“Dear Peter,
I have been a fan of the show and your music since the original airings. I recently got both box sets of the series (from Australia) and have to say they are as funny now as originally intended. I had forgotten how many Hollywood actors appeared with you all. Did you have a favorite?
Jim, NY”
“Dear Jim,
Well, no, not exactly. I must say the one I was most impressed to be playing with was Lon Chaney, Jr. He had the most impressive credentials, as far as I was concerned, particularly when you include his heritage; his father, Lon Chaney, Sr., was the great Man of a Thousand Faces. We don’t see his work too often anymore, since he worked in the silent era, but he was one of the greats of all time. Jr., in addition to the glory of having been on a Monkees episode, was the great star of Of Mice and Men.
You mentioned Reginald Gardiner, whom I cast in the episode I directed, ‘Monkees Mind Their Manor.’ [More about that episode here.] He, of course, was a delight to work with. We mustn’t forget Ann Marie, who worked with us twice! There were more, too, than I can safely name who became bigger stars after they played on The Monkees. But the guy who was the favorite on the set has to have been Stan Freberg. He was as wild on the set as he was on screen. I grew up practically venerating Stan Freberg as the master satirist. He did about five satires on the old Dragnet radio show alone! Some of his riffs became bywords on the set after he left, particularly a quick, dry ‘Don’t do that!’ at odd moments, which cracked us up.
You do bring up memories!
Thanks
Peter” - Ask Peter Tork, The Daily Panic, 2009
Finally watching The Vampire Diaries. Someone pls tell me it's worth it, bc I'm lowkey only watching it for Rose 😼. And she doesn't come in till mid season 2 😭.

“‘Whether you like them or hate them, there’s one thing you have to admit: each on is a real individual, and together they’re a great combination.’
So says Rose Marie, who just finished taping her second appearance with ‘them’ — the Monkees. The blonde comedienne, who admits that she is one who likes them, had appeared as guest star on the ‘Monkee Mother’ episode that will be shown on Monday.
[…] In real life Rose Marie — whose television appearances so often portray her as the single, man-hunting female — has a teen-age daughter.
‘Maybe that’s one reason I got along with them so well,’ she says. ‘That doesn’t mean I’m an expert on understanding the younger generation, but I did meet them with an open mind.’
The first time Rose Marie met them was last summer. […] Rose Marie’s professionalism and open-mindedness then must have impressed Micky, Mike, Peter, and Davy. As one, they proclaimed her ‘too much.’ (Translation: they liked and respected her.)
The feeling was mutual. Rose Marie invited the boys and director Jim Frawley to be her guests at the theater [an L.A. production of ‘Bye Bye Birdie’] — and they came. ‘That touched me,’ she recalls. It also made her eager to be in another Monkees show.
[…] ‘The boys are talented and fun to work with,’ she says. ‘I guess the greatest compliment came from Davy Jones — he’s the one who played in ‘Oliver’ — who said something that I just might hold him to!’
What he said was: ‘As soon as I get enough money, I want to produce a Broadway show with you in it.’” - Valley Times, March 17, 1967
She was always there for her ungrateful niece and nephew and was just a nice person all along. Her main goal was always to help them, even if it was extremely hard to combine parenting with studying and she tried to be as calm and understanding as possible. Rip, Aunt Jenna.
Alexia 'Lexi' Branson
Whoever you are, you just can't hate Lexi. Hating Lexi is a crime. She was nice, friendly and spent about every minute of her screen time helping her best friend Stefan, her devotion to their friendship went beyond life and death. Even when she was at risk of disappearing she was willing to vanish completely than act selfish towards Stefan and his feelings.
Rosemarie aka Rose
Little is known about Rose but what we know is, she spent five centuries running from Klaus because of her loyalty to her best friend, and even Elijah respected that. As she joined Scooby gang she tried to help them despite not having reasons to, and was helping them even from the Other side.
Lorenzo 'Enzo' St.John
Enzo is great example of loyalty, which he demonstrated by staying loyal to Damon who literally left him to die in fire and neglected him more than once after their reunion. But his loyalty has Slytherin-ish shade in it, and he is more than willing to murder innocents if it helps those he loves. Additionally, Enzo has cunning nature and is willing to get his hands dirty if needed.
Malachai 'Kai' Parker
Kai is in possession of the whole bunch of Slytherin-material traits. He wanted to prove his worth and become the leader of the coven, showing his ambition; Kai has literally no ideas of good and bad, and it makes it easy for him to do whatever is needed to reach his goals; as a sociopath Kai was perfectly okay with hurting other for fun his own benefit. Kai has peculiar intellect that helps him to manipulate others and to get his way.
