She demonstrated tremendous ability and proved a cleverer student than most of her classmates, quickly mastering and becoming the best in most of the fields of magic taught at Hogwarts. Her formidable magical power allowed her to achieve O.W.L.s and N.E.W.T.s in all her choosed subjects.

🦄 Her maternal grandparents were famous Death Eaters and they were imprisoned to Azkaban long before her elder brother Jacob's first year at Hogwarts, a couple of months after Philidia's birth. 🦄 Even though Philidia descend from two long lines of pure-blood wizards and witches (her maternal and paternal grandmothers descend from the British clans Fawley and Yaxley respectively), her family is not mentioned in the "Sacred Twenty-Eight" – the Directory of the twenty-eight British families that were considered still truly pure-blood by the 1930s. Her clan is much more well-known in their countries of origin, Ireland and Romania.

She has a natural raw talent for Quidditch, showing fast reflexes, speed, agility and precision, according to the Quidditch royalty, bff and former house mate, Skye Parkin, who helped her train for the Slytherin's vacant position as a Chaser back in their second year of school at Hogwarts.

🦄 After graduation, she had played for a season as a professional Seeker for the all-witch Quidditch team Holyhead Harpies, then she joined Skye Parkin and Orion Amari as a Chaser for Wigtown Wanderers for almost three seasons, before she retired due to her first pregnancy, but she came back to her position a year after the ending of the Second Wizarding War.

🦄 She had refused to wed the father of her first daughter, Maia, because he had chosen to walk on his father's footsteps and joined the Death Eaters when Voldemort returned. Later, Felix choose to change his convictions for the sake of Philidia's love, but he was unexpectedly killed by his cousin, Evan Rosier, for betraying their clan and the Dark Lord.

🦄 After his death, she took her baby daughter and fled to Romania to live with her mother in her old family mansion.

Lucky: For some reason, Lith has super good luck for the most trivial things, like managing to get a cauldron just before Potions class starts because she forgot hers. She assumes it must be the universe’s compensation for cursing her.

Resourceful: To any problem she encounters, from a forgotten homework to escaping death, she will always have a set of solutions already elaborated in her mind. They might not always work as she wants, but they certainly save her ass.

Intelligent: She is a nerd and an overachiever. She enjoys learning and hyperfixates on a lot of interesting subjects during the course of her life.

Charms: Lith was taught charms by Jacob since he began Hogwarts when he noticed his sister had a particular proficiency with them, so when Lith arrived she was a bit ahead of her peers and continued to hone her skills on more advanced charms on her own.

History of Magic: Lith has always been a History nerd and History of Magic was a class she enjoyed and easily excelled in. Not much because of the Professor but Rowan and the study groups they would organize.

Worst Classes:

Flying: When in her human form, she is terrified of heights and hates flying.

Herbology: Lith and plants is something that is just not meant to be.

Favorite Professors:

Silvanus Kettleburn: He is eccentric, he is encouraging and he cares not about the world except for his beloved magical creatures. Lith admires his dedication and appreciates a non conventional teacher like him.

Patricia Rakepick: While Lith never fully trusted the curse breaker, she would be lying if she said that she did not enjoy Rakepick’s classes. She was probably the best professor of DADA she ever had.

Least Favorite Professors:

Severus Snape: Despite being her Head of House, Lith never liked Snape. He could mean well and she would be grateful for that but please be at a minimum distance of 6 feet apart. His attitude was the opposite of encouraging and she hated it.

Madam Hooch: She is scary :(( please don’t yell at her for not knowing how to fly she doesn’t need a broom anyway ;-;.

Disclaimer: this is my own lore.

Macpalxochitl, or the Devil’s Hand Tree, became a popular wood to make wands out of when the afrancesamiento of Mexico began. Old chroniclers would often refer to this tree as “worthy of any castle and palace”, so it was sought by wizards of high status. Nowadays it’s existence is very rare and only a few wandmakers are allowed to handle this tree. Wands of this wood tend to be stubborn, but they will remain loyal to their first owner. It is said that it’s better suited to healing magic, but that doesn’t mean it’s not able to turn to the Dark Arts.

The Huactli is a strange eagle-like bird that feeds on snakes. Its peculiarity is that it’s is able to speak the language of men and predict their future. It is said that if you hear it laugh, it means good luck, but if it mutters sadly, it can translate in danger, sickness and death. Wands of this core make powerful spells, but are often unpredictable and difficult to tame. Their loyalty is easily gained and easily lost, though this may vary depending on the wood.

What they see in the Mirror of Erised: Jacob and her, side by side, with the marks of their curse erased from their chests. As the years pass, more people are added into the picture behind them, like Chiara, Rowan, Talbott and Jae. After Rowan dies, their image takes Jacob’s place by Lith’s side.

Father: Daniel Thorne.Pureblood wizard.

Curly white hair (not due to the curse tho), white skin and golden eyes. Her dad is her greatest supporter, anything she wants to do he is right behind her cheering for her. He is a little bit eccentric but he loves to indulge his children's interests and spoil them. However, he is not available in the emotional department, he doesn’t know how to deal with those problems.

Mother: Perla Rosas Villareal.

Muggle. Curly brown hair, brown skin and brown eyes. Her mom is strict but loving. Lith always seeks her for emotional support, she listens patiently and offers help only when asked. She is the one who makes her question things and they often get into arguments because of that.

Brother: Jacob Thorne Rosas

Half-blood wizard. The reason for all this mess. Curly silver hair, brown skin and golden eyes. An introverted and sweet guy, but very naive and trusting. The relationship between the Thorne siblings had always been good. Sure, they fought and argued, but they got along pretty well. After the Vaults, Lith became wary of her own brother, but when it all ended they began to reconstruct their relationship, though it will always be damaged.

Pets:

Onyx (Grackle): He is not exactly her pet, he is the other half of her soul aka her Companion.

Nox: A black cat that stayed back at home with her parents.

They met when Lith was trying to break her curse via the animagus potion, a thing that obviously didn’t work.

After the failure of the potion (of which Talbott is not aware), they began to notice they shared similar hiding spots, such as the Owlery, and started to acknowledge each other’s existence by simply saying hello.

Then Lith started to get closer again, asking him about the potion and being an animagus. He got suspicious and ended up discovering Chiara and Lith were trying to turn Jae into an animagus to accompany them during Chiara’s werewolf transformation.

He agreed to help them and became a member of the Werewolf Support Squad, a little bit against his will but he warmed up to them eventually.

They started to get close during those night escapades. They hung out more together (with the Squad) even after the full moons.

Recovering Talbott’s necklace was the first time they got close one on one. It was also the moment they began to develop feelings for each other, even if they couldn’t name them yet.

They like being alone together, and started acting as a couple before they actually became one.

The moment Talbott realizes he has fallen for Lith is a morning after the full moon, when they are all in the Room of Requirement trying to get some sleep and the only thing he can look at is her.

For Lith it takes more time to realize her massive crush. It happened when Talbott fell asleep in the library while studying together. Tulip comes in and says something like “could you tell your boyfriend to wake up, Lith Thorne? We are having a House meeting soon.” Lith’s like “he is not my boyfriend tho??” and Tulip just answers “Really? Thought you were dating for months.” And leaves. That’s the moment when Lith looks at sleeping Talbott and omg he is cute and we certainly do look like a couple oh fuck.

Yet neither of them thinks the other is interested, so they continue like normal.

Until they stay behind in the Room of Requirement one time and they accidentally confess and bam guess they are a real couple now.

They graduate. Talbott gets his own place and works as an auror, Lith travels the world as a curse breaker. They meet sometimes and go on dates.

The year of Voldemort’s uprising, they have a fight and they both go their separate ways, though they never once mention breaking up.

They reunite in the Battle of Hogwarts, Talbott almost dies and they apologize to each other.

Lith moves in with Talbott after that and they marry and adopt two kittens.

~STORY~

Childhood:

Lith was born in a middle low class family in the Valley of Mexico, with a malediction in her blood. Her early childhood consisted of playing with the children in the same street and Jacob. Since insecurity was still not that high in the city, her mom would let them go out of the house on their own. They attended a public elementary school until Jacob received his letter. After that, Lith couldn’t bother with school anymore but was forced to attend. As she grew up, children started to distance themselves from her, all the neighbourhood thought it was suspicious that her brother had gone to a boarding school when they barely had the money to pay for all their expenses. It got worse when Jacob disappeared.

HOGWARTS:

1st Year: Befriends Rowan, Ben, Chiara and Penny. Makes enemies with Merula. Finds Ice Vault. The Werewolf Support Unit is formed by Chiara, Rowan and Lith.

2nd Year: Ben Cooper disappears. Befriends Bill Weasley. They enter another common room. They open the Ice Vault.

3rd Year: Befriends Tulip, Barnaby and Talbott. Tries the Animagus potion. Attempt to turn Jae into an animagus. The Werewolf Support Unit becomes the Werewolf Support Squad with new members Jae and Talbott. They open Fear Vault.

4th Year: Befriends Charlie Weasley. Patricia Rakepick arrives at Hogwarts. Sleepwalking curse. Open Forest Vault. Goes to the Celestial Ball with Rowan and on a “date” with Talbott.

5th Year: Befriends Jae Kim, Badeea Ali, Liz Tuttle and Diego Caplan. Detention in the kitchens. Beatrice Haywood is trapped in the portrait. Rakepick becomes the new DADA teacher. Lith realizes she has feelings for Talbott. They open the Portrait Vault.

6th Year: Ben goes dark. Lith and Talbott start to date. Rowan dies. Meets Ty Blackwood and finds out they are related. Circle of Khanna.

7th Year: Who tf knows?? :))

ADULTHOOD:

After graduation: Lith goes to become a cursebreaker, taking jobs others would not. She quickly gains a reputation among shady witches and wizards. She lives like this for a year, not having a stable place to stay and traveling from country to country carrying only her backpack. She grows tired of it and decides to drop it all. She goes back to Mexico and moves in with a few muggle roomies. She studies plastic arts at a university and graduates early. She goes back to England to return to her curse breaker activities when Voldemort comes back.

Order of the Phoenix / 2nd Wizarding War: Lith never joins the Order of the Phoenix. She becomes an independent Rescuer, working by herself or for third parties (the Order included) to rescue Undesirables and get them out of the country. She even crafter fake papers to get them out. She does get in contact with members of the Order sometimes, like Carewyn Cromwell, who is one of her main contacts within the Ministry. She fights in the Battle of Hogwarts and saves Talbott’s life after reuniting with him.

Post-War: She decides she has had enough adventures for a while and moves in with Talbott, who quits as an auror and becomes a poet. They get married in a small ceremony which basically was just signing the papers and getting dinner with friends afterwards. After Jacob dies and her nephew Icarus is left orphaned, she takes him in with Talbott and they all move in with Ty at his much bigger home. Lith returns to her curse breaking job to support the whole family, since she doesn’t want Ty to pay for all of their expenses. Charlie moves in too after dating Ty for a while, which was a surprise for all. And they all live together whoo.

Old Age & Death: After retiring definitely, Lith dedicates the rest of her life to art. She even sells some of her works. She paints until her hair starts to turn black and she grows feathers, she paints until her arms don’t obey her anymore. She dies on her bed, with her precious Companion resting on her chest, as they both merge together, accompanied by Talbott, Icarus and her loved ones.

MISC

When they were children, Jacob lost one of his fangs during a sudden transformation and a collision with the door. Lith keeps it as a necklace charm and gifted Jacob one of her own feathers. Because of this, she believes the first black quill is the one he carried as a necklace charm too.

Before they start dating, Lith gives Talbott one of her feathers, which he wears alongside her mother’s. Lith also wears one of his as a necklace, but when she grows older she turns it into an earring. This is one of the reasons why people believe they were already together.

Lith has a habit of drawing on her skin, which is why she sometimes has her legs covered in little doodles. She later starts drawing on her friends.

She hoards art supplies.

She is a gambling addict, so she will get intense during exploding snap games. She knows a lot of card games from her Mother’s side of the family, challenge her at your own risk.

She never learned how to drive.

She learned a bit of mexican magic from her cousins, who attended Aztlán (the mexican wizarding school) created by @tsikuri.

She definitely sings in the shower, but not during her Hogwarts years.

Her taste in music is broad, listening to almost anything except banda.

She has a sweet tooth and cannot stand spicy food, causing the teasing from her whole family, who all, as proud Mexicans, eat chili with everything.

After she graduates, her schedule shifts entirely. She wakes up at 2 pm and goes to sleep at 3 am.

Her love languages are physical touch, but she is too shy and hyper aware to actually approach people and touch them, and gifts.

If you give her food, you will now be on her “Good human, Angel from Heaven :-:” list.

Her wand core comes from a bird that can predict death and misfortune, this curiously can be linked to her manifestation of the curse.

Kisah Yahudi di Turki Utsmani

(Peneliti INSISTS) Bangsa Yahudi memang unik. Bangsa mungil ini begitu banyak dipaparkan sejarah, sifat, dan perilakun- ya dalam Alquran. Bangsa ini diselamatkan oleh Nabi Musa a.s. dari pembantaian Firaun. Tapi, hanya dalam tempo 40 hari, mereka sudah mengkhianati Nabi Musa, dengan menyembah patung anak sapi. Alquran surah al-Baqarah berkisah tentang sifat dan perilaku Yahudi yang bandel, ngeyel dan banyak bertanya untuk tidak menaati perintah Allah SWT. Belum lagi sifat serakahnya kepada dunia (QS 2:96); sifat rasisnya karena merasa sebagai satu-satunya kekasih Tuhan (QS 62:6), dan berbagai sifat lain yang digambarkan dalam Alquran. Sampai-sampai Nabi Musa a.s. bersedih hati dengan kelakuan kaumnya. Dan (ingatlah) ketika Musa berkata kepada kaumnya: 'Wahai kaumku, mengapa kalian menyakiti aku, sedangkan kalian tahu bahwa sesungguhnya aku adalah utusan Allah kepada kalian!' Maka tatkala mereka berpaling (dari kebenaran), Allah memalingkan hati mereka; dan Allah tidak memberi petunjuk kepada kaum yang jahat (fasik). (QS 61:5). Untuk lebih mempertajam pemahaman terhadap sifat bangsa Yahudi, menarik untuk mengkaji sepenggal sejarah perjalanan mereka di Turki Utsmani. Ratusan tahun, Turki Utsmani menjadi surga bagi orang-orang Yahudi. Tapi, kemudian kaum Yahudi pula yang menikam Turki Utsmani dari dalam. Sebelumnya, selama hampir 800 tahun, Yahudi menikmati zaman keemasan di wilayah Muslim Andalusia. Kejayaan Yahudi di bawah Islam ditulis banyak penulis Yahudi dan Kristen. Karen Armstrong, dalam bukunya, A History of Jerusalem: One City, Three Faiths(London: Harper Collins Publishers, 1997), menulis Under Islam, the Jews had enjoyed a golden age in al-Andalus. Prof SD Goitein, seorang profesor Yahudi, mengakui bahwa bahasa Ibrani, pemikiran, hukum, dan filsafat Yahudi, di susun berdasarkan pengaruh Arab Muslim. There, under Arab-Muslim influ- ence, Jewish thought and philosophy, and even Jewish law and religious practice were systematized and finally formulated. Even the Hebrew language developed its grammar and vocabulary on the model of the Arab language. (S.D. Goitein, Jews and Arabs, Their Contacts through the Ages(New York: Schocken Books, 1974). Misal, pada 17 Juli 1555, hanya dua bulan setelah pengangkatannya, Paus Paulus IV mengeluarkan dokumen (Papal Bull) bernama Cumnimis absurdum, yang menekankan, para pembunuh Kristus, yaitu kaum Yahudi, pada hakikatnya adalah budak dan seharusnya diperlakukan sebagai budak. (Lihat, Encyclopaedia Judaica, Vol. 2; Peter de Rosa, Vicars of Christ: The dark Side of the Papacy, (London: Bantam Press, 1991). Pujian dan tikaman Pada masa pemerintahan Sultan Abdul Hamid II (1876-1909), organisasi Yahudi The Central Committee of the Alliance Israelite Universelle in Paris mengirimkan ucapan selamat kepada Sultan Abdulhamid II. Begini isi suratnya, Pada musim semi tahun 1492, kaum Yahudi yang diusir dari Spanyol menemukan perlindungan di Turki. Sementara mereka ditindas di belahan dunia lainnya, mereka tidak pernah berhenti menikmati perlindungan di negeri-negeri leluhur Tuan yang jaya. Mereka mengizinkan Yahudi hidup dalam keamanan, untuk bekerja dan untuk membangun ... Selama ratusan tahun, Yahudi menikmati kehidupan harmonis di Turki Utsmani. Bahkan, mereka diberikan jabatan chief-rabbi (semacam mufti Yahudi). Mereka menduduki jabatan-jabatan di pemerintahan dan parlemen. Tetapi, pujian Yahudi itu tak berlangsung lama. Sultan Abdul Hamid II yang gigih menentang Zionisme kemudian justru menjadi target utama cacian dan pendongkelan Yahudi Zionis. Mulanya, gerakan Zionis berharap mendapatkan wilayah Palestina secara sukarela dari penguasa Utsmani, yang ketika itu dipimpin oleh Sultan Abdul Hamid II. Seusai menerbitkan bukunya, Der Judenstaat, dan memimpin Kongres Zionis, 1897, Herzl ke Istanbul menemui Perdana Menteri Utsmani dan mempresentasikan rencana pendirian Palestina sebagai tanah air kaum Yahudi. Ia menawarkan bantuan untuk melunasi utang negara Utsmani. Herzl juga melobi Kaisar Austria Wilhelm II yang berhubungan baik dengan Sultan Abdul Hamid II. Kaisar Austria setuju dengan gagasan Herzl dan merekomendasikan rencana Herzl kepada Sultan. Namun, Sultan Abdul Hamid menolak rencana Herzl. Ia menulis surat yang sangat tajam isinya kepada Herzl. Saya tidak dapat menjual walau sejengkal pun dari tanah Palestina, karena ini bukan milikku, tapi milik rakyatku. Sikap tegas Sultan Abdul Hamid terhadap program Zionis dilihat sebagai peng halang utama ambisi untuk mendirikan negara Israel. Adalah menarik cara kerja kaum Yahudi Zionis dalam menumbangkan Sultan dan mendirikan negara Yahudi. Metode yang mereka gunakan adalah semacam smart rebellion dan berpola klendestin. Sultan mulai diposisikan sebagai bagian dari masa lalu, dengan jargon-jargon kebebasan, freedom, liberation, dan sebagainya. Mereka menyebut pemerintahan Abdul Hamid II sebagai Hamidian Absolutism, dan sebagainya. Gerakan Zionis di Turki Utsmani mencapai sukses yang sangat signifikan menyusul pencopotan Sultan pada April 1909. Di antara empat perwakilan National Assembly yang menyerahkan surat pencopotan Sultan itu adalah Emmanuel Carasso (Yahudi) dan Aram (Armenia). Sejak 1908, kekuasaan di Turki praktis berada di tangan Committe and Union Progress (CUP), organisasi yang dibentuk oleh Gerakan Turki Muda (Young Turk Movement). CUP memiliki hubungan dekat dengan para aktivis Zionis, dan tidak terlalu peduli dengan gerakan pemberontakan dan separatisme yang dilakukan Zionis. Smart rebellion Kiprah gerakan Zionis Yahudi di Turki Utsmani dapat dikatakan sebagai suatu bentuk smart rebellion, yang berbeda dengan gerakan-gerkan separatis minoritas lainnya, seperti Armenia. Smart rebellion tidak mengandalkan pada kekuatan senjata dan fisik, tetapi lebih mengandalkan gerakan bawah tanah (clandes- tine). Mereka menyelubungi gerakan Zionis dengan aktivitas berbentuk sosial, ekonomi, kebudayaan, dan pendidikan. Tahun 1899, dua tahun setelah Kongres Zionis per tama, beberapa Yahudi di Salonika mendirikan satu asosiasi yang dikenal dengan nama Kadimah. Kadimah bukan sekadar perkumpulan agama. Kelompok ini bahkan tidak disukai oleh Kepala Rabbi Salonika, sebab ang gota-anggotanya tidak tampak melaku kan aktivitas keagamaan sebagaimana layaknya. Esther Benbassa menyebut Kadimah sebagai gerakan bawah tanah kelompok Zionis. Menyusul Revolusi 1908, CUP mendukung elemen-elemen nasionalis Turki. Sampai pada tahap ini Yahudi menempati posisi penting dalam gerakan Turki Muda atau CUP. Di antara semua kelompok minoritas Turki Utsmani, hanya Yahudi yang menempatkan tokoh-tokohnya pada jajaran pimpinan CUP, seperti Emmanuel Carasso (Karasu) dan Moise Cohen Tekinalp. Semua wakil Yahudi di parlemen pada tahun 1908-1918 adalah anggota CUP. Jadi, CUP adalah penguasa Turki yang sebenarnya setelah Revolusi 1908. Dasar-dasar pendirian gerakan Zionis di Turki Utsmani mengambil saat-saat ini. Gerakan ini dimulai dengan pendirian cabang dari World Zionist Organization di Istambul tahun 1908, di bawah selubung institusi perbankan, The Anglo Levantine Banking Company. Strategi dan taktik gerakan Zionis tampak cerdik. Walaupun menempati posisi-posisi penting di CUP dan parlemen Utsmani, mereka sama sekali tidak mengajukan usulan untuk memisahkan diri dari Utsmani, sebagaimana gerakan minoritas lainnya. Mereka menyokong apa yang dipromosikan oleh CUP, yaitu Turkish nationalism. Seorang penulis Turki, Enver Ziya Karal, mencatat tentang Sultan Abdul Hamid II, Inti segala masalah bagi Sultan adalah Islam, yang merupakan satu-satunya ikatan kuat yang menyambung umat Islam satu sama lain di dalam kekuasaan Utsmani. Sultan Abdul Hamid II memandang, kebebasan yang digalakkan oleh Turki Muda adalah suatu senjata penghancur bagi Turki Utsmani. Ia menuturkan dalam kata-katanya, Memberikan kebebasan sama halnya memberikan senjata kepada seseorang yang tidak tahu bagaimana menggunakannya. Dengan senjata tersebut, orang itu bisa saja membunuh ayahnya, ibunya, bahkan dirinya sendiri. (Mehmed Maksudoglu, Osmanli History, hlm. 234). Sebaliknya, bagi para pemimpin CUP, Barat adalah segala-galanya. Dalam kata- kata Abdullah Cevdet, seorang pendiri CUP, Hanya ada satu peradaban, dan itu adalah peradaban Eropa. Karenanya, kita harus meminjam dari peradaban Barat, baik mawarnya maupun durinya. Abdullah Cevdet juda dikenal sebagai simpatisan Judaisme dan gerakan Zionis. (Lihat, Ilber Ortayli, Ottomanism and Zionism During the Second Constituional Period, dalam Avigdor Levy (ed.), The Jews...hlm. 534). Dengan mencermati secara serius 'Worldview' (Weltanschaung) para tokoh Turki Muda atau CUP antara 1889-1902, Hanioglu sampai pada kesimpulan bahwa ideologi negara Turki modern memang dibangun di atas dasar materialis-positivis dan nasionalisme. Dengan ideologi seperti itu, dan cara pandang yang terBaratkan (westernized), tentu tidak mengherankan Turki Muda bersikap netral terhadap Zionisme, dan membiarkan Palestina dicaplok oleh Yahudi Zionis. Hikmahnya, sebuah imperium besar seperti Turki Utsmani bisa digulung dari dalam, melalui sebuah gerakan pemikiran. Saat generasi tua gagal disekulerkan, maka mereka siapkan Generasi Muda yang sudah tersekulerkan. Generasi inilah yang akhirnya tampil dalam berbagai lini kepemimpinan masyarakat dan negara. Maka ingatlah peringatan Nabi saw, 'Sungguh kalian akan mengikuti sunah- sunah orang-orang sebelum kalian sejengkal demi sejengkal dan sehasta demi sehasta; bahkan jika mereka masuk ke lubang biawak, kalian pun mengikutinya.'

Kami (para sahabat) berkata, 'Wahai Rasulullah, apakah mereka itu Yahudi dan Nashrani?' Beliau menjawab, 'Maka siapa lagi?' (HR Muslim). Jadi, jangan sampai berteriak melawan Yahudi, tapi pola pikir, kurikulum, dan pendidikan kita mengikuti sunah Yahudi yang materialis sekularis dan secara sengaja menyingkirkan, bahkan merusak wahyu Allah SWT. Idk if you’ve already seen this but @missnight0wl made a post about Tulip’s relationship with her parents. Just thought you might be interested seeing how you’re a huge Tulip fan and you’ve talked about her parents too.

Thank you for telling me! I hadn't seen that one and I'm so glad to have found it. Y'all should check it out here because MissNight0wl is amazing, definitely a source of inspiration for me and totally the top analyst of this game and fandom.

Though I vastly appreciate all of the points she brings up and I love the analysis like I always do, I'm not sure I agree. Particularly in light of what we've learned recently, about Tulip's family. That her grandmothers are the only people she feels that she can be herself around, and even in this case, her first instinct is that she must make them proud, it doesn't even occur to her that they don't care about that and just want to spend time with Tulip because they love her. I cannot explain to you how much that broke me.

But because of this...I just don't get the sense that Tulip has ever been shown unconditional love. Sure, she could have mistaken it for something else...but I don't know. I like the interpretation that her parents care about her, but I just don't know if I can see it. Her mentioning that they used to mess around in History of Magic...I mean, Tulip doesn't say that they were the ones who told her this story. For all we know, Mary and Rosa did. I'd say that's more likely. I also don't get the sense that Tulip resents her parents for taking on a dangerous job, though I would love to see that kind of thing explored. She seems to embrace danger. Her complaint was always that they were restrictive and didn't understand her.

Of course, whether or not Tulip's parents are Aurors is another question that has been left up in the air. I always interpreted them as working for the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, like where Crouch used to work...but I'll admit, there's no reason that Aurors couldn't be be the kind of strict, lawful to a fault type of people that the Karasus have been implied to be. But the thing is, if they're Aurors, that leaves open many other implications and opens up a different can of worms. First of all, let's address the elephant in the room: Aurors are magical cops. And all cops are bastards. (Except Tonks, she is the one exception, no I don't take constructive criticism.) I'm not saying that Aurors are automatically part of a broken institution because racism has not evolved in exactly the same way for this world. We don't hear anything about Aurors evolving from a "muggle patrol" or any examples of them discriminating against muggle-borns. Still, there's an allegory here that would be pretty difficult to ignore, and I'm not even sure this franchise is planning to fully ignore it. The Crimes of Grindelwald had some surprising social commentary about it.

Either way, I feel like Tulip is the kind of person who would dislike Aurors for a variety of reasons. I don't personally see her ever joining the Ministry, even if she accepts that Tonks wants to. Not even the Department of Mysteries. I believe she'd have as much personal problems with Aurors as Newt, even if her parents weren't part of that office. And then there's another elephant in the room with this head-canon. The Rotfang Theory. We know that R has infiltrated the Ministry and it's long been speculated that if R is Rotfang, that Tulip's parents are involved. If the Rotfang Theory is true, and her parents are indeed Aurors...well, I'm not saying they'd be members, but they would have to be involved in that particular storyline. It could also explain why they've received cursed objects in the past. Like I said, I don't know if the Potterverse is planning on ignoring the unfortunate status of Aurors as magical cops. Obviously, Jam City couldn't have known about George Floyd and everything that has resulted from his murder at the point they planned the skeleton and outline of this game...but it's not like George was the first. If R is truthfully orchestrated by corrupt cops...that would actually be pretty awesome.

Anyway, I just don't think there's enough evidence, personally, that Tulip's parents are good people. Even the fact that she and Merula were drawn to each other is almost a kind of thematic parallel. Though we haven't met any of these parents, I feel like Tulip's family would be a lawful echo of Merula's family. One thing MissNight0wl's post did help me realize though, is that Tulip actually does talk about her parents more often than I thought. Still, it's always distant, and I hesitate to chalk up everything to just "teenage rebellion" Tulip didn't just rebel, she befriended someone like Merula Snyde. She doesn't just play pranks, she actively sought out danger and glory. I don't know how bad her parents are, but this is so much more serious than just them being strict and her acting out because of it.
