Delores LaVern Baker (November 11, 1929 – March 10, 1997) was an American R&B singer who had several hit records on the pop chart in the 1950s and early 1960s. Her most successful records were "Tweedle Dee" (1955), "Jim Dandy" (1956), and "I Cried a Tear" (1958). Baker was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991. The Hall remarked that her "fiery fusion of blues, jazz and R&B showcased her alluring vocals and set the stage for the rock and roll surge of the Fifties". From 1955 to 1965, 20 of her songs made the R&B charts. Over the years, Elvis Presley recorded eight Baker songs

Ever think about how the Rock and Roll hall of fame hasn’t inducted anyone actually in the genre of rock or metal for 20+ years. Well known acts like I believe twisted sister aren’t in but every pop, rap and country star under the sun is?
I’m not saying other genre or artists are bad but it’s not supposed to be a popularity club “most popular people of the year get in” situation, I’m not saying they shouldn’t be recognized but that’s not the place to do it???
Maybe I’m the crazy one here idk but I’ve been there and the exhibits are about rock! (Shocker) and rock artists, some are about music broadly but it’s more how TV and recording revolutionized it. Like there’s a difference between “everyone’s welcome/serve all” to “this is no longer about rock what’s that”
