Hey y’all!

It’s time for what y’all have been waiting for—Rogue/Gambit Week 2024. We’re looking forward to a great week celebrating our favorite Southern couple. Here’s the information you’ll need to participate.

Rogue/Gambit Week 2024 will be held June 16-23, 2024. Yes, that’s right, we plan to have eight days of full of Romy goodness.

Rules:

This is a celebration of all things Romy! Your fanworks may cover any point of their relationship—from their early flirtations to their life together as an old married couple, from friendship to lovers.

Rogue and Gambit do not need to be in a romantic relationship (friendship is great too!), but their relationship should be the primary focus.

Feel free to draw inspiration from any medium which they appeared (the comics (any corner of the Multiverse), the animated series (XtAS, WatX, Evo), the movies, etc.)

Please tag your posts #rogue/gambitweek2024 or #rogue/remyweek2024 within the first five(5) tags so they can be easily found and re-blogged on the Rogue/Gambit Week blog. You may also tag our posts @roguegambitweek . (This often makes finding posts easier).

Fanworks are not limited to fanfic, fanart, and fanedits. However you create, that is also a part of what makes a fanworks week successful. Yes, fic, art, and edits are the most common, but I’ve seen amazing fanworks accomplished in other ways. In our fist year a short video was shared concerning what Gambit keeps in his pockets. In another fandom, I’ve seen someone share why a particular musical score reminded them of the couple. I’ve seen people make text conversations between characters focused around that day’s prompt. Handcrafts, music, photography, cosplay, and countless other creative ventures can also be part of a fanworks week. Have fun creating. Please feel free to share your talents and Romy-love with us.

The fanworks you share should be created by you.

Any NSFW content must be placed under a ‘read more’ break, otherwise it will not be re-blogged.

You don’t need to post something for every day/every prompt. Feel free to participate in as many days as you you feel inspired. If you have created something, but are unable to post it on the assigned day, please post it when you can. It will still be re-blogged.

You may combine days (as in cover two or more prompts with the same entry).

‘Regular’ prompts may be set in an AU universe. ‘AU’ prompts could be set in a canon universe. Let your creativity run wild and have fun with the prompts.

Have fun. Try something new. Create something new for an old favorite. Remember, the goal here is to share the Romy love and create more Romy content for all of us to enjoy.

In celebration of Rogue and Gambit Fanworks Week for Day 3 prompt "flirting" and for Day 7 "free space - X-Men the Animated Series/X-Men'97"

In "X-Men the Animated Series" after Gambit's season 2 love confession to Rogue, their relationship entered a kind of perpetual strange limbo where they are clearly important to each other with continued flirting, major jealousy, and even one "chaperoned" vacation, but they never got to move forward. This piece lands us post-TAS with our couple charged with an important undercover mission and addresses the tension of their relationship limbo with hopes of moving forward. A somewhat bittersweet flavored tale ... and who says they're flirting with just each other?

From Rogue/Gambit Week 2023 to 2024

Hi everyone,

It’s been quite a year for Romy fans.

♠️ Rogue and Gambit had a new miniseries.

♥️ It’s the fifth anniversary of (the publishing of) Rogue and Remy’s marriage.

♣️ Romy fans started the process of creating a fanzine.

♦️ We’ve had another lovely Rogue/Gambit Week.

And, now, what to expect for Rogue/Gambit Week 2024.

We are making a few changes this coming year.

💚 The first change is that we are moving Rogue/Gambit Week from February to June 2024.

💜 Also, instead of soliciting and voting on new prompts, we will be using the extra prompts from the last several years. We’ve had so many great prompts over the years and some very close calls on the voting, that it seems like a fun way to give them new life.

💖 Keep an eye out for pop-up events throughout the year. I’m thinking about adding some weekend events in order to help spread the Romy love all year long.

Lot of heartache in this weeks episode of X Men 97. Jean and Scott are further driven apart and find themselves instead being drawn to others.... Logan and Madelyn. Can't say I'm surprised. I saw this coming a mile away.

but truly today's episode was really all about the love triangle between Rogue, Gambit and Magneto. EVERYTHING was finally revealed about Rogue and Magneto's former relationship before Rogue joined the X-Men.

I was waiting to hear this story, but I was not prepared for the consequences and heartache that would follow afterwards, especially for poor Gambit. I always hated when Rogue constantly turned him down before in X-Men, but this was the absolute worst thing she ever could've done to him.

Rogue did the unthinkable and completely broke Gambit's heart. "You light up everything you touch.... but never me." OUCH!!!

My heart hasn't felt this broken in a long time and I just can't believe she said that. I'm so sorry for the poor guy. Rogue made a big mistake and by the time she realized it... it was too late.

Remy died, believing Rogue never loved him and that her heart belonged to Magneto and now she has has to live with it. The pain and guilt of breaking Remy's heart and even worse, the regret she now feels of everything she said to him before he sacrificed himself to save them all.

Downright the most heartbreaking episode of X Men 97.

You guys, I am not okay after the new X-Men 97 episode. Like I am still literally Heartbroken.

Remember it. Remy is a goddamn hero and it breaks my entire soul that Rogue wasn't able to tell him that she chose him. And then Magneto's sacrifice too?! Like she lost the only person she can touch and the only person she loved in one go. Not to mention she couldn't even touch her own brother like this episode highlighted all of her fears and mine too. I am just so heartbroken right now. Rogue went through so much this episode.

I just want her to be happy. On another note, the fight sequences where animated beautifully and Rogue and that Red dress really ate down. She is such a a girl boss and I love her with every ounce of my soul.

Scott ATE DOWN. He was one hundred percent correct, the only reason all those ungrateful people where alive was because of the mutants that they hate so much. And not Jean getting mad at Scott for being in love with Madeline. She was a literal clone of Jean. Her entire personality was Jean. They had a kid together. Like not to much on him when you kissed Wolverine like 5 minutes ago. But that doesn't make what Scott did to Jean any better. Honestly, we just need to see the end of that bitch Sinister and then maybe those two could be happy.

Also Madeline being able to see Cable/ Nathan was everything and you know she was a real mother because she recognized her son IMMEDIATELY.

I am still heartbroken over ROMY like stop feeding us ROMY angst. I truly thought we were gonna see Life death part 2 but instead X-Men decides to injure me and worst of all, next week will probably be Life Death part 2 and I will still be wondering if Gambit and Magneto miraculously survived.

My heart literally broke seeing Rogue cry and hearting her cry like... Guys I am just not okay right now nothing is okay 😭
