New Verse!

Road to Rangerhood (AU verse where Leon is now a Pokemon Ranger!): 

Post-Sword and Shield, there were expectations that Leon might take up being Chairman of the Pokemon League after Chairman Rose was arrested for the whole Eternatus situation. Instead, Leon decided to move out of Galar for a year and study in Almia to be a Pokemon Ranger, much to everyone’s shock. 

His reasoning behind this was that he enjoyed battling and getting along with Pokemon and making sure everyone had a champion time. And though being in charge of the Pokemon League would align with those passions, Leon had little experience in the way of administrative duties and other things it took to really run the Pokemon League, so he doubted that he’d be any good at being the Chairman. By being a Pokemon Ranger, he could still help people and Pokemon have a great time, but also stop and prevent potential tragedies like the Darkest Day happening. Leon felt guilty about basically being involved in the whole Eternatus plan (even if it technically wasn’t his fault) that Rose cooked, and Leon figured that being a Pokemon Ranger would be a way to also personally atone for that.

Leon was one of the older students in Almia’s Ranger School, for sure. He definitely towered above a bunch of the kids due to his height. Despite this, he was somewhat popular at the school due to his status as former Champion of Galar (though also infamous for constantly being late for class due to being directionally challenged). 

After graduating Ranger School and interning a bit at the Vientown Pokemon Ranger base, Leon quickly grew up the ranks to become an actual Area Ranger, and is currently aspiring for the Top Ranger Position. Inbetween his Ranger duties, Leon comes back to Galar to see his family and also see how Galar is doing now with the new Champion and all. Ontop of trying to be Top Ranger, Leon is hoping that he can find a way for a Ranger branch to be built in Galar as well, as he thinks it’ll be helpful for the people and Pokemon of Galar.
