😭thank you becca, i swear it’s so you to want to know what THAT one is.

so basically @team-mom-wannabe asked what “canon- obscured by clouds” is and i said it was a canon verse crack fic where theon tries to pull some moves on robb after years of friendship and robb just assumes that theon is possessed cause that’s apparently the only logical explanation.

and well the crack fic idea came up when i was talking to @hendrikfaheys and they gave me the idea because if you remember help!, you’ll remember i had so much fun writing starkling crack.

so along with the canon verse one i was like WHY NOT start a modern one too. so TBC is the companion modern au to that concept that has not gone very far. this is all i have at the moment:

i can’t even tell where i was going with it but it was a very busy time work-wise so i probably dropped off writing again around this time.

OF COURSE, HE HAD KNOWN that there was a possibility he would run into Charles at the wedding. The groom was HIS friend too after all. Had he perhaps also HOPED to see Charles there? Maybe… But that was not something he was willing to admit to. Not to himself, and ESPECIALLY not out loud.

So when he had stepped into the church, his eyes had immediately settled on a familiar figure a couple of rows ahead of him. His date - a girl that had been paired up with him for the wedding by the bride - had tried talking to him, despite Robb obviously not listening to her, and during the reception, she had disappeared. Probably to find someone who would actually listen to her.

When everyone had piled into the cabin, his eyes had immediately searched the crowd for that same figure, acting like he hadn’t been SEARCHING for Charles when he walked up beside him, though probably failing miserably at the attempt. There was an immediate tension in the air when he spoke and for a moment he wondered if he had made a mistake. Maybe he just needed more CHAMPAGNE to have a normal conversation with his ex-fiance.

That feeling was reinforced when the very FIRST subject they landed on was his family and his father’s death. He turned to a waiter at the same time Charles did and also picked a glass of wine from the man’s tray, emptying half the glass in one gulp before turning back to the other. This was NOT AT ALL how he had expected this to go.

“It’s fine,” she said after taking a deep breath. “It’s eh…” He bit at his bottom lip as he tried to gather himself. SMOOTH ROBB, he chided himself. “The rest of the family is… They’re okay. DEALING with the situation in their own ways.” That was an understatement. “How eh…” Was he TRULY gonna ask it? “How’s Eric?” Apparently, he was.

Modern verse

Son of the most important business family from the north of England Robb is on his first year of college studying businesses management as he is supposed to take charge of the family company in the future. Something he tries to takes very seriously.

However, since he lives with his half brother Jon and his best friend Theon, sometimes all of that becomes secondary. The Stark ends up ignoring his responsibilities in order to have fun going to parties, know more people and, overall, enjoy the independence leaving the family home gives you.

Welcome to part three of my positivity shoutouts. I will be doing these in alphabetical order and hope my scattered brain won’t forget anyone. Given I can only put people on here I follow and therefore know, feel free to send in positivity for people in the House of the Dragon fandom who I have missed & not mentioned, so I can include them in a later post!

@idanazaldrizes - what a lovely oc you have! there are a lot of oc children for rhaenyra out there, but i literally never grow tired of them, because rhaenya is the mom ™ and deserves all the babies. aerea ( also kudos for the name choice, i love that name from got lore ) is beautifully written and a delight on my dash <3 keep up the good work

@incissam - another wonderful, talented and lovely rhaenyra! i have absolutely no duplicate anxiety and love to surround myself with other amazing beans who write my favorite character and this phenomenal mun does the best job at breathing life into her and doing her justice!

@inspireswar - beautiful lyanna <3 vic is one of the absolute best people on here and even though lyanna technically is a got muse, she has a hotd verse and i therefore claim her for this fandom :D vic is an incredibly talented, kind, creative and just overall perfect gem of a human being and makes my dash a better place with all of the characters she writes. lyanna is stunning and you should all interact with her!

@kipagircs - my son! we’re not just basically neighbors, but hannah also writes rhaenyra’s my favorite son perfectly. our sweet boy is wonderfully fleshed out, and the mun has developed him perfectly past his SUPPOSED death that never actually happened bc my boi gets to live a long and happy life. amazing & kind mun, who is just a joy to have around!

@leschanceux - another amazing mulit with a wonderful collection of hotd muses that are all written incredibly well and there are even some of the rarer ones we don’t get to see very often. the mun is also absolutely lovely, welcoming and super approachable. couldn’t imagine my dash without them on it!

@lykosog - technically another got muse and not hotd, but it is becoming a trend here to just include everyone who roughly belongs to the same world, because you are just all so freaking talented and it would be a shame not to mention you. a beautifully written version of robb, brought alive by a very nice and talented mun. absolutely worth a follow and so nice to have around!

@mccndancer - my sweet, sweet vesta <3 your baela is the light of my life ( and that of Elaena ) and I just adore writing with you on her. you put so much effort in bringing her to life and i love the way you portray her. baela is one of the coolest characters in the dance and you do her absolute justice <3

@nvrqn - ah, my darling! a wonderful, perfectly written rhaenys through and through. the mun has so much love and passion for her character and it shines through in everything she does. she has so many amazing verses for her and is just in general very approachable, kind and insanely creative. i love her so, so much and i am so grateful we get to write our silly little angsty verse together.

@nyratcrg - a rhaenyra that is entirely based in modern and so interesting! the mun has done an amazing job of developing her in a completely different setting than canon and fleshing her out to be a well rounded character. definitely worth a follow for all of you who thrive in modern verses as well and want to write with a lovely black queen!

Things just as bad or worse

This is hilarious that it is the first one I am being asked about and yet it is the hardest to explain maybe? But that is why it is a WIP lol. This idea has definitely grown over the years. It originally began as an RP modern verse on @theon-sea-reek where Theon had killed two children- Jack and Billy Miller while driving drunk. But now... it has morphed into something... weird. Basically now the idea is that Theon is in prison in Modern Times (Still deciding whether I am making it our world or modern Westeros. Probably our world. I am also not sure if I am going to try to make the Miller's boys deaths closer to canon, or if I even can- we'll see.) Theon begins to make up stories in his head in order to detach from the reality of prison- which includes Ramsay in some form- and from his own guilt. These "stories" begin to take shape as the asoiaf canon we know but different versions of it. Things that happen in the modern prison reality begin to affect how the story in his head goes and it switches- sometimes it is book canon, sometimes it is show canon, sometimes it is more fanon. The stories eventually become "just as bad or worse" as the reality he is trying to escape. Theon begins to wonder if these stories are actually happening the more real they become and the more lost in them he becomes. Is he losing his mind? Which version of him is true? Does it matter? I have a LOT to plan and consider with this one but I'm really excited about it.

Theon and Jon in the Crypts

This was originally supposed to be written for Greysnow Week. (Alas!) It is a missing scene fic for Season 8. Jon is in the crypts staring up at Lyanna's statue and having extreme angst over Ned and the reveal of his true parentage. At some point he realizes that he is not alone in the crypts... Theon has also come to visit Robb's statue and they have a discussion together that mirrors their Season 7 discussion but also turns it on its head. A bit of it is below:

His mother is a stone statue and his father is a lie. Jon stands in the Crypts seething in anger. Ungrateful. He knows he is ungrateful to feel this way, when Ned Stark sacrificed his honor to protect him. But all he can think about is the last time they spoke. The last time he saw the man he thought was his father.

“The next time we see each other, we'll talk about your mother, I promise,” he had said. Would he have eventually told him? After he had already taken his vows and was safely out of the way? He certainly had no issue with him living out his life in frozen exile. He sent me to the wall without a second thought.

And what of his true father? What would he have wanted him to become? Would he have loved him? Would he have truly accepted him as a trueborn son, as Sam insisted? Or would he just be another shameful stain on his father’s honor, a lone bastard boy in yet a larger castle?

And then there is the loss… the hollow feeling of losing Ned twice. Loss and love mixed with this new feeling of betrayal. It is too much. And what will Daenerys say? What will his sisters say? He doesn’t need this right now.
