The kiss snapped Harry out of his daze and he let out a breathy laugh as the pretty boy walked out furthermore, closing his door behind him. He gave Harry a small smile back, raising his eyebrows in amusement while looking down past Harry’s waist and then back up.

“My late husband, Alan Rickman died in January 2016. By the time his cancer was discovered, it was inoperable. So, I am very keen on understanding any developments that might lead to better screening and earlier diagnosis.

Following a degree in Physiology and Biochemistry and a research position, I changed careers and taught economics at two universities in applied microeconomics with particular focus on public sector economics.

A great love is politics and I served as a councillor for the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, St Charles ward in North Kensington for twenty years. I have served on a number of public sector Boards and I since 1988 I have been the Chair of Governors for Barlby Primary School, a North Kensington community school.

Another passion is the arts – especially theatre and film.”

Location: Kensal Green Cemetery, Queens Park, Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Date: 24 June, 2022

For a moment, if Eleanor closed her eyes and focused on the slight breeze tugging at the hem of her skirt, she could pretend that this was just an ordinary stroll through the park. But the moment her eyes opened again she was surrounded by headstones and monuments and the dead. Despite being six feet under the earth, their presence hovered just over her shoulder and just out of sight except to flicker past the very edges of her peripheral vision whenever she let her guard down.

The same sense of hovering had overtaken Eleanor the last time she set foot in this cemetery. What was it now? Four years ago? Both too long and not long enough. It’d been November then, and the wind was less cool and more biting. Eleanor’s eyes focused in on one name on one stone and she knelt down to gently run her fingers over the engraving. Henri Massot. Truthfully, she’d never seen the stone up close. She hadn’t dared attend his funeral and had only watched from a distance, leaving into the fall before anyone even knew she was there.

“Sorry it took so long for me to visit. I’ve missed you”

What comfort were her words to a man who had turned to dust and dirt? Pressing her fingers to her lips, she touched them to the cool stone before standing up and smoothing out her skirt. Her gaze settled on someone walking directly her way. Eleanor offered a gracious smile, as though she wasn’t visiting a grave she absolutely should not be standing at. “Sorry, am I in your way? I was just leaving.”
