Hi!! I’ve been taking a break from social media! I’m back to share more astrology wiz with everyone.
But before I even get into anything, I’m gonna add some books and resources that have shaped my philosophy as an astrologer (and hopefully I can pin this to the top of my page because I’ve been getting so many messages in my absence about where I’ve learned my doctrine)
Tumblr media
1. Hellenistic astrology: The study of fate and fortune” by chris Brennan. This book will take you on a historical dive within astrology. You will learn some very useful and yet obscure ancient astrology techniques that kinda temporarily got shoved into oblivion by pop astrology.
2. On the heavenly spheres by Helena Avalar. Reading this book is what really convinced me to throw modern astrology out the window and helped me to see how “not helpful” it was. You will see how much pop astrology kind of alleviates the truth. Only get this book if you’re interested in why I have such a distain for some very questionable mainstream modern astrology information.
3. Astrology and the authentic self by Demetria George. I wanna say that this book was the very first one I read and it doesn’t prioritize the meanings of the signs. When you first get into traditional astrology you’re gonna think it’s so boring because you quickly realize that the signs get their meanings from the planets and not just from themselves. You’ll read things like “Aquarius: enemy of the sun, preferred domicile of saturn” etc. Something to take into consideration is also the amount of daylight and nighttime and that goes on during that signs time of the year, Hellenistic astrologers as I know now take meanings from that as well.
4. Ancient astrology in Theory and Practice: a manual l of traditional techniques. This book is volume one and 2.
5. The house, temples of the sky by Deborah houlding. I wanna say that this woman is my TEACHER and I LOVE this book because this book will introduce you to an ancient perspective of the houses, the very first interpretation of the houses. This book does NOT associate any of the signs with the houses as none of the ancient astrologers did and especially not the valens.
6. The astrology podcast. Go to to YouTube and search up “the astrology podcast planets” and just start writing things down. You can also type in “3 misconceptions of (insert any sign)” and Adam elenbaas will pop up, he is a certified Hellenistic astrology so prepare to learn things about your sign you never knew.
6. The most expensive resource would be to go to astrology school which is 1300$ dollars at nightlightastrology.com and is a whole course. After you get the certificate you can call yourself a “certified Hellenistic astrologer.” if this is your passion and something you wanna be doing in the long term I highly recommend.
Tumblr media
I wanna close this post out by saying that Hellenistic astrology is the oldest form of horoscopic astrology, it is the source, the OG and it is where everything we know about astrology today came from. Anything that was taken and misconstrued LITERALLY came from Hellenistic astrology.
Hope this helps xx

Lately I've been thinking about how self-hating is such a huge component of CEE identity. There's always been this shared sentiment between me and my friends, whether they were Ukrainian, Czech, Polish or other, that we were always ashamed of where we came from and uncomfortable with sharing our identity with people who were English/American/French/Spanish/German/Russian and proud. But now it's got me thinking: what exactly were those people proud of that we couldn't be? Their history is drenched with blood - colonialism, slavery, genocide, imperialism, world wars etc. more than ours. The cultures that they're so proud of are mostly relevant because they've been backed by military might and forcibly spread across the globe.
Meanwhile we've been forced to endure hundreds of years of oppression, whether by Russia or Austria-Hungary or Germany etc. They've tried to russify, magyarise or germanise us and we survived. So why, in the so-called free 21st century, are we still made to feel so ashamed of ourselves and our roots?
Because the talks about post-colonialism and inclusivity are nothing but empty virtue signaling and the world is still ruled by the old power, methinks.
And if power only comes coupled with financial prosperity, then that is what we should do. People speculate that the real reason why some NATO members are so reluctant on accepting Ukraine is because they are afraid we're going to enforce the so-called Warsaw pact countries and shift the power from Germany-France-Brinain eastwards. And, in this case, I think that's exactly what we should do. If we focus on financial and political cooperation instead of competition, we could move towards the reality where it wouldn't matter what those Western Europeans think of us. And where money go, popular culture will follow.
Btw, if you don't mind me nitpicking, but I find your usage of words "ashamed from where we came from" a great illustration of what is the root of the problem you're talking about. Shame is a social emotion, you don't feel shame unless it's been taught to you. Westerners have created this dichotomy of them being superior to us, and they have softly forced us to internalise it. Like in the nietzschean dichotomy of the slave and the master, they need us more than we need them; because without us feeling ashamed for being CEE they wouldn't be able to feel superior. But this is an illusion. A social construct. The naked king. No country is better than another (expect for russia, which is the worst). So break free and embrace everything that makes you you.

aries mercury retrograde shadow observations
the retrograde is taking place in my third house. over the past week or so ive become interested in actually learning a language again. for starters, mercury is currently trine my natal mercury in sagittarius. and its like, if your mercury is in sag, you should def pick up an extra language or two or three. i started with spanish because it was the most accessible, and then i dropped it as well. however, i still have so much spanish material to help me learn. recently i was thinking about learning other languages as well, like french or portuguesa. but i am an avid reader, and the poet in new york sitting on my bookshelf was calling my name. how fitting of it to be red. \
so as we can see, this retrograde wants me to start learning spanish again. i would definitely count it as unfinished business, as i never truly gave up on it.
aries is also the sign of initiation. im the one who has to initiate my own study materials, my own means of learning, my own means of communication, my own visibility and connections to my community. and during this retrograde i believe i will be called to refine and reassess these things.

Such a woman is indeed a great blessing – whosoever man she marries – such a man becomes Laxmikant! You see – that is how REVATI Nakshatra is – a man or a woman having maximum planets in REVATI Nakshatra will NEVER FELL SHORT OF MONEY – such a man, such a woman is blessed by Goddess Laxmi – by Revati!

I know I’m just feeling extra cunty this week but I’m so glad I started exploring spirituality with cool Marxists of a variety of faiths because new age spiritualists are some of the most incurious spiritually void people I’ve ever met

RECIPE: Me, Myself & I (from Margarita in Retrograde by Vanessa Li and Bowen Goh)
When our bartender Randall introduced the Me, Myself & I, it was a revelation: we loved the flavor profile from the strawberry sage shrub. If you’re unsure about putting vinegar in your drink, don’t worry—its acidity is balanced out by fresh strawberries here. We also love the fragrant balance afforded by the floral aperitif Lillet Blanc. The flamboyant pink and magenta color of this cocktail, as well as the bold flavors of the shrub and mezcal, match the extravagant personalities of the Broadway-headlining Leo.
Glass type: Rocks
Ingredients
1½ ounces (45 ml) Banhez Mezcal Joven
½ ounce (15 ml) Lillet Blanc or other fruity aperitif
¾ ounces (12 ml) strawberry sage shrub (instructions follow)
½ ounce (15 ml) lemon juice
Sage leaf for garnish
Directions
Pour the Banhez Mezcal Joven, Lillet Blanc, strawberry sage shrub, and lemon juice into a cocktail shaker.
Add ice and shake vigorously.
Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice.
Garnish with the sage leaf.
Making the strawberry sage shrub
First, make strawberry sage simple syrup: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine equal parts sugar and water. Add approximately 4 hulled strawberries per cup (240 ml) water. Simmer for 10 minutes, continuously stirring in circles around the edge of the pot to dissolve the sugar. Remove from the heat and stir in 15 sage leaves. Let cool completely, then strain into a glass bottle or jar. Seal tightly and store in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.
Combine 2 cups (480 ml) strawberry sage syrup, 1½ cups (360 ml) apple cider vinegar, and ½ cup (120 ml) water to make the strawberry sage shrub. Transfer to another glass bottle or jar, seal tightly, and store in the fridge for up to 6 months.

I figured out pretty quickly that the nine HOUSES were the nine PLANETS, but it took me an incredibly long time to realize that the First house is on EARTH and not freaking MERCURY.

Mercury retrograde is:
Deciding to schedule 11 posts, each with its own artist statement and link to an Insta post, to an event page on the book. But they give you the hours of the day in 15 minutes segments. You meant to schedule them every hour - 5 today and 6 tomorrow.
The book says all 11 are scheduled, it will let you see them. You can check the times.
Times are listed by hours away from now. All times for today except one say "scheduled in about an hour". That's...definitely not right. Except for the one that says "Scheduled in four hours." One of the ones for tomorrow is eight hours off from the others. You click on it to change AM to PM.
The book hasn't saved your earlier data so you don't know what one in this entire sequence this is anymore...
It is just a nameless data point floating in the sea of my head. It'll be fine. If people go to the page, they will see it.

Aaand... My crush fucked me up again 🤡 I was doing fine, I kinda had my shit together, but he had to come and revive my feelings for him with the most S. J. Tilly spicy phrase that any of his MMC could've said: "I would love for you to touch yourself and cum for me". Excuse me, Sir? Could you repeat that again, but for real and also complementing with a "I love you"?
The bastard knows and now I'll be here thinking and squeeing about him 😭
Damn astrology and its accuracy! Damn Aries man with Venus in Aries! Damn Mercury in the microwave screwing me up and my poor feelings again!

The up-regulation of alternative oxidase is an example of retrograde regulation, in which nuclear gene expression responds to changes in organellar status (Figure 12.11). (...) Taken together, these NADH hydrogenases and the NADPH dehydrogenases are likely to make plant respiration more flexible and allow control of specific redox homeostasis of NADH and NADPH in mitochondria and cytosol (see Figure 12.11). (...) Of special importance is the synthesis of ascorbic acid, a central redox and stress defense molecule in plants, by the electron transport chain (see Figure 12.11).
