A Handy Tool for World Creators
I’m chugging away on Project Quaere et Inveni, but I wanted to take a moment to give my opinion on a little notebook and the app that comes with it.
That is the RocketBook.  It’s a reusable notebook that you can clean the pages with a damp microfiber cloth and comes in three sizes: Mini, Everlast, and Wave. (I use the Everlast you can find in the stationary department at Wal-Mart. The Everlast came with a microfiber cloth and a black ink Pilot Frixon pen.)
The way it works is that is has a series of symbols on the bottom of each page.  On the inside front cover are the same ones, but you can write in which symbol goes to the which destination.  (These should match how you set them up in your app as well.) It can sync up to your Google Drive, Dropbox, and (most importantly for me) EverNote along with a few others.
The real thing I like with the app is that you can do pdf scans.  It scans multiple pages (that have to have the same symbol marked in the notebook and the option has to enabled in the app) and consolidates them into a single pdf file.  I wrote up four pages of notes for my game, scanned, and now they sit in my game’s project notebook in EverNote.  Though I need to figure out how to set up color in my scans since I have multiple Frixon pens now in various colors. ^^;
But, this little notebook beats carrying around a ton of notebook paper!

So, I’ve been feeling like maybe I need to un-tech my life just a wee bit lately, so I googled smart notebooks and smart pens and decided to go with the Rocketbook Everlast.
Tumblr media
No fancy pen, and you have to photo the pages to digitize them but the truly special thing is that the pages are all completely wipeable! Yeah! You use a water-based ink pen (they recommend Frixion pens which are also ERASABLE). Just get a damp cloth and wipe the pages clean!
The eco-friendly nerd in me loves this. It only comes with 32 sheets (so 64 pages front and back) but that’s more than enough to get through a week or more depending on how many notes you take, and then you can scan and wipe the whole thing clean. Yes, this makes the 12-inch iPad pro I have basically useless but I’ll probably still carry it around with me anyway.
I think I need to recalibrate my brain, you know? I want it to feel rewarded from doing homework and studying, not the easy rewards of social media and video games etc. I loathe to call it a “detox” because no such thing exists, and I don’t actually think technology or social media is bad.
Other things I’ve done: deleted Facebook and Tumblr off my phone (le gasp!) though I kept Messenger, because that’s how I communicate with a lot of folks. I don’t need to be checkin’ that stuff during the day.
“But how will you post photos from your phone!?” From Instagram. I don’t use it as a social media platform, it’s literally just a tool I use to post photos to Facebook and Tumblr simultaneously.
I want my tech interactions to be more meaningful or something pretentious like that. I want tech to work FOR me, not against me.

Get latest updates on Mobile Phones, laptops & Other Gadgets at Techbored. There are so many movies out there that have given us a peek into what the future looks likes. The world of science fiction is full of these assumptions.
We all know how hard it can be to keep our papers organized. Every day we lose something a paper that we really needed and then we dig through drawers and shelves to find it. Rocketbook could save us that entire struggle.
The need for a gadget like Everlast Notebook increases as issues like climate change and environmental protection gain more and more importance. A majority of woke youth is concerned about the fact that felling of trees will accelerate earth degradation. 160,000 trees are cut down each day to produce paper.
How It Works
The Rocketbook system is made of three components; the Everlast Notebook, the Frixion pen and the Rocketbook App. Buying the three will give you the full functionality of this gadget. The system is a perfect amalgamation of simple but noble solutions with complex technological amendments. They sport an approach that is entrepreneurial in the sense that Rocketbook solves a problem with a very innovative solution.
The Rocketbook Notebook| Techbored:
Tumblr media
The company claims that it worked closely with paper industry specialists to produce the Everlast Notebook. They found an optimal synthetic polyester blend to create pages of this device. These pages can be easily swiped off of Frixion ink. It also feels very natural to write on these pages.
Title:  Everlast Notebook From The Future | Techbored:
Description: The world of science fiction is full of these assumptions. Everlast Notebook is that digital screen. It is a pen and paper but it is so much more.
Keyword: Everlast Rocketbook, Everlast Notebook, Rocketbook Notebook
Another interesting feature of the Everlast Rocketbook is the user preference it keeps in mind. The notebook is available in two sizes, letter and executive. Before you place an order for the Rocket book you got through a survey. The survey allows you to select the size of your notebook accordingly. Every notebook comes with a Frixion pen.  That increases product functionality.
The Frixion Pen
The company has advertised the Frixion Pen as any other pen. They have called it just a normal pen in their campaign. However, it is not convincing. There has to be some difference between a ballpoint and Frixion ink that allows the latter to be called a gadget. After all the Frixion pen is wiped off with a wet cloth but remains intact with a dry one, it has to be magic.
Here is where this gets crazy. What the company said was actually true, the pen is very much like any other pen. The Everlast Notebook is not a whiteboard book, they say and that is why it does not need a highly specific pen.
Seven Symbols of Magic
No, do not be afraid this is not a reference from some sort of a devil cult. Neither are they secret Harry Potter Horcruxes. The seven symbols are where the magic of the Rocketbook happens. According to the Rocketbook Company, “the seven symbols at the bottom of each page are the magic “buttons” behind the Rocketbook’s quick and easy cloud organization”.
You assign each icon to the destination of your choice, any folder inside Dropbox, Ever note, Google Drive, Box, Slack or your email address. So really it is easy to use and you do have to say any magical spells to make it work.
 The Rocketbook Mobile App| Techbored:
Tumblr media
The Rocketbook mobile Application is a mobile app meant to complement the Rocketbook system. The process to use it is rather simple like scanning a document. Then, using a patent-pending image capture technology. The Rocketbook app will accurately and quickly capture and send your notes to pre-configured cloud services. So do not think that you will have to sign up for a very specific cloud service to support the application.
QR Code
What is that one thing that scares us whenever we make notes? That we will get the order all wrong and lose some vital piece of information in them. Not only that whenever we have to scan multiple pages we have to be extra careful so we do not misplace the order. You guessed it right, QR code is an intelligent solution to that.
Each page of the Rocketbook Everlast Notebook contains a special QR code. It tells the Rocketbook app the page number of each scan. Everlast Notebook Rocketbook is a part of that revolution, the revolution that seeks to leave behind what is basic and mundane. It seeks to accomplish what is fantastical and Everlast Rocketbook is the first step towards that world.

Uni Stationary Tips
If you’re like me and your brain hasn’t updated with the times and still demands you write everything down on actual paper as opposed to typing it out on your laptop during classes I would honestly recommend getting a Rocketbook Everlast or Wave.  They’re reusable notebooks that allow you to upload or send your notes to several services (One note, everlast, google drive, dropbox, slack, regular email etc.)  so you still have them on the go which makes studying easier and also lessens the load of thick notebooks you have to lug around to classes (you really just need one!).
The writting isn’t quite as natural as when it’s done on standard paper, so it took a second to get used to since i’m left-handed so I tend to drag my hand accross what i’ve just written and the ink doesn’t dry quite instantly but after using it for awhile I barely notice anymore.
The Wave is $27 or £25.99 GDP and the Everlast is $34 or £32.99 GDP.  The main difference between the 2 is that in order to erase what’s written in the Wave you plot it in the microwave for a few seconds and the Everlast is erased with a damp microfiber cloth.
You DO have to use Piolot’s Frixion pen’s if you want to utilize the features of the notebooks but they’re not too pricy and the fact that they’re erasable on regular paper too has been a lifesaver when I’ve had to use them for other things as well.
The notebooks are really thin (the large everlast has 32pages) so they’re easy to slip in your bag and easy to carry around.  Mine has been amazing so far and, though it was a bit pricy for a notebook it’s more of a long-term investment given that I more than likely wont have to buy any more notebooks for a few years now (in the event something destroyes this one).
So, if you happen to be able to spend a good $50ish to get both the notebook and the Pilot pens I highly recommend doing so to save yourself money in the future as well as to make studying and transfering/sharing notes and ideas much easier.
