Leadenhall by Roy Llowarch Via Flickr: Redesigned by the Victorians in 1881. Leadenhall Market dates back to the 14th century and is situated in what was the centre of Roman London. Originally a meat, poultry and game market, it is now home to a number of boutique retailers, restaurants, cafes, wine bars and an award-winning pub. Starting as the site of a manor, Leadenhall has survived changes in use, rebuilding, and even the Great Fire to become a popular destination for city residents, visitors and workers.

Rotunda of Mosta by Roy Llowarch Via Flickr: Rotunda of Mosta, The Church of the Assumption of Our Lady or Rotunda of St Marija Assunta. Sometimes called The Mosta Dome is a church in Malta. A miracle happened here during World War 2 when a German 500lb bomb smashed through the roof and into church floor in the middle of 300 worshipers. The bomb did not explode and nobody was killed or seriously injured. Beautiful building. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rotunda_of_Mosta

Salisbury Cathedral
flickr
Salisbury Cathedral by Roy Llowarch Via Flickr: Travelled up to Salisbury today to revisit the wonderful cathedral. It has the tallest spire in the United Kingdom. I climbed to the top of the spire last time I visited back in 2014. The tower is not open at the moment due to Covid-19 rules on social distancing. Salisbury cathedral is one of our newer Norman cathedrals as it was not built until 1220AD. Sadly the weather today as you can see was cloudy and overcast. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salisbury_Cathedral

HMS Warrior (1860) by Roy Llowarch Via Flickr: A trip over to Portsmouth Saturday 14th of August 2021. Seen here is HMS Warrior. Warrior and her sister ship HMS Black Prince were the first ocean-going armour plated iron hulled warships in the world. They were built in response to France launching the first ocean-going ironclad warship, the wooden-hulled Gloire. These photos were taken with my Canon Camera on a beautiful day in Pompey

Tower of London by Roy Llowarch Via Flickr: Visit to the Tower of London the 2nd of July 2021. I had to book a ticket on line so booked the first slot at 9am. It was very slow there due to Covid-19 but great to visit without the crowds that would be there from all over the world in normal times. The Tower of London dates back to 1066 with the White Tower being built in 1078. The castle is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tower_of_London

Little Venice London (In Explore) by Roy Llowarch Via Flickr: London's Little Venice is a tranquil canal area, home to waterside cafes and pubs. Enjoy a stroll along pretty streets and take a relaxing boat trip to ZSL London Zoo or Camden Town. Little Venice bears no resemblance to Venice in Italy but is a lovely area of London to go walking on a beautiful day. These photos were taken in June 2018 with my Canon DSLR camera and I have downsized them because they were huge.
