This article is an incredible read about how elite private school culture in Australia fosters male violence. In light of Lilie James murder by Paul Thijssen [her ex-boyfriend], there's been a renewed focus on intimate partner violence and the culture that creates.

The day I found out about her death I was extremely upset, especially considering that she's even younger than me. It reminds me greatly of the murder of Hannah Clarke by her estranged husband, Rowan Baxter, as it likewise involved a brutal murder-suicide.

The fact that Thijssen committed suicide after his brutal murder of Lilie and is receiving any sort of sympathy is abhorrent. In a country where there's a high domestic violence rate, coupled with rates of murder-suicide by male perpetrators, I can't even begin to describe my outrage.

“Are you telling me you just… had that on you? Just in case you wanted to invite a random woman to go dancing with you -” she gestured exaggeratedly at their surroundings, “in the middle of a field?”

Rowan:

“Most useful thing I had was the grenade launcher, and you saw how that worked out.”

Vanden:

“That’s a him problem; if he can’t keep his trap shut then he’s the one who’ll get a visit from the spooks, not me.”

Darcy:

“Of course she asked for it, she wants to be more expressive!”

Owen:

“Calm as you please taking that thing’s head off, shaking like a leaf after.”

Killian:

“She farted! You scared her so bad she farted! Right down the back of my neck!”

Lt Shards:

“Cheers, Baxter,” she said, as he reached in for her empty gruel bowl, “when I get out of here, I’ll make sure to leave you alive.”

Baxter:

“Bravo, Lieutenant, bravo!” He declared, applauding sardonically. “Although, I had hoped for a witty one-liner before the decisive shot; perhaps that’s something the movies got disappointingly wrong?”

GS- Jack’s route: final thoughts

if you couldn’t figure out by all the posts I loved this route very much.  This is probably my favorite route for Morgan.   It’s one of the only routes where Morgan is free to be herself.  She is not constantly worried about her surroundings or having someone to really answer to.   Sure Celeste or Rowan will worry about her, but neither really order her around.  Due to this freedom she is able to do some amazing things with her powers.  These powers are also not controlled by organizations like in so many of the other routes. 

As for Jack. I really like him. I was a bit annoyed with is ongoing ability to go out and get beat up but when Morgan wanted to do anything at all he wanted to stop her.  I get that he was stalled by memories about his sister, and I’m so glad he finally got over that.    He also really needed to get over the guilt he felt for bringing her over to this of the planet.  trust me dude. she has so much more freedom and is so much more happy.    

I said many, many times. I found the two of them together very, very cute. I loved their flirty banter and overall I love them together. 

I’ve said before I don’t  have a favorite LI.  I can’t pick a favorite.   

The next route up be Ari.  I love this boy too.  (as of now I haven’t started playing the route yet. so it might be a bit before I start posting a bit.  I also have a GBpatch Baxter beta to play as well)

News reports have confirmed that Hannah Clarke has died in hospital after being set alight by a man whose name I will not mention here, nor whose achievements deserve special recognition.

Inside her vehicle, Hannah Clarke’s three children Aaliyah, aged six, Laianah, four, and Trey, three, all died. Like you, I feel deeply shaken by this man’s actions. And I understand that we want to understand “why”.

However, the media reporting to date fuels the narrative that we know is so damaging. It focuses on the man who fell from grace, as though this act was in isolation.

Time and time again, history has taught us that entitled men kill the women in their life and her children to exert power, control and dominance.

And yet, we hear so little about Hannah and her children. Instead, the narrative implores us to empathise with a “troubled” man or to demonise the killer as some kind of “monster”. This is an exercise in othering.

Overnight, I’ve been contacted by friends of Hannah and they describe her in the most beautiful of ways: A woman with grit, resilience, determination and a wonderful mother and caring partner.

And in spite of all of her life’s achievements, the Australian media has, almost collectively, wanted for us to feel for the person responsible for the deaths of a woman and her children. No thank you. Not today, not ever.

Hannah, I am sorry we failed you. I hope that if there is a life after this world, you’re reunited with Aaliyah, Laianah and Trey where he can’t hurt you anymore ❤️
