not to get Heated over something that does not matter at all but in every description of charley and her relationship with the doctor tvtropes makes it seem like she’s this lovesick fool who’s following him around while he doesn’t reciprocate which just???? isn’t the case??? obviously I am looking at this scenario with biases but like in Neverland it’s the doctor who gives an “Anguished Declaration of Love” not charley??? she says “I love you too” but only AFTER he tells her he loves her. I'm not interpreting that it’s literally just what happens????

I feel like many people reduce ochako character to being just a girl they shipped with izuku but to me she is more than just that. She is a hero who help save many people lives and most importantly she is a good friend who is always there for you when you need a helping hand and to get back up on your feet.

i promise i’ll actually post real matt writing content soon but

in doing my sort of re-deep dive into the manga to make icons i just want to revisit the idea of fandom matt vs canon matt which is like. don’t get me wrong, i think video game memer matt is a really funny fandom interpretation, because a lot of the content we got of him was him playing games while doing work.

but i don’t agree with any of the sort of woobifying that happens with him (and mello and near) that just boils them down to these fandom ideas, this kid was third in line at an incredibly rigorous academy that would have really put him through his paces if he was going to slack off and be a memer. the kid nearly beat someone to death because they didn’t have the information he needed.

he’s not just some “epic fail lol” gamer.

The global reaction to Aaron Bushnell’s self immolation has been very jarring. I understand how powerful and scary it is to witness such a young man set himself on fire while screaming for a free Palestine, but to now see comments like “his death will not be in vain” and “the video will haunt me forever” is very strange considering the depravity of the videos we have been seeing coming out of Gaza for 4 months. It seems like people are now using Aaron as the “perfect martyr” of Palestine that we can put all of our efforts into celebrating as if there has not been 30,000+ Palestinian martyrs that we have been begging you to acknowledge

i'm always a bit unsettled by disdain for intellectual or creative labor in leftist spaces. there's this commonly held belief that academics are a bunch of rich old white men, rather than a wide variety of people who are barely getting by. most lecturers in universities are adjuncts living paycheck to paycheck. authors make very little money as a general rule. most researchers are overworked and underpaid. and yet there's still this idea that academics are overcompensated to sit around and smoke cigars together while making shit up
