(Spoilers for Curse of Strahd - as usual.)

So we went on out to Lake Bartok and ended up meeting one Esme d'Avenir, and got some pretty fucking amazing lore from her in the defunct wizard tower (we also shared our own adventures):

Yes THAT mother fucking Mordenkainen.

Settling down for the night - Vol's just not built to slav squat (the Zarovia natives are all fine, of course.)

Bombshell of the night of course is that Rictavio is one Rudolph van Richten. Turns out Mortimer knows that name from his training.... intimately.

This does explain why he turned down Milan, unfortunately.

Bard communication with a free side of sass as Osry calls van Richten out, but gets no answers. (We and Esme are all much more intent on getting to the bottom of what's going on in Zarovia as the Dark Powers keep Strahd prisoner, than dispatching the vampire lord himself.)

Vol just thinks Esme is so fucking cool.

Of course, spending this while in the magicless tower, we know Strahd is missing watching in on his favorite blorbos (our party, who we know he regularly spies on thanks to Milan) and we hope he's not too bored for the night.

apparently doing my own Strahdtober and I am very late so it’s my entry for day#11

Keeping up the fake illustrations ft Mr Rictavio. My bard challenged him during a "Vallaki got talent" event. (Can be found on DMsGuild). At some point, Rictavio should have done skeleton jokes and fun stories with a skull he animated but I didn't have any skeleton jokes in my mother tongue so I didn't tell any.

Adding this to the pile of “things I’d have to draw correctly in the future and do real illustrations of”. I’ll polish these piles of wips one day ._.
