalize with you,” Wilson continued. “We will hold all those who attempt to normalize with you accountable, and we will not stop supporting the people of Syria to have a government they deserve based on democracy with rule of law, not authoritarians with rule of gun.”
Tumblr media
Greene, the spotlight-seeking extremist, has called for America to stop funding Ukraine’s defense against Russia’s invasion. In February, she tweeted she was “praying for Turkey and other countries suffering through deadly earthquakes.”
Massie last year voted against a bill to make lynching a federal hate crime.

The Japanese green syllid Megasyllis nipponica, is a bristle worm native from the coast of Japan, but now is know to live in coastal parts of California where is stablished. This little dance seen in the GIF have a reproductive reason, and researchers now explaing better what is happening, and you may not be prepared to this.
The brown and dancing body segment is called the stolon, which detaches from the worm in a unique reproductive process called stolonisation or schizogamy. When gonads are matured, the stolon developed a head, which even posses eyes, antennae and bristles, then the stolon can break off and swim away, to break apart to release eggs or sperm. This bizarre process continues before the stolon detaches when it develops nerves and a ‘brain’, allowing it to swim independently from the original body.

Michigan's Dearborn, that has been labelled America's Jihad Capital has been witnessing many pro-Hamas, anti-America and anti-Israel rallies.
Chants of Death to America and Death to Israel were hurled at the International Al-Quds Day rally held in Michigan on the last day of Ramadan.
"Imam Khomeini, who declared the International Al-Quds Day, this is why he would say to pour all of your chants and all of your shouts upon the head of America," Tarek Bazzi, a Michigan-based activist linked to the Hadi institute, said in a video from the rally.
The activist went on to claim that US is "one of the rottenest countries that has ever existed on this Earth," while arguing to eliminate the entire American "system."
"It’s not just Genocide Joe that has to go," Bazzi said, referring to President Biden. "It is the entire system that has to go. Any system that would allow such atrocities and such devilry to happen and would support it – such a system does not deserve to exist on God’s Earth."
When Bazzi asked his audience, when "fools" ask them "if Israel has the right to exist," they chant "Death to Israel" is "the most logical chant shouted across the world today."
The remarks were followed by chants of "Death to Israel" from protesters in the crowd. Soon after, Israeli flag was desecrated at the pro-Palestinian event held on the last Friday of Ramadan in Dearborn.
Protesters were even heard chanting "Free Palestine" and "From the river to the sea," a controversial phrase classified as "hate" by many American Jews.
Dearborn called America's Jihad Capital by WSJ
According to US media Dearborn has become a "hotbed of hate for many years, with the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) Executive Director Steven Stalinsky calling it America's Jihad Capital.
Almost immediately after... and long before Israel began its ground offensive in Gaza,' Stalinisky wrote, 'people were celebrating the horrific events of that day in pro-Hamas rallies and marches throughout Dearborn.'
The city witnessed huge protests against US President Joe Biden last month, with activists from the town encouraging Democrats to vote "uncommitted" instead of supporting the president’s re-election bid.
"This type of extremism, this type of rhetoric, this type of division … threats of violence was a Middle East thing, it seems like a lot of that was limited to the Middle East, and now it’s come to our doorstep," Rep. Phil Green told Fox News Digital
Green said the majority of Dearborn’s citizens are peaceful and don’t promote violence, but he acknowledged the movements bubbling up from the town are worth monitoring closely for lawmakers.

Honestly, I fee like a lot of Osemanverse fans treat the books rather unequally. Let me explain.
I'm going to make a ranked list of all of Alice Oseman's books/series in order from most loved to least loved (based on my observations in social media and the availability of different books). I hold no biases in this list, since I have read/watched all of them. Only observations and some opinions.
Heartstopper. I'm pretty sure most people who have heard of the Osemanverse heard about Heartstopper first. You can find elements of this series everywhere, from all the webcomic platforms like Webtoon and Tapas, to the physical books in bookstores and libraries, to reposts of favourite moments, to the piles upon piles of fan-art and, of course, to the Netflix adaptation, which had immaculate casting and has already been green-lighted for two more seasons. I think this series deserves to be high up on the list - after all, the representation is casual and exemplified in the right places, nothing feels forced, the love story is healthy, but no so perfect that it's entirely unrealistic and the characters all have their spotlight moments. However, I feel like the series sometimes overshadows the other books, which I find interesting, considering this is the only book/series that is centred around a romantic love story.
Solitaire. This is probably the most well-known YA novel for a couple of reasons. One, it is the debut novel, the one that is praised in the front cover of every other Oseman novel, with the familiar phrase 'The Cather in the Rye for the digital age', so most Osemanverse fans have heard of it. Two, it's the novel that ties in with the Heartstopper story the most, by far, especially considering that the main character of Solitaire, Tori Spring, is the older sister of Charlie Spring, one of the main characters in Heartstopper. Three, its depiction of mental health issues, particularly Tori's implied depression, is healthy, realistic and educational. Overall, it deserves the love it gets, especially considering how dark it can get compared to Heartstopper.
Radio Silence. Honestly, I think that this could be tied with Solitaire in some cases - it was, after all, the book that first introduced me to the Osemanverse. It doesn't link with the Heartstopper universe as much as Solitaire, but it does focus more on Aled Last, one of the side characters in Heartstopper, and one of Charlie's friends, although it appears that the two drift off before the events of Radio Silence. I absolutely love this book for two reasons. One, the amazing relationship between Frances and Aled, the two main characters, never goes beyond anything platonic, showing that a boy and a girl don't have to be in a romantic relationship to thrive together. Two, it's the first book in the Osemanverse that shows explicit ace rep - better yet, demi rep - for Aled, which was so nice to read even before I began questioning if I was aspec. I love the cameos it gets in Heartstopper too, especially with Aled in the same shot lol.
Loveless. I'm so mad that this book is so far down the list, but I understand that's because it's the latest one. Firstly, PLEASE READ IT!!!! It follows the first-person perspective of Georgia Warr on her journey to discovering that she is aroace. This book has done wonders for the aspec community in giving them awesome representation and increased attention from the rest of the community, because yes! we exist and yes! us being aspec doesn't mean our lives are sad and lonely and YES! not all love has to come in romantic form!!!!! The fact that Oseman was alluding to their own uni experience in this story is just so amazing! Secondly, it deserves so much more attention in the Osemanverse fandom. Oseman put her whole heart and soul into this book and we are gonna love it like it deserves!!!
I Was Born for This. And now, we come across the book with the least amount of copies sold, available in the least amount of places and talked about the least in the fandom, despite it literally being about the fandom (eyyyy). This was the only novel I had to buy because it wasn't at my library (edit: it is now but it wasn't before) and none of my friends had it, but it is so good and criminally underrated. I understand every other story has something going for it. Heartstopper has impactful rep, Solitaire is the debut novel, Radio silence has Aled and the Universe City and Loveless has aroace rep. However, this book deserves love too!!! It focuses on the chaotic mess of fandoms and the impact it can have on the* artists behind the content, because gaining fame doesn't automatically make everything better, in fact it can make thing worse, like with Jimmy's anxiety. The story also having a muslim MC is also really awesome to see, especially since I haven't read many books with prominent muslim MCs (should probs change that soon lol). Anyway, this book is so so good and you need to read it somehow aaaaaaa!
Anyway, this has been sitting in my drafts for a year now and everything beyond the *asterix has been written today, but most ideas in this still stand. Most of the low-ranked books focus on queer people just existing without the plot being carried by a love story (no hate to the latter but i would like to see more of the former too). Anyway, it's time for the post to be brought into the world, especially considering Heartstopper season 2 coming up in August (yayyy!!!).
What did we learn today, kids?
Give all of a creator's work a chance, not just the most popular one! You will discover many gems!

Little Freak
Did you dress up for Halloween? Little Freak is a sweet song, Harry is thinking about an ex and looking at the relationship with distance. It has many references to Taylor. It was written when he was in Tokyo Oct-Dec 2018. Taylor had her last Reputation concert 21 November, 2018 in Tokyo.
youtube
Little Freak was written on bad rental gear, he said it went through 19 versions before finally being on Harry's House. Ophelia is possibly written at the same time, it references Tokyo. TBSL is similar, references Taylor in a similar way, but Harry said it was written in Bath later.
To Howard Stern, Harry said if a song didn't make a previous album why would it make this one, however noted 2 songs on Harry's House are older, but they fit sonically on the album. There is another great post here.
Lyrics
Little freak, Jezebel You sit high atop the kitchen counter Stay green a little while You bring blue lights to dreams
Jezabel is possibly a reference to 'Slut!' Taylor also references this line in the opening of the Bejewelled MV "the prince would not have anything to do with that Harlot again."
Harry references kitchens in Haylor songs Sunflower Vol 6 (kiss in the kitchen), Two Ghosts (fridge light washes the room white), here it is a device to remember a calm intimacy with his muse
A Blue film is an adult film, the last line is a wet dream.
Starry haze, crystal ball Somehow, you've become some paranoia A wet dream just dangling But your gift is wasted on me
The starry haze, crystal ball is a reference to the Ready for it...? MV. Which is about Harry, he also referenced it in To be so Lonely. Ready for it also references a sexual dream "In the middle of the night, in my dreams (eh) / You should see the things we do (we do), baby" It was an impressive tour open too.
The paranoia refers to the complicated nature of their relationship (Fine Line, DBATC) he is asked about her a lot and while their songs imply they interact, they are almost never seen together so they may work hard at that.
The wet dream, just dangling, to me means unfinished business with her that he doesn't know how to resolve.
He feels her musical gifts are wasted on him, (they aren't Harry, you're the best muse)
This producer video comments on the use of a Linn drum machine as something Jack Antonoff uses on Taylor Swifts songs. (26:30)
Tumblr media
I was thinkin' about who you are Your delicate point of view, I Was thinkin' about you I'm not worried about where you are Or who you will go home to, I'm Just thinkin' about you
This verse refers to another Haylor Reputation song, Delicate, which also tells of sexual tension. However, here Harry uses the song title to flatter her and adds that he is not feeling possessive, just thinking of her.
Did you dress up for Halloween? I spilt beer on your friend, I'm not sorry A golf swing and a trampoline Maybe we'll do this again
This verse refers to Taylor and has links back to their time dating.
Taylor does dress up for halloween, like this 2014 1989-era Pegacorn. Harry and Taylor were also both in Tokyo a few weeks after Halloween
The spilt beer is often thought to be this photo of him with Karlie Kloss on a fashion persons yacht. It looks like water in front of him but I like to imagine this is it.
Blank Space MV Taylor took a golf club to a classic luxury car. Harry has many nice classic cars. In the Red era when they first dated Taylor had a trampoline on her tennis court and it also featured in the 22 MV.
in the close he asks maybe we'll do this again, I interpret that as maybe be together again one day. Olivia, WITW and Someday maybe have similar messages.
Tumblr media
Tracksuit and a ponytail You hide the body all that yoga gave you Red wine and a ginger ale But you would make fun of me, for sure
Above I have a grab from Miss American, which was filmed during the Rep tour, in most of the back stage, home or recording scenes she is wearing a variation on a tracksuit and ponytail.
Red wine and ginger ale mixed is a seltzer type drink, here it is an 'easter egg' as there are red wine references in a lot of Haylor songs: DBATC (My time, my wine..), Clean (You're still all over me like a wine-stained dress I can't wear anymore), Maroon (The burgundy on my T-shirt when you splashed your wine into me), Olivia (This isn't the stain of a red wine, I'm bleeding love) and Grapejuice ("Give me something old and red")
I disrespected you Jumped in feet first, and I landed too hard A broken ankle, karma rules You never saw my birthmark
In the last verse Harry has started reflecting on how things ended, he acknowledges he disrespected Taylor. This may refer to the time in Now that we don't talk.
Harry broke his foot playing football while on tour in Ireland in October 2015, this is close to the time period in NTWDT, Harry includes a reference to Karma, Taylors maybe album, evential song from that time period.
Harry has a birthmark on his back so many think this means he has and will never turn his back on her. (I have seen another fandom say this means they were not intimate, dude- strangers on the internet can link to it)
to me the birthmark is not literal, I think she never saw his full self because of his age & the band. He spoke to both Howard Stern and Zane Lowe about all of his adult decisions being made as part of a group from 16-20. It was in a context of leaving One Direction. To me this emotional coasting (he says he was 'away' in TBSL) was a factor in the events of NTWDT and Is it over now?
But both of these are true, he won’t turn his back on her and he wasn’t his full self then.

do you ever talk about aromantic characters/headcanons on here? completely understand if you don’t want to i’m just curious :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These are the only posts I can think of where I was talking about headcanons so fuck it I'm taking this as an opportunity to elaborate on my headcanons
The Phineas one was originally a joke until I saw the episode where they all end up in Paris and Isabella keeps trying to make a move on him and he's just utterly oblivious the whole time and that sealed the deal for me. He is so arospec to me
I headcanon Pinkie Pie as aro because I like the idea of the bubbly and outgoing character being aromantic and all she wants is to throw parties and make her friends happy which is that sort of feel good wholesome aro rep of someone who just loves their friends and hobbies. I originally headcanoned her as aroace but in the timeskip she's married to the Weird Al horse and has a kid. I like to think they're in a qpr so I can keep the aro headcanon
I really love American Idiot and the story it tells and my favorite song on the album by far is St Jimmy. And I think Jimmy is aromantic because I said so. He's a cool character and we need cool aro rep. Sure he's technically not real and also dies but still. Most of my aro headcanons are somewhat logical but not this one. This is just me liking a character and making him aromantic
Clone high JFK just makes sense to me. The original, at least (i have conflicted feelings on the reboot). I know it can come off as a negative stereotype but hear me out. He's aromantic but doesn't know the word for it and he sleeps around cause he likes sex. I don't think that headcanoning the character who sleeps around a lot as aroallo is inherently a bad thing cause he's not like cruel or disrespectful about it. He just enjoys sex and I think we should have aro characters who enjoy sex.
Willow and Hunter are on the list mainly because I saw a lot of people headcanon them as aroace who were upset about them getting together and I thought wait a minute this can be a qpr since unlike Luz and Amity they didn't have an on screen kiss or refer to eachother as girlfriend and boyfriend. And they're green + yellow which is the colors of the aroallo flag.
Just now I'm realizing that I have a lot more aroallo headcanons than aroace even though I am asexual

The House of Representatives passed a bill to establish an Office of Food Security at the Department of Veterans Affairs, with 49 Republicans voting against the proposal.
The Food Security for All Veterans Act was passed by a 376-49 vote, sending the bill to the Senate for approval.
The legislation, introduced by Democratic Rep. Mary Peltola, aims to establish a department to assist veterans facing food insecurity and lack of nutrition, such as providing them with information about food stamps and other programs.
Speaking on the House floor to advocate for what was her fist bill, Peltola said Alaska's high veteran population motivated her to push for the introduction of the department.
"There is nothing more important than ensuring our veterans and their families can enjoy a safe and healthy life after their service to our country," Peltola said.
The bill received overwhelming bipartisan support, with 49 Republicans being the only lawmakers who voted against the introduction of an Office of Food Security at the Department of Veterans Affairs, some of whom are military veterans themselves.

Global Warming Hoax Is Big Money
Those who are not cognitively challenged or pathologically gullible may find it hard to take leftist climate ideology seriously. However, the money involved is plenty serious.
Al Gore has milked the global warming hoax for a fortune:
His wild prediction at Davos that Earth faces ‘rain bombs’ and ‘boiling oceans’ is just his latest in decades of climate alarmism. At the same time, the former VP has been at the forefront of green technology investment that has seen his wealth balloon to an estimated $330 million. Four years after losing to George W Bush in 2000, Gore set up Generation Investment Management with former Goldman Sachs Managing Director and close friend David W. Blood. The mission statement of the investment firm, where Gore collects $2 million in a monthly salary, is to back companies that are making strides towards going green. The firm is worth around $36 billion.
The Goracle’s take is chump change compared to what the left-wing globalist ruling class expects us to pay to indulge their self-serving doctrine that the weather is somehow a problem and they can control it:
As Daily Signal reported last summer,
Lawmakers grilled climate czar John Kerry on Capitol Hill… Rep. Scott Perry, R-Pa., said that through much of earth’s history there was more carbon in the atmosphere than today and questioned Kerry’s statements about the exact amount of carbon that’s appropriate. “In December of 2022 you told The Washington Post we need to remove 1.6 trillion tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere via direct air capture, the direct cost for that is about $1,000 per ton or $1.6 quadrillion,” Perry said. … Kerry said he disagreed with the characterization of the issue and asked Perry why so many other countries would sign on to the reduction of carbon emissions. “Because they are grifting like you are,” Perry said.
The global warming hoax may constitute the biggest grift in the history of the world. Under liberal rule, increasingly massive amounts of wealth created by Americans will be redistributed to other countries in the name of climate reparations.
But don’t worry about the expense. If taxes don’t cover it, Democrats can just print the money.
Tumblr media
John Kerry's answer is basically......"Peasant......You aren't smart like me so you couldn't possibly understand all the reasons why you're wrong. Therefore I shall not state them."

Book Review: Travelers Along the Way (🇵🇸 Palestine)

[image 1: book cover: two figures in medieval clothing stand atop a stone archway. One has their head and face covered and wields a bow and arrow; Image 2: a map showing the Levant/Crusader States area circa 1165, including the Kingdom of Jerusalem; Image 3: a Templar-built tunnel near Akko (Acre, modern Israel); modern lighting casts yellow glow on an ancient stone tunnel with brick walls]
Travelers Along the Way: A Robin Hood Remix
Author: Aminah Mae Safi
I read this at the beginning of the year and it's taken waaay too long to review. But this was such a fun book! Let's call it a medieval comedy adventure, and I invite you to try it even if historical isn't your thing.
Rahma al-Hud and her sister Zeena are fresh from being sent away from the siege of Akko, where they were defending the city from Crusader armies. When Rahma accidentally steals the Queen of Jerusalem's horse, she finds sudden notoriety as the "Green Hood". And, well, why not take on a life of noble thievery and mischief after that? Their merry gang eventually expands to include a Mongolian horsewoman, a Jewish scientist, and a stray English chaplain, as they get up to such antics as lowering a gang of drunk unconscious Templar knights out a second-story window, to going up against Queen Isabella herself.
This was a fun historical romp that isn't afraid to be silly, while also tenderly prying open the complex relationship between Rahma and her sister. Its characters are a mishmash of faiths and cultures, with a super cute sapphic couple as well.
Genres: #adventure #historical, medieval #comedy
Other reps: #muslim #wlw #m/f #jewish #christian #interfaith
