Maserati GranTurismo Fuoriserie Ouroboros, 2023. A retro-inspired one-off concept based on the GranTurismo that combines the front grille from Pininfarina's A6GCS Berlinetta, side vents from the 3500 GT and covered round headlights in the spirit of Maserati's 1960s race cars such as the Tipo 151. The rear receives lamps in the style of the 1990s Maserati Shamal, and the wheels are inspired by the Bora magnesium wheels of the 1970s.

Swiss GP 1950: grand prix #4 in Formula 1 history

When racing in Switzerland still was a thing, Bremgarten was the place where the fourth round of 1950 season happened, on 4th June, but could be considered the third somehow, as in Indianapolis none of the usual teams or drivers entered the race. Alfa Romeo took the top-3 in qualifying with Juan Manuel Fangio, Nino Farina and Luigi Fagioli, followed by Ferrari cars of Luigi Villoresi and Alberto Ascari. Some Talbot-Lago and Maserati were well ahead of a third Ferrari, driven by Raymond Sommer.

All the three Ferraris were forced to retired due to technical reasons, with Ascari the first one, after attempting at the beginning to fight with the Alfas and ending up at some point in third behind Fangio and Farina but ahead of Fagioli. Fangio, at the beginning in the lead and later in second place behind team-mate Farina, was forced to retire too and Alfa Romeo managed to take "just" a 1/2 finish with Farina and Fagioli. Talbot-Lago took a podium with third place from Louis Rosier, while Prince Bira and Felice Bonetto, both Maserati drivers, took the last two scoring positions, fourth and fifth.

Mi sembra di essere ritornato ragazzo quando disegnavo le macchine. Avevo tirato fuori il libretto di istruzioni dell'Alfasud del nonno, sopra c'era disegnata a tratto la macchina, fronte, retro e vista laterale, mi ero messo a studiarla. L'Alfasud, fra l'altro, disegnata da Giorgietto Giugiaro, un'archistar. Quando Pasquale Ametrano guidava l'Alfasud lui non sapeva di stare guidando un pezzo di design. Una volta eravamo i re e per disegnare le macchine chiamavano noi italiani, esperti del gusto, uomini rinascimentali. Adesso le macchine sembrano gonfiate con gli steroidi, tutte uguali, senza personalità. Adesso mi piacciono le Maserati.

50 years young - Maserati Boomerang Concept, 1972, by Italdesign. Among the concepts and prototypes turning 50 this year, the Boomerang was based on the Maserati Bora (also designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro). It was only ever intended as a "dream car" and remained a one-off, in 2015 it was sold for €3,335,000 ($3.7 million)
