Koenigsegg CC8S
The CC8S was the first production car ever made by Koenigsegg. It was the culmination of 8 years development work that started out with Christian von Koenigsegg wanting to build his own car. Its minimalistic, clean, efficient and elegant styling truly set it apart from the peers of the time. The CC8S laid the foundation for all Koenigsegg car models when it comes to aesthetics, philosophy and functionality. The CC8S was produced between 2002 and 2003 in 6 examples, making it one of the rarest Koenigsegg models ever. 2 of the 6 cars were right hand drive. The engine was built in-house by Koenigsegg in Ängelholm, but based on a modular Ford V8 engine architecture. In order to reach 655 hp with full OBD compliance, meet emission regulations, have great reliability and drivability, Koenigsegg really had to re-engineer most of the engine. The engine was fitted with dry sump lubrication, forged piston and connecting rods, larger injectors, merged exhaust headers, ram air intake, centrifugal supercharger with a large intercooler etc. The cylinder heads had to be reworked and fitted with new camshafts and injectors. Head bolts had to be strengthened and the list goes on.In order to have a free flowing exhaust to meet the power needs and at the same time fit catalytic converters, Christian invented and patented the ‘Rocket cat’ principle. The system worked in a way that when the pre-cat created too much back pressure at high rpm, the overpressure was dynamically bypassed/overflowed directly to the main cat, which is fine in this scenario, as the main cat is fully warm then. A simple, clever solution with no moving parts. This solution increased power by nearly 100 hp compared to existing solutions. The CC8S pioneered the detachable, stowable carbon roof and the dihedral actuation doors that Koenigsegg has become famous for. The car won several awards, including the “Guinness World Record” for the Most Powerful Production Engine and awards for excellent design from both “Red Dot” in Germany and “Utmärkt Svensk Form” in Sweden.

For Sale: An Oldsmobile Jetfire Turbo Rocket V8 – The World’s First Turbo V8 Engine - Ben Branch @Silodrome
This is an original Oldsmobile Jetfire Turbo Rocket V8 engine, it was pulled out of a 1962 Oldsmobile Jetfire, and it has the unique distinction of being the world’s first turbocharged V8 production engine. The title of world’s first production turbo V8 would be historically significant enough, but the Jetfire Turbo Rocket was also just the second production engine with a turbo fitted after the…

1954 Oldsmobile F-88
The 1954 Oldsmobile F-88 only saw 4 units built before the project was canceled, but only one car still exists today. With a 250 horsepower Rocket 88 324 V8 engine and a fiberglass lightweight exterior, this could've been a very exciting sports car. The Oldsmobile F-88 was made on a Corvette chassis. At that time, Corvette only had 6 cylinder motors so Oldsmobile used their own 324 V8 engine.

Thank you for art, God. Here’s to more years of sketches and artwork. ----- Hi here are some more cars I’ve thrown together over the past few months
Alien spaceship meets road car with the Caltabiano Makalu. Famous for their wedge designs (that are infamously difficult to climb into or see out of), the South Korean-owned Italian marque consistently crafts supercars that attack the senses. The jewel of the Makalu is arguably the naturally aspirated V12, sending 830 BHP and 562 lb-ft of torque through Caltabiano’s unique all-wheel drive system and singing an otherworldly shriek to go along with its rocket ship acceleration.
It may have two less cylinders compared to the Makalu, but that doesn’t mean the Caltabiano Galathea is any less fun or capable—in fact, it’s Caltabiano’s main representative in Racesport and other competitive racing series. The “entry-level” Caltabiano trades top speed to be more approachable in its handling while still retaining some of the best launch acceleration and corner out acceleration in the business.
In what is probably a stark contrast to our world, Amadis County loves their minivans—probably because they have stylish options like the Arceneau Ceylan. This French MPV has a plethora of screens, interior lights, and even an electrochromatic glass sunroof, all making for a very fashionable interior. But it also has one electric motor powering each wheel, allowing the Ceylan to feel more sprightly than its appearance may suggest.
Back in the world of sports cars, the Murdoch Sporttype has oft been described as the British Eastwood Slade (or a fancier Vikur). Powered by a supercharged V8, the Sporttype is just as eager to slide around corners, but with an interior (and exterior) that’s more posh. Sporttypes and spy movies have gone hand-in-hand since the model’s introduction, further cementing the comparison between Murdoch’s entry-level sports car and the Slade, a film star in its own right.
The Fujiwara Taipan Sport finishes today’s assortment of roamers roaming along the Amadis County streets. Not to be mistaken for the regular Taipan (though most people still don’t agree with Fujiwara’s decision to name a sporty sedan after one of their legendary sports cars), the newest-generation Taipan Sport doubles down on its transformation into a world-class supercar, featuring wild, almost cartoonish bodywork hiding an equally wild all-wheel drive powertrain. With the new Anima looming in the horizon, the motorsport community is looking forward to the front-engine Taipan Sport going head-to-head against its stablemate and in-house rival.
So, what’s your pick from this lot?

Ares S1 Project
When you’re a coach builder best known for your work on luxury and high-performance cars, the next step in your evolution is only natural: Make one of your own. And that’s just what Ares Design is doing with its new supercar concept, the S1 Project.
The Italian company has just unveiled its first original vehicle, a limited-run speedster it claims will churn out more than 700 horses. And this isn’t just some theoretical mock-up. The Modena-based company, which was co-founded by former Lotus CEO Dany Bahar, has built its reputation on elegant coach work, and it shows through in the S1 Project’s curvaceous exterior. The brash vehicle features an all-new design, with a flowing shape that revolves around giant front and rear fenders. In front is a dramatic down-sloping hood that smoothly segues into a spacious cockpit that begins at the front tiers. With the driver’s cabin in a front-forward position, the car almost looks like a rocket ship on wheels.
But while the exterior may be the S1’s standout feature, the car’s technical specs are no less impressive. The S1 will be powered by a naturally aspirated V8 that can rev up to 8,800 rpm and produce a 715 horses. Mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, the engine can rocket the car from zero to 62 mph in just 2.7 seconds. While its far from the most powerful supercar out there, the Ares model will bring plenty of grunt to the road. Other technical features include a double wishbone suspension, forged-aluminum axles and adaptive Magnetic Ride Control, all of which promise to give the S1 Project a smoother ride—not a characteristic often associated with supercars. While Ares hasn’t released pricing info for the S1 Project, you can expect it to be steep, especially since the company only intends to build 24 examples of the vehicle.

1956 Oldsmobile Golden Rocket
Bullet on Wheels: The 1956 Oldsmobile Golden Rocket
Easily one of the wildest General Motors dream cars of the Motorama era, the Olds Golden Rocket was the epitome of Jet Age design. Let’s take a closer look.
Throughout the 1950s, Harley Earl and his forward-looking crew at the GM styling studios frequently turned to aircraft and space travel for their inspiration. There might be no better example of the automaker’s guided-missile design theme than the far-out Golden Rocket, Oldsmobile’s Motorama dream car for 1956. “The Supersonic Age comes to automobile styling!” the company proclaimed.

1956 Oldsmobile Golden Rocket
Constructed in fiberglass on a shortened Oldsmobile passenger car perimeter frame with a 105-inch wheelbase, the Golden Rocket was essentially a bullet on wheels in side view (above.) But under the skin, the show car was fairly conventional with a 324 CID, 275-horsepower Olds Rocket V8 up front, Hydra-Matic automatic transmission, and leaf-spring rear suspension. The custom wheels employed integral brake drums, and a pair of fuel tanks were housed in the rear fenders. Note the “dotted-line” segmented whitewalls, a novel feature that never went any further.
Tumblr media
1956 Oldsmobile Golden Rocket
At a little more than 200 inches long but less than 50 inches tall, the Rocket sported an impressively low silhouette, which required some ingenuity in the packaging of the two-seat cabin. For easier entry and egress, a roof panel popped up when the door was opened on either side, while the steering wheel rim swung upward and the bucket seats rose three inches and pivoted on their mountings. Upholstery was blue and gold leather, while the speedometer was housed in the steering wheel hub. The lap belts and driver pedals display a strong aircraft influence.
While the Rocket seems to be one of the more obscure GM dream cars in current times, it did include some ideas that turned up later on the General’s production models. The stubby rocket-type tailfins would adorn some memorable Cadillacs of the early ’60s, while the split-window teardrop rear window is extremely familiar. It was next tried on a dead-ended 1958 Corvette styling proposal, then famously appeared on the 1963 Corvette Sting Ray coupe. As with a number of GM Motorama dream cars, the fate of the Golden Rocket was not officially documented, reportedly, but it hasn’t been seen or heard from in years and is presumed destroyed.

Dude Built A Real-life Batmobile From New Batman Adventures Animated Series
So many people have had their hands in building real-life Batmobiles. From the crudest and the ‘practical’ to 89’ classic to modern examples like Ben Affleck’s Batmobile and the Tumbler from The Dark Knight. Recently, a New Orleans man joined this exclusive club of real-life Bruce Wayne with his very own Batmobile.
Not just any Batmobile; it is a full-size replica of Batman’s ride as seen in New Batman Adventures DC animated series aired from 1997-1999. Al Burmaster is the man responsible for this beautiful, shiny New Batman Adventures’ Batmobile.
Build on a Corvette C4 with a 5.7L V8 power plant, Burmaster’s Batmobile stretches 16’ long (4.9 meters), 8’ (2.4 meters) across and rolls on 26- and 22-inch wheels front and back.
This real-life, full-size New Batman Adventures’ Batmobile is tricked out with rocket launchers, machine guns, the requisite afterburners, and pretty snazzy light effects, including a pair of infinity taillights.
All told, it took the man 4 years and no less than 3,000 hours to complete the build. We are completely swooned over by this Al Burmaster’s Batmobile.
