What are your opinions on Kaneki x Rize? It's relatively unpopular yet i see a lot of potential in it

toxic as FUCK and equally as sexy. the best outcome for this ship is they leave knowing that they never want to see each other again. rize leaves when she feels tied down to something, while kaneki is always seeking someone or something to tie himself too. they are fundamentally incompatible but oh my GOD the impact…

When I started shipping it:when you proposed it!

My thoughts:I really like them! I quite like how they are similar in the sense that they are both femme fatales who are entirely set on their goals. I do like the contrast between them as though. Whilst Mayu is driven by money and more worldly desires. Rize is more detached from those and lives a more nomadic lifestyle. I feel like their similar backgrounds yet different personalities could create quite an interesting dynamic. Almost like a dying and tan scenario.

What makes me happy about them: The amount of really sweet hcs I could wrote about them!!! I probably will do that at some point as well. I like how they seem to complete each other. Mayu feels dumb a lot of the time and Rize is willing to teach her. Rize can be power hungry and cold and Mayu is emotionally intelligent and understanding. God there's so much potential here.

What makes me sad about them: The fact that they can only over exist in fanfiction :((((((((( Istg Ishida knew they would be too powerful together and was a coward.

Things done in fanfic that annoy me: The lack of it. I'm going insane there isn't anything please god

Things I look for in fanfic: A fanfic would be nice please and thank you 🙏🙏

Who I'd be comfortable with them ending up with if not each other: I have been partial to RizeKane occasionally in the past but other than that I've never really had any Rize ships. This is probably the only Mayu ship I've been proposed so I really am not sure. Maybe it's all a sign they're meant to be together 🤷‍♀️

My happily ever after: being able to continue with Rize's nomadic lifestyle whilst also being able to find room for Mayu's search for money. Rize spoils her essentially lol.

Who is the big spoon/little spoon: I'd say they probably switch it up depending on who feels they need the most comfort that day. But more often than not Rize's the big spoon.

What is their favourite non-sexual activity: probably just hanging around together. Whether it be at a local cafe or a simple walk in the park, you can usually find them together. Rize also enjoys explaining the book she's currently reading to Mayu and patiently going over any details she feels insecure about not understanding.

I really enjoyed doing this one. I love being able to revisit characters when I do these and my God do I wish we got something. Definition of wrong place wrong time, huh? Please feel free to send me asks I love doing these

I don’t really ship her with anybody personally, but Cesium got me interested in RizeKane, so I’ll say that.

A BROTP I have with said character:

Uh, maybe her and Shachi? She doesn’t really interact with too many characters throughout the story. I’m trying to come up with people she would actually get along with and failing horribly ;-; I think maybe if she and Furuta had been raised under circumstances that weren’t horrible they would have made good friends so there’s that.

A NOTP I have with said character:

None really I guess, maybe her and Furuta cause it goes just a bit too far for my tastes

A random headcanon:

Uh, she likes to play around with different hairstyles a lot, she once dyed her hair for a short period of time before going back to her normal colour.

General Opinion over said character:

She’s pretty cool! I don’t really have any especially brainrotty feelings for her, but she’s a really interesting character.

Haise's name: 'Coffee' and 'World'

Haise's name is spelled like so in kanji: 琲世.

The reason he chose those two characters was because of things important to Kaneki; it's a subconscious influence from memories he doesn't have access to.

琲, 'coffee', is obvious. It reminds him of Anteiku and the good things he experienced there. But what about 世, or 'world'? What is the significance of that? Kaneki is secretly a very selfish individual, so he doesn’t actually care about the ‘world’, just the good things in it that benefit him. So why?

Well, there's another character who uses 'world' in their name, and probably taught Kaneki how to spell it.

Rize is spelled using two characters as well:

利: 'profit' or 'effective'. Fitting.

And 世: 'world'.

She, like Anteiku, despite everything, is important to him.

Something Tells me that you really dislike kanetou~ you put them as a really unhealthy relationship that actually do not love each other but are obssessed with each other. I AM curious do you ship Kanerize? If you do could you explain their possible dynamic?

I’m totally neutral on Touken. I liked it a lot when I first got into Tokyo Ghoul but over time my interests shifted more to like UiHai and the Garden related portions of canon.  Please do try to take my posts in context anon, a lot of people were sending me asks about a crack ship instead of letting me ship it in peace and I was trying to make a point that no ship in Tokyo Ghoul is particularly healthy, because Tokyo Ghoul is a manga about complicated relationships between flawed people. Me politely explaining to somebody my reasons for shipping something and then using evidence and assertions to back up my reasons for shipping is not showing any kind of dislike or hate for something. 

Hmmmm Rizekane, to be honest I don’t ship Rize with anybody in particular? I read Rize’s character as somebody who can’t stand any kind of attachment at all, because the restraint would terrify her. Just as a person so fundamentally flawed from her broken upbringing she can’t stand to hold back and restrain herself in any way. That’s what makes her interesting to me, her inability to satiate herself or show any restraint at all to the point of self destruction.
