how to the clans view eating roadkill?
Generally, roadkill is seen on the same level as carrion. It's coated with the overwhelming scent of the road, with crows, ravens, and buzzards almost always finding the carcass before Clan cats. They might try to salvage what they can, especially if it was a large animal like a deer, but generally this meat is avoided.
Unless you're ShadowClan. ESPECIALLY if it's badger meat. Do you know how hard it is to kill badgers, deer, and foxes?? You're just gonna LEAVE a free meal there?! It's GOOD MEAT, Tawnypelt, we NEED to get you over this ThunderClan snobbery, StarClan made all the animals out of food and here you are just rejecting our ancestor's sweet, sweet blessing. Now get over here and help me drag this thing off the thunderpath before the car comes back

You smile at the deer eating grass by the underpass
you smile at the dead ones on the highway too

I imagine Nubbin being the one who would bring little animals back at the house, trying to make his parents accept to have a pet or something XD it would end very poorly for the animal tho knowing how the Sawyers are 👀
He's got the spirit at least

Who invented taxidermy
Someone with a lot of time and stuffing and very severe lack of home decorations. I'm guessing they also lived near a highway.

On the topic of roadkill will they catch the birds that flock around the kill?
Usually, but it depends a bit on the bird.. Generally, there are two types of birds that will typically flock around roadkill;
Corvids
Magpies, jackdaws, ravens, etc. The most common example of this is the carrion crow. The problem with corvids is that they are large and intelligent, ESPECIALLY ravens and magpies, so you have to be smart about picking a fight with them.
All of them are still big meals. though, so none of this will stop a hungry warrior or a patrol trying to hit a quota.
Buzzards
Buzzards are not vultures. They are small hawks. They are notorious for dining on roadkill, but aren't the circling scavengers that you might think they are! Clan cats respect raptors and try not to take too many of them, lest they badly affect their numbers. Thankfully, buzzards are the most common raptor in the area, and are often hunted to create Breezebones out of their femurs.
