As usual three songs for three stories/characters/themes below.
First song up is for Abigail Emmet, the mother of Mario, and just as much as a terrifying alien soul-and-meat-eating shapeshifter as he is. She's been around for a while, even hitching with the Van der Linde Gang as the third founding (adult) member, sticking with it until she and Molly got the hell out of there after witnessing the effect Hosea's death had on Dutch and Micah being a rat. Saddening that Abigail outlived Molly (given her alien origins), but she never once stopped thinking fondly about the O'Shea poet, even when raising Mario. This song absolutely details her longing for Molly, while also letting go for the sake of Mario.

"Lately, I've been waking up In a dreamy state, calling your name Stayed up too late just thinking of you Now I'm knocking on every door 'Cause I heard you moved from twenty-two Has it been that long? I guess time just flew
I've got voices in my head and there's a deafening silence I've got voices in my head and I can't lie
I've been holding on to pieces Swimming in the deep end Tryna find my way back to you 'cause I'm needing A little bit of love A little bit of love, I need a little love Just like the air I'm breathing These open wounds ain't healing Tryna find my way back to you 'cause I'm needing A little bit of love A little bit of love, a little bit of love A little bit of love
I tried to fly but I used my wings too soon Now everything got me thinking of you I tried a million times to cut you loose."
Next up, a song for Silva's Hope and maybe a bit of Old Dusk, the two main stories for Silva in Far Cry The Silver Chronicles. I think it just fits the religious themes found in the fics' and the game, but also twisting it to reveal the darker and lighter aspects that not only come off as seductive but reveal what's exactly underneath the surface of the Voice's Prophecy and the Collapse, and whether it's better to choose the safer path and obey the prophecy while risking loss of identity and restricted by extremely controlling expectations that are unrealistic or take the risk and step out of the status quo for the sake of having the freedom to choose and to defy a fate other's push onto themselves and their neighbors, all the while having to contend with the possibility of being lost in the unknown.
youtube
"Call me wild, drinkin' up the sunshine Be my man and show me what it feels like Denim sky, unbuttoned down the middle Spillin' out little by little
Tiger on the prowl East of Eden Comin' for you now
Keep me from the cages under the control Runnin' in the dark to find east of Eden Keep me from the cages under the control Runnin' in the dark to find east of Eden
To find east of Eden (Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh) To find east of Eden (Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh) To find east of Eden (Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh) To find east of Eden (Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh)
If I wanted to stay You don't mind, you're a true believer (True believer) Take it up with the badlands Creep on in like a concrete fever
If I wanted to stay You don't mind, you're a true believer (True believer) Take it up with the badlands Creep on in like a concrete fever."
And finally something for the antagonists. Ranging from the charming yet arrogant Edward Carmine to the callous and controlling Zachariah from The UnTitledverse. From the hypocritical monster that is Father Adam Omar to the fatalistic pessimism that fuels Paul Yellowjack's miserable self-loathing in Far Cry The Silver Chronicles. From the Court King who wants to conquer his worlds back, to the Director of the Midnight Rise, Sir Enigma Malvolio, who brings despair wherever his expeditions take him throughout Life, Despair & Monsters. From the well-meaning extremist Xiang Ba'al to the Mad God of Carnage himself, Discord in the originals works that will diverge from Wings And Horns. There are many more of interest, but the list is as tall as the rest of my original characters. But one commonality can be found with these characters... a question that evades an answer... will they ever be satisfied after reaching their goals? Or... will they go further until they've crashed and burned?
ALSO! TW: There is brief mention of suicidal idealization in one verse with probably more mature themes hidden in the lyrics. Just putting it out there to be weary listening and reading.
youtube
"I was pulling out my hair The day I got the deal Chemically calm Was I meant to feel happy That my life was just about to change?
One life pretending to be The cat who got the cream Oh, everybody said, "Marina is a dreamer" People like to tell you what you're gonna be It's not my problem if you don't see what I see And I do not give a damn if you don't believe
My problem, it's my problem that I never am happy It's my problem, it's my problem on how fast I will succeed
Are you satisfied with an average life? Do I need to lie to make my way in life?
High achiever, don't you see? Baby, nothing comes for free They say I'm a control freak Driven by a greed to succeed Nobody can stop me
'Cause it's my problem if I wanna pack up and run away It's my business if I feel the need to smoke and drink and sway It's my problem, it's my problem if I feel the need to hide And it's my problem if I have no friends and feel I want to die
Are you satisfied with an average life? Do I need to lie to make my way in life? Are you satisfied with an easy ride? Once you cross the line, will you be satisfied?
Sad inside, in this life Unsatisfied, praying Sad inside, in this life Unsatisfied, waiting
Are you satisfied with an average life? Do I need to lie to make my way in life? Are you satisfied with an easy ride? Once you cross the line, will you be satisfied?
Black, white (Are you satisfied, are you satisfied? Are you satisfied?) Are you satisfied? Black, white (Are you satisfied, are you satisfied?) Black, white (Are you satisfied, are you satisfied?) Are you satisfied? Black, white."

Game Assets Notes
These are plants shown in Dragon Age but aren't named in universe, just in their model files or through identification of the textures. Since most filler plant textures are just that of real world plants.
**NOTE:** When I mention they are not the known name of any plant, this comes with the caveat of being popular common names. Common names are highly variable and inconsistent. They depend on regional knowledge and association. Some travel farther than others. Common names are also not reliable identifiers.
Acacia: Black Wood ~ Note: Black Wood is a type of acacia. Both acacia and black wood are named assets.
Artichoke ~ Note: Identification comes from asset name, the artichoke flower is used as ornamentation of a box.
Banyan Tree
Boxwood ~ A type of shrub, identification comes from asset name.
Bradford Pear ~ Their fruits are edible, however their flowers are known to emit a smell akin to rotting meat. Identification comes from asset name.
Calla Lily ~ Note: Not named but identified by the texture used. It is seen in Val Royeaux planters.
Cattail ~ Note: Seen through out DAO and DAI, identification comes from asset name.
Coleus ~ Note: Not named but identified by the texture used. It is seen in Val Royeaux planters and in the Frostback Basin.
Crape Myrtle
Cypress: Italian Cypress, Topiary Cypress ~ Note: In terms of the Italian Cypress, in world it wouldl likely be called the "Antivan Cypress" given that Antiva is pulling from Italian culture, food, environments, and other inspirational elements. Cypress is a plant that is named in canon.
Daikon Radish ~ Note: Found on Dennet's farm, identification comes from asset name.
Dogwood
Elephant Ear ~ Note: Foliage found in the Frostback Basin, identification comes from asset name.
Fade Berry
Fern: Red Fern, Sword Fern ~ Note: The red fern isn't a real plant and therefore can be considered unique to Thedas. In contrast the sword fern is a real plant. Identification comes from the asset name for both of these ferns.
Forest Clover
Foxleaf ~ Note: This is another plant that is not real, no plant has this common name as far as I could find.
Gasbloom ~ Note: Seen in the Arbor Wilds, the Frostback Basin some elven ruins, and the elven ruins of multiplayer levels. Their identification comes from the asset name. There are two versions of the texture the "fixed" version is used in JoH dlc and thus explains the difference in appearance. This is not the name of a known mushroom.
Hero Tree
Palm: Curly Palm, Fan Palm ~ Note: Both palms are seen in the Frostback Basin, both are identified by their named assets.
Pear Cactus ~ Note: Found in the Frostback Basin, identification comes from the asset name.
Pine: Chir Pine
Ponga Tree ~ Note: Also known as the 'Tree Fern'. This is the tree you see in Val Royeaux garden as coming from Par Vollen, and throughout the Arbor Wilds.
Redwood ~ Note: Identified by the name of the file asset. Found in the Winter Palace, Exalted Plains, and on multiplayer maps.
Snapdragon
Trex
Waterweed ~ Note: In real life this is an entire genus not one particular plant. Though the six plants in this genus do share the common name of waterweed.
White Birch
Witchhazel
Additional Notes and Trivia
Ironwood - Unclear if this is an alternative name, the actual name of the plant, or both.
Morel - This mushroom is inferred due to the existence of Blighted Morel. However it is not explicitly specified there is a non-blighted morel.
Sponge Root - Though canonical as it is mentioned and shown in World of Thedas vol. 2 on pg. 138 with a collection of deep mushroom and surface mushroom illustrations. This mushroom was cut twice from Inquisition. It was cut from the base game as a craftable, it had a much different appearance from its final design, and then it was cut again from Trespasser. It does however still make an appearance in Inquisition as the inventory icon for Crystal Grace.
Unnamed Glowing Mushroom Is mentioned in multiplayer when there are two Lukas playing.
Unnamed Mushroom These brown mushrooms are seen in the Fallow Mire and the Frostback Basin. They are shown in two different sizes ranging from shorter than a dwarf to taller than one.
There is one unlisted mushroom, its assets is named "red mushroom" and thus is identified by textures. These is not a canon name but is included for completeness. Amanita Muscaria: More commonly know as fly agaric or fly amanita, the red top with white spots is an iconic in its imagery. You will find large swaths of these mushrooms in the Frostback Basin. Their assets is named "Red Mushroom".
Winterberry is a real plant. However, from what we see in DA2, it does not the same as the plant we have in the real world, just a shared common name.
Wormroot is another real plant name. However, due to the description in The Calling, it does not seem to be the same plant. In The Calling it is used to treat the venom of a giant spider. The real world plant is used to treat parasites in the gut and does not seem to hold any shared uses in folk lore, folk medicine, or western medicine practices.

Open Starter//Clint---CLOSED
How many months had it been since he had arrived in Redwood? Keeping track of time wasn't ever Clint's strong suit even before the world ended but the ever increasing temperature told him that it must have been somewhere around mid summer. Part of him wanted to continue with just keeping to himself, keep his head down, do what he needed to and keep his distance. But the other part knew he needed to start making connections, get to know others before he was actually labeled a hermit, without any sort of connection his place here was shaky at best and he had seen how quickly the tables turned with one accusation or another targeted at the loner. Not to mention there was another part of him that missed interacting with people, it had almost been a year since it was just him and Luna, and to be completely honest she didn't always hold the best conversation. He was visible enough with his position as outside security, doing his rounds near the outer walls, making sure everything was secure, he could tell people were still wary of him, as much as he shared the sentiment it was going to be expected that he make the first move.
Meandering to the sink, he splashed his face with water and did his best to slick his hair out of his face before he started out the door, beckoning the dog with a "C'mon" and a jerk of his head towards the door.
The two made their way down the long path that wound through the trees and opened up to a clearing that opened up and lead to the center of the little town that was established. As he walked, kicking up dirt with his boots, he thought of where he should go, maybe he should become familiar with the area first, see what was around. When he was first accepted in, his main priority was getting the old cabin repaired to a state where it could actually be lived, everything else came second and exploring the area was something he definitely let fall by the wayside.
He thought the community center would be too crowded, too many people meant he had no hope on focusing on one over the other, the junkyard was also where people worked, he was sure he would get plenty of side-eyes just wandering in there. Coming into the community square the garden caught his attention. There were a couple people scattered around, tending to the garden beds, he was actually quite impressed with how well it seemed to be doing and found himself walking towards it. Coming across a plot he knelt down and noticed some tiny white strawberries laying in the dirt, nearby were some herbs including rosemary. He brushed his hands against the flexible branches and smelled his hand to catch the familiar aroma.

Just redrew a few characters from the Rudolf universe cuz I couldn't stand them in the style I did in my old 2021 art ew. Anyway for a refresher this is believe it or not a father and his daughter- Redwood and Rosemary (who go by the nicknames Big Red and Little Red respectively)
Redwood is an absolute fucking unit of an Avios deer who’s Santa's personal steed for when old Claus just needs to visit nearby places or make small deliveries that don’t require him to pack his sleigh. Minus the antlers he’s about the size of a draft horse and towers over EVERY reindeer, Luminos and Avios alike. He's the definition of a gentle giant who dotes on his daughter and tells terrible dad jokes.
On the topic of his itty bitty daughter, Rosemary is shorter than the average Avios calf due to her having dwarfism. Unfortunately this led to her mom being an ableist bitch and leaving her husband and daughter due to believing Little Red would be useless in pulling Santa’s sleigh when she’s older, and even accused Big Red of cheating on her with a Luminos deer. Naturally Big Red divorced her and raised Little Red just fine without her abusive harpy of a mom around.

Sabbats: Lughnasadh Basics and Correspondences
Lughnasadh is one of the four Celtic Cross Quarter Festivals, also referred to as the fire festivals. It is the first of three harvest festivals held in the fall. As the grain and corn are gathered and preserved for the season, farmers celebrated the last of the long and warm days of summer.
The cross quarters are linked to an old farming calendar. This was a time when people were very close to the land and their lives were governed by the changing of the seasons and the need to grow enough food to survive. Modern Irish Gaelic calls the month of August Lúnasa which is the modern variation of Lughnasadh. The name originates from Lugh, a mythological hero to some, sun god to others.

Odd- Kili Durin x OC
Kili Durin x Rosemary Fairbairn
Description: Gandalf wants to add another Hobbit to the Company, one that was known around the Shire for being odd and unpredictable.
Word Count: 1.7k
“Gandalf, are you sure this is a good idea?” Bilbo asked unsurely as the Company of Thorin Oakenshield grew closer to the border of the Shire.
“Yes, I quite am,” the Gray Wizard responded nonchalantly.
“Rosemary Fairbairn?” The Hobbit repeated incredulously.
“Yes,” Gandalf repeated as well. “Does that pose a problem to you, Bilbo Baggins?”
“Well, no,” Bilbo started, then was cut off by the old man.
“Then it’s settled.” A smile appeared on his face as he ignored the quiet huff that the Hobbit let out.
“Is there a reason you’re so against her joining the quest? Is there something wrong with her?” Fili asked, saying what everyone else was thinking. An awkward blush appeared on Bilbo’s face and he cleared his throat.
“Well she’s uh… she doesn’t get out much, I’m pretty sure I’ve only ever seen her a few times in my life,” he explained. “And she’s a rather odd person. And even when she does come to town, her behavior is queer and unpredictable. It’s very disconcerting. I believe that’s why she’s basically become a hermit over the years.”
“She’s not that bad,” Bellarose suddenly cut in defensively. “She’s just…different from everyone else.”
“And why is that?” Asked Bofur. This time Gandalf was the one to answer again.
“Well, Miss Fairbairn was born with magical powers. Ones similar to that of a Witch or even a Fairy,” he explained. “No one knows how - some say she was blessed by the gods because her mother always made offerings to them, but no one can say for sure. Nevertheless, it is that oddity that made her an outcast amongst Hobbits.”
“Despite all of that, however, she is a rather nice person and an enjoyable presence to be in,” Bellarose added quickly. “I’ve stopped by for tea when I’m near Farmer Maggot’s farm and she’s never once been rude or hateful.”
“Not to mention the fact that she is exceptionally skilled with her powers in both defensive and offensive magic,” the Wizard concluded. Kili had to admit that this girl had piqued his interest. He didn’t know much about Hobbits, but he had learned in the short time that he’d been in the Shire that there’s more to them than it may seem.
They reached the border of the Shire before they knew it and were met with a quaint looking cottage. It was relatively small compared to Bag End, but of course that’s because Bagginses come from money while this Rosemary Fairbairn didn’t. Upon arriving at the small redwood fence that surrounded the house Gandalf dismounted his horse then looked around, trying to decide who would go with him to her front door. Only Thorin, Fili, Kili and Bellarose ended up going, the rest opting to stay behind so Rosemary didn’t get overwhelmed.
“You’re sure this is a good idea?” Bilbo asked hesitantly, trying one last time to make them just move on.
“Without a doubt,” the Wizard answered before leaning down a bit and knocking on the door with his staff. It took a minute before the door opened, but when it did Kili had to stop himself from gasping aloud. The Hobbit that stood in front of them was quite possibly one of the most beautiful creatures he’d ever seen. Her light blonde hair almost looked like a halo that surrounded her gorgeous face and her blue eyes were both bright and brilliant, reminding him of a clear ocean or cloudless sky. Those beautiful blue eyes widened upon realizing the rather odd looking group that stood in front of her, though she couldn’t say anything before Gandalf spoke.
“Good morning, Miss Fairbairn,” he greeted with a polite smile. At first the girl could only stand there in surprise, but she eventually managed to respond.
“Uh, good morning Gandalf,” she returned slowly, eyes on the three Dwarves that stood beside him. “To what do I owe the pleasure?”
“Well, I - we have come to ask you a question,” Gandalf answered. Rosemary nodded, albeit in confusion.
“Alright then. Uh, please, come in,” she opened the door wider and allowed them inside, offering them a courteous smile as they passed her.
“We cannot stay here long,” the one who seemed to be the leader muttered to Gandalf, earning a nod from the Wizard before he faced the girl.
“I’m afraid introductions must be quick as we are in a time crunch. So, allow me to introduce you to Thorin Oakenshield, and his nephews  Fili and Kili Durin. Of course you are already acquainted with Miss Baggins.” Rosemary nodded, smiling at Bellarose for a moment before looking at the three Dwarves.
“It is wonderful to meet you all,” she said with a genuine smile, which made Kili grin absentmindedly at her. The sight made her blush and avert her gaze.
“We have come here with a proposition, Miss Fairbairn,” Gandalf spoke for everyone, which visibly piqued her interest.
“What sort of proposition?” She asked curiously.
“We are looking for someone who works with magic to help us complete a quest,” Kili spoke up, which made her head tilt in confusion.
“Is that not why Gandalf is with you?”
“Yes, but I may not always be with them, so we need someone to fill in the position when that happens. I believe that you would be right for the job.”
“What sort of quest is it?”
It took them no more than ten minutes to explain what was going on (though they didn’t disclose too much information on the chance that she said no). Rosemary stayed silent throughout the exposition, making sure she heard everything they said. She wanted to fully understand what she would possibly be getting into. When they were finished, they allowed her a moment to think over everything she’d just heard before she said anything.
“I-I don’t know Gandalf… I doubt any of you would want to be in the presence of a weird and unpredictable person,” she said hesitantly, almost as if she’d heard the words a thousand times. No one missed the way Bilbo looked away shamefully. No one said anything at first, not exactly knowing what to say.
“On the contrary, I believe you will do quite well amongst our Company,” Kili suddenly spoke, which made all eyes turn to him.
“Really?” Rosemary asked, surprised.
“Of course. Gandalf says that you’re a skilled magic user in any situation, which could be of more use than any of us may think. Even if not, doesn’t an adventure sound amazing? It could give you a new perspective on everything.Don’t you want to get out of the place that’s scorned you since you were young, even if for a little while?” Bellarose looked like she was ready to throttle Kili for his nonchalant rudeness based on her glare in his direction, but Rosemary didn’t notice it as she thought over his words. She still looked hesitant, so Kili took a step closer to her and met her eyes.
“Miss Fairbairn, you won’t have to worry about being odd or an outcast with us,” he continued in a much softer tone. “There will be no one to judge you harshly or otherwise because no one has room to.” That seemed to finally push her to make up her mind because she offered him a small smile.
“Alright. I’ll go.” Her response caused the others to smile in unison.
“I suggest you get to packing because we are leaving as soon as you join us,” Gandalf said jovially. “We will be waiting outside for you.” The others nodded in agreement and with that, everyone walked out of the house one by one - well, everyone but Kili. Rosemary shot him a confused look, only to be met with his (admittedly) charming smile.
“Thank you for agreeing to this. I promise you won’t regret it,” he said. A small laugh left her lips as she headed for her bedroom.
“Well for your sake, I hope I won’t. You’re very persuasive,” she spoke as she pulled a luggage bag out and began packing.
“Well thank you, I’ve had seventy-seven years to perfect the craft,” he answered smoothly, leaning against the doorway with a small smile. The mention of his age momentarily made her pause before she continued on.
“Is that how you managed to find a place in the Company,” she joked lightly.
“Amongst other things,” he played along. “Such as my good looks.” That earned a giggle from the girl and she shook her head at him. Rosemary quite liked how easy it was to talk to Kili. She didn’t get conversations like that with other Hobbits. The only exception was Bellarose, but even then they were few and far between.
“You definitely have those,” she spoke before thinking. Upon realizing what she said she froze in the middle of folding a shirt, a deep blush coating the apples of her cheeks. At first she dared not to look at the Dwarf in embarrassment, but then she spared a glance at him out of the corner of her eye as she continued to pack. She was surprised to see that he was now sporting a toothy grin on his face.
“You think so?” Rosemary could hear the hopefulness in his tone despite how hard he tried to hide it. At that moment she remembered Bellarose telling her about how sacred a Dwarf’s beard is. It wasn’t difficult to come to the conclusion that Kili’s beard (or lack thereof) made him a bit insecure, which made her sad for him because he was rather handsome.
“Of course,” she answered immediately as she closed her bag and slung it over her shoulder. “I usually prefer a man with no beard.” Kili said nothing but instead nodded with a giddy smile on his face.
“Well, are you ready?” He asked.
“Yep,” Rosemary answered with a nod. She began to walk out of the room but stopped when Kili carefully grabbed her bag and opted to carry it for her. A smile formed on the girl’s face as she followed him out of the house to the biggest adventure of her life. She desperately hoped that Kili would be right, but she had a feeling that he wasn’t the type to deceive her. That was why she’d decided to go, and she would come to realize that the youngest Dwarf was in fact right.

The Taste Of Rot
The cold texture of redwood bark. A great, calm thing, somewhere saturated, dark, and deeply visceral. The overgrown and rotten persimmons; and the sharp leaves that fall from the rotten wood.
The taste of bitter rosemary. Of a verdant, mossy, infested place. The churning underbelly of an ecosystem laid bare, its intricacies drowned out with plague and famine.
The poison of memory, of a fading thing running rampant. The last anima of vitriol and hatred forced to hide against the edge of oblivion. An unrequited symphony, and the loss of coda.

Nature’s Ornaments
“There is material enough in a single flower for the ornaments of a score of cathedrals.”
                                                            John Ruskin
Like so many Americans, the day after Thanksgiving I pulled out my stored Christmas décor. I’m not one to shop on Black Friday, preferring not to fight the crowds for sale items that I don’t need. Instead, I chose to bask in the deliciousness of autumn by spending time meandering around my garden with my adopted animals in tow, deciding where to display my holiday treasures. It was a beautiful clear, warm day with a gentle breeze that tickled the leaves to fall like feathers. Songbirds caroled as hawks circled above in the air currents.  As I inhaled the fragrance of pine needles, I exhaled joy and gratitude for such natural splendor.
What I realized was that Mother Nature had already decorated my landscape for the holidays with colorful leaves carpeting the flower beds and blooming white chrysanthemums imitating snow. The merry berry bushes of nandina, cotoneaster, and pyracantha were chock full of fiery red fruit favored by wildlife. Hachiya persimmons resembled bright orange ornaments hanging on the near-bare branches. I mistook a lone red pomegranate hanging from the golden-leafed tree for a crimson Christmas bulb. Sprays of yellow Meyer lemons glowed like sunshine, while azalea bushes sported leaves in rainbow hues. I climbed the hillside steps to marvel at the multitude of cherry-pink pistache berries flanked by the redwood tree that the squirrels had not devoured this year. In the foreground, my weathervane of a prancing deer reminded me of Dancer flying through the night sky.
I hung gold and red giant ornaments on my Japanese Maples. They glistened in the afternoon glare, yet these trinkets made by humans could not compare to what Mother Nature had already designed.
Many people seek a Christmas tree or Hannukah bush to brighten their homes in December. Every tree is a perfect tree, even those Charlie Brown ones, especially if a child chooses. If possible, buy a living tree that can be placed on your patio after the holidays are over this year and be reused for the next festivity.
When considering trees, it’s essential to also think about safety. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, last year over 15,000 people ended up in the emergency room due to decorating falls, burns, cuts, strains, and electrical shocks.
Here are a few suggestions to decorate safely:
ü  Light your yuletide with the freshest tree whether you buy a tree from a lot or cut one yourself. Look for ultra-green needles that are not falling off the tree. Shake the tree and if the needles stay put, you have a winner.
ü  If your tree is not a living tree, soak your tree for 24 hours before installing it and keep the basin always filled with water.
ü  Keep all trees, branches, and flammable decorations away from fireplaces, radiators, and high-traffic areas.
ü  Hang stockings on chimneys only when there is no fire burning.
ü  Buy new lights that have been tested by the Underwriters Laboratory (UL). Make sure that lights for your garden are labeled as outdoor capable. All lights need good wiring, devoid of any broken or cracked sockets, frayed wires, or loose connections.  Only use extension cords that are designed for the outdoors and beware of the number of light sets that may be attached.
ü  Never add electric lights to metallic ornamentations as you could be exposing yourself to electrocution.
ü  When climbing ladders, use the buddy system.
ü  Unplug lights and all electrical devices whenever you leave the premises and especially when you go to bed.
 Goddess Gardener December Garden Tips
ü  CONSIDER purchasing a living Christmas tree instead of a cut one. Garden centers have a selection of cypress, pine, fir, and even rosemary clipped to resemble a Christmas tree. Place your tree in a charming copper container or wrap it with festive fabric. Live trees will survive year after year and prices are reasonable.
ü  FERTILIZE shrubs and trees after all the leaves have fallen to provide food to last for the season.
ü  RAKE the overabundance of leaves in your gardens to add to the compost pile.
ü  RESEED lawns with Pearl’s Premium Ultra Low Maintenance Lawn Seed if you are keeping a lawn. The roots grow down to six feet with 75% less water, and no chemicals are needed which keeps children, animals, pollinators, and biodiversity safer. Pearl’s Premium lawn seed sequesters 10 times the carbon compared to shallow root grass. Best of all, scatter it over your existing grass to outcompete everything. www.PearlsPremium.com
ü  GATHER pinecones, berries, twigs, and grasses to add to your arrangements.
ü  ATTRACT birds to your backyard throughout the cold months by keeping feeders filled and baths ready.
ü  PICK persimmons, pomegranates, quince, and lemons to use in displays and holiday cooking.
ü  PRUNE dormant fruit trees including peach, apricot, prune, plum, apple, and pear. Save the wood for barbecues next summer.
ü  LIGHT up your decorations with battery-powered twinkle lights, or other outdoor lights set to timers. Trees trimmed with lights inspire delight.
ü  HARVEST cauliflower, broccoli, and Brussels sprouts.
ü  ALLOW rosehips and berries to remain on the bushes as holiday bird feasts and picturesque ornaments.
Nature provides enough material to decorate the holidays with ornaments as glorious as cathedrals. Embrace them as part of your festivities.
Happy Gardening. Happy Growing. Happy Holidays!

too many times i've cried in my bed, nighttime, i've been catching my rhyme with rosemary and thyme
too many never any, rendez-vous were never what I've been used to, in my shoes you get lonely and abused too
found out that when you cry you're stronger cause you leave nothing under
they told me lies all along, cause I've been crying alone, and hence I've been strong.
you don't know me, yet you try me, my heart's a stone that I try to digest everyday
my mind's a redwood with new leaves everyday, with new roots everyday won't resign, not today.
there were too many times I tried to escape my own system of mind rape. but it's too clever, too well made, I'm the creature, of the raid.

My family has various fruit/citrus trees in their yard. We also have rosemary, redwood sorrel, spearmint (wilting), and many rose bunches. I am so grateful to be so close to such useful medicinal items. As I sip this bitter sorrel tea, I know I am lucky.

How to Design a Deck Garden
Imagine harvesting fresh greens without getting your shoes dirty or relaxing on your deck surrounded by the tantalizing aromas of lavender, rosemary, and thyme!
Having a Kansas City deck garden can enhance the splendor of your outdoor living space by creating a level of beauty and convenience a yard garden can’t deliver.
The best part about including a garden in your original deck design is all the money you’ll save compared to hiring a contractor later to handle the project separately.
Enjoy fresh produce just a few steps from your kitchen door!
If you’re concerned about your deck becoming a filthy mess because of the dirt
Don’t worry! The following Kansas City deck garden designs keep your outdoor living space clean and tidy.
Raised beds positioned alongside your deck’s border.
When your garden is built on the perimeter of your deck, you’ll be living a gardener’s dream! Not only will you be surrounded by tasty produce, but you’ll enjoy harvesting without getting your shoes muddy. However, there are a few construction specifications that need to be covered.
If your new deck is built out of composite wood, the raised garden boxes can be made of the same material to match the deck. However, if you want the garden beds constructed from natural wood, your best bet is to go with redwood, cedar, black locust, and white oak because they’re naturally resistant to rot. Of course, you can always choose to have the raised boxes designed with stone masonry to create a Kansas City deck garden that will last a lifetime!
Deck railings provide unique gardening space!
Choosing to design your deck with a narrow railing will allow you to hang baskets of herbs, edible flowers, and other tastebud temptations. Taking advantage of your railings in this manner will keep your decking boards from becoming dangerously cluttered with potted plants.
Create a hanging garden using arbors and pergolas!
Including an arbor or pergola in your deck design will provide dedicated gardening space. Enjoying fresh cucumbers, grapes, and Gogi berries is easy when you have a trellis-like structure to grow them on. Furthermore, the pergola’s slats are perfect for hanging baskets of strawberries and tomato plants.
No matter how you incorporate this feature into your Kansas City deck garden design, ensure the arbor or pergola will be erected on the side that receives the most sunshine.
You can make the pergola even more functional by choosing to construct built-in seating on the inside of the structure so that you can have shelving for a potted garden. Consider adding this feature to your deck to create unlimited gardening space and keep your outdoor retreat free of tripping hazards.
Furthermore, during the winter, when your garden is dormant, you’ll have more than enough seating for your holiday party guests!
A tiered deck garden makes growing your favorite veggies easy!
This creative design will keep your plants neatly separated and organized. Building steps that lead directly from the deck to the garden will deliver a level of convenience you’ve never experienced before. You’ll never tire of the beauty this strategically designed deck garden brings to your outdoor retreat!
Experience the delicious luxury of a Kansas City deck garden!
Choosing to go with a deck garden design opens a world of tasty possibilities!
Of all the design details already discussed, it’s important to remember that edible and floral gardens require at least six hours of sun to produce the fruits, veggies, and flowers you and your family love. Keeping this in mind, position your garden within the deck design to ensure the plants will receive enough sunlight.
If it’s impossible to build a deck within the budget that isn’t consumed by shade due to trees surrounding your home, adding a patio to the design that extends away from the deck may enable you to garden in the sunshine.
You can even build raised garden boxes on the patio to harvest fresh produce without breaking your back.
If you want an expertly designed Kansas City deck garden that will make it fun and easy to grow fresh food and show-stopping flowers, All-Weather Decks is eager to help you create your dream deck garden.
Adding a garden to your deck is smart because growing your produce will save you money considering the rising cost of grocery items. Additionally, when growing your veggies, you’ll know that the food on your plate is genuinely organic.
You can trust All Weather Decks to create the deck garden you’ve dreamed of. Our designers love hearing your ideas, then incorporating them into unique designs. We couldn’t be more proud of the numerous awards and encourage everyone to read the reviews from homeowners in the Greater Kansas City area who are thrilled to be enjoying the outdoor living spaces we made possible.

Forest Clover
Snapdragon
Sword Fern ~ Note: The identification comes from the asset name. It is found in the JoH DLC.
Trex
Waterweed ~ Note: In real life this is an entire genus not one particular plant. Though the six plants in this genus do share the common name of waterweed.
White Birch
Witchhazel
Additional Notes and Trivia
Morel - This mushroom is inferred due to the existence of Blighted Morel. However it is not explicitly specified there is a non-blighted morel.
